Lickey Hills Country Park, located just a short drive from Birmingham, offers a peaceful escape from city life with beautiful woods and stunning views. Visitors appreciate the play areas, picnic spots, and various walking trails of different levels. The Visitor Centre provides good facilities including a cafe (expected by Easter 2025), ample parking, and guideposts for easy navigation. Families enjoy the kids' play area and benches for picnics. Despite some potholes in the free car park, visitors are encouraged to explore this gem that has something to offer in every season.
Such a beautiful, peaceful spot situated right in the heart of the city. I am so glad this spot is close to home because it's the perfect place to be when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
There are play areas, toilets, picnic spots, and a number of walks to choose from. Hopefully a cafe back at the visitors centre from Easter 2025 🤞🏻
Enjoyed a circular walk this afternoon starting and finishing at the visitor centre. The woods are beautiful and will be absolutely stunning in a short while when the bluebells are out. I had to make some guesses on the way round as to which route to take so a little bit of extra signage indicating the direction to take to get to the centre would have been welcome! I was so busy enjoying my walk that the only photo I took was of the designated building area - such a great idea 😁
Can get busy on sunny weekends and school holidays. But otherwise a lovely place for a short walk after work or adding a few extra miles to a longer walk if in the area. Car park is free but does have potholes to be aware of. Cafe is pretty decent to and loads of interesting stuff / ideas for the little ones to keep entertained and away from the curse of social media! Visit, enjoy and put your litter (and dog poo) in the bin!
Just a 20–30 minute drive from Birmingham, it's a nice and relaxing place if you're looking for some quiet time away from a busy life. Beautiful views and lots of walking paths.
One of the best outdoor spaces in the Midlands open to the public for walks and general enjoyment of nature. Good facilities at the Visitor Centre and ample parking for those arriving from far away. Great for kids, with a play area and picnic benches. Guideposts for walking trails at different levels of distance, elevation, and difficulty.
