Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Windsor Castle, located in the royal borough of Windsor, is the oldest and largest inhabited castle globally. It has served as the family home for British monarchs for nearly a millennium and is currently an official residence of Her Majesty The Queen. The castle features spectacular art, antiques, and a chapel within its grounds.
First visit. It's Windsor castle. Suffice to say lots of history. Entrance fee was reasonable. Can't take photos inside the building or the church. To cafes, one in the basement, one outside, tasty food but a little bit pricey. Staff were all friendly and helpful, ready to answer any questions of a practical or historical nature. Probably need a good few hours to look around, we took 4 hours. It can get busy for the inside exhibits so expect queues at peak times. Very moving to see Queen Elizabeth II's resting place. Definitely worth a visit of you're interested in history, even foreign history looking at the gifts sent from other nations.

This place is incredibly well-maintained and thoughtfully organized, with all its historical artifacts preserved with great care and attention. It offers a deep and enriching experience that takes you on a journey through time. You’ll need approximately three hours to explore everything at a comfortable pace. One important point to keep in mind—photography is strictly prohibited inside, which is completely understandable given the value and sensitivity of the exhibits. The atmosphere inside encourages quiet reflection and respect for history. If you’re planning a trip to London, this is undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable and enriching places to visit. You simply can’t afford to miss it.
Alvin V — Google review
An absolute must see! Buy your tickets in advance and allow yourself enough time to park if you’re driving. This is a great audio tour and the grounds are massive. I would make sure to see St. George’s Chapel where the queen is buried!
Stephanie S — Google review
Brilliant experience throughout the premises. Expect airport style security at the gates. Very well marked signs and walks are located throughout the premises. For a full ticket, a complimentary audio guide is also provided subject to availability. Several car parks are located nearby, recommend researching what suits you best. A cafe is located inside which serves hot and cold food. A few souvenir shops also available inside. Many areas are restricted for videography and photography. This is strictly enforced. On the upper side, it can get quite windy and cold even on a sunny day. If you're interested in the change of guard, ask the local helpers/workers by the cathedral.
Akshay D — Google review
Great castle, LOTs to look at. The stateroom displays are a lot to take in. So much cool stuff. The guards are cool. Wish the chapel would have been open.... absolutely worth a visit, hands down.
Richard — Google review
Simply spectacular, and fascinating to listen to the history of the castle, amazing architecture. There are no words to describe the richness of culture at that time, and luckily we have this amazing place that can remind us of what was here, and what people and warriors sacrificed for this country, as it is fading at the speed of light and unfortunately I don't know what it could be in a decade or two.
M. I — Google review
Charming and full of royal charm! Windsor is a lovely town with a truly regal atmosphere. The castle is absolutely magnificent — rich with history and beautifully preserved. Walking through the quaint streets, relaxing by the river, and exploring the shops made for a perfect day. It’s a must-visit if you’re anywhere near London!
Марта С — Google review
Visiting Windsor Castle was an incredible experience. The sheer scale and history of the place are awe-inspiring. Walking through the State Apartments and seeing the intricate details of the furnishings and artwork was like stepping back in time. St George’s Chapel was a highlight—stunning architecture and such a peaceful atmosphere. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the views from the castle are breathtaking. Definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in British history or royal heritage.

Langley Park Country Park, situated in Iver on the border of Bucks and Berks, is a historic park offering picturesque flower gardens, an arboretum, and a serene lake. The park features scenic trails with views of Windsor Castle and beyond. Families can enjoy the children's play area and tree trails while the tearoom serves hot/cold snacks and homemade cakes. With ample parking and great facilities, it's an ideal spot for families to enjoy some fresh air and beautiful scenery.
I came here today with the purpose of commerating the death of my cat, Norman. Originally he was from Langley and oh boy O I wasn't disappointed. All I can say is wow what a beautiful place is Langley Park. The walking paths are well kept and there is woodland and plenty of wildlife if you're into nature. Great place to walk your dog, jog or run too. I'm impressed Norms!

Absolutely stunning place. The setting is totally unexpected within the area it's in, and the grounds are kept totally flawless. The spa was fresh, super clean and very relaxing. Would highly recommend
Darren M — Google review
A surprisingly lovely park. Lots of cheap parking by the cafe. Open spaces conveniently near carpark was being enjoyed by families having picnics and playing games. We took the walk to the lake with our dog, past more open spaces and woodland. A very enjoyable couple of hours.

Massive area for walking. Lovely, varied scenery. It has a lake, mansion house, cafe, playground, several gardens and lots more. Dog friendly, but they signpost where they need to be leashed.

Beautiful and peaceful place. There is free playground for children's and plenty walks. Dogs can run free in certain areas Great place for a picnic, too. Toilets are available, and there is a little cafe with food drinks and ice creams. Unfortunately, you have to pay for the car park.

Haven't been to Langley Park since I was a child. Picked the perfect time to return when the rhododendrons are in bloom. Just wow. Beautiful place. Amazing trees lots of them named so you can learn all about each species as you go round. Nice café serving hot and cold food, ice creams, coffees etc. I had chicken and bacon baguette it was unfortunately incredibly garlicky. Large car park - parking is around £4 for 3 hours. Toilets near the café. Kids playground. Lots of trails to walk and just beautiful in April.
Louise — Google review
Lovely Country Park, can be enjoyed in all weather conditions. Statues, bridges, decorative seating, Lake all to be seen. The Temple gardens are beautiful when in blossom. There is a small cafe on site, selling a selection of food and drinks. There are also some toilets on site, situated next to the cafe. A fenced off kids play area can be found near the carpark and cafe. There is a small selection of climbing games, swings and a see-saw. Car parking is chargeable (RingGo). An overflow carpark is available on busier days.

Theme park
LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort is a playful property that offers thrill rides, Lego statues, and themed rooms. It also provides free Wi-Fi and breakfast for guests. While in the area, visitors can explore the town and surrounding areas on an all-day hop-on, hop-off bus tour that includes stops at various points of interest such as Windsor Great Park, Eton College, Datchet Green for river cruises, and The Long Walk.
A brilliant resort for any Lego fan! Not only that, but also brilliant rollercoasters. We would recommend most the “sky lion” coaster, what an amazing experience! Every build we could see was impressive, truly amazing. Amazing park, with some brilliant mini worlds. The gift shop was lovely, we bought 2 sets. Even a deep sea aquarium! Would recommend to anyone!
Silly B — Google review
Good day out, plenty of refreshment stations and water for topping up your own bottles. Also they have SPF50 sun cream dispensers around the park too. Only negative is the price of the food and drink being high. The queue for the gift shop at the end of the day was crazy too!
Sarah B — Google review
The rides and attractions are very good. Try to take food and drink with you as it is very expressive to eat and drink on site and food was not very good. Lost a star for this and the lack of someone cleaning the tables in the burger restaurant we visited. Rides suitable for kids over 0.7m with a couple (driving school) capped at about 1.3m. This is a whole day's worth of activities so arrive early to make the most of it. Download the app to see approximate queue times for the rides. That was a good indicator of how long to wait and allows you to plan the day and visit better as queue time fluctuate throughout the day.
Chris I — Google review
Legoland Windsor is a fantastic day out for both kids and adults! The park is constantly evolving, and the recent addition of the Speedway ride was a real highlight. During our visit, there was also an Easter event taking place, with themed Lego builds scattered around the park, which added an extra layer of fun. The Legoland app was incredibly helpful—queue times were accurate and made planning our day much easier. Compared to other theme parks in the UK, Legoland stands out for its reliability; nearly all the rides were up and running, which is a rare treat! There are plenty of food outlets, refreshment areas, and gift shops dotted throughout the park, so you're never far from what you need. As for the downsides: some of the ride operators didn’t seem particularly engaged, appearing distracted or uninterested. While this isn't unusual in theme parks, it was noticeable. That said, there were also staff members who were fantastic—enthusiastic, friendly, and great with the kids. Another thing to be aware of: if you stay until closing, expect long queues for the main gift shop and a slow exit from the car park. It can be a bit of a headache, so leaving a bit earlier might save you some stress. All in all, Legoland Windsor is an amazing place with loads to do, and we had a brilliant time!
Kristian J — Google review
I absolutely loved my day at legoland Windsor. First all the rides, decorations and whole park was just littered with fun Lego stuff to each corner of the place. Next the rides went from calm Lego train all the way to a super fast past race and sudden drop castle ride which was super fun. Also it was very fun getting on a ride. So fun and already want to go back!! I had so, so much fun I 100% recommend to anyone who likes Lego or fun parks with rides and stuff to get on 👍20/10👍
Isaac T — Google review
Great day full of fun. Lots to see and do. First visit with our 2 year old grandaughter and though she couldn't go on everything there was definitely loads to see and do. Take a picnic or enjoy fab food there with great entertainment.
Sue H — Google review
Great for younger kids. Waiting time upwards of 40mins for every ride. Fast past helped but could only use it one ride at a time with still a 40 minute wait. Food is crazy expensive £5 for an icecream and £13 for a hot dog. Legoland does allow you to bring your own food, so I'd suggest taking a picnic and also you can re enter the park with a hand stamp so you can leave all food in your car instead of carrying it around all day.
Chris C — Google review
Great day out, but a few things to be aware of We visited Legoland outside of the holidays and half-term, and it wasn’t too busy, which was a big plus. We managed to go on several rides without long queues, and the kids had a fantastic time. My youngest, who is 18 months, couldn’t go on many rides, but he still really enjoyed the playgrounds. They were very well designed and sophisticated, although unfortunately, some of the slides and play areas were closed. One downside is the food – as many other reviewers have said, it’s extremely expensive and not really worth it. We brought our own packed lunches and snacks, which worked well. Another thing we noticed were the paid games (like trying to get a ball in a hole or break blocks) which cost £5–£10 per go. These were quite difficult even for adults, and we saw staff offering extra attempts to some people for free after we had left the area, which felt unfair. If it’s £10 for a certain number of attempts, it should be the same for everyone. A highlight was that the kids truly enjoyed themselves, and overall, we had a lovely outing. We’ll definitely come back again. However, I was disappointed to find out after purchasing our tickets that there was a discounted rate for preschoolers and adults visiting during term time. This wasn’t clearly advertised when booking online, and I only noticed it once we were at Legoland. Since my children aren’t in school yet, this offer would have applied to us and made the visit more affordable. Lastly, parking is an extra cost, and some of the rides and play areas felt a little outdated. That said, it was still a fun and memorable day for the family.

The Slough Museum, housed in a charming Victorian building known as The Curve, offers an extensive collection of over 6000 objects and 5000 photographs that depict the rich heritage of Slough. Visitors can explore the town's history from the industrial revolution to modern times through various exhibitions and artifacts. Despite its grandeur, some visitors were disappointed that the cafe was not operational during their visit.
Nice little museum with friendly and helpful staff. To be honest, there's not many exhibits to look at, but more than worth the visit just to see the Thunderbirds exhibits. Not to be missed by any self-respecting Gerry Anderson fan!

Linda H — Google review
This is actually not a museum in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, it's a number of pods, spread out in the library. Although it's not a reason to come over all the way to Slough, it's still a reasonable way to spend half an hour or so for those who are in Slough anyway. Also, it's free of charge.

Carvery
Toby Carvery Langley is a classic family-friendly restaurant known for its traditional British roast meats served carvery-style. The London Road branch has received praise for its generous portions and wide range of food, particularly during Christmas dinner. Visitors have highlighted the attentive staff and cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal place for a hearty meal with loved ones. Another location, Toby Carvery Stafferton Lodge, prides itself on serving beloved British roasts properly.
Today’s visit to Toby Carvery was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant was bustling with energy, yet it still felt cozy and inviting—a perfect balance for a roast any day of the week. The star of the show was, without a doubt, the roast dinner. We are vegetarian so didn’t have meat but the selection of vegetables was fresh and delicious and plentiful. The Yorkshire puddings were golden and fluffy, and the gravy tied everything together beautifully. It was a hearty, satisfying meal that truly hit the spot. What made the experience even better was the exceptional customer service. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff were attentive and friendly. A special shout-out to Kelly, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her cheerful demeanor and efficiency added a personal touch that made the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, Toby Carvery delivered a superb roast dinner, great service, and a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a roast dinner with family or friends, and we’ll definitely be returning soon!

My father and I visited Toby Carvery while on holiday from the US, and we had an absolutely amazing experience! The food was delicious, with a fantastic variety to choose from, and everything was cooked to perfection. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service we received from Sharon and Heida. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience, and their warm hospitality made our visit unforgettable.

I was in the UK for work and was taken by UK friends to Toby carvery for lunch on the weekend. Food was good, not used to a carvery as not common in Australia. I don't normally write reviews but this was deserving. My post relates to an employee, her name was Sharon and no I'd never met her before. She was bubbly, had a sense of humour, attentive, followed up on how my food was, and if there was anything else she could do, she was amazing. She was a credit to the establishment, and must say they are lucky to have someone like her representing them to their customers. Thanks from Oz to Toby carvery for a good lunch and to Sharon for her outstanding service.

Well I've visited this place in front of my hotel because it was reommended by our hotel. and to be honest this place is quite deceiving. this place is big spacious clean and has a nice atmosphere. however i find their all you can eat very misleading as i wasn't told by the waitress that the meat is not all you can eat and it was only the vegetables pasta and whatever else that wasn't protein. additionally the portion they slice is super small! their vegetables are blend. i wouldn't recommend it.

Today 18.12.2024 my older friend and I went to Toby Carvery Langley for lunch and we have received an outstanding service from our waitress Helen. She was very professional but what makes her stand out is her kindness- she did everything possible to fulfill our requirements and nothing was too much for her! We left feeling we are valued customers! Thank you Helen ❤️ The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very welcoming and homely- just perfect for enjoying your roast dinner! And last but not least is the the beautiful Christmas decoration which really gives the sense of the Christmas spirit! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

If your here for a drink after work or booked a table for dinner . Service is 1st class and the food is . Well in my words " bloody amazing " Tummies all the way . Had another amazing meal here last night on the final night of the eat out to help out . As above. Was another great night 👌

Lovely food, lovely ambience and excellent service but food seems overpriced. I stay so close to Tummies but got an first opportunity to dine in today, though I have been there for drinks. It gives a good blended feel of old conventional pubs plus an restaurant. Food was fresh and had a distinctive feel of old British restaurant. There is a car park behind for all those who need parking space.

Really like the food and the atmosphere here. The restaurant has been open for years and you can tell its a well established part of the community. On the ceilings and walls there are drawings done by guests over the years which I think is really cool idea. The staff were also very friendly.

Family restaurant
Harvester Montague Arms in Slough is a family-friendly chain eatery that offers a variety of grilled meats, salads, pasta, and seafood. This establishment boasts a pleasant pub atmosphere with friendly staff and an impressive selection of beers. The outdoor garden provides a nice setting to enjoy good weather while watching aircraft take off and land, as well as spotting Red Kites soaring above nearby houses.
This is probably my favourite Harvester I've been to! I've been here a few times now and always get excellent service, the staff are so friendly. The restaurant is very clean, and the salad cart is always fresh and topped up. There's a good choice on the menu for most people. The food was really well cooked, hot and fresh, and came quickly. Last night it it almost came too quickly as it hadn't long started eating our salad. There's a large free Carpark, but just remember to put your number plate into the I pad in the rece area.

The customer service was outstanding from Connie and other members of staff. Also the food was delicious, as I ordered a double chicken burger known as the "dirty bird". My friend enjoyed her vegetable pasta and it looked Mouthwatering! Lastly the tables were cleaned thoroughly by a young man and everyone seems quite polite and the atmosphere was wonderful with the music. Salad bar was amazing too. The only thing to improve would be when paying for food, the staff could mention the app as I didn't know I could collect points or meals via the app but not to worry as I will come back again!!

I’ve been to harvester in other locations and the experience has been pretty good. To my dismay my experience at this location was far from that. The server who attended to us took really long from taking our order, to bringing the drinks and food and eventually took forever to sort the bill out. I was exasperated at the end of it. We ordered sides , the pork belly and a rib eye. While the sides and the pork belly were amazing the steak was far from even decent. It wasn’t a rib eye to begin with and so chewy and hard, I just couldn’t eat it and had to leave it half way through

Me and my partner had dinner here one Friday night, the food was hot and tasty and the staff was friendly, we were seated near a few family's which was a bit noisy but that's just one of those things. I never used the WC, but my partner said they smelt unpleasant and was off putting

Came here for my daughter’s 6th birthday. Was very disappointed with the food! Garlic mushrooms were dripping in oil, so we sent them back and got a second lot brought out. These ones were still freezing cold! Not cooked properly at all. The 8oz steak was asked to be very well done and it came out cooked well on the outside but still pink on the inside. The oil/grease on the plate in the picture was from the mushroom which was over cooked. Kids chicken strips, mash and carrot and cucumber sticks came out but had no cucumber and peppers instead! We asked one of the waitress regarding the cucumber and she told us they don’t have the cucumber sticks and to get the cucumbers off the salad bar. The peppers still had the seeds attached as you can see in the picture. For the price you are now paying for the food is really not worth it.

Went the previous evening and was turned away because we hadn’t booked. So booked for the next day. Was quickly seated and attended to by a pleasant young lady, Connie I think, took our order and brought our drinks. Had to ask for another glass as there was lipstick on my glass and I can’t remember wearing any. Wine was nice. Food was delivered to our table all looked very nice, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her Thaï fish cakes. I had mixed grill, meat was nice, the egg was like rubber with a lot of shell mixed in. The chips were Luke warm, I was disappointed poor value for money £17.49 for mixed grill. The salad bar was nice. The pub and restaurant were clean but there were a lot of annoying little flies. The young lady did give a £5 refund for our troubles

The Ostrich Inn is a charming 12th-century coaching inn located on the edge of Bristol Harbourside. It offers cozy and vintage-style rooms for guests. The pub-restaurant serves a menu of traditional British pub classics, along with Butcombe beer and a unique selection of rums and cocktails that pay homage to its nautical heritage.
We loved our stay at The Ostrich. It was our last night in England and the best food we'd had the whole trip. The service was great. The room as clean. And, the atmosphere, history, and lore of the place were fantastic! Plus, the proximity to Heathrow was ideal for dropping off our rental car and having affordable, convenient accommodations before our flight home to the US. We'll definitely be back.

Staying at Heathrow and wanted to check out some local pubs. This place was everything i expected from an old English pub and more. Great old building with so much character. Our server was lovely and helpful explaining the menu items. I of course had the fish n chips. Fried in clean oil, nice n crispy served with mushy peas. Very good!! The beef pot pie and wings were also tasty. All washed down with some good local pilsner. Happy we came here. Nice bartender n friendly people.
Spencer P — Google review
Avoid the feature room right above the bar. I booked it but I could hear the bar noise and I changed to the Ostrich Nest. The reception isn't well marked; it's at the end of the bar. Service was helpful and attentive. I enjoyed the bangers and mash, although the portion was smaller than expected. Recommend for early flights as cab was about 12 min/28 pounds. Convenient to a small grocery. I would stay again in a double room. The dining room and bar were cozy and convivial. Recommend if you are seeking an old inn with character rather than bland chain.

Our honeymoon started at the Ostrich inn, and couldn't have been more wonderful! A lovely room, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and special. Truly appreciated the staff! Food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner. Atmosphere was top notch and bus to the airport a breeze.

Brilliant food and service - Charlotte, our hostess, was fantastic, had a lovely personality and surely is destined for a great career in hospitality! If you are using Heathrow and staying overnight , make sure you reserve a table here…. Five Stars 🌟

The first time we stayed here we had a wonderful room, spacious and quirky. So this time we looked forward to our "Superior" room. Sadly it was in fact anything but. It was small dark and tired, not helped by two of the lights not working. However, the food was good and reasonably priced but with only one waitress service was slow. Breakfast was excellent, but again with only one waitress it took 40 odd minutes to arrive. In it's defence it is a great place to stay very near Heathrow and a dodgy room in a 12th century inn must be better than an ananodyne room in an airport hotel. (as long as you're not in a tearing hurry!)
