Hard to explain, but if you are a die-hard JD fan, you'd understand the peacefulness and serenity of the park. My only miss on this place is the limited number of lyrics etched in granite. The top 7 obvious ones, but so much more could be done! Still a 5 star rating!

Just beautiful, peaceful and as John Denver fan very emotional.. went for John Denver week in October, you don’t need to buy tickets to get in, have been to Aspen twice and hope to go back again, this time I would go in late Spring. There are lots of beautiful things to see and do, I went for two weeks. Aspen is beautiful!

I have waited so long to visit this place and it did not disappoint. Tranquil, peaceful, serene. Everything he would have wanted it to be. I was a bit nervous considering my achilles surgery and recovery. I trained for this little trip. To see "Everything," there is a little climbing or stepping down on rocks, but you, for the most part, are on flat surfaces.

so pretty here! i’d recommend people go here for a leisurely walk, time alone, or even to read a book. very quiet yet a big area so there are a lot of places to relax or sit down. very clean bathrooms as well.

This is such a wonderful place. We're big fans of John Denver, but even those unfamiliar or those who hate his music can appreciate the beauty of this place. Running water, well tended plants and landscape. It was amazing.

Although small, I'd say this park is worth a visit while in Aspen. It is a vfery serene and inspiring park. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as a family sing along of Annie's Song and Sunshine on my Shoulders. The views of the river and the mountains are spectacular. There is a few street parking spaces, but there's also a public parking garage.

Not very friendly stuff er meeting you at the lobby. People used to say “The theater begins with the coat racks”, same is here…

During a ski trip to Aspen, I enjoyed my visit to the museum. I'm not sure why this museum has received so many low reviews, as I found the current exhibitions to be both interesting and informative. The café on the top floor also offered a decent variety of food and drink options.

The best and most interesting is the building itself, glass, concrete and wooden architecture, don't miss the terrace for a good look at the town and mountains or if you want to have some basic food and drinks. The art itself is a random collection of weird stuff, good for visiting before going to the airport if you have some extra time. Street parking.

Building is interesting and fits very well for a contemporary art museum. The art exhibition could be better with some explanation. The roof top cafe is good for getting something to drink and light food items

The building itself is an impressive piece of architecture featuring an earthy woven exterior with a interior/exterior staircase that that reaches the rooftop. Entry and coat check are free and there’s a nice cafe on the roof with a great view of the slopes.

The Art Meuseum is a must visit spot in Aspen. It is free to visit and has some very interesting architecture. The view from the rooftop is nice and you can also grab a bite to eat in the Cafe. The exhibit was Andy Warhol originals which was cool to see those in person. I only deducted a star because I am not a major fan of this type of art and this was the only exhibit at a time. But if you are in the area then this is worth a visit. ( I do not own any rights to the artwork but we did ask permission to photograph, these works can easily be found online, enjoy!)

My wife and I were able to go to Aspen for a few days relaxing until Christmas eve. I can't ski, just had my hip replaced after Christmas but we went up the gondola to have a nice lunch and just the atmosphere at the top, the energy of skiers and boarders everywhere, love it! It was just what I needed pre surgery! Great food and better scenery!

With Fall colors at its peak in Aspen, the gondola ride offered excellent 360 degrees view. Food at the Sundeck restaurant was delicious. Great experience during the Fall season.

The Silver Queen Gondola is one of the longest and coolest gondola rides in the United States. The views at the top are breathtaking. A three pack of rides can be purchased for 46 dollars, which is a bargain compared to what Vail charges for their gondola rides in the summer. Aspen is also much more pet friendly, which is a plus if you have a dog with you.

No lines, nice ride. Giddy up y’all! Ride to the top of Aspen Mt., people watch the ski styles and take in whatever the mountain has to offer.

Aspen is very commercial but this gondola ride was TOTALLY WORTH IT. We paid $37 pp but we got to go to the very top (11000 ft elevation). The closed gondola takes you up to a place from where you need to ride the mountain bike lifts upto the top. Don’t get disheartened thinking it’s just the closed gondola which is not that fun.

You can buy tickets online in order to lose anytime buying tickets at the booth. Last ride is at 4pm up and down at 4:30pm. Nice ride, smooth; even though I felt some anxiety going up and down, but I feel it when flying with airplanes, so if you don’t have any issues with it, you’ll enjoy it. Aspen view is one of the best and the ride is approx 14min. Up you can enjoy a snack, meal, something to drink and even to hang out with your kids.

The Steep Canyon Rangers at the Wheeler! Incredible show from supremely talented bluegrass musicians. It was such a treat to have a great Bluegrass band play at the historic and iconic Wheeler Opera House. And many thanks to the Wheeler staff, upon deciding to have a quality show such as this on a Monday night and at 6 pm no less. Made it entirely possible for us down-valley, working folks, to attend the show on a week night. Thank you Wheeler Opera House and Steep Canyon Rangers!

A beautifully restored theater space in downtown Aspen. We attended a performance (didn’t include music or singing) during AGSW. The acoustics were great. The docents were knowledgeable about the history of the Wheeler Opera House as well as the renovation.

We're so lucky to have the Wheeler Opera House right in our little town. And to have the incredible programming that the team brings. Just attended the Peter Hillary event last night and it was wonderful! Thank you for all you're doing, and what you bring to our community!

Meat & Cheese is the perfect little lunch spot in downtown Aspen if you’re looking for a quality bite to eat with great service. I had the street tacos and I enjoyed the fact it was Wagyu beef which isn’t typical for this type of dish. A friend had the quesabirria tacos which they enjoyed. My absolute favorite part of the meal was the salted chocolate chip cookie board which came with two cookies and vanilla milk. The cookies were SENSATIONAL!!! Perfectly baked, warm and gooey in the middle while still maintaining the ideal level of crunch throughout. They were so delicious I went back later that night after dinner at Matsuhisa to get another batch for me and my driver. Ambiance inside was nice and cozy. As a first time visitor, I enjoyed the fact they had a great selection of cheese, meats, wine, and gifts for purchase to round out the experience. Overall 9/10.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here tonight! The meat + cheese board as well as the Vietnamese noodle salad were phenomenal! The service was also incredible, and we enjoyed chatting with Joe and the rest of the team. Would definitely recommend!

So fresh! Delicious meal of Chicken, Steak, carrots and Caesar salad. All gluten free! Loved the smashed yellow baby potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes. Our server was wonderful.

We have eaten here several times before. We had a waitress tonight like I’ve never corrected in my life. She made what should have been a. Great meal quite miserable. Such a bad attitude, super unfriendly and just unpleasant. She was a blonde girl. The maitre d was pleasant and accommodating but this girl was miserable. Not a good reflection on what is otherwise a fine restaurant.

I enjoyed the entire experience at meat and cheese. Great place for lunch or dinner in Aspen. The meat and cheese board was probably the least of what I enjoyed, but still good. It is hard to mess up meat and cheese. The wow factor was the dumplings. So delicious if you are ok with a little spice. The kids menu was also great. I took my little ones and they loved it.

Love the oysters and lobster roll. Clam chowder was awful - the chef needs to have another taste of that. Stale oyster crackers, too much hot sauces, and non existing clams for $14? I get it - it’s Aspen prices. But holy moly, $45 for lobster roll and $4.50 per oyster. Also, I didn’t know until now I was supposed to get complimentary bread. Lastly, who actually enjoys those kind of fries? Overall, ambiance was nice.

Absolutely amazing experience. Every dish we ordered was super fresh and delicious. Absolute value for time and money. The staff is super well trained and very friendly and are very well trained. We went for lunch and it was absolutely worth it.

Checked out this restaurant on a tip from a local and it didn’t disappoint. Bread & radishes are immediately brought to the table to start and they had a great wine list. Tried the Chile and it was tasty. Plus some great Aspen people watching

The fresh complimentary sourdough and whipped butter didn’t last long enough for a photo to be captured. This place is always busy but they always manage to squeeze me in. A favorite lunch or dinner spot in Aspen to be certain. A wide variety of first class oysters to choose from. I have never had a dish there that was not top notch.

Clark’s is one of my favorite restaurant in town. The environment is great and the service too. If you go you need try the Ceviche and the octopus. I’ll stop by soon!

We had a fantastic experience at The Oyster Bar! The oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious.You could really taste the quality. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for enjoying seafood. Service was attentive and friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for oyster lovers or anyone looking for a great seafood spot!

My wife and I love oysters and we had without comparison the best oyster experience here than anywhere else (including the coasts). It’s amazing to get fresh seafood like this in Aspen, Colorado. The picture of the burger is the children menu burger for my five-year-old. I had a bite and it was phenomenal. The seafood tower features mussels, oysters, lobster, shrimp, as well as ceviche and crab - excellent.

Excellent lunch here on almost all levels. Our two salads were creative and perfectly executed, as was my cocktail. Servers were super friendly, and the atmosphere was beautiful! Only downside was the slooooow service. My husband ordered a 2nd beer halfway through his meal, but it took so long to come out we had finished by the time it arrived. They did comp it (we only had time to drink 2 sips before we left), but beer should be super quick and they should put a rush on it when you're in the middle of your meal. Other than that, spot on, and we would for sure go back!

Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, great service. This place is a top-tier establishment and doesn’t disappoint. I’ve eaten at their sister restaurant in Palm Beach and it was just as good. The chicken sandwich and the meatballs are must haves, burger is excellent also.

The service and food were exceptional. The smoked trout dip was excellent, and the deviled eggs very good and not overly sweet. My only recommendation would be to maybe add a well constructed old-fashioned cocktail to the cocktail list. We enjoyed sitting at the bar for the overall pleasant experience.

We had a lovely experience here. The service was excellent, and we were able to have our dog on their pleasant outdoor patio. They have ample heaters for when it's chilly. Prices are comparable to about anything else in Aspen, and very fair for the quality and the service. Would definitely visit this place again!

Glad to be there on off season - I know that place gets packed. First come first serve- but was able to sit down right away. In town for a show that started soon - they fed me quickly and i was provided excellent service. I had the house burger - very satisfying and had all the right balance of gourmet with a solid portion size. With an excellent drink, it was 40 bucks. Actually not bad for Downtown Aspen.

Good food but tight space. 1.5hr wait when we went at 5pm. (no sides). Service was excellent though but kind of pricey for a burger ($25 for burger and no sides lol)

I ordered the chicken burger and fries and it was so good! Love the dipping sauce. Totally recommend!

The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was a little on the crowded side, specifically in regard to noise. They probably have the best French onion soup I've ever had. Be prepared, it is a bit spendy. Steak was cooked and seasoned just right. Gnocchi definitely was scratch made. They also have a wonderful selection of wine.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the perfect cozy winter cabin vibe with its charming lodge decor — it truly feels like a mountain getaway. On a cold, snowy day, nothing hits the spot like their mulled wine, which was the perfect warm, spiced treat to start the meal. For the main course, I went with the classic boeuf bourguignon, which was rich, tender, and full of deep flavors. The French onion soup was just as amazing—packed with savory goodness and a golden, cheesy top that made every bite a delight. Service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel even more special. Highly recommend this spot for a taste of France in the heart of Aspen!

We so wanted to enjoy the experience but the service always felt like an after thought. Love the cozy setting although we were right by the front door and it was very chilly as people entered/exited. The French onion soup and fondue were very good. We never did get the schnitzel so can't comment on that. Kind of pricey for the experience. Unfortunately probably will not return.

Ambience and decor were beautiful. Not the best French onion soup I had. Our kobe burger took 15 min to come out after we were done with the soup, but since we were sitting in front of the kitchen, we saw the bread was already laid out so we knew it would be cold. Would still love back to try other items.

Incredible. No words. You've got to try it. The vibe is amazing. The service was great. Very intimate and cozy. Had the Foi Gra, escargot WOW! Crepe dessert & The dessert with the extremely long name is the cannoli. Everything was flavor explosion in your mouth! Dinner reservations are definitely needed. We passed on The fondue for the evening. Food is rich & prepared with skill & love! Cool little bar and open kitchen concept. And all of the decor and experience in itself!!!! Dress up here, don't go too casual. Will be back!!!!

What a delicious meal! The food here was incredible, and the cosy French atmosphere was really enjoyable. We were lucky to be seated at the bar as a walk-in group, and we loved being able to watch the chefs work in the kitchen.

**2025 Update:** I recently returned to the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to find that the menu had undergone some changes, along with a slight uptick in prices. While it remains on the pricier side, the quality of the food has continued to impress. This time, I decided to venture beyond their renowned fondue and sampled a couple of their main dishes. The beef bourguignon was nothing short of exceptional; it was tender, rich, and perfectly seasoned, making it a standout choice. The depth of flavor was remarkable, demonstrating the chef's skill and attention to detail. However, our evening didn't start off as smoothly as I had hoped. Initially, we received a call informing us that our reserved table was unavailable due to obstruction issue. After expressing our disappointment, they were able to accommodate us later in the evening, which I appreciated, though it took a bit of persistence on my part. Once seated, our experience took a turn for the better. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided excellent recommendations. The overall service matched the high quality of the food, making the dining experience seamless and enjoyable. If you're planning to visit this charming restaurant, I highly recommend securing a reservation well in advance—ideally several months ahead—since they only have eight tables, which can fill up quickly. Despite the rocky start, the exquisite dining experience certainly made it worthwhile. — January 2024 My recent visit to French Alpine Bistro was truly unforgettable! The food was exceptional, with the onion soup and fondue being absolute must-tries. The restaurant's atmosphere perfectly captures the charm of a French Alpine establishment. But what truly made our experience stand out was the incredible service. Our server went above and beyond to make our visit special, even surprising me with candles and a birthday sing-along for my dessert! Unfortunately, reservations are essential, ideally made four months in advance, but trust me, it's well worth the planning. Don't miss out on this gem!

Nice location, right at the base of the gondola station. Indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is ok, some of the high tables are too high and the lighting is odd spotlights down onto faces. Service is great and very friendly. Food was tasty. Dishes are large so they are great for sharing. The wine list is extensive and impressive.

This is one of my favorite spots in Aspen. I would start by recommending the cauliflower appetizer. Additionally the cheeseburger is the best burger in the whole valley (or ever) with truffle fries which are incredible. This is the place to bring your family and friends when they come to visit, or to pop in for apres ski. Great view of the mountain, located right at the base of the gondola. The kids Mac n cheese is also banger. Go here.

I absolutely love this place during or after a day on the mountain. I’ve ever only ordered the same thing off their menu, Waugh beef burger and truffle fries, but it’s an amazing meal and it hits the spot every time for me. They also have mulled wine in the winter and frozé drinks in the summer. 10/10 every time, does not disappoint on service or food or drinks, unless you’re just having a bad day.

Food was good, service was good, location and patio are great. Lots of complaints that it’s over priced but was fairly reasonable and HUGE portions compared to most other restaurants in the area. The mussels were really good and was a huge huge portion, salads were fresh and delicious too.

Onion soup was great, service was good, environment was good. The truffle fries (which I added $8 extra for) were quite underwhelming, not much taste and over fried. Overall other foods were pretty good.

Amazing view from the restaurant! I personally reckon that the outside table is much better than inside in summer so I do recommend outside table. There are bar tables outside as well but it seems very hot. Food was delicious but a little bit pricey. We ordered one fruit wine, beer, cauliflower and Bolognese then it went $100 including gratuities. Aspen is expensive!!

My Fiancee and I stopped in here today around 3pm. Everything was fine until we unfortunately had a bad server. Zero personality, he didn’t refill drinks, he didn’t clear plates and he left us with those plates sitting at the table for like 25 minutes. All while we were waiting to leave! The restaurant wasn’t even that crowded. I had a bowl of French onion soup, she had the salmon tartar and we had the fries. It was literally a hundred dollars. Avoid avoid. I was tempted to name drop him in this review but I will be more decent. We will never be back.
