The first restaurant we found by chance, and it turned out to be the best we tried in Budapest. It’s about a 40-50 minute walk from St. Stephen’s Basilica. The place is incredibly authentic and atmospheric. It’s best to make a reservation in advance; otherwise, the wait can be 30-60 minutes. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The interior feels vintage and unique, like visiting your grandmother’s home. The portions are huge—better to share one between two people and try different things gradually. We had the goulash, homemade lemonade, and beef with rice, and everything was extraordinarily tasty and fresh. Absolutely a recommended place to visit! 👍🏻
We had lunch in paprika after our visit to heroes square.
The food was so rustic and delicious! The best we had in Budapest and we ate a lot of Hungarian cuisine!
The service was very nice and friendly as well.
Definitely recommend!!! 🌶️
We visited here during Christmas, and although we had to wait in line for about an hour to an hour and a half due to how crowded it was, it was definitely worth the wait! While the prices aren’t cheap, they’re reasonable for the authentic, delicious food you get. The goulash is a must-try – absolutely amazing. One tip: be cautious with the paprika sauce they bring you with the bread! It’s quite spicy, so start with just a small amount before going all in 😂. Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely worth a visit!
