I had high hopes for Fionn MacCool’s based on previous experiences with live shows and a great drink menu, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The atmosphere was great but both the service and the food were a letdown. I ordered the Celtic Harvest Salad, based on the menu description and the picture of the dish on the menu. When the dish arrived, it looked nothing like how it was described and the flavours were pretty bland for the price (I’ve attached a picture of the menu description as well as the dish that I was served). My husband ordered the Shepherd’s Pie and wasn’t impressed as it wasn’t fully cooked. The wait time was also longer than expected, even though the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Our waitress was not very engaged in the service from the beginning. I honestly would have given this experience 1 star, but the manager was kind and understanding; he also comped the salad. There wasn’t one specific thing that made this experience subpar, but a sum of all parts. It might be a decent spot for drinks, but I wouldn’t go back for the food.
