A local gem! Unpretentious food cooked with flavour and imagination!
My hubby is gluten-free and there were many options to choose from which is always important for us.
We started with a mixed salad with lovely petite, black-eyed peas. It was big enough to share and had a lovely light lemon and oil dressing.
Also as an appetizer, we had the tuna tartar, served on top of wilted spinach with minced carrot and cucumber topped with watercress.
Hubby had the roasted lamb, which was really quite spectacular and I had the roasted rabbit with thin-sliced potatoes on the bottom and a lovely béchamel sauce on top - very delicious with subtle flavours that really let the rabbit sing.
As is Cretan tradition, they offered us a free dessert and when they found out he couldn’t have wheat provided us with a beautiful dessert made from whipped meringues with corn flour topped with a homemade marmalade. It was large enough to share and was absolutely what we hoped for… super light and not too sweet.
Service was impeccable, and our waiter was even kind enough to provide us with some suggestions for live music written on a piece of paper. Highly recommended!
Parasties was such an amazing restaurant in Crete 🇬🇷 Known for its beautiful atmosphere, delicious, hearty dishes and very generous portions. The manager and staff were so sweet and made us feel so welcome🥰We ordered the liver (best we’ve ever tasted), Greek salad, omelette and oyster mushrooms🍄🟫Lunch was served on the balcony, with such pleasant views of the ocean, enhancing our dining experience. Our service included their resident hungry Cat 🐈🥰
If you are in Crete, definitely visit Parasties..So wonderful and a must visit🥰💖
This was probably my favourite meal in Heraklion. They have a farm to fork concept and they make everything in-house. It was absolutely delicious and would absolutely go back. They have a Cretan cuisine, which I found quite different from usual Greek cuisine that we had in our trip. It is a must try.
You need to take their homemade bread, it was absolutely phenomenal. We wanted to try something different and had the liver savor, which was the best liver I ever had. We followed with the acretan meat pie which was absolutely delicious. We had the fresh Cretan pasta with rabbit stew which was very good. And we ended the meal with the chocolate cake which was amazing. Everything was absolutely delicious. I strong recommend eating here.
