About
The New Inn is a stylish restaurant and bar with a modern ambiance, offering contemporary cuisine, real ales, and a charming terrace. Located in Ramsgate, it's renowned for its delectable fish and chips, which have received glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. The beer-battered cod served with minted mushy peas, hand-cut chips, and tartar sauce is particularly popular among both adults and children.Reviews
The New Inn has received mixed reviews, with some patrons praising the spacious and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good value for money, and delicious food. However, there were complaints about slow service, small portions for the price paid, lack of cleanliness in the room carpets, inconsistent pricing at the bar, and issues related to diversity and customer treatment. The atmosphere was noted as loud due to poor acoustic planning. Despite these criticisms, positive feedback highlighted excellent service during special occasions like birthdays or Mother's Day.
We had a great time here as a party of 10+ the other week and came for the Sunday roast.
The food was delicious and we would definitely come back again. The three little desserts come with a choice of hot drink and were delicious also. The roasts come with a side of vegetables not pictured, but it came with cabbage, carrot, broccoli and cauliflower. Furthermore, their cauliflower cheese was devine - would recommend ordering some on the side! I would advise booking as it can get busy.
My only qualm would be that we had asked for extra veg/potatoes and we were forgotten about. Once we had asked again midway through our meal, they had brought it out at the very end - around 10 minutes after we’d all finished eating.
However, it was very busy on this day and we were a large party so orders can get lost/forgotten, so this didn’t ruin our experience and we would still come back again.
Staff apologised regarding this issue and were very polite throughout our dining experience here.
We will definitely be back as it was great!
Came for a quick drink, first visit. Old huge building but smart modern interior. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Service was good. Small beer garden at the front, huge smart beer garden at the back. Good available with a seated dining area.Overall a really nice place and worth a visit especially on summer days.
Great pub, amazing location, delicious Sunday Roast and exceptional service by Greg!
FYI, on the 1st floor, they have a reasonable amount of space for a big party/bday and so on, there is also a bar.
I can guarantee that this place gets packed in the summertime as they have a massive terrace in the back and a couple of tables in the front too.
Had a lovely meal, for a reasonable price, and was served by the wonderful Izzy, who was utterly charming and made us feel veery welcome and 'at home'. Simple food, done really well, in a friendly atmosphere - exactly what I expect from the team at The New Inn. We'll be back soon!
Was a great pub, disabled friendly in the main pub area, but we were at a function upstairs. No disabled access. The easiest route was around the back, long sloping uphill walk (not great pushing a wheelchair) and then 12 stairs to the function room. The food was great - buffett style and tatsy. The disabled toilet for the function room was down a flight of stairs! Apart from that ; All in all was a nice pub, great atmosphere- as long as you aren't disabled using the function room!
