Again the staff was nice and corrected it immediately. I had the horchata mocktail and while the flavour was quite good it felt ten times way too sweet. After sipping away at some I added water to it and it made it more suitable for my palette. The spicy rice was gorgeous and actually had some heat to it, which as a Mexican American here in England , I was surprised. The Ancho Mushroom Enchilada was just ok for me. It felt like they had overloaded it with salt and no other prominent flavour. Lastly the vegan Elotes were delicious. The cheese, mayo, and spice were lovely and the Elote was soo juicy!

We were seated at a table with standard menus only, and noticed that was being done with other diners too. Fortunately we were aware there's a lunch deal menu and my wife went to get that instead. From the lunch deals, we ordered ourselves burritos, then ordered a Taco meal as a kind of side to share. Very glad I didn't order that as my main meal as it was tiny. I opted for the Pork pibil because I'm not sure if they keep the meats of the haallal menu and the normal menus separate, and I didn't want to mistakenly eat haallal meat. The food was ok, I expected a lot more flavour, but overall not bad or anything. The mocktails were quite nice, the virgin colada was lovely to be fair. My wife suggested we head to the nearby Christmas market for churros for dessert, but I insisted we stay put. She ended up getting the dessert menu herself and we ordered the Churros to share. They came without ice cream, so we had to ask for that again, which we received an apology for and were then given strawberry instead of vanilla as that was all they had left. It did seem the one guy who looked like he was in charge was trying to keep it together, but generally it was a bit of a shambles from his crew. I did witness another diner receiving even worse service, but that's not really my story to tell.

We love it so much we hosted our wedding reception here and it was everything we wanted and more. The team are simply incredible, so accommodating, knowledgable, fun and kind. Even offering our 92 year old grandma tea and sherry. The cocktails are second to none and our guests loved working their way through the menu! The venue feels like you’re having a massive party in the kitchen which is exactly the vibe we wanted. I will never be able to explain in words quite how wonderful this bar and the team are ♥️ thank you for making our wedding so epic, the memories, stories and vibes will be with us and our guests for a long time x

We had a table of 4 - 2 of us only liked 1 drink & the other 2 only liked the other drink so we asked for separate jugs so that none of us are without a drink whilst the 2 were finishing the one jug, they let us have it once but then told us no for the rest because of the alcohol in it (supposed to be a bottomless, no????) from that we were getting looks from the staff for the remainder. Food was just slid on the table, not passed & it wasn’t even great. Only thing that made the experience just about okay was the drag act on, complete waste of money & not a good experience in the slightest. I honestly don’t know if this is the reason we experienced less than optimal service. From arrival, we felt shoved into a corner through a curtain next to the vape machine. Firstly I was surprised to see how nice it looks inside compared to back in the day. Very clean and stylish now. I have to say I was surprised when I tasted the food because it was exactly the same as it used to be. The mixed grill is nicely balanced and not overloaded with cheap wings, there were 4 lamb chops on it. It didn't look promising when it came out with very minimal smoking and sizzling, but everything on it was decent. The only two slight let downs were that the naans were burnt and too firm, and we got given plain chips instead of masala chips. That said, the chips were the absolute perfect texture you can get. We weren't going to bother bringing up the mistake, but the lady at the bar engaged us in chip-related conversation! so we just told her about the chips only, and she immediately went looking to rectify it, eventually refunding us the difference for those. 10-14 years ago, this was up there as one of the best places for a mixi, and I think now it's been forgotten about a little bit with these new ones popping up, but I have to say it's still worth visiting.

Mixy was great loads of lamb chops, tikka juicy, fish batter crispy, shish very flavoursome. Wings meaty too. Chips were gigantic - too big really, like eating a whole spud in one! The only downside to this place is, we ordered all the starters and mains together, we were midway through the starters then the mains appeared so we were presented with a mountain of food when really we needed a gap between. The table wasn’t the biggest for 6 of us so we had empty plates everywhere. If they’d have given us 10 mins between the starters and mains then great, but midway though was too quick. No chicken lollipop on the menu as per the website too. Overall nice food, loads of lamb, competitively priced and really nice venue great for when the sports on.

Staff were very polite when we entered and seated us straight away. The waiter who brought over our drinks dropped the tray which had a pint of lemonade on it - this splashed over one of our party's jacket, hair and face. Mistakes happen and the waiter was very apologetic, replaced the drink and gave my friend some tissue to dry her jacket. In the main, the food was very nice, and the pork was delicious, however a couple of us found the gravy a little salty. Two of us had finished our meals and one person was still eating when one of the waiters started clearing plates - this is something that really frustrates me, plates shouldn't be cleared until everybody in the party is finished. When the bill arrived, the lemonade had been taken off but a service charge had been added to the bill, which I thought was a bit thoughtless considering earlier events. We had been booked at another venue initially with a food and drinks package included, they cancelled a week before but handed our booking over to the cocktail bar who offered to honour the food deal and supply a drinks voucher to enable everyone to have a singular drink on the deal. On arrival we had to argue and complain for everything as our booking was always for 11 people but they only catered for 7 of us. We were sat right next to the live band which meant we couldn’t even hear ourselves think let alone speak to the person sat next to you, which meant that we couldn’t enjoy the band, or each others company. The food was ok but only 7 of each item so nowhere near enough food for the 11 of us. The drinks prices were steep £6.50 for a bottled beer (nothing on tap) and for a bar calling itself a cocktail club the menu had around 16 cocktails in total all £11.75 each with 3 sharing cocktails starting at £60. The staff did try to help us out providing some drinks vouchers saying we couldn’t even hear have any bottle of beer, house spirit or house cocktail, yet when taken to the bar the choice was either a passion fruit martini or espresso martini as the only cocktails we could choose, Vodka and a mixer or a bottle of their cheapest beer. If there had been enough food and the staff making the expensive drinks actually made an effort and showed some flare and passion in making the cocktails then it would have been better. I can’t say I recommend The Cocktail Club and unfortunately I don’t intend to return or advise anyone else I know attend either.

My cousin complained and the manageress just didn’t seem to care no apology and a half hearted question of did she want something else or another steak - she said no to steak and just asked for a piece of salmon. It arrived 10 minutes or more later - on a very small plate with no garnish nothing. I was wholly embarrassed that a catering establishment would consider that acceptable. My cousin lost her appetite and actually didn’t eat it - I mean it’s now 22:30. Totally disappointed by the way the staff treated her. Another guest is a coeliac and there is no provision on the menu. I can’t begin to go through the issues she had. Birthday boys food was also just dry and sad. This review would end up being a lesson on how not to run an establishment. Worst still the “boys” come to resort world weekly and rotate the restaurants they attend. On other occasions when the restaurant isn’t busy the food has been better. Tonight it was clearly an off day and all I can say if this restaurant is busy then go elsewhere. Miller and Carter might be a better shout if you want a steak! A new waitress (Grace) has just taken our order for puds…. this waitress seems very switched on and on the ball. Please note the waitress who originally served us was new and she tried her best but was let down by the food, the kitchen etc etc. customer service is not a top priority for this company. Further to my original post some of the party ordered deserts and they were well received. Also no complaints about the waiting staff. Finally the restaurant did reduce the overall bill to reflect the issues mentioned.
