A must-visit (if you’re into understanding a towns culture, heritage and history!). The care and attention that has gone into curating stories of Hastings over hundreds of years, photos, models, life size exhibitions and more besides. A wonderful tribute to the town. Wish we’d had a bit longer - spent about 45 minutes here, could be 60-90 depending on how much you want to take in. Be sure to leave a donation and don’t miss some of the outside info boards too.

A lovely little museum right by the sea. We were left to explore at our own pace, which took us about 20 mins as we had a small child with us. You can climb on a boat and see sea animal specimens and there’s lots of local history. There’s parking behind it which was vast, £2.20 for an hour or £4 for two hours. Great to sign the visitors book and see where other visitors where from! A small gift shop on the way out and friendly staff. I wouldn’t say it was worth a trip into hasting to visit but definitely great as something to do as part of a bigger day out!

Lovely museum to remember ways of living in the past on board ship. Well worth a visit as there is no entry fee but donation are welcome. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the items on show. The museum is in an old church with some of the stained glass windows still present. There is lots of exhibits especially the old ship in the centre of the room. This place is suitable for all ages

The Pier is close to the station, and well built. The people in the cafe and restaurant were friendly and nice. I came for the Reggae festival which I enjoyed, however (not related to the Pier) the sound system wasn't setup to be loud enough for everyone to hear and so I left early. I liked Hastings, and it's Pier. Good vibes.

Hastings Pier offers a unique and modern seaside experience. Rebuilt after a devastating fire, it now stands as a spacious platform, perfect for strolling and enjoying the sea views. The open design prioritizes accessibility with smooth, level pathways throughout, making it very wheelchair friendly. Accessible toilets are also available. You'll find a contemporary visitor center, and often various events and food vendors pop up, adding to its appeal as a flexible public space. While some recent events have faced scrutiny regarding safety and organization, the pier itself remains a welcoming and accessible landmark.

Can't fault the structure itself. Offering good space and views. But somewhat underwhelming on a May weekend. Food and drink places on the right as going in and elevated centre section looked reasonably popular. A few children amusements and rides near the entrance. But most of the hut businesses closed. And bottom end fenced off. Lack of ambience esp compared to Eastbourne and Brighton pier offerings.

Went on the recently re-opened East Hill Cliff Funicular Railway in Hastings last week; it is the steepest Cliff Lift in the UK and there are stunning views over Hastings Old Town and to the West Cliff from the top. One of my retirement bucket lists is to ride on all of the coastal Cliff Lifts in England and Wales.

Great service which I hadn't used for a few years. I used recently and was surprised cost is no £5.50 for a return and there are no one way tickets. I think that's a bit much and would not use again at those prices. I did not actually see the prices on display nor were they mentioned - I only looked at the receipt later. Views are great and it's good fun but it is only a 5 min journey and quite easy to use the stairs unless you are very unfit/have a disability.

Fun experience. Interesting to see what shapes people will carve out in the soft rock. Some exhibits a bit dated, but all entertaining! Recommend checking the website for deals as you don't have to book a specific day. We went early, which gives you some nice quite time exploring. There was a large group ready to go down by 11.45am.

This place is amazing, and it loads to see and do, especially for kids. Excellent value for money if you buy the 3 in 1 attraction ticket.

A really interesting story told interactively through a character from the time. A great fun experience, but some of the games within the event weren't working properly, which could frustrate children.

Tells you a lot of history of smuggling with automated displays. It's well done.

Great location! Well organised inside the cave too, have a few interesting and interactive things for children. We went as a school trip and children really had fun. It is located at picturesque landscape. We drove close to the caves and literally ran down the hill to the caves and then up the hill to the coach. It was about 5 minutes stroll from the road to the caves.

The Aquarium was very good & so was the Smugglers caves.very informative 👍

This place was amazing. It just kept going and going. Lots of turning and hidden corners. Very interactive for children and lots of history to learn in a fun way. Took about an hour to go round and cost £44 I think.

Lovely park, great for a stroll, feed the ducks and a spot of refreshment in the cafe. Very well kept. Toilets very clean. Generally a nice place to be.

Probably the most beautiful park in East Sussex, England, Alexandra Park boasts of 44 hectares of land in the heart of Hastings. It is a very popular attraction for family picnics, exercises, outdoor activities, dog walks to name a few. I always go here to unwind and enjoy nature especially when the birds starts to roost in their nests and listen to their beautiful songs as well as I enjoy the many types of trees, plants, shrubs and its amazing nature landscapes. Amenities are good with free public toilets, outdoor activities like their Multi-use Games Area and restaurants along the stretch of the park which is maintained all throughout the year. There are bicycle lanes, tennis courts, a football/basketball pitch, children’s playground, ponds, and a fishing spot too. Dog walkers are advised to put lead on certain areas of the park. Car parking around the park is mostly free and accessible but can also be challenging especially when the weather is sunny and bright as people flock to the park to enjoy it. Highly recommended.

Beautiful park in Hastings. So many lovely spaces for a picnic. I came here often as a child and loved the play park. Parking can be difficult but there are plenty of space surrounding the park.

Beautifully designed park, eye catching views.

Lovely little aquarium. We took our baby for the first time on mother's day and she really enjoyed it. Not the biggest, and like most aquariums the walkthrough tunnel is the main attraction, but perfect size for little ones and very easy to add on to a day at the seaside. A tiny bit disappointing that some of the classics are missing, like jellyfish, but overall a good range of species 🐡

Nice little gem is a great way to spend a few hours on a rainy day. Excellent variety of fish and animals. I recommend buying the mixed attraction ticket it's great value. Big carpark but chargeable.

Not very big and some tanks need some more enrichment but overall a lovely experience. Staff were friendly and more than happy to answer any questions and the creatures were beautiful.

Lovely time at the Aquarium, you can come and go throughout the day once you have bought your entry ticket. We popped back a couple of times for the feeding and talks. The Seahorses and Sharks were magnificent.

I really enjoyed my visit, this one of the smaller aquariums in the country. Paid for tickets in advance, and you have up to 6 months to use them. Check in , is straight forward. Everything is one way to walk around the aquarium. There is also lots of species on display and I'm sure they are looked after. The gift shop also has lots of items you can buy to still continue to contributing supporting the aquarium.

I have to be honest, and I would only suggest visiting this castle and the respective ruins if you really like history like myself. Understandably, it's ruins, but the cost to get in to see the castle is extremely overpriced, sadly. You could easily get some photos of the castle from different locations rather than going in to take some photos. I will state that you can get some fantastic views of the hastings from the castle location (logically, why the Normans built it there in the first place). There are also some interesting boards which give you some good invite into the castle and it's history.

A nice little castle on top of the hill. Recommend using the hill lift if coming from the seafront. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend paying for this on it own. As part of the 3 attraction tickets, it's worth doing. Apart from the great views, not much of the ruin left, very small dungeons.

Breathtaking views, amazing architecture and construction. Well worth the trip, and paid parking on the street up at the public park. I highly recommend making a day of it and enjoying a lunch on the grounds. Remarkable history.

One of the first castles built by the Normans after the invasion of 1066. Sadly half of it has been lost into the sea as the cliffs collapsed.

We visited on a nice day, the views were nice and it was relaxing to sit on the benches and watch the sea. The dungeons are very small more like a cave and no explanation of what each part was meant to be. It was a steep climb up from the castle hill road as we didn't know there was a cliff lift. We took it on the way down, nice experience for the kids. The lift was around 10 pounds for 2. It takes you down to the old town and the beach area.

Small entrance fee and a beautiful view. It was cloudy when we visited but it’s worth it.

What a lovely experience, a gentleman Pete took the time to speak to me and my son about lots of different things from items from shipwrecks in the 1700s to dinosaur fossils. Free to go in but I did leave a £5 donation just to say thankyou.

Really loved it here. Very informative, lots of sunken items on display. I thought it would be a quick visit but ended up spending about two hours at least. Completely free too.

A very neat little museum with a treasure trove of artifacts and information. We were lucky enough to be there in time for a very nice talk on local prehistoric finds! It was very informative and actually even more two year old sat and listened for most of it!! So from our 2 year old to our 60something year old, our family enjoyed our visit very much. Will definitely go back.

Nice little museum if you are interested in true crime. Although it is technically family friendly I wouldn’t take kids under the age of about 10. It’s a lot of reading and some sensitive subjects. We were there 2.5 hours as we read and looked at everything.

I've been wanting to come here for ages and I'm glad I finally did. The price is great value for money. I don't think you can get a better location than in the caves. All the displays are well presented and very interesting, there is even some local crime history in there. There are even interactive sections with some photo opportunities. If your a crime buff then this place is for you

We loved our visit to the true crime museum and would definitely recommend visiting to anyone who gets the chance. There's so much to learn and see it's great for true crime lovers!

If you are interested in crime and mystery, you must definitely visit this museum. One of the reasons why I visited Hastings was to see this museum, and honestly I am glad I went there. They have some great collections. All my imaginations while watching crime documentary finally got the actual physical form. The fact that the museum is built on a cave make the museum even more impressive. I would recommend this museum to all of the crime and mystery lovers.

Really good museum for any crime buff. It's very interactive with lots of info and artifacts. It gets quite chilly in the caves so you need a extra layer or two! Really enjoyed my visit and would recommend it for all ages.

Absolutely brilliant museum. Some great artefacts and some very interesting items on display. Quite a lot of items crammed into a small museum. The items on display, and the associated info with them, I found to be just about right....giving all the details, but not going too deep that you lose interest. It's also great that the museum is housed in the caves. It really gives it that slightly creepy feeling when combined with the subtle creepy music also played. This is a great museum containing some great exhibits and is well worth a visit. It's all on one level and appeared almost entirely accessible. There are toilets available too and a small shop for crime related souvenirs. It wasn't busy when I visited, so this was a bonus as I didn't feel rushed. I'd say to allow 60-90 minutes for a visit... but there is no time limit. You're free to view as quickly as you want to. There's plenty to take in. I feel the entrance fee is about right too and well worth it.. I found it really interesting and informative, and I am going to return.

V macabre ! Worth visiting for an insight into some of the worst things in life. I was actually really shocked by some of the exhibits and wasn’t even prepared for what I was going to see, you’ll know what I mean when you visit. Reno who works on reception and on the tours is an expert and fantastic to chat to, she genuinely is a star and her knowledge of all sorts coupled with her personality is a major highlight. I feel she should be in Hollywood ! 🤩

Well kept country park with great coastal views, unspoilt nature and Exmoor ponies. Challenging but enjoyable walks down through Warren Glen, Fairlight Glen and Ecclesbourne Glen - after heavy rain, the steep paths can be extremely muddy but the effort is rewarded with waterfalls and an exotic looking beach. Superb views of the ever changing cliffs and landslip from near the coastguard station. The perennially flowering gorse brightens up the landscape all year round. Café and toilet facilities at The Bale House visitor centre. Plenty of paid parking (charges aren't too steep but machines don't give change). A great place to walk the dog (when it hasn't been too wet) and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. My favourite time to visit is on a clear day after a period of heavy rain in the winter months, when the waterfalls are in full flow. On winter evenings there are gorgeous sunsets looking west. An unspoilt gem on the south coast, with a landscape and atmosphere not found anywhere else east of Dorset.

Coastal Country Park located to the East of Hastings near the village of Fairlight. Very nice spot with plenty to explore that has enough options to make it worth making multiple visits. You can walk to Hastings from the main visitor centre car park which looks like it would be a good 10k circular walk. There are a number of smaller circular walks within the park as well. We're planning on going back with the kids to see what we can find. There's a lookout hill, hermits cave, natural spring to find!

This was a beautiful coastal hike. The trail was covered in Bluebells and Wild Garlic. An enjoyable amount of incline too. Plenty of people on the trail / popular. I was lucky with parking but it does get very busy.

Sooo beautiful! One of my favourite walks / hikes I have done. The wildlife, the woodlands and of course seeing the sea throughout. Will be returning. It is clean too and well maintained

Beautiful place. Forest on cliffs, little waterfall hidden inside. Easy access from car park. Just be prepared for climbing up and down hills and be careful when wet as it's quite slippery.

Nice building, decent cafe/ restaurant with views overlooking the Fishing area (the Stade) The art exhibits are not quite my cup of tea, although I appreciate the thought and work that has gone into their creation. Good to see that local schools have been involved and have work on display.

Great contemporary art gallery with very exciting and innovative exhibitions. Artists you probably will not see anywhere else. It has an excellent cafe with great views over the seafront and fishing boats. Hastings Old Town has lots to do and look at nearby. If you have the time, East Hill has great views and the country park is great for a walk.

Visited Undersea exhibition. Nice curation and lovely venue. Haven't tried the new cafe but its view was stunning.

V good gallery - full price is quite pricey, if you can afford it or qualify for a discount, it's great.

This gallery is small but beautifully designed inside and out with lots of different spaces currently exhibiting 3 very different artists. It’s the kind of gallery where you pay because want to see the work so always check for what is on.

We happened across this on one of the 'fun' days by chance, we frequently visit Hastings but hadn't been in before. The fun day was certainly that! My two kiddies had a blast and do did I! We did ribbon dancing in a beautiful multicoloured rainbow installation, we made self portrait posters inspired by the artists work and also drew self portraits and hung them in a gallery. The gallery is smallish, but, it is full of high quality art an amazing gift shop and if you're lucky enough to be there for a fun day make sure you join in too with all the activities!

Nice little train ride along the seafront from the car park to town centre. Great value and very friendly staff.

Single trip is around 5 min. The fare is £5 for a round trip. We paid £20 for 5 person. Infant and kids paid the same. We ride 2 different diesel engines. The kids love it.

Lovely place, so unusual. In the center of Hastings. The must visit place for sure. A staff could be a bit friendly, looks they are not really like for they are doing. But all in all the place is amazing. Highly recommend to everyone

Great little family run attraction for everyone. Single ticket for £2 or £3 return. It takes you to the amusement park. Lovely ride for the whole family through the fishing village of Hastings. Close to major car parks and other attractions. Different types or trains operating quite frequently. No card payment is accepted (did not expected) so make sure you have some cash. I would definitely recommend this for anyone.

Very friendly little steam railway, giving a little ride along the sea front. Highly recommended as it gets you from the car park to the town area quite easily. Get the all day rover ticket to save money for the return trips!

My son absolutely loved this! Fantastic little train - a short five minute ride but absolutely perfect for toddlers.

Great amount of items from every period in history on display. Loved the Grey Owl story with a mock up of his log cabin and many personal items of his to see. Some stairs but there are lifts to all levels. Great art exhibition also. Worth a visit

Went to see the Durbar Hall, which is far more impressive and intricate in person than in the photos. The wooden model of the Sahranpur Jami Masid is also lovely. A must visit for anyone interested in the history of Hastings and for lovers of early 20th century Indian art.

The design of this museum is great. Lots of space. Child friendly. Wonderfully interesting contents. Great for adults too. My only criticism would be that the notes next to the exhibits is too small. Which was frustrating for me. Maybe though there is a guide. I will definitely revisit. Photos taken by my 4 1/2 year old grand daughter. Thankyou Hastings Musuem.

This was my first visit to the museum. The place is very accessible and clean. The car park is very small. The only staff member I saw was very polite and helpful. The exhibits have a lot of replicas which is ok but not everything is labelled, so you don't always know what you're looking at. It's quite a small museum actually and when I went the dinosaur section was not open. Entry was free.

Wonderful museum. Very interesting items in there. Very quiet at that time (midday, weekday) Staff lovely. In the pasted have taken my children to events they have had for them. Also i'm a big fan of Grey Owl, Thanks everyone. Will come again soon. ☺️

It has a lot of artefacts on display and rich history to tell. Staff were friendly, self toured, and a great place to take the kids. It's not really wheelchair accessible as there's quite a number of stairs to climb and descend when going around the whole place. Mythomania was on display, and I saw one that looked like optimus prime. Loved it.

Completely free, easily 2+ hours worth of stuff here to view, that includes us who don't really care for art so much, so those that do will have a field day. There's definitely more history than art, if that was going to put you off. My favourite part was Grey Owl, but the Durbar Hall was the most impressive, the woodwork was so immensely detailed, a lost art.

Great evening with 3 fantastic tribute bands. Some of the upstairs seating is a bit tired, but the venue has easy access to toilets and multiple bars. The staff are very welcoming and helpful.

Hastings main theatre. Located on the seafront directly opposite the pier. No car park but there is an underground car park a short walk away that often has spaces. Great venue and it seats quite a few. The bar area that overlooks the seafront is nice but gets very busy and you end up queuing ages for a drink.

I absolutely loved my first visit to this theatre. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Me and my daughter watched Rumours and it was a brilliant show with a fun atmosphere. Very enjoyable experience. Will definitely return :)

Great performance by veteran folk-rock band Steeleye Span (NB photography and filming strictly prohibited but Maddy the singer said we could do it during the encore).

Teeming with life for Harry Hill. Just the right size for engagement and atmosphere and handily located. Decent bar service and just a nice friendly viable round. Top tip is that when the loos on the first turn of the staircase are rammed then there are others in the basement which are generally Very different.

I love this theatre and the show this evening 'The Bootleg Beatles' was excellent and very enjoyable until at the finale when security staff caused totally unnecessary trouble with their officious behaviour. They ruined my and many others evening. The band was really upset by them and came and shook our hands at the end. I hope the theatre management don't use this security company in future.

Beautiful venue, very helpful staff. Only downside was I was unable to book the advertised adult and child combined ticket and buying one adult and one child ticket separately cost more.
