It was my first time visiting this mosque, and I was thrilled to set foot in a mosque in Turkey on the very first day of our tour. It was fascinating to observe how organized everything was, from the shoe storage to the immaculate cleanliness of the mosque. The men's wudu area was inside the mosque, open to the space, while the women’s wudu area was located at the back, a bit farther away. When we arrived, it started to rain, and the line to enter the mosque got us a little wet, but we didn’t mind—we were too excited to care. I had the opportunity to try on the Turkish version of the prayer garment (mukena) for the first time and prayed there. I’m not sure about the mosque's past, but I was incredibly happy to visit it with my mother. The calligraphy inside was grand, and the centuries-old building still stood proudly and beautifully. Outside the mosque gates, there were plenty of shops, including one selling gelato. My mom and I didn’t buy anything as we were still full, but we enjoyed the stroll. I hope that one day we’ll be able to visit this mosque again and spend more time there, as our tour didn’t allow us to stay as long as we’d have liked, hehe.

The parking is 15 tl per car. Some people parked before the summit for free but it's very steep and the entrance is free so it's worth paying 15 tl. The views are amazing. It was very crowded though. There's a cafeteria and a restaurant. The prices are normal for Turkey.

You just HAVE to see this beautiful gem! Highly recommend for any tourist. This please is filled with the kindest people and so so very beautiful to see. You can take photos inside and it’s extremely well kept. This was our favorite thing about visiting Istanbul!!! Super pretty all lit up at night time too! Gosh we could have just stayed and gazed at this place for hours! Completely stunning!

Absolutely stunning mosque. We visited the big three while in Istanbul and this was certainly our favourite by a good way. Amazing history, I'd recommend getting the museum ticket too, which was fabulous for all ages. Go to the museum first to find out the amazing history and then in to the Hagia Sophia.

Really cool, underground water tower architecture. That’s the best way I can describe it. Definitely something you need to see and experience in person. It’s beautiful and extremely unique. Recommend going at summer time when it’s really hot outside. The cool underground temp will save you from the heat.

Every area is crafted with care and intention, making it worthwhile to move slowly and absorb the atmosphere. You’ll discover nuances that might not be immediately apparent but become more meaningful the longer you stay. Overall, this place is a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be uncovered, so give yourself ample time to explore and enjoy every moment.

I frequent this mosque when I go to the Bazaar, be it spice or grand. There's something peaceful about this mosque. It's tucked away in the hustle and bustle of the market, so beautifully decorated and built. This was built in the 15th/16th century and it looks intact. It's famous for its iznik tiles and yes it is outstanding. The air inside is coooll, such a refreshing break.

This is an amazing site - if even slightly interested in history, then it's 'wow' !! Built and rebuilt, several times, with walls double, treble, quadruple thick. Some 15 mtres high, this was a network of houses, roads and fortress. The skills, without our modern day tools/machinery, were just incredible. Earthquake after Earthquake resulted in 9 new cities being built on top of each other. 10 year battles, fires and stories of wealth, burials and eventually abandonment. Lots of well maintained wooden walkways. Well signed and boards in Turkish and English. Little gift shop, toilets etc. We'll worth visiting. And most definitely worth a photo with the huge Trojan horse.

Wonderful trip to Nessebar. I visited old town. Stayed in new town. Easy visit to both as they are separated by a 10 minute walk. Old Town part offers super old churches, circa 5th century, and ruins from before that time. Newer part is the place to go for affordable meals and souvenirs.

One of the best places you can visit in Bulgaria! The Old Town will take you back in history as you lose yourself in the vibe given by the cobblestone streets! Plenty of things to see and visit, if you love history and exploring old places then this is the perfect place for you!

Review: Gondola Ski Lift, Bansko The Gondola Ski Lift in Bansko was a great experience overall. Since we visited on January 1, 2025, there were a lot of people, so we had to wait around 15 minutes in line. However, considering the holiday crowd, the wait time was quite reasonable. The gondola itself was working smoothly, providing a comfortable and scenic ride up the mountain. It’s a well-maintained and efficient way to reach the ski slopes, making it an essential part of the Bansko skiing experience.

An 11th century medieval fortress of the second Bulgarian empire. Entry to the entire fortress is 10RON and tickets can be bought at the entrance. Visited on a weekday during the winter which meant the entire fortress was more or less empty with just a handful of visitors. From the entrance up to the top of hill, the panoramic view of the city of Veliko Tarnovo is simply magnificent. The steps to the top were surprisingly comfortable and easy on the knees. Visiting the fortress was absolutely worth it and was easily the highlight of my day.

A very beautiful monastery, you can go inside without a ticket, but I advise you to get the combo ticket to see all the small museums they have inside, like the guest rooms and the old kitchen, which was spectacular. It cost us only €10 per person. The guide did not speak English, but she was very polite and walked us through the rooms. I would highly recommend it to everyone!!! there is so much history to learn.

The famous Vitosha boulevard really lives up to the hype. A great walk that leads you from the centre to the NDK. Full of interesting stores, restaurants and spaces to rest.

Moving and beautiful cathedral on par with the best in Europe. The cathedral features many scenes from Biblical history and is absolutely worth the time. When here, however, please be respectful and mind children, as this is indeed a working church with parishioners praying. Entrance is free and they ask for donations. There are also two gift kiosks where you can buy relics or prayer candles. We didn’t have lev unfortunately, and there was no way to make credit card donations or pay an entrance fee. Hopefully they will enable card payment for those of us who want to contribute.

Visiting Belgrade Fortress was one of the highlights of my trip to Serbia. The site offers a beautiful blend of history, nature, and stunning panoramic views, especially where the Danube and Sava rivers meet. The fortress is massive, and walking through it feels like stepping back in time. The old stone pathways, ancient walls, and towers are incredibly well-preserved and provide a real sense of the city’s past. There are plenty of walking paths and green areas, making it perfect not only for history lovers but also for those just looking to relax. I visited on a weekday, and it wasn’t too crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The park surrounding the fortress is peaceful and clean, with lots of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. What I loved most was the view from the fortress walls—absolutely breathtaking. Watching the rivers flow and the skyline of Belgrade from above is a moment I won’t forget. It’s also free to enter, which makes it a great attraction for any budget. I highly recommend visiting Belgrade Fortress if you’re in the city. It's a perfect combination of culture, nature, and history in one place.

A breathtaking place to see. The largest fortress in Europe that was according to my guide. On top, there are a lot of places where you can take a memorable picture that will last a lifetime. One of my favorite is taking pictures of the beautiful view of the country. The picture that I had on this place is the best. If your going to visit Serbia makes sure to add this to your itinerary. On the top of this there are restaurants and cafes if you suddenly feel of eating. Buying Souvenir is not gonna be a problem in this country because there are a lot vendors at the side of the street or parks where you can buy something from your friends and family. This place has no entrance fee needed it’s for free. From the city of Belgrade it takes around 1hr by car. Enjoy!

This place was so amazing. The quality of the segway tour was extraordinary and gorgeous. I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes sightseeing.

St. Stephen’s Basilica is an absolutely magical place to visit. The architecture is stunning, with intricate details and beautiful artwork everywhere you look. The moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels grand and almost surreal, especially with the light shining through the massive stained-glass windows. The craftsmanship is incredible, from the towering columns to the gold accents that decorate the interior. One thing I’d highly recommend is booking a tour guide in advance. Not only does it save you time by skipping the long lines, but it also makes the experience way more interesting. There’s so much history behind the basilica, and having someone explain all the details really adds to the visit. Learning about St. Stephen, Hungary’s first king, and his connection to the basilica makes it even more special. His mummified right hand is even on display inside! Even if you’re not super into churches, this place is definitely worth checking out. It’s one of the most important landmarks in Budapest, and the combination of history, architecture, and overall atmosphere makes it a must-see. Whether you explore it on your own or take a guided tour, it’s an experience you won’t forget!

The museum tells the story of the treatment of the Hungarian people between world war one and 1991. The stories told by those interviewed are distressing and graphic but if you want a good understanding of the hardships, conditions and treatment during that period then this is an amazing place to go. You can do the whole thing without an audio guide but lots of things are written in Hungarian so it's best to get the guide to translate it all into your language. No photos allowed of the exhibition but the book of it all in the shop is only 2500huf so it's not an issue. Cloakroom is free, use it the building is roasting.

Beautiful square with fantastic statues. It conveys a sense of grandeur and splendor to the viewer. It was truly magnificent. There are many places of interest around this square.

We got to the Salt Mines about 45 minutes early and just for future reference, you do have to take the tour on your exact time. Not an issue for us but something to nice. The guided tour was approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, showing you all the parts of the mine starting from places founded before the 16th century to places that were renovated up to 2010. Really nice to see all the places. Also there is a museum as well inside the mines, just to know they guide you through the meseum and it isn't something you can just wander and check out on your own speed. It just goes more in depth of what the tour already showed you.

Best to come before opening, I was 1 hour outside, in the queue, that side is very sunny and hot. The museum is manly about Krakow during WW2. Info about Oskar Schindler was in 2 rooms only. Apparently he was not that "white and fluffy".

The Wawel Royal Castle (Polish pronunciation: [ˈvavɛl] Zamek Królewski na Wawelu) and the Wawel Hill on which it sits constitute the most historically and culturally significant site in Poland. A fortified residency on the Vistula River in Kraków, it was established on the orders of King Casimir III the Great[2] and enlarged over the centuries into a number of structures around a Polish Renaissance courtyard. It represents nearly all European architectural styles of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods. The castle is part of a fortified architectural complex erected atop a limestone outcrop on the left bank of the Vistula River, at an altitude of 228 metres (748 ft) above sea level. The complex consists of numerous buildings of great historical and national importance, including the Wawel Cathedral where Polish monarchs were crowned and buried. Some of Wawel's oldest stone buildings can be traced back to 970 CE, in addition to the earliest examples of Romanesque and Gothic architecture in Poland. The current castle was built in the 14th century, and expanded over the next hundreds of years. In 1978, Wawel was declared the first World Heritage Site as part of the Historic Centre of Kraków. For centuries the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood, Wawel Castle is now one of the country's premier art museums. Established in 1930, the museum encompasses ten curatorial departments responsible for collections of paintings, including an important collection of Italian Renaissance paintings, prints, sculpture, textiles, among them the Sigismund II Augustus tapestry collection, goldsmith's work, arms and armor, ceramics, Meissen porcelain, and period furniture. The museum's holdings in oriental art include the largest collection of Ottoman tents in Europe. With seven specialized conservation studios, the museum is also an important center for the conservation of works of art. With over 2.56 million visitors in 2023, Wawel Castle is the most visited art museum in Poland and the 20th most visited art museum in the world.

Impressive medieval town square with plenty going on. Clean and safe, this is a nice place to visit as a solo female traveler. You can sit and soak in the history without being bothered.

It's worth going here to get some understanding of the scale and suffering that Jews and others had handed out by the Nazis during their time in power. Walking around the camp just shows what man can do to fellow man. The suffering and death on an industrial scale. The museum does well to preserve the past so we don't forget. There is a lot of walking involved so plan ahead especially if you take a guided tour as they move quickly but do give you lots of information about the camp and the people who went through the gates, many for the last time.

Amazing street, filled with restaurants and shops. I would say the heart of the city. Lots of palacial buildings. This is where the well-off used to live back in the glory days.
