A delightfully British experience. Been on this several times over the years, but my first experience today of the Santa Special. Staff and volunteers had gone to so much trouble, route master bus trip, steam train, brass band at the station house, gifts and magicians for my daughter. A real pleasure. Gentle innocent fun.and really good value. Some really dedicated people that run it and I can only admire the dedication and skill set involved with the engineering side of things. Amazing! Will come again!

It's a great little line,what I like is the enthusiasm that the place gives off,services are ran by diesel and steam and its just a nice trip down memory lane.who doesn't want to ride in a slam door carriage and feel the spring in a 70's coach seat..excellent, you can taste the age that the trains come from in the sights and smells..Also riding the vintage buses between epping,North weald and Ongar is a special treat to.long may these experiences continue. And of course lovely countryside of Essex.
Amazing experience for family Halloween with steam locomotive and full size train. Ghost on the train and train stations were absolutely fantastic as you can see on the pictures. Effort and good will from people working /volunteering there is something that's really rare today, so 10/10!!! Well done and see you for the Christmas!

Visited on Friday 20th Sep 2024 for the E∨ Autumn Diesel Gala. It was my second visit to this preserved railway and it was as good as the first. Parking is an issue, as parked in Ongar, where you have to park in public parking some distance from the station. There is an alternative on these gala days where you can access North Weld via a heritage shuttle bus service from an underground station. They had guest locos and a detailed timetable to enable you to schedule what trains you wished to run behind. Only 2 stations but a decent length of track and North Weld has a decent cafe and shop/stall again on Gala days. You would need to check what runs on non-gala days but either way, you and anyone you bring will have a fun experience here. As ever the volunteers are what make these places with dedication and knowledge. Cab rides are available if that takes your fancy (at a fee)
Absolutely fantastic experience. Lovely fish and chips on a steam engine. Enthusiastic and courteous staff. A wonderful evening out for a very reasonable price.
The recent Beer Festival was great fun whatever your age and gender. Plenty of variety of beverages on offer. Something for everyone. Well done to all the staff and volunteers for organising and executing such a well attended and highly popular event. Only snag for me personally was the toilets being out of action on the trains, otherwise five stars would have been given. I look forward to the day once a through connection is established at Epping.
It was a delightful experience to spend a day riding on the steam train. It offered a unique opportunity to travel back in time and experience train travel as it was in the past. The nostalgic sounds of the steam engine, the pleasant aroma of the coal fire, and the charming tooting of the train all contributed to an immersive and unforgettable journey.
Loads to do for all the family, especially on heritage bus days. Friendly volunteers. Can't wait to try their dinner service event.

Audley End House and Gardens is an impressive English Heritage Jacobean mansion set in Capability Brown-designed gardens. Originally built on a grand scale by the first Earl of Suffolk, it later became a royal palace when purchased by Charles II. Lavishly decorated rooms showcase silverware, priceless furniture, and paintings, making it one of England's grandest country homes. The estate also features a fine landscaped park designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.
Audley End is a beautiful building with lovely grounds, a fantastic art and taxidermy collection, and gorgeous interior design and furnishings. The flowers weren't in full bloom yet in March, but they were beginning to appear. The house tour is easily the most child friendly tour we have been on. The nursery was fabulous. Our 3-year-old daughter was able to play dress up, do puzzles, play with the dollhouse, ride the rocking horse, sit on furniture, and generally have an absolute blast, which continued later on the playground. My husband and I had a wonderful time as well, and brunch in the Tea Room was delicious! Every single employee we spoke to was a delight, informed and helpful, and very kind. You absolutely must visit. We will be back.

Had a wonderful day at Audley End. A spectacular house with natural landscape and gardens, all from the master, Capability Brown.
We spent a day finding our way through the woods and stumbling into the kitchen gardens. Everything in so well balanced and thought through.
We had no problems with getting around with the wheelchair, apart from the house that doesn't have access to the upper floors. They have provided a veiwing room ,showing the upper levels, with lots of information.
Great places to eat, and to have a picnic.
Very nice place to visit both castle and gardens ! Everyone was so nice and very mindful giving information about the castle and its history. The gardens are also wonderful to visit with many colors and flowers to admire. I came here walking from Audley End train station, a good 30min walk, nicely indicated and fitted out so you won't loose yourself !
It is an interesting and engaging place. The house is an odd collection of memorabilia, some fascinating, some rather strange. The gardens are beautiful, well kept, and a lovely place to walk and sit and enjoy the scenery. The trees especially are wonderful. The walled garden is a marvel and changes so much as the year unfolds. Definitely somewhere to return to regularly.
This is a stunning house and garden to explore. The house inside is beautiful and there are a lot of well informed guides around to pass on their knowledge. Take time to explore the wider estate as well as the kitchen garden, stables, play area, tea rooms and shop.
Loads of picnic tables around or just bring a blanket and chill out on one of the many grass areas.
This is a lovely place to come for a summer afternoon to enjoy some history and a beauty of the building followed by a lovely cup of tea, we also enjoyed the horse show and Parking was ample. Definitely worth having the family or single pass for English heritage.
As members, we chose this amazing location for our Mother's Day outing. While the house was operating tours only, we thoroughly enjoyed our booked tour. The lovely gardens, a great shop, and an additional shop offering affordable clothing contributed to a brilliant day out. We certainly plan to visit again.
Large 17th centuryJacobean country house near Saffron Walden in Essex with extensive gardens designed by Lancelot ( Capability) Brown.
The house was originally three times it's size now but is nonetheless very impressive with lavish interiors.
As well as the grand side of the home you can also get a view of life downstairs in the kitchen,laundry,dairy and more.
The estate is run by English Heritage, you will find helpful room guides in many if the rooms in the house, they are lovely to talk to and a very knowledgeable.
A short walk takes you to the stables where there are two horses and a pint in residence and at times you will see them being exercised and can speak to the stable hands.
The gardens are large and quite beautiful and quite peaceful, there is a waterway with various wildfowl. At the rear of the house you'll find more formal gardens and a parterre.
Parking is free, there is a car park for blue badge holders close to the house, the main car park is a few minutes walk away but there is a buggy to transport you to and from the house which runs throughout the day.
There is a tea room/ cafe on site and public toilets .
This is by far the grandest English Heritage property I have visited so far and it's easy to spend many hours here.
Entry is free for members.

Ely Cathedral stands as a magnificent testament to Gothic architecture, captivating visitors with its intricate design and historical significance. Nestled in the flat Fenland landscape of East Cambridgeshire, this grand structure rises dramatically against the sky, evoking awe just as it was intended by its Norman builders after their conquest.
Possibly one of the most interesting and historically significant Cathedrals in the country. Built on a site of an Anglo-Saxon church 20 years after the Norman invasion, this Cathedral presents the very best of Romanesque and gothic architecture alongside renovations made by the Victoria's. Of significance is the octagon tower, a feat of building at its time with wooden beams so large, local roads needed reinforcing to carry them in. A real jewel in the crown of Cathedrals

Spectacular cathedral with a magnificent octagonal tower dating back to the mid 14th century.
The grounds are free to visit, and provide excellent views of the cathedral's elaborate exterior. Neatly maintained gardens and a fine collection of medieval buildings make for a very pleasant setting.
To truly appreciate the cathedral, you'll need to look inside. The interior is stunning, with a remarkable Victorian painted nave ceiling, beautiful stained glass windows and ornate decoration throughout.
Entry is charged at £14 for an annual pass, with tower tours an extra £11, lasting about 1 hour. We had limited time in Ely so skipped the tower tour and just went for the £14 ticket. This includes a well produced interactive audio guide which really helps you get the most from your visit by showcasing all the highlights.
Facilities are good, with a café serving light lunches and refreshments, a gift shop and toilets within the cathedral grounds. Having visited a number of fine cathedrals recently, some of which were free to visit, I was initially surprised at the entry cost. Any concerns were about value quickly vanished upon stepping inside - Ely is not just one of the finest cathedrals in England, but surely in the world.
Beautiful cathedral set in some lovely grounds. The surrounding area has some nice walks and places to eat and drink by the river. Inside the cathedral are stunning ceiling works, and there are beautiful stain glass windows.
Lovely little place for a visit. Great Norman cathedral, with a cute high street right behind Ideal for coffee or lunch. Free parking in the town which is great. The cathedral ground are extensive and quite pretty. It will cost you £16 each though to enter the cathedral.
An amazing church. One of the most beautiful churches I have visited. The size alone was amazing. The inside was packed with lots of history and provided lots of information. You do have to pay for entry, but they do provide a self guided audio tour at no extra charge. Being winter, the church was a little chilli inside. The grounds was very well maintained and has a small herb garden. This is a must to see in England.
Lovely cathedral. Really beautiful with a fascinating history, which is well described. Only snags are..no free av guides if you don't pay (ie children's, surely the ones who will benefit the most, carers etc). Cafe is well outside and was shut for refurbishment. Being disabled with no notice till we got there was not great (and you then have to walk ALL the way round the cathedral to get back in)
It is a great historical location and a fabulous cathedral. I took a guided tour that focused more on local and British history than on religion. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and he really added to our experience. I found that the whole place is well run; although it is a little expensive, it is a good tour.
We enjoyed our visit. Lovely cathedral. Our ticket price included return visits for a year. We also paid for a tower tour, which was excellent. The chap taking us on tour was brilliant, sorry i cannot remember his name.
The only negative was on both visits we were accosted about buying a ticket. We had and went through the ticket area, but felt as if we were be accused of pulling a fast one. The layout possibly does not help with this and they may need to rethink how you enter the cathedral. We have never had this issue in other cathedrals we have visited.

What really stood out for us was how engaging, helpful and knowledgeable the volunteers were. Really talkative and made a huge effort to talk to us during our stay. Made us feel very welcome! Thank you all for the effort you clearly put in to what you do.
We felt that the refreshments available down near the American hanger were not adequate to meet demand. Not enough seating and the two ladies were clearly run off their feet. More provision at the end would be good. Or perhaps allow people to take their drinks around with them. Can't see what harm that would do really!!?!?
We were also surprised that the American exhibits seemed to be more modern, more interactive and more interesting than the British, which is surprising considering we're in Britain. Would be good to see the British side have equal investment.

Fantastic day out! Excellent parking facilities, wonderfully warm welcome and quick check in. All the volunteers we encountered were helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. Fantastic displays and exhibitions. Everything was clean and very well maintained. We ate in the American cafe which was small with a small offering but the food was fresh and tasty. We had a look in the bigger restaurant and the food looked really very nice. Highly recommend for a family day out!

Loads to see and all the exhibits have info boards. I especially loved the Conservation in Action area where planes are being worked on. Well designed children's play area, clean toilets, lovely food. At present they are moving exhibits around so if you've been before it will be well worth going again.
Me and my teenage daughter turned up on the main gate on Good Friday. I didn't buy tickets online. Hardly any queue and we were in under 5 minutes buying tickets. Two of us £40. We headed straight to the hangar with Concorde which is on the left when you come out of the main gate building. Unfortunately most of the planes were behind the fence. I guess there is some improvement going on. You are still able to walk on the balconies and take nice pictures. I highly recommend visiting Concorde. The inside is very tiny compared to the modern aircraft. From there you can walk alongside the runway and visit each exhibition. There is a lot to see. Don't rush. There is a restoration centre, Battle of Britain or hangar with I presume privately owned WW2 airworthy planes. Then there is a beautiful glass hangar dedicated to the US Air force filled with amazing pieces. And the last exhibition is the Land warfare building. It is a bit dark there but still worth seeing. We were very lucky to see the departure of 4 Royal Netherlands Air Force's AH-64 Apaches. Breathing. There are plenty of toilets and places where to eat. We bought food from the burger van. It was tasty but well overpriced. £10 for brisket burger or hotdog and £4 for chips. All of them outside were similarly priced. I haven't tried indoor cafés. I was very surprised to see a lot of different nationalities visiting this museum. Maybe as it is not far from the Stansted airport and Cambridge. There is a USAF memorial dedicated to fallen airmen. I would like to see something similar dedicated to Czechoslovakian and Polish pilots serving for RAF in WW2.
If you like aircraft this is the place for you. It's a live airfield so planes come and go. Large hangars with planes, some outside you can go aboard. It's also an IWM (Imperial War Museum) so lots of history including a land exhibit with tanks etc.

Very nice museum - and it's free! I think one can get through the whole museum in one afternoon. There is a good selection ancient sculpture as well as of European art but it's mostly less famous works of the most prominent artists interspersed with the most prominent works of some less famous artists. Also quite a few really nice porcelain pieces both from Europe and from Asia. If I lived in Cambridge, I would probably go there quite often.

Wow, what an incredibly impressive museum this is. Based on the exterior of the building, I was expecting it to be good, but I had no idea just how good it was going to be. The exterior is large, fancy and very elaborate, with many imposing pillars by the entrance.
I walked in and the interior was also fancy, with a spectacular ceiling and ornate wall decorations. I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member, who offered me a map, which I was more than happy to accept.
As I walked around the museum, I couldn't help but smile at the number of impressive artefacts that were on display, with some of them being huge pieces. I was particularly impressed with the section on Egypt. The displays were some of the best I have ever seen at any museum in the world.
I found the map to be useful to navigate the museum. However, many of the rooms did not have a number, so at times, it was a little hard to keep up with the map and know which section I was actually in. It would be really helpful if the museum would number all of the sections because at present, it appears that only some of them are numbered.
The museum has clean toilets, a great cafe with plenty of seating, and a fantastic gift shop. It has already become one of my favourite museums and as an added bonus, entry is free too.
I plan to visit many more times and cannot recommend this museum any more highly!
I’ve been to many museum in Europe, but honestly, I think this one is in my Top 10, maybe even Top 5. It is not overwhelming, but it’s surprisingly easy to wander around. The exposed paintings are so gorgeous and the architecture is mesmerizing. Also, ITS FREE AND NEATLY ORGANIZED!!!

Absolutely amazing - we spent hours roaming the exhibits. I'd start at the top floor with paintings then work your way down to pottery and the ancient Egyptian exhibits. There were loads of school groups in there but they weren't disruptive.

Inside the chapel was stunning. 17.5 pound per person is actually expensive but it was worth it. Amazing atmosphere.
We visited Cambridge for the day and stopped by King’s College Chapel. Our in-laws, who don’t read English, walked into the King’s College park without realising there was an entrance fee. To catch up with them, we ended up buying tickets. It turned into a funny moment rather than a problem. The chapel itself was impressive and peaceful, with its high ceilings and stained glass. We didn’t stay long, but the visit added a special touch to our afternoon. It’s a place that stands out, even if you're just passing through. We left smiling, glad we made the stop.

It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. If you visit Cambridge, this should be definitely in your bucket list. To go punting in river Cam. It was a wonderful experience. You can book a boat for yourself, or you can share a boat, and if you're confident enough, you can ride on your own.
If you’re in Cambridge, make sure to go “punting” on the River Cam. Rent a boat for £30, spend a few hours paddling down the river. You’ll cross the Bridge of Sighs, the Mathematical Bridge, and many others. Many guided tours available. The red boats offer alcohol for sale. Excellent leisure activity in the afternoon with family or friends.
As soon as my boat start journey I feel I’m in a magical land for the time of my River Cam tour on the punt. Can’t explain the atmosphere in words. A must experience thing in the whole of Cambridge.
The weather was cold but bright day and got some pics. I would recommend not focusing on taking pictures much coz you’ll loose the feel of the punting trip. This river is a source of great nature beauty, swans, bridges as well as colleges universities n many historical buildings. There must b lovely walks especially in summer or spring when the weather is on peak n gives u all to make an amazing atmosphere.

Amazing family day out!
We had a fantastic time at Hertfordshire Zoo. The park is very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. There’s a huge variety of animals — from big cats and monkeys to reptiles and exotic birds — all looking healthy and well cared for.
One of the highlights is the World of Dinosaurs near the entrance — a brilliant, interactive trail featuring life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar! Kids absolutely loved it.
There’s also a great café with a good selection of hot food, drinks, and snacks, plus plenty of places to sit and relax throughout the park. You can tell the staff really care about the animals and the visitor experience.
Highly recommend for families or anyone who enjoys animals and nature. Definitely one of the best zoos we’ve been to!
We had the best day at Hertfordshire Zoo, I truly couldn't fault anything! The ticket staff at the reception were lovely, helpful and interactive with the kids. We were blown away by the dinosaurs! Everywhere is so clean and professional, and the animal exhibits are exceptional. We also had a delicious lunch. Absolutely top day out for everyone.
Had a brilliant day at Hertfordshire Zoo. Lovely people and a lovely place. You can tell they care about the animals and are adding lots of new areas/updating older ones. The big cats were amazing to see up close, and the World of Dinosaurs is really fun. They have lots of park areas and places to eat.
The highlight of the day/main reason to visit was the One Zoo Three Meet & Greet. The little super fan got to meet the lads, and they were absolutely lovely—so friendly and sweet. Even though a very excited super fan was completely overwhelmed they were so kind and made it such a special experience.
It was lovely to hear about all the work they are doing from the Big Cat Sanctuary as well!

We had such a fantastic day out at Hertfordshire Zoo! It’s a brilliant place for families, especially with young children.
The zoo is beautifully laid out, easy to navigate, and full of fascinating animals that are clearly well cared for. We especially loved the big cats, lemurs, the cheeky monkeys and my baby loved the dino themed park within!
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions.
The play areas were a huge hit with our little one, and there were great spots for picnics as well as food options on-site.
Everything was clean and well maintained, and parking was easy too.
Highly recommend it for a fun, family-friendly day out. We’ll definitely be visiting again!
Had a wonderful day here and at the World of Dinosaurs. It is a great place to take children. Play areas for children are designed well. Food outlets and restaurants are available here. Spent around 3 hours here, including time for something to eat. It was fairly busy on my visit. Staff were welcoming and very friendly.
Best zoo in the country! I've been to many over the years with my children and this was the best! Very clean, great facilities, friendly staff, price was reasonable. Much more level and less spaced out than many out there, animals looked very healthy and looked after, please see my photos.
Really well thought out Dino park with some nice touches. The animatronics are good too and most models move and they are pretty much to scale. The zoo is well laid out and lots of eateries on the path too with talks about animals at set intervals. There is a short train ride in the park and a show for younger kids on a stage. Food is not cheap (where is these days) but tasted good and portions were not small. Parking was ample and upon entry to car park I was asked if I was a blue badge holder (I'm not) but I thought was also a plus. My 7 year old loved every minute and wants to go back even though we completed the whole park in 4-5 hours.

I had an absolutely incredible skydiving experience with North London Skydiving, and I can't recommend them enough! From start to finish, the team was professional, friendly, and reassuring. My instructor, Garry Small, was exceptional. He made the entire experience feel safe and exhilarating at the same time. His clear instructions, calm demeanor, and genuine passion for skydiving helped ease any nerves I had and made the jump truly unforgettable.
The entire process, from the initial briefing to the breathtaking freefall, was smooth and well-organized. The views during the descent were spectacular, and Garry's expert guidance allowed me to fully enjoy the thrill of the moment.

I had this skydive as a birthday present for my 18th and it was the best experience ever! The staff were all so friendly and welcoming from the start. Tim was an amazing instructor and Alex was a fab cameraman. I did the 15,000 ft jump and it was totally worth the extra money. The staff kept us informed on the weather and got us up there as soon as they could. It was a long day but really worth it. Can't wait til next time!
I bought the experience as a birthday present for myself and as a way to organise a fundraising. The people there were very helpful and trained us on what to do and what to expect from the skydive. I did the 15000 feet fall and it was the best thing ever. The instructor, Marius Vancea, who I did the jump with, was very friendly and patient, responding to my 1000 questions. He made the experience even better by allowing me take the steer for a little while and guided me throughout. Sean, the photographer, took lovely snaps and i am really looking forward to see the videos as well.
Over all, it was well worth the money. I would recommend North London Skydiving Centre to anyone who wants an adventure of massive proportions, and I will be returning for sure.

Glen was AMAZING!! ️️I’m usually terrified to even climb a ladder but he made me feel so safe and made me laugh and I had the best time. The camera man was a legend too, so fun and reassuring. Honestly try and get Glen, he’s a superstar and made this day even better. The view was incredible. Circle rainbow across the clouds. The whole team are lovely ️️️
I booked for my son to jump for his 16th birthday, from start to finish it was like a well oiled machine.
Very straightforward and easy to book, staff replied to my endless emails very quickly.
We received regular emails on the lead up to the day and were fully informed about what to expect.
On arrival, check in was easy and organised. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Great facilities whilst waiting, clean toilets and a cafe selling hot and cold drinks and snacks.
The instructor went out of his way to let us know what colour chute to look out for and explained everything.
We bought the video and photo package but still had an opportunity to take photos ourselves.
We have already been sent the photos and video footage and it's amazing.
It was the perfect day from start to finish, one my son will always remember.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is thinking of skydiving.

Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows, a National Trust property, features a wooden flour mill and an artificial mill pond. Visitors can explore the 18th-century working watermill and enjoy walks along the Ouse Valley Way, which runs alongside the Great Ouse river. Electric riverboat tours are available from St Ives to Houghton Mill during summer, offering opportunities to witness flour milling on Sundays.
Great place for swimming, canoeing, or long walks. The mill is definitely worth visiting, check the opening hours. There are toilets and a tea shop next to the car park. You can rent boats and canoes. Car park and facilities close usually at 4 pm, but you can still drive out, so don't worry about leaving your car for longer, drive up to the gate (not too close) and it will open. Beautiful scenery, we did an 8k walk (check out the map in my pictures, red trail, with a green shortcut south of the lakes) but you have many options, including an around 20k one recommended on a map just south of the mill. There may be mud and narrow paths in tall grass, so aim at good weather. Don't miss walking around the picturesque village with many old houses, a bit like going back in time. Recommended.

Review is for the campsite. Still trying to work out if its worth it. £96 for two nights in March! You get a grass pitch with ehu and thats it. The shower block is immaculate although I’m guessing 3+3 might lead to queuing when its busy. There’s also water, drive over grey, washing up and a laundry. Its also a shame that the river side is now fenced off from the site, although it is accessible from one end. The upside is that the location is amazing, with the mill, teashop, Houghton village (2 pubs, great shop) you can get on the river, rent a boat in high season, walk to St Ives which is delightful. We were there when it was very quiet (3 vans) and loved it but not sure I would feel the same at busier times.
Always interesting to visit. Something new to notice and appreciate every time. The volunteer gentleman was really good and pointed out some fascinating features of the mill.
Great little place tucked away, lovely original watermill. Campsite also right next to it, you can bring your canoe or paddle board and launch in front of the mill. You sit next to the river on a sunny day with a picnic, so peaceful. There are walks as well.
The house and water mills are not on operation everyday. It needs booking, check on one of the pics I took to see the booking availability. The surround vicinity is a huge meadow, a long river, a camping site, boats available to hire, a well preserved village with old houses and church built in 13th century, old and new post office, tea shop - pub, and if you have kids you may need a playground as well. The place is just beautiful! Take your bike and you can bike around!
Superb old water mill which still produces its own flour, in a picturesque setting. On the day we were there they turned the water wheel back on (apparently it hadn't been working for quite a while). There's a good mixture of information boards, working models and of course the actual working mill itself! There is also a lovely walk out around the grounds.
Lovely little place. The tour was really good, the guide was very good and made it very fun and very informative, even encouraged you to touch and feel everything which most national trust places don't, even got you involved in milling. Definitely need to book the tour. Don't just turn up if you want a tour of the mill, which I would highly recommend.
Great walks by the river. You can hire canoes to go on the river. Great part where you can wild swim or paddleboard. I highly recommend getting there early as can get very busy, will definitely be going back.
Visited on a Sunday with my friend. It happened to be Mothers Day, not sure if this impacted it at all, but it was VERY busy. We didn't enter the mill, but instead walked around the reserve. A beautiful, scenic walk, not too arduous with reasonable paths. We stopped at the centre on our way back and had tea and cake, which was very nice.
A nice day out. National Trust membership makes it a cheap day out too.

I’d heard the pumpkin picking was “just a few pumpkins chucked in a field” but I disagree. They’ve really put a lot of effort into the decorations - the cafe area and pumpkin field looked fab. This isn’t the place to go if you just want to grab a pumpkin, it’s an autumnal photo op / experience. Having said that, there’s a huge range of pumpkins to choose from in all sorts of colours, and some really good quality ones. We struggled to choose our favourite to take home!
A few things to be aware of to manage expectations. The pumpkins are not still on the vine so you don’t really know if they were grown locally, compared to some places where they literally cut it off in front of you. But it means you can pick them up for photos and there’s no waiting around for someone to cut it off for you. Also be aware that the parking gets very muddy, I saw a car skidding on the mud. Not really much you can do about it as there are no other parking options.
The only thing I’d change is the price - paying £4 an adult just to get in then up to £6.50 per pumpkin is pretty pricey. It would be good if the entrance cost could be taken off the price of the pumpkin. We did have a good time overall though and were there for a good 2-3 hours, between the pumpkin field and a trip to the cafe.
Massive place. Lots of lavender and they have a seating space as well. They also have lavender ice cream. Toilet is also okay. You can cut the lavender with scissors and have a bag (you just need to pay for the rent) and ensure you cut the sides only. It was a fair weather when we went there and we enjoyed it.
Pleasant if you live in the city.
I think they'd benefit from not allowing people to harvest the lavender and sunflowers as there are many bare spots that are less than beautiful.
Still nice if it's local but not worth travelling too far as your visit would be brief.

Nice field. Unfortunately, the day we went, most of the flowers were in a bad state. Either way, it looked nice. I feel like it would have been so beautiful when the flowers are fully bloomed. They have a car park with plenty of rooms and a few benches up in the farm for picnic.
You can buy lavender products from the store and, of course, enjoy a coffee from their cafe.
Really fantastic place to visit in the summer. It was a unique experience from walking, eating, and picking flowers. I booked the tickets a day earlier to enter quickly.
I recommend wearing something long, especially for the legs, as you walk through the flowers; they have spikes. I got the scissors and the bag from the shop, but it cost £4 and wasn't worth it. So bring your own scissors, gloves, and baskets. You can also bring your picnic rug to enjoy the view.
The place provides some basic food. I tried the lavender and lemon cake, and it was fantastic. The flavor was perfectly balanced. I also got the mixed ice cream, and the flavor was amazing.

We visited early August when the lavender and sunflowers were in bloom. Quite a stunning place with plenty of photo opportunities. It's open quite late in the summer which is great!

We visited on the 22nd of June. It’s a family friendly place to visit. The lavender fields looked good and it’s reasonably priced for entry. We booked our tickets online as there’s a slight discount rather than paying at the door. The parking is on a field nearby and there’s no charge for the parking. I will definitely return in future to see how it looks further into the bloom period.

Its a good outlet shopping center (has a few outlets) with large car parking which is quite economic. The scenary of ducks, central fountain is always pleasing to the eyes. The only addition i want is more brands, halal food options.
As a wheelchair user this place was great to visit. Nice smooth floors both inside the shops and in the street area. Plenty of parking and everything was clean and tidy. We visited the garden centre cafe for food and weren’t disappointed. Grandchildren loved shopping for accessories and daughter in law found a birthday present she liked easily.
Springfields Shopping Centre in Spalding is like the theme park of retail therapy—you walk in with a wallet and walk out wondering how it’s suddenly empty! Right from the start, the spacious walkways greet you like they're saying, “Yes, we are going to give you enough room to spend comfortably.” No dodging rogue shopping trolleys or elbowing through crowds; it’s so roomy you could almost break into a victory dance after finding that perfect item on sale (but maybe save that for the parking lot).
The selection of shops is vast and varied—think everything from fashion and footwear to that niche gift shop where you end up buying things you didn’t even know existed. Fancy a leather-bound journal for your poetry? You’ve got it. Need a cat-shaped tea cosy? No problem! There’s something for everyone, and likely a few things for your cart you never knew you needed.
And oh, the deals. You can practically hear your bank account mutter, “Please, no more sales!” but the offers are too good to resist. Every corner has a new discount or ‘buy one, get one free’ sign that practically whispers, “Treat yourself.” Before you know it, you’re armed with bags and bargains, strutting through those spacious walkways like it’s a fashion runway.
In short, if you’re looking for a place to get lost in a sea of deals and leave with more bags than you have hands, Springfields has got you covered. Just bring a good pair of walking shoes, and maybe a spending limit!
Great place for a family day out. Plenty of shopping and the adventureland is great value for money. Kept the kids entertained for hours while mummy went shopping. We finished off the day by exploring the woodland walk and of garden areas before going to the kitchen for a nice meal.
Good choice of clothing shops and nice wide smooth walkways. Disappointing that most of the food outlets closed early By 4.00 the kitchen, noshery, granary and American diner were all closed. Parking is easy and not expensive

Attended the Cooking with Chillies Experience. Tasted a variety of fresh chillies and sauces, made some food to take away. Owners lovely people with a wealth of knowledge and clear passion for what they do. Would recommend a visit and will be returning in the warmer months for sure.
Had a fantastic time on the ‘Cooking with chillies made simple’ workshop. The owners were very knowledgeable, open and friendly. There was plenty to do on the workshop and we had a lovely day out. All in all great experience and I learned a lot. They also sell chilli plants and sauces on site which is really handy, including their own home grown sauces from their own chilli harvest. I only wish I turned up sooner so I could relax in the café, not to worry as I’ll definitely be revisiting at some point.
Loved it from beginning to end, deserves more than 5 stars ! Went on the chilli tasting tour for two. Shaun the owner gave us a very informative talk on how to grow chillies from seed, then we had a tour of the farm and picked our own chillies. After that we went into their shop, tried their huge range of sauces followed by chilli tasting, from mild to hottest in the world! After that we had some amazing food in the restaurant. Definitely going back.

Overall it was a great experience.
Joanna who is the owner of the farm and our guide for the tour was really informative and has a real passion for chillies.
After a short talk about the various variety of chillies, we had a sampling session in the cafe of various chillies, chilli sauces and marmalades, starting from the mildest up to the hottest…the Carolina Reaper! There was plenty of milk on hand should you need it!
Afternoon tea was lovely, a variety of sandwiches all made with various chilli based sauces and marmalades.
Would certainly recommend for an afternoon out.

So turned up at edible ornamentals, the place was easy to find straight off a main road.
The parking was ample.

I really want to get a scorpion chilli there was none available so I was given a few pods.

My first visit to Peterborough Cathedral was a truly magical experience. The intricate details throughout the Cathedral are so impressive and beautiful ,it was almost overwhelming, I felt amazed and astonished, breathless from its beauty . The painted glass is incredible and colorful. Everywhere you looked around was breathtaking, and it was difficult to leave the Cathedral despite spending over half an hour there. It's spacious and delightful place to spend some time and enjoy the moment . The ceilings were astonishingly amazing. Overall, the architecture was delightful.It was one of the best Cathedrals I've visited in the UK. I would highly recommend a visit.
Visiting Peterborough was really unique art place !
This cathedral makes me feeling like I am in France as you can see so much similarities with the french Notre-Dame cathedrals.
Peterborough Cathedral, one of England's finest Norman cathedrals, has a rich history spanning over 900 years, starting as a monastic community in 654 AD. Initially called Medehamstede, it was rebuilt as a Benedictine monastery after a fire in 1116, with construction of the current cathedral beginning in 1118. The abbey was dissolved in 1539, and later reopened as a cathedral in 1541 by Henry VIII.
A magnificent building, which is, unfortunately, infested by Roman Catholicism. Let us not forget that the foundation of all cathedrals is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who has RISEN.
Firstly, we are not to make brazen images, idols, figurines, or images of anything, and that includes Him: Exodus 20:4. Yet a tall, horrifically ugly crucifix hangs from the ceiling upon entrance. Look at the metal face. It is like a demon. This was a gift to commemorate the death of a priest in 1975. Crucifixes have no place in Christianity. We are born again of the Spirit because of His resurrection and ascension. Therefore, why remember Him for the 6 hours or so that he hung, physically, on the cross?
Secondly, the notes explaining the Christian faith that accompanies the old latin and medieval bibles are so watered down. It portrays the 1% of the Bible that portrays Christ as accepting and loving everyone, yet hides the other 99% that only true believers know.
Thirdly, the calendar of events is all secular nonsense. Several past events are shown as having been cancelled. I am not surprised. This is a place of worship, not Peterborough Arena. It is for God-worship, not devil-worship.

A nice experience for the kids. Visited on December 23rd, 2024, with the family. Kids loved the trip, with feeding the alpaca a unique experience. Giggles and giggles. It was freezing but we could still enjoy the drive to see the animals.
I would love to visit again ,in summer, and enjoy the train ride without the chill.

Was my first time here, came with my boyfriend. This is an Amazing place and huge enclosures and amazing to see animals up close. Staff are always on it keeping visitors and the animals safe very well run. I love it here!!
We did a VIP giraffe trip. Hand fed giraffes and then had a guide take us around the safari route in a land rover. Our guide ( Helen) was a credit to Woburn, very knowledgeable with the animals and knew how to get close the the bears, rhinos, elephant and others.
The day wasn't cheap but for the memories not expensive. A great day out and a fantastic birthday memory
The safari drive is ok. Nice to get up close to a select few animals. The zebras seemed particularly scared/unhappy/bored? I’m no animal expert but as nice as it was to get up close to some of these, it didn’t feel like they were living their best lives. Unfortunately some of the facilities are either height restricted (big slide, pedal boats) or cash only (ice creams, alpaca feed). For 3 & 4 year olds those things can be kinda disappointing. There’s a lack of ‘character’ to some of the features: the mini jeeps are literally a fenced off bit of grass for a track. No safari theme, animals or anything to continue the theme. Food options are typical theme park: beige frozen pizzas or hot dogs at prices you’d expect. Overall, the kids enjoyed the experience but it could have been so much better! Safari took an hour and we spent 3 hours in the leisure area which included a soft play and various animal enclosures. If you’ve not been in a while, still go- it’s a bit of fun. Just don’t go with big expectations for anything outside of the car safari.
Mixed bag of a day, the road safari is great in that you get to see animals like giraffes, zebras etc. walking right next to car. There is also enclosed sections for lions/tigers/bears and monkeys. This can be repeated as often as you like.
Sadly the foot aspect is a little lacking, not a huge amount of animals, lots of coffee shops etc. were closed (Feb half term). Some redeeming features like plenty of indoor/outdoor play areas. Plus picnic areas etc.
Very lovely driving through the park and seeing the animals up close. After driving around a few times you can go for a nice walk. Definitely recommending to everyone.
Shout out go the guy in charge of the Swan boats. Because it was my first time he recommended us things to do and a few "hidden" times of some events

Sea lion cove was the worst I felt like wasted £6 and my 30 minutes.
Had to wait from 3:15 for the 3:30 show and then the women came out with the sea lion and talked constantly like a robot. No tricks no fun things and only for 10 minutes. From 3:31 to 3:40.

Fantastic place for a lovely walk. It is so vast you could do a different route in a different direction every time! Solid paths most of the time and lots to see. Plenty of things for the kids (of all ages) to play on and see also.
Pleased with this place as there is something to do for everyone. Great views, play area, refreshment huts, cafes, ample walk routes for all ages, assault course, BBQ area, hire and ride, jogging is allowed, dog friendly, wheelchair access but the routes are stone so be warned, parking is the only thing you pay for and can get really busy. However even though there were plenty of people in the area we could always find a quiet space to be at one with nature or take some family pictures. There are many individual lakes you can walk around and not just one big lake like some places. We didn't really get to see everything and spent 3 hrs there with a little one in tow so when we go again we can explore more areas. As said before it gets busy so the best time to be there is 10am or earlier but but 11.30am especially during school holidays it's rammed. Oh staff are friendly and food is ok nothing special but enough to sustain.
Our community had a lovely picnic at Stanwick Lakes. Thanks to Ian who had arranged everything for us at site. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Beautiful place to visit for a day out. Children enjoyed their time at play zone. BBQ Area was packed with our people. We had a great day with games, dancing, bingo and food. We were nearly 200 people there.
Great park with lots of open space, play area was great! Kids loved it. Can also hire bikes over here. Peaceful walk, lovely indoor cafe and they also do pottery painting. Would definitely recommend!

A great location for accessible walks. The area has lots of well-well-maintained paths leading in and around the water features. The cafe has a decent selection of reasonably priced food, which was really tasty. Lunch & walking one of the main routes took 2 hours, so we'll have to go back again to explore some of the other routes. Our dog loved it, even though he was on leash, so that's a plus too. We saw quite few families with young children, and there seemed to be quite a few things for them to do. Well worth a visit.

The guide we had, for the hour, was very informative and knowledgeable.
The ticket you buy entitles you to come back as many times over the year. Great value for your money. Hopefully I can take advantage of this as I definitely want to come back.

An amazing place, packed with interesting places to explore and informative guides. An important part of our history not often explored. Recommend booking the hour long tour upon arriving which help you to gain your bearings and spot which places to go by yourself afterwards. These amazing people with unbelievable brains helped shape our future.
Absolutely amazing. So much to see and do, but it is vast! You need to decide on moving through things quickly, or returning to ensure you see it all. Your entrance gifts you 12 months re-entry. The gift shop is great too. Really pleased we visited. We took two older primary aged children, and they too were interested to a degree. There are lots of children activities and a children's workbook for purchase for a £1.
Another amazing day out. Came as part of a coach tour 3rd visit in last 5yrs.
Always seems to be something new to see and learn about. Including the new A.I experience.
But it's the true history of Bletchley is why you go. Learning about the efforts conducted during WW2 is truly amazing.
Speaking with some of the staff on site you need a least 2 days to take it all in.

My 13-year-old daughter and I had another fantastic day out. But the real reason you go is to learn about Bletchley's history. It is very astounding to learn about the efforts made during World War II. You need at least two days to process everything, according to some of the on-site workers. Since my ticket is good for a year, I want to return shortly. which will be worthwhile. A significant yet little-studied aspect of our past. Encourage reservations in advance.
Fantastic place to see how history was made. The exhibitions are interesting and thoughtfully presented. You can feel the presence of the incredible staff who worked so hard on decoding vital wartime communications.
It is an amazing place with plenty to see and do. It is definitely worth booking on a tour for an hour with one of the excellent and informative guides. The story of Bletchley Park is spellbinding and the buildings of exhibits are numerous. You will need to return another day in order to take it all in, so much to read, so much to view, especially as the ticket can be used again for free entry within a year. I am definitely returning to finish looking at all the exhibits.

Good experience for us as skilled skiers having a refresher before heading to alps or for our kids having beginner lessons. The slope is short but being real snow it’s realistic and much easier to learn on. Staff helpful and never felt that busy, even on a January weekend at peak time.

Great experience to get back into skiing. We booked in advance, but the lessons were still fully booked, so we just got a ski lift pass for a 3 hr session. Slopes were quiet, so no wait at the bottom. Facilities are good.If you can already ski, then 3 hours is probably the right amount of time.
It was a bit scary to look at but when you get used to it, it's great fun for any age group. Families with mum and dad and grand parents were all enjoying.
The staff was very helpful.
If you don't have a pound coin, you can also use euro for lockers.
If you have already bought tickets on line or in advance then don't stand in the queue as there is a screen just to check in, which we didn't know and wasted a lot of time in a queue.
Did a day's beginner course to prep myself for a future ski trip, Aime did the day with us. Absolutely brilliant teacher, feedback to everyone was very personalised based on what our short comings were but put forward in a very constructive way that helped everyone better themselfs and their technique. By the end of the day, every member of our group (I believe there were 8, maybe 9) was going down the steepest training slopes. If I could give her more stars I absolutely would, she's very experienced and it showed, most people in the group were total newbies and she made everything look easy.
As for the venue it self also 5/5, all rentals (helmet, skis and boots) were included in the price, as for trousers, jackets and gloves they were not, that being said for hygiene reasons I'm not surprised, this was also conveyed in an email beforehand so planned appropriately.
There are drinks and food on site, lunch was included in the price of the day course and you had several options to choose from.
As for the training area it was quite large and only populated by staff and other newbies so you didn't have people zooming past you and there was little concern that you'd hit someone accidentally.
All in all very worthwhile experience, I'll be returning here to get some more practice in the future prior to a skiing trip.
I have had a day course and Coaching Development lessons here. The staff are always friendly, facilities are clean. Keep in mind it is chemicals snow so feels a bit different.

Incredibly good place for learning. Snow feels real and the ski teachers are excellent. We need to drive 3 hours to get here, but it is completely worth it. Some of the amazing ski teachers that I want to thank include Daniel, Dom, and Jules. There is also a shopping centre outside it for the parents. Receptionists are very nice and the facility is very good, including a lesson slope and a (taller) slope for general use. Would DEFINITELY reccomend.

A great and popular place to visit. Reasonable parking costs , and good places to eat and drink. The views are stunning. My only concern is there's no segregation between you walking and the inexperienced bike riders on there hired electric bikes. It's an accident waiting to happen. However we will be back as so much more to see and do.

What a stunning place, we took the 2 kids and the dog, we walked around part of the lake, we went to the church on the water, we had a picnic, went to the cafe for a coffee. you can have a bbq providing it's off the ground. surrounded by lovely trees it was a very pleasant day with the family. plenty of bins for your litter, it's a very clean environment. Parking was easy, you can also hire push bikes on site and go on a boat ride around the lake

The place is mainly a public park with beautiful picturesque Lakeside walks with spectacular views of the lakes and wildlife on show and there is also picturesque Aboretum to see. Within the public park there is the theme park with excellent variety of rides on offer plus farmyard animals and exotic animals to see along with wonderful relaxing train ride to complement the lot. The theme park is divided into zones which include The Thrill Zone, Adventure Zone and Splash Zone. In the Thrill Zone the rides that are on offer include Dinosaur Valley, Honey Pot Bears, Paratrooper, Galaxy Invaders, Rocky River Falls & Ladybird Coaster. In the Adventure Zone the rides that are on offer are The Sway Rider, Clown Coaster, Carousel, Lighthouse, Cups & Saucers, Wickey Bear Theatre, Roundabout, Meerkat Manor and Wickey's Farmyard. In the Splashzone the rides on offer include The Water Chute, Jolly Jockeys, Lake Boats & Mr Wicksteed's Cars. There are some interesting informative information boards dotted around the site detailing some of it features and their history adding its wonderful heritage nostalgic element. The staff are also very friendly and helpful making the visit all the more pleasant. There are various food outlets selling a variety of great food and drink at affordable reasonable prices and also there is also a great range of souvenirs in the shop. Overall this a truly magical, enchanting, charming & Delightful, which a for truly fantastic day out to take in some heritage and nostalgic. Definitely well worth a visit whilst in Kettering.

I’m writing to share some feedback following our recent visit to your park. As a family with two autistic children, we were hopeful for an enjoyable day, especially as we were advised when purchasing tickets that we would be issued blue bands to allow access via exit gates for rides – a system that has helped us greatly in other settings.
Unfortunately, our experience this time was confusing and disappointing. Upon arrival, we were simply told to use the exit gates for rides, with no clear explanation of any rules or limitations. Some staff were very understanding and allowed us on without issue, but others made us feel uncomfortable, even giving us looks and comments that suggested we were doing something wrong. One ride operator told us we could only use the blue band for one ride every hour – something we had not been informed of and which contradicted what other staff allowed.
We ended up leaving after just two hours, despite having spent over £100. It was disheartening, especially because in the past we’ve had positive experiences at Wicksteed. This time, however, the lack of staff training and consistency around accessibility left us feeling let down.
The park itself is beautiful, and we truly wanted to enjoy our time there. But without clear guidance and properly trained staff, the experience became stressful rather than supportive. I hope you can take this feedback constructively and consider improving staff training and communication around accessibility so that all families can enjoy the park.
An awesome Theme Park with lots of rides for smaller kids and teenagers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The park is split into 3 areas with some walking between them but it is not too bad. I would recommend the wristband pass at £25. It is pricey, but each ride is £3 so it doesn't take long to get that back. All in all, it is fantastic, family park.
Great day out for the family with its picturesque landscapes. Go a little further and you will find its houses many different species of wildlife even down to the native crayfish. The guys there are amazing baring in mind most the people there are actually volunteers and not in paid positions.
There's somthing here for everyone from wanting a coffee to exploring the grounds, From the play park to the rides. Its a great day out
Overall a nice day. However it does feel very run down. There was also a wasps nest in the main climbing frame of the playground. The train was good fun. The café is quite nice. If you're just looking for a nice day to walk around the park it's perfect. But I wouldn't go expecting a fun day out full of rides.

We visited to take part in the park run on a Saturday morning. Parking was very easy, £3 for 2 hours. The park itself was very clean and well looked after. We enjoyed our time there.
This used to be a great reasonably priced small theme park. It now seems run down and derelict with fewer rides but charging more for a wristband and an addition parking charge.
Sadly it seems the COVID curse has hit this once great theme park.

We went for a comedy show that I surprised my partner on valentines day.
I loved the atmosphere, very friendly and supportive staff. The arena was absolutely full, people were laughing mostly... some people were a bit shocked by the amount of extreme language and black humour...
It was extremely difficult to find parking and to come our at the end, we waited more time to come out of the parking then the actual show time.
Great show this evening at the story of guitar heroes. Sound and lighting good and staff helpful and organised. If there's one criticism, the toilets and seating need a refurb.

Sally assistance hound and I attended the Royal & Derngate theatre to see 2:22 A Ghost Story for the Wednesday afternoon screening and what a wonderfully entertaining and fabulous experience it was too! Sally and I were extremely well looked after by the "ushers in orange ties" who are specifically there to help folk with special needs. It was a wonderful play. There were about 600 people present in a 1000 seat theatre. Worth the effort and cost in my opinion. Well performed. Well written plot and dialogue. I loved it! Note well that if you're affected by bright flashing lights and exceptionally loud noises this play may not be for you!

Attended the Museum on the Saturday and Japfest on the Sunday, the museum was incredibly informative with information on the history of the track, how cars work, current cars and bikes, older vehicles and also has some fun interactive aspects, and a video compilation of famous races at the end. Japfest was also wonderful, a huge collection of Japanese cars, where you can display your car, or simply attend on foot, with plenty of stalls for apparel and car parts, along with food stands, and if you're so inclined you can also take your car onto the track to race other attendees. Both were a great experience and would recommend for car enthusiasts
What a great day out. Staff that looked after us during our experience day were great, particular shout out to Oscar and Erica. Instructors also great and cars, well, nothing left to be said other than look forward to being able to own the car I drove. Big shout out to Porsche for allowing my 21 year old son to drive the cars. He loved the 911 gts.

Long time since I was last here and have to say plenty going on!....Visited for Japfast25 and enjoyed it....nice to see cars on track and plenty food/drink/ merchandise stalls ( if a little pricy)...will certainly go again in future!
They just need to think about the spectators more and it would be perfect. Half of the toilets were closed and we had to walk miles to get anywhere rather than being allowed to go the shorter routes.
Our stay at the Silverstone Escapade Hotel was nice but had disappointing moments.
The reception staff are fabulous.
Our room was initially lovely until we noticed a lot of dust that hadn't been cleaned for a long time, mainly in the bedroom. Room amenities are very good except no glasses for water or wine.
Plenty of large lovely fluffy towels.
Breakfast in the restaurant was also very good and just a two minutes walk from our room.
Amazing views of the track from the huge restaurant terrace.
We'll definitely stay again.
Went to show our car at Japfest. Was told of roadworks so got there by 6.30 am. Went to our stand after waiting for about 15 mins. Well organised. Bit of advice, if you can take your own food and drink, it’ll save you a lump of money and a lot of time. Also comfortable shoes are a must as you’ll walk miles (although there is now a land train to help those with young kids and mobility limited people)

Visited on Christmas Eve, and had an amazing day. We loved that so many rides were open - the buffalo rollercoaster was the highlight! My kids enjoyed the soft play and drop slides too. We were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was, and we barely had to queue. The Christmas lights looked lovely at dusk, and we loved waving Santa off with his firework finale. Thank you for the candy cane too Mrs Claus 🤶
There were firepits to toast marshmallows, and the snowman trail was fun too.

It's pretty good. I went in Summer 2021 and it wasn't too busy. It was a very hot day, so you should be dressed for the occasion. If you want to go here, tickets will cost around £100 depending on the amount of people.
Good for families with younger age range, wish the notice about the water park opening months had been more prominent. Our daughters had a lovely day, loved the log flume (although queue was too long and slow), indoor slides and soft play, the lying down ride and the play areas. Some rides broken on the day we visited which was a real shame. Good value for a small theme park.
We went on 23rd December for there winter themed day, we had a great time kids absolutely loved it. Food and drink all very reasonable prices to. Will 100% try it out in the summer.
It was such a fantastic pleasant place to take the children. The small barn has had new improvements, so you now have 3x more slides and the tree top sky walkways.

It is one of the best amusements park in the UK I have ever been to. Great attractions such as water parks, which are available in the summer, animal farm with a variety of different animals, birds of prey, variety of rides, and many more. Highly recommended for people in any age!
A great family theme park, with a fantastic outdoor waterpark. A good variety of rides for all ages was a little busy, but it was a weekend in the summer. Huge free carpark.
I visited the park with children ranging from 1 - 8 years. There was something for everybody to enjoy and plenty to do.
We took our own food, so I can't comment on what is on offer.
The overall park is a bit tired-looking, but nothing that any child would notice.
I don't think i saw a single member of staff smiling 🫣 a bit of a miserable bunch, but again, nothing that a child would pick up on.
As for value for money, I was lucky enough to find a half price deal, making it just £30 for a family of four. Would I pay full price? Probably not. But it was a super day out!

Althorp Estate is a great place for a nice walk in a place that is full of history. Obviously there is the Diana side of the whole place as this is the place where she once lived but the estate on its own is absolutely stunning. We have been in other historic houses in the UK, and I have to say that Althorp is in our top 5 for sure.
Great amenities for visitors, very clean toilets and the coffee servers nice sandwiches along with some warmed up items. Great atmosphere and reasonable prices. I could highly recommend it to anyone.

We went to the Althorp Literary Festival to listen a talk by the Rev Richard Coles; he was fantastic.
Afterwards we walked around the beautiful gardens and then around the lake where Princess Diana is buried.
Also had some food and a drink in the courtyard which was very nice.
Very dated, slightly tatty in places and a lick of paint wouldn't go a miss as a lot of patches all over the walls and wood panels.
The staff however are splendid and have an immense wealth of knowledge of the families history
The gardens are exquisite and well kept.
The lake housing the late Princess of Wales is beautiful and very tranquil.
This alone is worth a visit.
I had visited Althorp on a previous occasion, to be exact in October 1977 - some 47 years before! No giftshop then, there were some tables arranged close to the bottom of the main staircase, and my main memories of that visit of so long ago are of the lovely young 16 year old girl that we chatted to, who was selling postcards and souvenir guidebooks etc, and ascending that impressive staircase. At the top was to be found a portrait of that same young girl.
Those visiting today hoping to find memories of the late princess will be disappointed, for there are few. If however your interest is to visit a charming 500 year old stately home, that is well presented, and contains many paintings and beautiful rooms, then you will not be. A shame that entrance to the upper floor on our visit was not by that lovely staircase, but by a much less grand one. Also that the view into the couple of rooms which you cannot enter, is restricted. The gardens are pleasant, but by no means spectacular. The walk around the lake, and of course the island, is not to be missed. There is a tree planted by the late Nelson Mandela. The Stables Tearoom had adequate snacks, and the gift shop, although small, was on the whole, reasonable. The better than average guidebook I thought was very reasonable at £6. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Remember, there is no photography allowed inside the house. In all, the estate is well worth a visit, one which I would definitely recommend.
Only open for a few weeks a year note summer so make sure you book early. The house is where Princess Di drew up is great to see and the art collection of a good standard. Take a walk to the Princess Di memorial lake where she is buried, tastefully done and a beautiful place to sit, reflect and be at peace. Highly recommend, about £27 for an adult but if you join Historic Houses (about £80 for the year) membership it comes as part of the deal so entry is free. Enjoy!
First time visit having wanted to go for long time. Exceeded our expectations. The house is a family home but full of treasures. The staff or guides were some of the best ever, hugely knowledgeable and totally immersed in the history of Althorp. The lake and memorial to Princess Diana is beautiful and a must see.
A real mixed bag. Firstly the general car park is a little way from the house. Although not busy , it is recommended you book before you go. If you are not a historic house member then entrance fee at £25 is a bit steep. However the house itself inside is superb (less said about the outside the better, though insipid would be a good word). There is some wonderful art, porcelain and furniture in the house. The guides in the room , although few , are very knowledgeable. Let's be perfectly honest the house is the best part, the lake where princess Diana is buried is nice enough , but there are no real gardens to speak of , and very little on Princess Diana. If you are hoping for a shrine to her , you will no longer find it here. There is a distinctly poor gift shop , which seems intent on supplying Charles Spencer books than offering any variety. The cafe is passable but won't blow your mind. In summary , go for the beautiful house as there is little else here.
We travelled quite a distance (Lancashire) to see this historic site and also to pay our respects to an unforgettable people's Princess and great lady. Although there is no longer a museum dedicated to her memory I think her memories live on at this estate for all to see...her resting place is in a beautiful location at the lake and there's also a wonderful memorial at the side of said lake. Present within the walls of the historic Althorp house is a very large wall hung painting of Diana along with her father, brother Charles and his wife....although we'd all like to see more tributes of Diana at the end of the day it was her home, it was also the Spencer family home so I think personally it's a tasteful balance between the history of the estate, the Spencer family and a gentle tribute to our Princess. I would definitely recommend visiting not just for Diana but the history surrounding the family and the estate.

We stayed at Kilworth House Hotel while attending a funeral of a friend. Our stay was outstanding and just what we needed at such a sad time. It was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and very comfortable and it was so lovely to come back to a clean and tidy room every time. It was great to be able to relax in one of the lounges. We will definately come back

This is a 4.5 star review, based on multiple visits for meals only. The grounds here are always stunning, year round and whatever the weather. The Orangery is bright and atmospheric, the library more intimate. The other interiors are tastefully decorated, well maintained and have just the right amount of interesting objects to amuse and entertain. The food also never disappoints, including restricted dietary options. Sometimes there are some faults in service, like bringing the wrong flavour of tea at our latest visit, and the dining experience would be improved with a better management of noisy and disruptive tables and guests. Overall, we keep going back because it's the best place of its kind in the area, by far.
My husband & I have just had a lovely 3 night Christmas Package break at Kilworth House. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival & from there it just got better.
We have stayed once before overnight after a show, but have to say this 3 night Christmas break surpassed our expectations.
Every member of staff ensured everyone was well looked after.
The presentation and taste of the food was so good on each day, credit to the hard working chefs, you are amazing. The 7 course Christmas Day lunch beat us!! - but it was delicious. The service in the restaurant (Orangery) was excellent & requests were dealt with straight away.
A big thank you to everyone involved who made us feel special. We can't wait to return for Christmas 2025 & hope to meet up again with some of the nice people we met, who also stayed for this Christmas break, many said they will return next year.
This is the most beautiful hotel to visit in the heart of the most outstanding countryside where a warm welcome awaits you. Excellent food, wonderful accommodation with outstanding service from both management and staff. Whether it's a short stay, dinner, lunch, or a special afternoon tea or a theatre experience or special occasion or wedding, this hotel certainly has everything you could possibly desire.
I booked afternoon tea as a surprise for my Husbands 70th birthday. When booking I mentioned this and asked if anything special could be done to mark the occasion. I was advised that they could do something for him.
I received a call the day before to confirm that we would be coming and again was reassured that something would mark his birthday.
We had a lovely reception, beautiful tea, great service; however, there was no recognition that it was his birthday.
This disappeared me as it was his surprise and I wanted to make it extra special for an important birthday.
I did mention this when paying and was advised that something would be said to the kitchen. This was a little late as the experience was slightly deflated for us both.
Attended a Murder Mystery Dinner.
The hotel itself is magnificent and achieves its aim of making guests feel like they are staying at a country house. Great views from the lounge and some grounds to walk round.
My room was excellent large and ready earlier than expected. Spotlessly clean as well. Reception and housekeeping teams spot on and delivering excellent service.
Food was excellent and very good quality.
Now for the not so good.
1. Food and beverage service team: Attention to detail poor and service slow. Lounge table had sugar on it from a previous user, our order placed on top of it. Slow to serve and at Breakfast had to send back wrong order. Meals all served slowly, but very good quality when they came.
2. Dinner. The actors doing the murder mystery put the amateur into amateur theatre. Also, the structure of evening poorly thought out, the event started at 7pm yet no starter till 8pm and main course not served after 9pm. By the time my main arrived, I had mentally checked out from mystery and just wanted to get my meal.
3. Limerick contest: This place is trying to be a high-end establishment, so surprised the actors thought reading out several times a limerick about Manuel putting his dick in a brick (Yep they really did) would be the perfect way to finish the evening off. Great for those who had drunk a bit and as a man of the world heard this type of stuff many a time, but it's one for the lads night out at the rugby club or at the student union, rather than a mixed audience including my 92 year old mother in law.
We went to Kilworth House Hotel for a Christmas Rat Pack event. It really was a beautiful house and setting.
The food was very good, the service was fantastic and the actual event was superb.
There were a few minor niggles however. I sat on one of the tables by the kitchen door, and I had the occasional drip of water tapping on my head from the leaking roof.
The event also very abruptly ended. As this was a Christmas party, it could have gone on for a little while after the event. As soon as the excellent 'Rat Pack' had finished, the lights went on, the bills were handed out, and that was it. I felt their was an opportunity for a few more beverages and a little more Christmas cheer, which was a shame.
But all in all, we had a lovely time.
This is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and lovely facilities. I was there for my niece's wedding and it was a fabulous weekend. Brides to be......look no further

Visited as a group of three to watch Kinky Boots, the seats were very comfy and the view was really good.
It’s a very modern theatre, you walk around the entirety of the stage and several toilets and bars are dotted around. The toilets were very clean and the bar staff were quick to serve me- for two soft drinks and a large wine it was £13.00.
I look forward to coming back.

Great performance for the kids after Christmas. My only critism is that the boosters are dirty and could do with a good clean. Also a member of staff was very rude and abrupt to the kids when they were enjoying the pirate photo opportunity and were told to hurry up.
We went to The Curve to see Muriel's Wedding, which was outstanding. Great actors, great staging and awesome musicians. The support for those with disabilities is the best I have ever experienced in any theatre. I have to make a special mention to Kieran, who was at door D and he was so good at his job, both professional, yet very personable. Cherry on the cake, he said goodnight Richard when we left the theatre at the end, totally beyond outstanding customer relations.
Seen a couple of musical productions now. Great views from all seats , multiple bars with short waits at interval. Cafe food excellent.
Went to see Muriel's wedding on the 1st May, absolutely amazing. Facilities at the theatre were excellent and staff were very helpful.
Absolutely LOVE this theatre, it's by far the best one I've ever been too. The seats are really comfortable, lots more space than other theatres, the assistants are always super friendly and helpful. I also love that there is such a variety in the shows, comedy etc

We saw Muriels wedding. It was a great show. The curve theatre is such a nice local theatre. Got served drinks quite quickly and did not have to que for too long for ice cream. Was quite hot in there though.

The displays on the injuries seen on his skeleton, and the DNA evidence proving that the remains really are those of the king are very thorough and engrossing. The tour finishes with a look at the site of his grave, clearly visible through a glass panel in the floor. The staff were really helpful, and very knowledgeable. One lady spent quite a while with me explaining the details of the grave site which was especially useful. The on site cafe is also very nice, and was quite quiet when I visited. This is a must see site in Leicester.

Brilliant, but not for kids. There is more to read than to see. However, it is certainly not boring for someone interested in history or for a person who is curious and keen to discover new things.
And once done, you are right by the cathedral and the pedestrian streets full of interesting shops, restaurants, and major brands outlets.
The museum was very interesting to visit. Children engaged in some quests and looked for the clues everywhere in the different rooms, even in the cafe and the garden. They love this period as they studied it at school. They enjoyed speaking with the guide there about the Richard III, his character, was he a good or evil king?, the mystery of the two nephews in the tower, the story that led to his burial place... The most interesting thing is that the tickets are valid for one year. So if you cannot finish the visit or want to come again you can do so as many times as you like! Keep your tickets safe or the proof of payment confirmation email if you booked online.
I love how history is carefully outlined and preserved at the centre.
It takes you through the archaeological quest and the great find.
It's definitely worth a visit.
So much information the volunteer guide at the end of the exhibition was very knowledgeable about the excavation site on where King Richard III was found even to the point of giving info that apparently not many people knew about.
The volunteer at reception was also very good about the museum and also the peregrine project opposite the museum at the church where bird watchers were watching nesting peregrines at the bell tower
I visited here with my daughter on a day trip from Nottingham. It was very interesting, the ground floor is historical information and upstairs is about the dig to find King Richard's resting place. Would recommend a visit here to anyone visiting Leicester.
This was a pleasant little museum. We live quite close so made a nice day trip. I'm not sure I'd recommend travelling for hours to see it but if your relatively close give it a go! Staff were lovely and informative. My daughter is doing war of the roses at A level so she found it useful looking at timeliness, etc.
We had a wonderful visit to the museum, friendly staff and very interactive and interesting, loved the layout of the museum, great cafe and loved the glass over the grave and archeology section.

What an amazing place! About £60 for two adults and a child to visit for a year. The planetarium show was insanely good! I'm not even a big space buff but they made it so interesting!
Might be a bit pricey for foreigner who only able to go for only one time. Definitely suitable for kids. Two activities is most of the time not for children under 5, Planetarium and one more very exciting part. However exhibitions is very interactive and for sure kids under 5 could also enjoy a lot . Planetarium show I watch The great Solar is quite boring and i really hope this kind of space could be better arrange for nicer experience.
Fabulous and interesting day out. Lots of school parties but we liked to see how much fun the kids were having. We went up the tower, I walked as vertigo makes me not a fan of glass lifts. Very interesting historical displays showing the development of space travel. The Planetarium was spectacular. If you suffer from motion sickness it may be as well to ask which show is less like a theme park ride. Amazing images and animations, show lasted 25 mins and the school’s had their own separate shows. Maybe ask how many schools are expected as we were there on one of their busiest school day’s just before half term. Our ticket was converted to an annual pass so we can go back. You still have to pay for the Planetarium but I believe it is a reduced price, the website will tell you. The cafe sold nice salads and sandwiches and basic hot food so we ate there. Well stocked shop with expensive and cheaper things to buy. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
A lot to see on a single visit, better to upgrade to an annual pass for free and mid week, expect a lot of schools. I could barely move. I went for the night sky show and I didn't know what do expect. It was alright. A lot of reading about planets and space and people in space. I just wish there was more about animals in space, I don't think there was enough about them. Beware of a good amount of steps going in the rocket building. I like how the two you a lot of interesting things like how they use toilet on the space station. And things that they took to space and how they sleep on the station. Definitely a good place even if you are not super into space things.
Online ticketing is recommended as it has a lower price and a show for free. Spent more than 3 hours in it but yet to visit all the exhibition. Lucky that it is an annual pass, will visit again.
Went here for convenience for a meeting with family.

It would be a solid 4 stars, except for the £25 visit charges.
The extra charge for car parking is akin to a tariff :) and taking it to £25 with my single ticket.
Surely the schools pay enough to run and improve the place, we saw 200+ kids in the 4 hours of being in.
Only a handful of adults were present, probably as this is more than HALF the price of Alton Towers.
Perhaps cheap Mondays, discount online, pensioner Wednesday. You are losing customers at that price - if you get twice the footfall, you also get 2x+ the extras spend.
Just some price based marketing on locals, something to increase income.
The price has gone through the roof, the service and offering has remained the same. Yes, I knew the entry fee before I went, but as one of the most expensive venues I have been in the last 12 months, I expected a lot more human/unique entertainment/USP.
Had a great time here and the exhibits were fantastic! The rocket was out of this world and the exhibits kept on going. The interactive experience was a bit kiddy, but it was also really fun.
The only thing that let it down was:
- The parking (should be bundled in the cost, or comped back). I've travelled the world, and at no point haver a ever had to pay parking for a museum. idc who owns it, bundle it or comp it. Many people say the same thing, so I know im not alone in this. It's pretty ridiculous to be honest.
- The planetarium was really boring (The only show aimed at adults). I think it could be re-worked into a better show. I fell asleep
Overall, I give it a 3.5 star experience. Had a great time, but a lot of upsells that made it feel more commercial rather than a museum.

Beautiful sport for nature lovers. You walk or cycle though out the periphery of the reservoir and enjoy immense natural beauty.
Lot of parking spaces to and reasonable parking charge of £5 for whole day.
On lovely hot summer days parking is generally full with a lot of crowd.
Nice playing area cum children park area which is added benefit for kids.
Generally a very good and clean picnic spot for family with young kids
Rain or shine, snow or hail we love this walk. Nice place to refuel with a nice Breakfast or Lunch . Coffee , Tea and cake available for a snack. Canteen area has plenty of seating inside and a few places to sit outside if the weather permits. The staff always friendly and welcoming. Parking £2 for 2 hours or £5 all day. Can pay by cash or card and more than enough parking most weekends. 5 miles walk for the full circle. Bikes are welcome. Only a few small inclines. The majority of the walk is pretty flat so not too difficult for most. Perfect for Runners and walkers of all levels , or a slow stroll to take in some of the lovely scenery on and off the reservoir.
Lovely place to go if you like a long walk. I visited on a sunny day and it was a great walk (around 8 km) along the reservoir. There were parts with adjacent fields or a little bit of a woodland. Overall, an afternoon well spent. If you plan on walking the entire path, make sure to carry a bottle of water.
Good place to walk bike, on the relative flat and there is a good cafe for refreshments and light meals, parking £5 a day, also has sailing club abd fishing with boat hire.
Currently work on site means you cannot walk or bike the full circuit. Buy going half way and back is about the same distance
Beautiful place to visit. I walked all around it and managed to get back at the entrance just as the sun was setting. You do have to pay for parking, I believe it’s £5 for the whole day and you can get an annual permit as well which is £37 as of March 2022.
Excellent place for ,walking, bicycle ride, sailing, etc. Great cafe, good food and drinks. Toilets on site. Plenty of parking, but as usual, payment is needed. Pay on the way out. The good news is that one of the machines takes cash 💸. Children's play area. The walk is around 4 miles all the way around the water. Also, lamas in one of the fields as you go round.
I love a walk round here. It's just about 5 miles on a tarmac path and never too far from the water's edge. There are numerous water birds to see here, some of them migrants just passing through. The sailing club has races over the weekend which are interesting to watch and try to work out what's going on. The cafe is excellent too. Plenty of car parking available.
