It's a little surprising to find this little interesting fountain in the middle of a small town. The park is huge and has a lot of green space, good for walking and dogs.

No need to buy tickets, the place is generally very beautiful, but spoilt by the litter people have left, when there are several trash bins to use. The pond with turtles had plastic straws and other plastic fragments floating in it, it needs to be cleaned. There were land workers maintaining the area, hopefully they get round to doing that. Shame people show disrespect in the first instance though.

Every year we come back, there are more tortoises in the pond. 10/10, exactly what I want to see.

Worth visiting for the eerily evocative ruins with the weird (but entirely complementary) art work - and also the wildlife. There are terrapins (not turtles!) in the pond, lizards scurrying about, and I spotted a beautiful praying mantis on the handrail.

Beautiful and quiet park with Thirteenth Century fountain, a turtle pond, and permanent art exhibit. Peaceful place for a visit and picnic off the beaten path—well worth a small detour to Poggibonsi for this (the town is also quite interesting and beautiful, while being an antidote to the moneyed and glossier towns like Siena nearby).

Best views of San Gimignano and the surrounding countryside from atop Torre Grossa. Worth the price of admission, though there is some restoration taking place currently - And you get a little workout thrown in for free if you are in a rush like I was.

The entrance is 9 euros for all 3 things. It was a nice climb up the tower, and the view is breathtaking. You can see the whole town of San Gimignano (i think it's the highest tower) as well as the view of Tuscany in the background. The art museum is decent and pretty to check out!

Visiting Palazzo Comunale and climbing the Torre Grossa in San Gimignano was an unforgettable experience, definitely worth the ticket. We ascended the tower on a clear, sunny day and were rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding towns and the stunning San Gimignano from a bird's-eye perspective. Inside the tower, there were several art exhibitions featuring original and ancient religious paintings, adding an extra layer of cultural enrichment to the visit. The entire tour was well-organized, and the sights were truly spectacular. Highly recommend this 5-star experience!

If you're gonna do just one thing in San Gimignano, climb the Torre Grossa. Definitely do it. Beats every single other experience we've had in Tuscany and Italy so far. The views from the top are just spectacular, a 360 degree view of the Tuscan countryside. I can't stress enough how beautiful it is. There are quite a few steps up - around 200, and there is no lift. So keep that in mind. It's worth getting the combined ticket if you're interested in medieval art, churches and frescoes, otherwise just go up the tower. Come earlier during the day. We visited around 11 AM on a Saturday in May. There was no wait and not too many people - it didn't feel packed at the top.

They area is completely tourists-free. There's a free parking very close to the castle. As it is a private castle, you have to take a guided tour. We were very lucky to be there the day the only French-speaking guide was on call. We got an amazing visit with a lot of details on the history of the region, why and how the castle was built, and tons of little details about living on the very border of Sienna and Florence in the Middle-Ages. Instead of filling the rooms with old furniture, there is a permanent exposition of modern Art based on the story of the castle. For those interested in ancient architecture, the round tower is one of the only 4 surviving ones with such an ancient stone dome.

This is the highlight of the medieval town. You can enter the main building to see frescoes and the dungeon. Exit through the back to visit an old church. The best part is the climb to the top of the bell tower, which you access from the garden next to the church. At the top you get some fantastic views of the old town and surrounding countryside. Me and my husband came here for a wine tasting and we were not disappointed. We got a tour of the fermentation room and were told about the differences with white and rose wine. We were then shown the cellar with a number of large wine barrels. It was followed by a light lunch which involved bruschetta, cured meats and cheese served with white and rose wine and then pasta with meat ragu which was served with 2 different red wines. We were also offered extra pasta when we had finished. We were then served tart and biscuits with dessert wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and we ended up purchasing a bottle of chianti wine to take back to our accomodation. On a side note, it was very much appreciated that there was also a tour group which joined us at the wine tasting and instead of being added to one large table, me and my husband were seated separately at our own table so we could enjoy the experience together instead of being merged into one loud group.

A really beautiful place to eat true Tuscan food prepared by local farmers with products from their fields. I came here with my family and It was a truely awesome experience. I recommend this place to someone that wants to taste true Tuscan cuisine in the hills on Chianti
