Blue Window Bistro in Los Alamos is a charming spot with mixed reviews on food quality and service. While some diners praised the friendly staff and delicious dishes like salmon tacos, pinto beans, artichoke dip, and limoncello cake, others were disappointed by small portions or overcooked meals. Despite varying experiences, many visitors appreciated the ambiance and recommended making reservations for busy times.
Blue Window Bistro delivers excellent food with speedy service. The menu offers fresh, flavorful dishes, and the quick, efficient staff makes it a great spot for a satisfying meal, even on a tight schedule.
I mostly enjoyed dinner here, our service was a little slow and the waitress tried to memorize the order and I got green chili on my burger instead of fried egg. I luckily like green chili and accepted the substitution as is. The burger was well cooked and the whipped potatoes were good as well. The peaches and cream cocktail was a treat. With a little more attention this would've been a better experience.
One fun note, I liked the mismatched tables through the restaurant. It gave it a little bit of an antique flair.
I've been to Blue Window several times and each time I have enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. Also, the service has been great too! The employees have always been attentive, kind, and quick. The food is always fresh, great-tasting and a good value. I highly recommend Blue Window for couples, families or a work meeting.
Consistently great service (they seem to keep their staff). Food is consistently great, flavors and spices well balanced. Excellent, fresh, salads. Nice ambiance. Like most restaurants in the U.S., they could do something for some sound absorption (gets rather noisy when busy), but otherwise an excellent place to dine. Wine list to complement any meal. I don't know how they do it.
By far the nicest restaurant in town if you have anything to celebrate! Lunch burgers are a reasonable price but it will likely be pretty busy from people working in town at the lab. Making a reservation is recommended if it’s any party larger than two or on their prime rib night. Usually great staff- only had one waiter at the back bar out of all the times we have been here that forgot about us. Every appetizer we have had was good except for the bean dish. It had no flavor whatsoever.
