Stopped here the Saturday before Mardi Gras. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly waiter. He seated us immediately and got us drinks. We got the shrimp appetizer which was amazing. For entrees we got the jambalaya pasta and the redfish. Both were absolutely amazing! This was our favorite dinner during our time in NOLA. The red beans and rice were also delicious. If you only get to try one thing here, DEFINITELY get the jambalaya pasta. You won’t regret it. Our whole experience here was wonderful. The service, the staff and the lively atmosphere. Definitely a must try on the famous Bourbon Street.
My friend and I visited on a Thursday night and it was definitely hopping, but we were able to get a seat at the bar right away. We wanted to sit on the rooftop but the wait would have been too long. Bummed because I bet the view is cool! The service at the bar was good, the bartender was friendly. The food came out reasonably quickly. I had the Taste of New Orleans sampler and thought it was good! I'm sure it's not the best in NOLA, but I still liked it. I thought the atmosphere was fun and well-decorated. I'd recommend this as a fun, casual spot to eat for a group with mixed appetites.
I had a great experience at Mambo’s! The southern dishes were absolutely delicious and very filling – everything was packed with flavor. Our waiter provided outstanding customer service, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, though I did notice one thing that was a bit unappealing to the eye, especially with food being around. However, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. If you’re in New Orleans and craving authentic southern cuisine, Mambo’s is definitely a solid choice. I’ll be back!
By the way… the rooftop views are amazing
