We had a 5:30 reservation and arrived early, as is customary. We were fortunate to have a lovely table in the back of the restaurant, which allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the cozy ambiance.
Unfortunately, our waiter’s incompetence was a significant disappointment. I have a shellfish and crustacean allergy that I informed her of, but she was unfamiliar with the menu and had to repeatedly consult the chef during our order.
We ordered three burgers and confirmed that at least three were available at the time of placing our order. However, to our dismay, we only received one burger. By the time she finally completed the order due to the numerous times she had to check on the allergies, the burgers had sold out, and the restaurant only serves 10 per day. The one burger we received was shared among the three of us, and it was only a 7/10.
Our favourite dish was the Pizzette, which we rated 10 out of 10. It had an amazing crust and was a simple dish executed perfectly. A surprising dish that we also enjoyed was the whipped fava with seasonal vegetables.
The tuna tostadas were flavorful and presented well, but the tostada was soggy and difficult to cut. Additionally, the table beside us also encountered challenges in breaking the tostadas to eat it. It simply lacked the crunch we expect from a tostada.
We also ordered the duck, hake, and octopus, which were all great choices to share and enjoy.
For dessert, we shared the panna cotta and the soft serve. We particularly enjoyed the savoury taste of the soft serve with the oat biscuits.
It is worth noting that our waiter confirmed either my partner or our friend that he would be able to pay the bill and that our friend’s birthday was celebrated. However, it was not his responsibility to pay for dinner. Despite our early disclosure, she directly handed the birthday boy the bill at the end of the meal.
Overall, I would likely return to the restaurant in the hope of experiencing better service.
