I came here as a 60th birthday present for my mum, we had a wonderful stay, the room was great, had lovely treatments, the location was stunning and the staff extremely polite.
There was one reoccurring thing which kept letting it down.. the hospitality in the restaurants.
The staff were great at welcoming you in the restaurant door, but from ordering, clearing, and asking if we needed anything else it was really poor, breakfasts we waited over half an hour before asking someone to clear our plates, both days. Extra drinks and toast kept being forgotten about. For dinner we were forgotten about from the point the food was on our table, we didn't get a check back on our meal, we weren't asked if we needed more drinks, we waited half an hour before asking staff for dessert menus, someone came to clear the menus from the table without asking if we wanted dessert after specifically requesting a menu for dessert. Having worked in hospitality before it seemed that everyone did everything but no one owned anything. No one had their own section, to take orders, clear plates and own their customers. Also no one was in charge of just doing the orders or just clearing plates, the same X2 waitresses serving downstairs we also saw deliver room service. Who is looking after the customers at breakfast while they're elsewhere?
This is such an important part of the experience a customer receives it's such a shame as it really let it down.
