Griddle Bar and Meat House

Absolutely superb for a spot of breakfast! Very reasonably priced breakfast menu. Breakfast and coffee for 2 at around £35. Every component was well thought-through. The fried egg could perhaps have done with a quick flip or a splash of hot oil but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. Excellent flavours in every bite. Superbly fluffy chips and a beautifully grilled steak. Friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to go back to try the Sunday Roast. Definitely at the top of our list for the next Ely outing.

The BEST STEAK EVER!! literally the meal from start to finish was delicious 😋 the service was brilliant and worth every penny. Plenty of Delicious cocktails options to choose from. We had the chicken liver pate starter, the 10oz ribeye steak. Cannot recommend enough!

I’d say this is an intimate but not romantic restaurant. We both had the pâté to start, it was lovely, they could have served us half and that would have been enough! For the steaks, it’s steakhouse prices and quality meat which was enjoyable. The broccoli and salad sides were a bit lacklustre However the one thing that let it down was the service unfortunately. I hope that with some time they’ll get used to things more. When we arrived the door was locked, after a few attempts at opening the waitress appeared and we informed them we’d booked a table. We were sat in the centre of the restaurant immediately next to another couple. Our drink order was quickly taken, however water was forgotten (quickly rectified when reminded). Ordering our food was simple and easy. However, unfortunately when our steaks arrived they got them the wrong way round. Slightly strange experience when we paid, where the waitress came straight over with a QR code and asked us to leave a review. Not uncommon but it felt a little pushy which I didn’t enjoy. Overall, I’d go back in a bigger group with friends but wouldn’t recommend for a date night.

Really loved our meal here. I was vegetarian for 10 years, and to be honest I'm still not a big sort of 'steak fan', but my mum and aunt wanted to give it a go and I knew it was set up by the same people who set up Sushi & Salad which, as someone who's visited Japan, I'd say are truly excellent. The food was great. Again, I'm not necessarily the biggest steak fan, but the peppercorn sauce and meat (Filet, for me) were lovely, and so were the sides of stilton cauliflower cheese and the garlic and truffle oil mash. I should flag up that if you're a veggie... you're not really gonna be catered for here. But then, to be fair, you probably shouldn't expect to be at a self-described 'meat house'! I did think there was something about the decor which wasn't *quite* as lovely as the Sushi & Salad next door. There was something about it that felt a little bare, a little unfinished – perhaps it was! Maybe some light music would enhance the atmosphere? IDK, it's just the one thing I can't quite say was 'five-out-of-five.' The staff were incredible. The food was great, even as someone who's just not a big meat fan. I HIGHLY recommend the cauliflower cheese and mash sides with your steak, and the peppercorn sauce was top notch. Would certainly come back again – tempted to try the beef and bone marrow pie!

What a find!!!! An awesome addition to Ely! The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble, very friendly, great atmosphere and the food was simply divine! The best, perfectly cooked fillet steak i have had in a very long time! Highly recommend this place!!
