I recently spent a fantastic day at the Beaulieu National Motor Museum, and I can't recommend it enough for anyone with even a passing interest in cars. The variety of exhibits is truly impressive, with vehicles from all eras of motoring history. What sets this museum apart is the wealth of information provided alongside each exhibit. I learned so much about the history and evolution of different models. The interactive displays were also a great touch, making the experience engaging for all ages. Beyond the cars, the museum grounds are beautiful, with plenty of space to wander and explore. There are also other attractions on site, like the historic Beaulieu Abbey, making it a full day out.

I haven't been to Beaulieu since I was a child and it was lovely to be back there. Lord Montague and Art Russe has a new permanent exhibition of Russian art in The Clockhouse, which is admirable in the current climate of what is effectively a new cold war. In addition, the house and grounds are beautiful. The falconer was very interesting to speak to about the history of falconry at Beaulieu. All the staff were helpful and the facilities very good. The remains of the original Abbey are atmospheric and the whole place remains a clever blend of theatrical whimsy & and history, so it has a wide appeal. I would definitely recommend Beaulieu, especially on one of the quieter days, if you can find one!

Part of the Beaulieu ticket. Wonderful car museum with a couple hundred cars from the late 19th century onwards, race cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles. The vehicles are well displayed with excellent signs, snd includes standards like an older Fist Mini or Ford Model T, to some very unique additions. We spent 50-60 minutes but could've doubled this if we read everything. It can be a bit noisy inside given the open air atmosphere and monorail going through the top.

Great museum, lots to see and suitable for all ages. Lovely clean facilities Great value for money. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the play park even in the rain. Food is a little on the pricey side but that's to be expected at visitor attractions now. We took a picnic and there are picnic tables but none undercover if the weather isn't very good you will be eating your picnic in the rain

We visited for the BBC Gardener's World Fair and it was a lovely day. Plenty to see and do for all the family. The monorail was great fun, and getting to look at the old cars was brilliant. Not to mention all the additional stalls available for the fair. Could have spent 100's if not 1000's on garden things. Would highly recommend.

A really fun experience and it makes it worth while to use the free rentry as the £30 each took us a bit by surprise. The collectibles were a nice thing to take away and thankfully the weather was nice so the dog was happy. We took the dog for a walk about the lake whilst others went inside as dogs aren’t allowed inside

Great day out. Cars and bikes are amazing and great staff. Don’t miss the house, gardens, abbey ruins and the lovely millpond walk. Free parking and reasonable cafe prices. Save money by booking online.

We loved Winter Archery with Jemma! The session was a good length and she provided tea and coffee, which was very welcome on a cold, windy day! This activity would work for all abilities as there were some instructions but we mostly just got to practise loads and then play games. We thought the session was great value for money and the setting is lovely. We will be back again!

This was well worth booking, my 8 year old said it was the highlight of her holiday! The team were very friendly and engaging, they provided us with a thorough safety talk before we headed onto the river. Whilst we were out we were given some interesting history about the river and the nature along the banks. I would highly recommend! Thank you Harry and Sasha!

Good experience with my son to paddle down the Beaulieu river, Chris is really nice to guide all of us safely towards the river and introduce around this area. We had a great time!

Took part in a group canoe trip- such a wonderful, serene experience with a lovely guide (Harry). He was knowledgable and friendly and put everyone at ease. The location is beyond stunning- would 100% recommend and would love to do it again!

We had such a lovely time as a family of 4. We did the canoeing along the river and it was beautiful. Our guide Gemma was very helpful and super friendly giving us lots of facts and history about the river. We will definitely be returning! They even included an easter Egg hunt which the children ( and grown ups) enjoyed!

Lovely walk & picturesque pond. Just be mindful if you’re taking a picnic/food that the donkeys will ambush you!

Great any time of the year. There are 3 ponds and one gets covered in Lillie's. Lots of birds including swans.

Always lovely for a walk. However if you want to see it’s full beauty then dusk or dawn makes for some beautiful views and reflections across the pond. Nearby is hatchet moor with its own small pond which has a spectacular show of water lilies throughout the summer months. Great place to have a picnic and to view many species of water birds. Free to park and walk.

Lovely place, chilled by the lake. Spot of paddle boarding. Car park does get busy so arrive early. Toilets were closed due to covid but still had great fun.

Enjoyable stroll around the Pond with New Forest Ponies, donkeys & swans on our visit. Free parking, the toilets were closed may be due to Covid-19, but the building looked in a bad state of repair. No swimming signs, but children swimming?

Perfect view for sunset, especially for the new forest. It's also a popular spot for photographers. Family friendly areas too with the exception of donkeys which do chase you and try and nab you.

Beef brisket pasta, far too many peppercorns otherwise good. Lamb liver nicely cooked but the bistro gravy was too salty and took away from a otherwise nice meal. Burger had unusual texture. I wanted it to be more than just ok as we have some great memories in the Royal Oak. It varies every time we come.

Whilst food portions were generous there were some parts that were lacking. For example the veg served was cold, the crusty bread advertised with the starters was three circles of stale croutons for want of a better description, you needed a good strong arm to cut through the pastry on the steak n ale pie, which was very over cooked. But our main gripe and disappointment, of the four of us, was the handling of a request to not serve the blue cheese sauce that accompanied the chicken wings. The server/manager stated that the sauce for the chicken wings would be in a dish on the side. However when the food was presented there was a white sauce on the plate. It was non descript as far as taste went so food was not returned to the kitchen. The reason for asking not to have the blue cheese sauce was down to taste rather than due to intolerance or allergy. However the fact that the server/Manager laughed and joked that he knew the sauce had been added to the plate and that obviously there was no issue after all as the chicken had been eaten. Not impressed that he found it amusing. As the wings were stacked the person who placed the order only ate the topmost one as that didn't come into contact with the white sauce and the remaining two were eaten by two others. What is the point in making a reasonable request for it to be ignored. This is not an experience we appreciated and therefore very unlikely to visit again or recommend.

We visited this pub with family. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was decent but the food took some time to come out. They offer a good range of beers on tap. The pub can get busy as it's in a prime location so make sure you book if you really want a table. There are plenty of tables outside for extra space. The menu was a bit strange as it was a massive wooden thing, I'd ditch these in favour of a more simple one. The food was excellent value for money. I had a chicken, ham and leek pie. It was really tasty, my partner had the dirty burger which was superb. The pizza my mum had was so big she took some of it home as it was so tasty. Children's menu was good and my daughter loved the mac and cheese. Overall these were great portions and decent prices. I'd say this is a good pub and good value for money. We were so full we couldn't even contemplate the desert menu. Well worth the visit.

Came here with my partner, we shared the fish platter and some skinny fries. While I must say the mackerel pate and tartar sauce were both very tasty the rest of the platter was just okay. However, I was extremely disappointed as during my meal, I found a piece of plastic in my food - a serious safety and hygiene concern. While the waitress did apologise, there was no real sense of urgency or genuine effort to make the situation right. What surprised me most was that when the bill arrived, the dish that had the plastic in it was still included in full. When I raised this, I was given only a 10% discount. Personally, I’ve always believed that if you find something in your food especially something as unacceptable as plastic the least a restaurant can do is remove that item from the bill. This experience left me feeling disappointed and undervalued as a customer. I won’t be returning, and I’d caution others to be mindful of the standards here.

Very nice pub in the new forest. Great car park, welcome to sit and have lunch, nice protocol, tasty food with lots of sauces in the plate and good service having the attention you just need. Clean restaurant and beautifil decoration. Very recommended.

We ate here for our anniversary and the pub looked nice inside and out. There was an error by the staff and we waited over an hour for our food. The food wasn't that great when it did arrive. Staff were good and gave us a discount on our bill.

We've been coming here for many years and always visit when we stay in the New Forest with our two dogs. Becky and her team do a great job and are always super friendly and accommodating. The menu is varied, interesting and tasty and the portions are very generous. The new assistant manager has introduced some fantastic new cocktails - we had a cherry espresso martini which was amazing! Would definitely recommend.

Once a thriving Cistercian monastery is now left dormant and available to look around. Majority is just ruins, but some of the buildings - notably those surrounding the cloister still remain. Lots of herbs are seen growing in the Abbey cloisters.

Spent a glorious day here in the September sunshine. Started on the monorail. Thought we were going to be there all day as we couldn't get the door open and the guard forgot us. Still laughing. Went to the Motor Museum next. Fascinating. Took a ride on the old style bus and walked back up through the Riverside walk and the gardens, looking at the sculpture exhibition. Then had some of the best ever fish and chips, followed by chocolate sundae, in The Brabazon Restaurant and Coffee Shop. Finally, went back down to the old ruins and cloisters to see the historic exhibition there,

The Motor museum shares the same site. Its one hell of a collection of motorbikes and cars, sports, road and vintage. Also some of the nutty top gear builds. Entrance to the abbey and the house are on the same ticket, which currently last a year. very good catreing and shop on site, dont miss the london bus ride to the house and abbey, also the monorail. There are extensive gardens and a large inovative play area. they also host a number of events throughout the year. Its a good days visit.

Most of the Abbey is a ruin now, but you can still see the footprint and layout of this ecclesiastical place. Several buildings survive including the Church and Domus. The Abbey museum takes you through the history of this place and what it was like for the Benedictine monks and lay brothers who lived there. They maintained good infirmary facilities to look after their own. Don't miss the upstairs exhibition of Lady Montagu's Wall Hangings which tell the story of Beaulieu Abbey from it's foundation in 1204 to it's dissolution in 1538.

Absolutely stunning setting for this little 13th century gem. In the grounds of the Beaulieu Motor Museum lies the serene Beaulieu Abbey and Beaulieu parish church (which used to be the Cistercian monks refectory) The gardens surrounding it are well stocked and very calming after the hubbub in the excellent museum. We spent a long time here in this quiet spot just absorbing the atmosphere and enjoying the plants and the history. Some of the buildings there, the Abbey Domus upper floor for example, are not accessible to anyone in a wheelchair but that didn't put a dampener on my lovely time there. I would love to return.

Great place to visit amazing buildings and gardens

A magnificently preserved palace with exquisite displays of the family history and lifestyle. The guides are delightful and welcoming. A must see. We loved it. The SOE war museum was a delightful surprise with intriguing artifacts from the ear and its covert history.

Great place the motor museum covers cars and motorbikes from the start of motoring history, the palace is a good visit with plenty of gardens to wander in and there is the old Abbey all well presented with good displays. There is also an exhibition about SOE agents who came to the house and estate to finish there training before being dropped into occupied Europe. There is a monorail going round the site and a good cafe/restaurant as you enter. Well worth a visit.

Palace House at Beaulieu is well worth the visit even if visiting for the motor vehicles. This historic country house, with its Gothic architecture and rich history, offers a captivating glimpse into the lives of the Montagu family. Well preserved interiors and friendly helpful staff dotted around on hand to tell you about the history of the place.

Was nice to wander around and watch their little theatre. Also the collection of Russian modern art is very impressive.

Had never been to Beaulieu in the 54 years I've lived in Dorset. Fantastic day out with our 2 younger children. After watching a fantastic falconry display on the lawn in front of palace house, we entered the house and had a good look around. Whilst inside, we stumbled across two extremely talented singers and pianist. We enjoyed listening to them for 3 songs and then our 16 year old daughter was given the opportunity to join the pianist and sing a song called Caro Mio Ben in Italian. Despite the piano player never having played it before, he was brilliant in accompanying our daughter. At the end of the song there was lots of applause and one lady was even shedding a few tears! A lovely little chapel that has previously been a school and a family residence. In the museum there are artifacts they found when renovating the chapel and a cellar perfect for snuggling was also found beneath.

The chocolates and ice cream were stunning and of excellent quality. The staff working there was lovely and the shop itself was very cute. Definitely an unexpected gem!

You can find some very unique flavour chocolate bars in there. I definitely recommend trying their own gelatos. Selection might not be extensive but boy, the flavour and the richness of it is outstanding.

Popped into beaulieu chocolate studio to stock up on their lovely chocolate buttons for my daughter and saw they had a special Columbian 45% milk button... Oh my word! So happy I picked them up! Most delicious flavourful milk chocolate I've had in years! I'm usually a dark chocolate fan since working in another chocolate shop myself for 9 years but these buttons were creamy, smooth, rich yet delicate. We noticed they had a refill station of buttons which is excellent, not that their packaging is ever excessive anyway. Staff were very friendly, helpful but not intrusive. Thank you for a lovely experience. Also the chocolate button was great paired with an after dinner coffee as an alternative dessert

The rum and raisin ice cream is the best I've ever had. The shop is super cute and quaint. Very happy friendly lady serving too. If you are this way then definitely go in and try the delicious delights here

My wife hired the Gardner Douglas Cobra as an early birthday present for me whilst away on our mini-moon, the car and service were both amazing. The sound that came out of the car was a beautiful thing to hear whilst driving through the New Forest. Would highly recommend.
