Seafood restaurant
Kayuko's Restaurant is a must-visit spot in the heart of Huatulco, offering excellent food and service. The seafood platters are particularly recommended for their freshness and flavor. Visitors rave about dishes like 'Esa madre ceviche,' cream-stuffed shrimp, and seafood molcajete. While some have noted that the pizza dough could be improved, the toppings are described as incredibly delicious.
Been here several times and was super please every time except when I ordered pizza. The pizza dough seemed a little undercoked but the toppings were incredibly delicious. Their seafood platters are super fresh and flavorful. I strongly recommend this place. Their staff is very attentive and always provide excellent service. The "Esa madre ceviche", the cream stuffed shrimp and the seafood molcajete are my favorites. Yhe shrimp tacos are so good and satisfying. I strongly recommend this place, it is one of my favorites Here in the pueblo.

This is a lovely town to visit when in the Huatulco area. This restaurant was amazing. The seafood was incredible and the service was great. We went with a group of 12 and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and staff. I will definitely go back again

Lovely beach with beautiful calm water. Better down the far right side near la Hama as. Water is cleaner and better for swimming
Chris L — Google review
Once you arrive, you will be approached immediately by restaurant staff trying to convince you to go into their restaurants. Facing the beach, walk to the right look for the bathrooms & showers & take the public path to the beach. The water was calm, lovely & incredibly clear. Be aware that in the afternoon numerous boat tours show up quickly and their customers are herded into the restaurants to be fleeced. I simply walked to a quiet area of the beach & set up my space and had an enjoyable time.
Cameron H — Google review
Very beautiful beach. We went on a boat tour in the afternoon and it wasn’t too crowded, but the several restaurants will send aggressive staff to invite you to sit in the shade. Even our boat tour guide said we had to sit at a certain restaurant. To one side of the beach there are showers and restrooms. If you use the restaurant restrooms you have to pay for the privilege. We sat at one restaurant and ordered guacamole for $150 pesos which is about $8.00 US. It’s a very large bowl and very tasty guacamole. No shade unless you dine or bring your own.

Tons of beach side restaurants of which the staff will accost you as soon as you get out of a taxi, trying to get you to come to their place. At the far left end of the beach, there's a small public swimming area where we were able to snorkel from and see a wide variety of small fish. The waves and current there were fine for swimming and our kids being in the water. Beautiful turquoise, warm water.

Beautiful❤️🫶🏽only thing this beach goes in deep very soon. Also be aware of the restaurants on the beach they tend to add extras to your tab.

Our favorite beach in Huatulco! The water is clear and refreshing and the sand is so soft! You can snorkel around the rocks when the water is calm or play in the rolling waves. There are a ton of restaurants/beach bars to choose from with parking at each. There is also a taxi stand at the top of the hill. It's only about a 10min drive from Centro and a very cheap taxi ride. Also! We have been allowed to bring our dog to the beach bars and tie her up to our table while we swim.

Took a day trip to waterfalls on a vacation to Huatulco. Spectacular day walking in nature culminating in view of falls. TIP: Recommend taking a tour. The roads are narrow and bumpy, and I would not suggest self driving.
Terri D — Google review
Amazing experience. It's a little far and costs 100 pesos per person but it is such a huge cascada and dogs are welcome. We spent the whole day there.
Secil K — Google review
This place is absolutely stunning! Incredible pure water, so powerful and peaceful. The only thing about it which is not great it’s a road from Oaxaca and people who are working there don’t speak English at all, sobe really for the tricky parts.
Iryna H — Google review
Great place for a short walk along the river with many small waterfalls and places to swim. The water is refreshing and crystal clear. The road is mostly fine with some dirt sections. It's possible to drive any normal car there, if you are fine with dirtroads.
Andre — Google review
Paradise on earth. Have a local guide take you there and enjoy swimming in all the pools. The water is clean and has the right temperature. It's a bit of a drive getting there, but certainly worth it. Take at least half a day and visit early (or late) to avoid the crowds. There's a restaurant on site.
Jelle S — Google review
Definitely magical place and we had such a great time. Felt like a little waterpark for us. Spectacular setting and great photos to Greenberger this place. So glad we came early before the crowds be we had the place to ourselves for 30 minutes before ppl started arriving! I would definitely combine it with Cascada Las Brisas!
Sam N — Google review
Place is Magical like the name says. Crystal clear water with gorgeous jungle views. from the parking lot there are several waterfalls getting bigger the higher you go. Pictures don’t do justice. Once at the top you can purchase refreshments and snacks- if you love waterfalls you cant miss this one. The way there is kind of hidden about an hour into the jungle from the coastal highway. There are a lot of motorcycles that are willing to take you there for a fee. Entrance fee is $100 pesos per person. Definitely coming back.
Samuel A — Google review
What a beautiful place, clean, fun and adventures well worth the ride. We had rented scooters and was able to ride up. The road is paved 95% of the way and full of little settlements, restaurants and farms as you go. The last 15 minutes or so was bumpy and rough with holes and rocks, I recommend riders with some off road experience.

A nice visit to the privately run botanical garden in Oaxaca. Breakfast, lunch, swim included in the price (800 pesos per person - booked directly with Hagia Sofia). Armando (the owner) named this place for his daughter. He's a knowledgeable and friendly guy, who expertly guided us through the amazing variety of plants and trees. There are multiple washrooms and rest points with refreshing drinks along the way. Lunch and breakfast are delicious. The waterfall is nice, and an excellent place to swim. Also included in the price is pickup from our hotel in Huatulco. Totally worth visiting if you're in Huatulco!

(Translated by Google) Excellent reserve, it has paradisiacal fruits such as mangosteen, rambutan, noni, cocoa, star fruit, among others. You can try them if you buy the breakfast package which is highly recommended. Inside you will find many flowers and fruits, there is a waterfall but the time to swim is not very long, it is better to dip your feet and take photos. I would visit it again on my next trip to Huatulco.

Terra-Cotta in La Crucecita, Huatulco is a highly recommended restaurant offering delicious Mexican cuisine. The menu features a variety of dishes including bastilla, pasteles, coconut shrimps, and more. Visitors praise the friendly service and English menu availability for non-Spanish speakers. The restaurant is known for its beautiful food presentation and excellent taste at reasonable prices.
I had dinner here and it was great! Delicious shrimp in a tamarind sauce. I also had one of their mezcal drinks and it was very well made. I loved how cozy this restaurant felt at dinner time. The staff were also very attentive.

The plates we chose were all excellent and the service fast and friendly. Special mention to the 🥥 crusted 🐟 with spicy mango sauce was delish, My friends gave 👍🏼 to the 🍤 in tamarind sauce, and the seafood pasta. The only disappointment was the wine, but hey ho, it was my fault for choosing it.

My favourite restaurant in all of Huatulco, service is excellent. It gets busy so you might be waiting for a table. French toast is delicious, my favourite is the coconut, but the orange flavour is very good too. Banana cree was also very good. Coffee is also excellent. We tried many dishes from the menu as we kept coming back, some are better than others. I will definitely be back for more food.

We went for Breakfast at Terra Cotta. What a great experience. The menu has English for those of us who are not good at spanish comprehension. The servers were very friendly. The food was made quickly and our meals arrived at our table together. The presentation of our food was beautiful. The taste was excellent and fresh. The prices were very good for the quality of food served. The serving sizes were very good portions. I recommend this restaurant for foodies.
Crypto K — Google review
One of the few places with air conditioning, white tablecloths and napkins, this feels like a more upscale restaurant in town and it is lovely. Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience the last two times we were there on this recent trip. Our meals seem to have been forgotten and we were waiting a long time after people came and went with theirs. No apology or reason. We barely got any service at all and would have had more to drink had we had a server come over and ask us. The service wasn't very friendly either and we were starting to wonder what was going on, as the Mexicans around us were being waited on, hand and foot. We came back the next day to try again, and had another disappointing experience, my food was cold, the garlic bread was inedible like it was left on a counter for days. I tried to explain to the server who simply took it away and didn't replace it with a new one or offer any kind of assistance I had to ask for some bread after my meal was almost completely gone and they brought out a couple of thin slices after I had already finished eating. It was very disappointing, especially as we had liked it very much there previously and recommended it to people

Bar & grill
La Crema Bar is a vibrant spot located in La Crucecita, Huatulco, filled with hand-painted murals and Mexican-inspired artwork. The eclectic furniture and domed ceiling create a cool ambiance. Visitors can enjoy tequila cocktails like the Mariachi Melon, flavored with Midori and lemon, while sitting on stiletto-shaped seats. The bar also offers delicious pizzas from its clay oven.
We’ve been meaning to come here for years and just haven’t gotten around to it. But we were craving pizza so we came. It was outstanding. Definitely worth the hype it gets. Great pizza, unique atmosphere and awesome service. You feel very welcome here. Can’t believe we haven’t come before but it won’t be our last visit. As a foodie, take my advice. This place shouldn’t be missed.

Great chill vibes. Staffs AMAZING and friendly with great music taste! Yummy cocktails and food. We ordered a pizza but totally forgot the name. I do remember it was recommended and it has this white crema on it. Still salivating as I think about it. If you want a little bit of heat, ask for some habanero 🤤.

Absolutely delicious pizza here. So good we came back twice. The best pizza I’ve had in a long time! Highly recommend!
D M — Google review
Food and drink were good. Place opened at 5, not 4 as Google suggested. Band started at 5:15, not 9 as the sign out front suggested. Most of the folks lined up to get in upon opening were young families with real young kids. I don't think they had planned on torturing their kids ears like they ended up doing. A fresh light bulb in the men's room would be a worthwhile idea...

Funkadelic, witchy, hippy. Loved the vibe there. The staff was great. Now, let's talk about the pizza! Perfect dough and toppings. The best marks and the mezcal is delish.

We haven’t been to the Huatulco area in ten years, when there were only a handful of restaurants and la Crema was located on the square. Back then there were lineups to get in. It is still awesome food, the pizza delicious. It’s a trip down memory lane for those of us who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s with the music and nostalgia. A bit loud for some maybe.

The Terraza del Mar restaurant, located within the Quinta Bella hotel, offers a unique dining experience with its original cuisine. While the photo on the Map may not do justice to the beauty of the place, it is the dessert that truly stands out. The tasting menu costs $650 but is well worth it, considering that beach restaurants often charge more for average flavors. Highly recommended for those seeking an extraordinary culinary adventure.
Amazing service and great food. We ordered the tuna, octopus and marlin quesadillas and were very good. Rosemary ice cream was delicious. Price/ quality very reasonable
Eric V — Google review
We visited this restaurant based on its glowing reviews, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst dinner experience we had during our four-week stay in Mexico. Service and Atmosphere • Staff: Although the staff was friendly, they appeared poorly trained. For example, they had little knowledge about the wine selection, simply relaying the chef’s negative opinion about the orange wine rather than offering informed recommendations. • Ambiance: We were the only persons in the restaurant during our visit, which did little to enhance the experience. Unbeknownst to us, the restaurant closes at 22:00, adding to the overall confusion and disappointment. Food and Beverage • Wine: We requested a bottle of dry white wine due to the unavailability of most wines on the menu. However, we were served a very sweet white wine priced at €60. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the staff refused to exchange it, leaving us with an expensive wine that did not meet our expectations. • Mussels: Based on staff recommendations, we ordered the mussels. Regrettably, they were not fresh—possibly even canned—and we ended up not eating them. • Gem Salad: This dish was decent but unremarkable, offering little in terms of flavor or creativity. • Seared Tuna Steak: The highlight of our meal, the tuna steak, was well prepared and remarkably fresh. • Espresso Martini: Another redeeming aspect was the espresso martini, which was very well made. Billing Experience The situation worsened when it came time to settle the bill. We were informed that we had to pay for every item on the menu. When we suggested a gesture of goodwill—such as an espresso martini on the house—to offset the poor experience, the response was extreme: the staff called security, insisted that we pay, and ultimately escorted us out. This reaction was both unprofessional and unnecessary. Despite a few well-prepared dishes, the overall experience was marred by poor service, questionable food quality, and an inflexible billing policy. We left feeling disappointed and disrespected. This restaurant did not live up to the high expectations set by its reviews. If you are looking for good food and service, go to Ve El Mar, they have a good grill and stone oven. Very good meat and fresh fish.

Great place. Everyone was happy with their meals. Jonathan was very personable and ensured we had what we needed. One small critique, as we were trying to enjoy the ambiance of our setting, our a focus was rerouted to the blaring ACDC and other classic rock bangers from the adjacent establishment.

We celebrated our last night in Huatulco dining at Terraza del Mar restaurant. The view and ambiance was lovely, the food very good and the service top notch with both Jonathon and Kevin. Highly recommend you try this place out!
Wendy N — Google review
We were so excited to spend the last night of our wonderful Huatulco vacation at a fancy place. However, we couldn’t have been more disappointed. Due to awful service, we left after our appetizers and walked to the al pastor taco stand past the supermarket. The time it took us to walk there and get our food and drinks was about the same as it took Terraza del Mar to even acknowledge us and take our drink orders. The best service we had was leaving and being chased down for the money (which, if they would’ve actually visited that table, they would’ve found). Worst service we’ve had in years. And by the way, they had 3 servers and 4-5 active tables! But thank goodness for that taco stand. Go there instead!! Or if you’re looking for fancier, go to Terra Cotta in the main square.

Absolutely Amazing!!! Infusion of tastes and beautiful presentation. Loved the 3 Chef's surprise courses along with our choosen courses. Such a delightful ambience and wonderful service. The Chef has a passion for food. One of the top restaurants in Huatulco. The price of the 6 course meal is reasonable and so worth it, the wine prices are exspensive. A must experience if you are not a fussy eater and appreciate something very unique in food. Highly recommend.

Seafood restaurant
El Grillo Marinero is a popular restaurant in La Crucecita, Mexico, known for its fantastic seafood and friendly service. The restaurant has been serving delicious dishes for 30 years and is highly recommended by visitors. While some diners enjoyed the fish of the day and excellent service, others found certain seafood dishes to be disappointing. It's advisable to make reservations in advance due to its popularity.
We have been eating around town for twelve days and this was definitely one of the better restaurants, they know how to cook their seafood. I had the fish of the day (Amberjack), portion was huge and it was one of the tastiest meals of grilled fish I have ever eaten. Wife had garlic butter shrimp and she was also highly impressed. It was a Monday we were there early and when we left it was an hour wait so if you are dining after 6 maybe make a reservation.
Peter J — Google review
I honestly don’t underhand the popularly of this place. I ordered one of their specialties which was the octopus in its tint and I honestly have had it much more tastier and better served in cities where there’s not even sea around. I was hoping to be impressed by the taste and the style of a seas side city but this was a total disappointment. The octopus was chewy and the tint taste was not strong enough. The rice they put on the side, doesn’t mingle well with the octopus at all. I wouldn’t recommend this dish to anyone. The staff at the restaurant was not friendly at all and they seemed quite indifferent to their customers, as if they didn’t need the traffic. Out waiter also seemed tired so I’m not sure if that’s why we didn’t perceive the service as good. The price was high compared to other establishments nearby and the value for the food compared to what we paid was in my opinion not matched. In general I would say the restaurant is not worth visiting.
Emy P — Google review
A local guide said this was THE best place for fish. Whew, was he right! I ordered the butter and garlic, the fish of the day was mahi mahi and it was an enormous filet! I couldn’t eat it all, even if I wanted to. This is likely the best fish I’ve ever had. Go! You won’t regret it.

Reservations advised. The shrimp with butter and garlic was lovely, the shrimp marinero not so much (huge portion, but rubbery) Next time, I’ll make sure to order the fresh stuff.

Don Juan Cocina de Autor is a hidden gem in Oaxaca state, offering reasonably priced and excellent food. The restaurant provides a variety of dishes including salads, hamburgers, coconut shrimp, fish and chips, and more. It caters to dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and dairy-free meals. Known for its amazing French and gourmet cuisine, the restaurant offers delicious options like escargots, shrimp with saffron sauce spaghetti, and grouper fillet in leek sauce.
What a find yesterday… can’t believe how amazing the food was. The staff were very friendly and attentive to every request… then when we didn’t think it could get any better we received the bill… felt guilty that such amazing food was so inexpensive. Everyone who visits the area should eat here at least twice.

All I can say is… WOW. This place deserves to be on Chef’s Table. Every dish was uniquely prepared, made with high quality local ingredients, creative, DELICIOUS, and presented beautifully. This chef is an absolute creative artist. I will be recommending this place to all my family that frequently vacations in Mexico. I came here for 3 separate meals because it was so good. I wish I could have tried every item on the menu. This is a 10 star rating!!!! I am sad I don’t live here solely for the reason that I can’t come back here on the regular. I am now a big fan of the chef!

It’s ok, the service is good. The escargot was served a bit cold. The Mahi Mahi was tasty, the chicken was mediocre. You can do better for dinner elsewhere in Huatulco imo, especially for the price. Most of the good reviews are many years old so maybe they have new owners or chefs.
