About
Rochelle Canteen is a unique dining spot located in the bike shed of a school turned arts and media complex. Despite its unconventional setting, it attracts those in the know seeking a romantic meal or a leisurely afternoon in its garden during summer. As the sister restaurant to St. John, it offers a short, modern menu with rich and comforting fare, including excellent pies and delectable desserts.Reviews
Rochelle Canteen in Shoreditch, London, is a hidden gem with a lovely garden setting. Reviewers praise the quality of food, from crispy quail to standout dishes like Dover sole and confit pork belly. The ambiance is described as magical and charming, especially in the garden area. Service receives high marks for being friendly and attentive. While some dishes were noted as overpriced or average, most reviewers highly recommend visiting Rochelle Canteen for its exceptional culinary experience.
Delicious food with delicate and amazing flavours - loved the scallops, the mussels, the courgettes and the pumpkin soup (bread was a bit disappointing as it was cold and the butter was hard to spread - excellent to dip in the sauces of the dishes though). Excellent wine list. Servers were friendly and attentive. The garden area is really beautiful on a sunny day. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful and quite elegant canteen, focusing on classic dishes. You could either sit inside or in their heated tent. Located by a lush cute garden, in a calm neighborhood. Very popular, so a reservation is recommended to dine here. Food was good, but slightly overpriced perhaps. Service was polite, but not the warmest nor happiest.
Hidden gem in London
What a lovely restaurant with fine foods!!
Staffs were always friendly and careful.
Want to come back in Summer season.
still not sure the location where is official entrance but hope you can get there
The entrance is hard to find (hidden behind an unassuming door with an intercom) but the interior is spacious! Service is quick and the waitresses are friendly :) The menu changes every now and then but this time, friends and I had the wigeon (£32), roast pork (£28) and turbot (£32). Roast pork was the best to me! We also had the apple crumble which is made in-house, it was delish and not too heavy.
First time here, and can't wait to come back The food was just perfect, drinks were great, the staff was great and attentive everything we ate made our eyes roll back in our heads I was stuffed but I wanted more. Can't wait to go back to London next year just to eat here again. Thank you for making our experience so special!
