Full English buffet along with continental options and there more than happy to cook eggs on request. Dinner service was exceptional! Service: 10/10 if I could score higher I would! So polite and accommodating and very cheerful. Rooms: spacious, clean, quiet, if your like me and prefer having your phone by your bed you have two outlets either side and the you have numerous lights depending on what you'd prefer. You also have a reading light above the bed which is lovely. The beds are comfy with 4 pillows plus an extra blanket! Lots of storage and coat hooks. They also provide a fan which I thought was lovely. There is also a lift. They also have a charming courtyard with a lovely water feature and seating. There was no apology for putting us in a bug infested room and no offer of compensation or refund for transferring us to an inferior room to the one we paid for. One suggestion I would make is for the main bathroom to be redesigned as there is too much empty space and the bath is not particularly comfortable nor does it have anywhere nearby to place shower gels or shampoos on. However, the rest of the rooms are well decorated, comfortable and warm, and there is plenty of space for everyone. Dinner at the Great Western Hotel was incredibly good. It's expensive but we felt it was a special enough experience to justify this. I had an enjoyable experience at the spa with Daisy as my therapist and Kelly was incredibly helpful in tracking down my husband's lost swimming trunks at the pool reception! We didn't have to wait long at the bar for drinks to be served and dinner at the Brasserie was lovely on both occasions. There was a good atmosphere, the staff were attentive and the food was very good. The shop is also rather lovely with a good array of clothing and boots. The main activities coordinator went above and beyond to make me feel welcome as I was travelling alone. The breakfast staff were absolutely lovely and the spa staff managed to fix my back. The breakfast involved the most beautiful golden eggs that are laid on site. You can even go and select your own eggs straight from the chicken house. The ceremony space was out by the lake where you can overlook the country views when the weather is nice. I also caught a glimpse of the inside ceremony space in the greenhouse which looked super cool. The GlassHouse is where the wedding breakfast was, dressed with long tables and styled so well. The light is incredible and the indoor plants really make you feel like you're in a different country. There are SO MANY awesome places for couples photos like the barns, back by the river and a really cool tunnel coated in greenery. I can't wait to shoot more at this venue in 2024 + 2025.

Let's start with the view. Never gets old. Eating breakfast each morning with that view was relaxing. It provided a much needed change of scenery from our everyday 9 to 5. Speaking of breakfast, continental and cooked breakfast was included in the pricing. The food and drink was a nice start to each day and the staff were lovely. They really are lovely to be around. The on site spa and fitness centre were really handy. My wife enjoyed the pool and spa while I found that I could keep the essentials of my fitness routine with the equipment provided without too much trouble. The room itself, really comfy beds, spacious bathroom, serviced daily with the topped up water and homemade flapjacks. They also had a comfy cosy lounge area with a selection of games, or if you're like us, can bring your own. Things to be aware of, you're internet might be a bit spotty, they provide on site WiFi but you're at the mercy of the elements. I feel like this is understandable with the hotel being where it is. The walls seem to be thin between rooms allowing for noise to come through but they seem to account for this where possible, we only heard noise for the room next door on our last night/morning there. The pub is just lovely, the owners and staff were lovely and attentive too. We love the old features and furnishings in the hotel; too many places have been "ultra-modernised and chromed", so whilst Two Bridges has all the comforts and mod-cons we need for a comfortable stay, it is wonderful to see it maintaining a lot of its original charm. The food in the restaurant is deliciously prepared and beautifully presented, and the wait staff very helpful. We did find the vegetarian choices to be more limited than during our previous stay, however when we queried this with the front desk, they very kindly spoke to the chef who prepared an utterly delicious butternut squash risotto for our second evening. So if you have any special requirements, don't hesitate to have a quiet word with the staff as they really do try hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Listening to live harp music the second evening whilst eating was a wonderful experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Two Bridges Hotel and I'm sure we'll be back again sometime in the not too distant future. Thank you for a wonderful peaceful stay.

Turned up 9.05am and were asked to wait as others had turned up late. We waited until 9.50am before sitting down to a rushed breakfast. Things were very tense with the serving team and this was picked up by several guests.Again adding to a less than satisfactory experience. We only got an apology for the wait as we left the restaurant after breakfast. Our evening meal was faultless. The food was delicious and the service by all staff was superb. We had a courtyard room which was nice although I thought it had an odour & the carpet felt damp. Overall the staff on reception, bar , housekeeping & restaurant, therapists were amazingly helpful, polite and attentive. But we wouldn’t go again for a relaxed break on a weekend day as it wasn’t to be .

The place could be incredible, but in our (quite extensive) experience of similar “resorts”, this is lacking in places. I’ll first say that the golf is absolutely mint. Both courses are fantastic, with the Nick as the jewel in the crown. I wouldn’t be disappointed if they only had the Kernow to be honest, it’s great too. Very challenging, but picturesque and playable, even for me as a mid-high handicapper (20 ish). I’ve found the service has been mostly lacking. The young lady on reception answered “I don’t know” to every question we’ve asked over the week. They have been very simple questions like what times are the restaurants open, or what time do we need to check out. Well if you don't know, how on earth should we know? Matt in the Nicklaus bar is super friendly, super accommodating and as far as I can see could teach the rest of the team a thing or two about customer service. We tried to book another week, but the price literally doubled between asking for availability and booking it. Admittedly I did wait a couple of weeks between asking for availability and booking, but I didn’t realise there was any urgency. The reception lady just said “I don’t make the prices, I just press the buttons on the website like you”. We’ve not managed to eat in the fancier restaurant because we’ve not been able to identify when it’s open in advance because nobody apparently knows. The bar menu is what it is. It’s good enough for lunch, but we’d have liked something a bit better on occasion. The leisure facilities are nothing special. They exist, and they are ok, but aren’t going to win any awards. It’s the hospitality and leisure facilities that make me question the idea that it is a “resort”. You couldn’t spend any amount of time here and be entertained, therefore, I wouldn’t call it a resort, personally. We are in a “turret” cottage for the second time. It’s ideal for us (as a family of 3). It’s clean, has everything we need, and we like it a lot. The only negative is the water system is so unbelievably load that you can’t possibly even so much as run a tap without waking the whole house. When you are getting up early to play golf, it’s far from ideal. The noise comes from literally the wall between the two bedrooms, so it couldn’t have been designed any worse. Overall our experience was good, but held together by the nice cottage and golf courses, the rest is so so. This is my honest review.

I requested an early check-in so we may freshen up & change clothes after our long drive before the funeral time at 14.00, I was told this could be done for 13.00. The hotel is in a fabulous location with dramatic views of Dartmoor, well decorated throughout with a slight quirky homely feel. In the evening we relaxed in the upper part of the Brasserie with chilled wine & chose the steak & mushroom pie with vegetables which was delicious, no fat or grainy meat-perfect & I am a very fussy eater. All too soon it was time to retire to our room & snuggle down in the very comfy bed. Wish we could have had an extra night to explore Dartmoor & further enjoy the hotel. A few days later I noticed the over-shirt I had been wearing in the Brasserie was missing, I contacted the hotel to check if someone had found the shirt, I received a call back several minutes later from Shana saying it was there. I was willing to pay for the postage, Shana boxed it & posted same day. Today I received the box, inside my shirt was gently folded & wrapped.
