The Drum Inn in Cockington Village has received glowing reviews for its picturesque setting, friendly staff, and delicious food. Visitors praise the stunning views from seats overlooking the grounds, the freshly cooked meals, particularly recommending the roast dinners and pork belly. The atmosphere is described as cozy and calm, perfect for a summer's day. While some mention issues with children running around unsupervised in the bar area, overall experiences highlight good service, lovely decor in both dining room and bar areas, and excellent value for money.
I love a good country pub and this is definitely one. Polite and friendly staff. The prices were OK for a very captive audience not able to go elsewhere. Very dog 🐕 friendly with a cool little dog bar 🍻. Very nice to see a compendium of pub games to play too and to top it off a lovely open fire. We didn't get to eat any food but what we could see looked very good.
Beautiful place, loved the inside interior and was lovely done up for Christmas. We were sat in the restaurant near the fire which was lovely. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We had the festive menu, me and my husband both had the pate for starters which was lovely, I then had the steak and venison pie with veg and mash, absolutely stunning and my husband had the pork which was also amazing. We both had the apple and mince pie crumble for dessert, wow it was gorgeous. The best meal out we have had out in years. We will definitely be returning the next time we stay in Devon.
Visited here today whilst on holiday with friends, and had the most excellent and delicious meals.
Service was with a smile and very prompt. Just the right gap between courses.
Very dog friendly, our dogs were well catered for with treats and water.
Highly recommended
Visited today for Sunday roast, service was absolutely amazing. The pub is lovely and clean, great menu choice for a Sunday, not just roasts available. The warm scotch egg was delicous, The trio of meats was lovely, the only criticism was the roast potato's were incredibly tough to cut and so was the pork belly that was not part of the trio of meats, the Cauliflower cheese was quite hard too but very tasty. The mini pudding was amazing as well, the crumble was lovely and hot and the honeycombe bomb was heavenly! Will definitely visit again!
Lovely three course Christmas meal on ChristmasEve... Very wise to book the restaurant, bar area, very busy. Friendly staff, great food
