Padella is a beloved Italian bistro just outside Borough Market in London, known for its exceptional pasta dishes and friendly service. Reviewers praise the delicious and simple yet tasty pasta offerings, with highlights including tagliarini with crab and slow-cooked beef ragu. The wine selection is great, the portions are generous for sharing, and the staff are attentive and diligent. While some mention long queues, the virtual queue system is seamless, allowing guests to enjoy watching the open kitchen upstairs where food is efficiently prepared.
My friends have been telling me to come here for so long, and I'm glad I finally did. It's very reasonably priced, and the food is delicious - I had the chocolate ice cream for dessert which was especially wonderful. I was served by Luke who was cheerful and friendly, and the bill came out to less than I'd expected! Can see why it comes so highly recommended
Quite literally the best pasta I have ever tasted in London. The prices are amazing and the quality/flavor of the pastas are incredible! Be sure to make multiple pasta rounds, as the portions are designed to be on the smaller side.
They do not accept reservations, you must go in person to join the virtual queue. It takes on average about an hour to be seated if you go during prime dining time.
Lovely place! Went to have lunch and everything was great. The pastas were amazing and the energy of the people downstairs made it even better. I HAD to go back the very next day to try other pastas. There could be a line, but if you go right after the place opens, it won't be a problem.
We enjoyed our meal at Padella, our pasta was delicious, the crab was yummy and subtly flavoured, my husband loved his nudja if was very moorish.
The puddings were very good, although there was no mention of creme fraiche on the menu, the waiter offered to remove it but if I’d known I’d would asked for ice cream instead.
The only disappoints were the carpaccio - it was a very small portion, I know beef is expensive but it was over priced.
Also sitting at the bar was interesting but it wasn’t comfortable, we didn’t feel we could order a bottle of wine, relax and enjoy our food. We ate our food quickly and left, which is such a shame - I hope we get a better table next time.
Well worth a visit. We arrived at opening time on a Friday lunchtime and used the app to join a queue. We’re seated almost immediately. Staff attentive and explained the menu and suggested some recommendations. Pasta was delicious and save space for the tiramisu.
