Mysore Palace, a stunning Indo-Saracenic architectural marvel completed in 1912, boasts a grand durbar hall and hosts weekly illuminations. The palace is famous for the traditional Dasara procession, Jamboo Savari, featuring a decorated elephant carrying the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari during Vijaya Dashami. This centuries-old celebration was initiated by Raja Wodeyar in 1610 and has continued uninterrupted.
Its a nice place to witness our History. We can see many monuments stored here which are related to Mysore Dynasty. Its a gift to our Karnataka by Mysore Wodeyar's Family. Don't miss to see the Lighting in the evening. Entire Palace glows with 1lakh Bulbs. Never miss to visit this place when u r in Mysore.

Beautiful in everyway. Cannot be missed when in mysore. Get a pair of socks to avoid walking barefeet (shoes not allowed) The Palace is very beautiful, however the tour can feel short (Guides can solve this) Make sure you visit the two temples at exit.

Mysore Palace is a must visit if you are travelling to Mysore. The palace is open from morning 9 to evening 5.30. Tickets are issued upto 5.30 in the evening, but the security forces us to come out by 5.45 itself. So it is advisable to reach there by 4.30. The ticket can be taken using Whatsapp also. There are two big parking areas for vehicles and hence no issue of parking. There is light and sound show also on Monday to Saturday from 7 to 8 in the night (Monday to Wednesday in Kannada and Thursday to Saturday in English). Saturday there is an additional show in Kannada also. Cost is 100 for Kannada and 120 for English. Children below 10 are allowed free of cost. On Sundays and Public Holidays it is open for public in the night with illumination.

I visited Mysore Palace and it was a beautiful place. The architecture was amazing and full of detail, really worth seeing. It was a bit crowded since I went on the weekend, but overall, I enjoyed the visit a lot.
Subham J — Google review
Hi! Paid parking for cars and 2 wheelers. Entrance tickets available for cash and no UPI or Cards accepted. Take a guided tour of the palace. Anticipate large crowds on the weekends and holidays. The access path to the stairs is narrow and feels stuffy on a humid day. Carry a selfie stick. The toilets are clean and wheelchair accessible. The food stalls are equipped with soft drinks, water and biscuits.

One of the tallest churches in South india. Constructed in the British era. Wonderful architecture. An excellent experience which takes us back centuries…… Great church to visit and pray … The premises are well maintained and the atmosphere is serene. You need to remove your footwear before entering. Worth a visit. Photos are not allowed inside, again shoes must be removed.

Karanji Lake, located in Mysuru, Karnataka, is a 222-acre lake within a nature park. Visitors can explore a walk-through aviary, butterfly garden, and museum while enjoying the serene surroundings. The lake is not only a relaxing spot but also an ideal destination for birdwatchers with around 147 species of birds to observe. From Sandpipers to migratory birds like painted storks and ibises, there are plenty of opportunities for bird enthusiasts.
Beautiful lake adjacent to zoo. Boating also available. Good place to o spent quality time fun with friends and family. More safety measures should be there for boating. Life jackets are very old ,not much useful in case any issue while boating.

The place is great with a big lake however it’s not just a lake but a Nature reserve also with variety of trees and birds. The place is huge with adequate sitting and great for kids as they have a big kids play area. One can try the boating also. Great place to spend time. Parking is available inside.

We had time so we went here before we depart from Mysore. A cool park surrounded by zoo, variety of plantation & a lake. Entry fees: 50 ₹/head, which is more I felt. Parking extra. There is boating but again over priced tickets 100₹/head for 15mins ride. It's really a beautiful well maintained lake cum park, still under going some development works. Toilets is available but at dead end, would suggest to create one at entry level. How to reach: public transportation is there n by auto. I would like to add this information here. Auto driver's here in Mysore are looters, even if you book a cab service from any apps like uber, driver will call you or direct comes to the pickup point & ask 20₹ extra on the price shown at app. They talk well but are looting each visitor. Every visiting place in Mysore are within 3k radius n these auto driver's charges you ₹ 70+ for even 1.5km location. Horrible it is. Overall good experience, photogenic place.
Smita H — Google review
The lake is beautiful, pelicans family life, but the prices were high compared to all the attractions I visited in India, 500 rupees for entry, 500 rupees for a boat ride, a short ride. The entire walk in the park took me 45 minutes, I paid 1000 rupees and didn't see anything special, so I think this is a high price even for a foreigner in India. For example, the Ellora caves also cost 500 rupees, but how much delight, and a multi-hour visit.
Sveta R — Google review
This lake covering an area of more than 90 acres is a part of the Karangi Natural Park hence it is surrounded by nature on all sides. The lake is popular amongst the children because of the availability of boating facilities. This lake is the habitat of different species of birds and during the winter months migratory birds visit this area. There is also a watchtower by the side of the lake from where one can get spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding areas. So the Karanji Lake seems to be an ideal place for nature and bird lovers.

If you are an art enthusiast, have 1-2 hours to peacefully stand and stare at the art pieces wondering at their beauty and reading about them, then this definitely is a perfect place for you. Kids might not find it very interesting as it is a collection of paintings and other art collections. Needs a little more maintenance because the floors are squeaky and rooms are dusty. Some of the paintings are getting ruined and it's very disheartening. Otherwise it's a very beautiful place !

Visiting the Jaganmohan Palace in Mysuru offers a captivating blend of royal heritage and artistic brilliance. Stepping into Jagan Mohan Palace feels like walking through a piece of Mysuru's rich royal past. The architecture is stunning, but what truly stands out is the art gallery—it’s filled with beautiful and rare paintings that are absolutely worth seeing. One small downside, though: there's no online or card payment at the ticket counter, so make sure to carry cash. That said, the experience inside more than makes up for the minor inconvenience. A charming and culturally rich spot to explore!

Old Original Hotel Vinayaka Mylari since 1938 is a legendary eatery in Mysore, known for serving the iconic Mysore masala dosa with precision and care. Despite its small size, this bustling establishment on Nazarbad Main Road is a must-visit for those seeking the best places to eat in Mysore. The restaurant's humble ambiance adds to its charm, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
One of the best dosas ever. They only offer plain dosa, masala dosa and idly for breakfast. Not even tea/coffee. But the dosa is worth it. It comes with a dollop of fresh butter, coconut chutney and onion+veg side dish. The texture of the dosas are perfect and the idlies are soft. They are not greasy but tastes amazing. There is generally a 10-15 minute wait during rush hours to get in. They have two restaurants on the same road near each other - one is the old one and the other just a year old.
L V — Google review
Went there to try the much hyped Mylari dosa, but was disappointed to the core. Yes, the dosa is fluffy and crispy outside soft inside. But the taste is just not good. The excessive oil/butter or whatever it is, made it hard to eat.
Ajay R — Google review
Look, I am a foodie and also a chef. I know about Indian cooking. Being cooking dishes my life. And when you hear this is the best dosa in Mysore! I have my reservations. Because now u doubt 🤔 the food tastes of those reviews. I mean there should be a definite basic idea of a Dosa. U can't just make something and say it's Dosa. And all those thousands of reviews raving about this place? Is it real? We went in early morning for breakfast. There's a new joint opened by them, with extra comfy seating. No menu, for there's just two items available - Benna masala dosa and Idly. With coconut chutney, nothing else. Idly was perfect, hot soft and fluffy. Dosa here is actually a uthappam, soft and not crispy. Golden brown colour with a mildly done onion potato masala. Very little spice. All served only with coconut chutney. No nothing apart from this. Not even coffee tea. Dosa is medium size priced at ₹55, idly at ₹15. The only thing special here is this. The concept. The idea. The items. That's it. It's simple yet tasty. But I still won't call it a Dosa. "Uthappam, Kal dosa" or something.
Adithya C — Google review
> I visited here for breakfast and had masala dosa , idly and coffee. > Masala dosa's taste was superb. > Idly also good . > Coffee perfect. > Limited menu items idly and dosa only. > Prices affordable. > Ambience good but limited seating capacity. > Service good. * Masala dosa price Rs.55 * Idly Rs 15 * Coffee Rs.15

Best dosa in mysuru town. I have been to several places to eat dosa, but this remains on the top of my list. I loved it. The benne dosa just melted in my mouth and was very tasty. The idli was very soft. More importantly, it's very cheap. I can't imagine having dosa for 55 rupees. I highly recommend this place. A must try for everyone.

#overall experience was disappointing. Food is tasty but service is very bad.👎 ✓ tasty food. • very bad service. • they have least consideration for waiting and sitting customers. • you have to wait a long time for getting your food. • expensive also. • very congested seating. 2 big people are forced to sit in a small bench. Old building but no better facilities 👎. • very congested location. • even no parking space provided except for some bikes. That too very rare. You have to find the parking area provided by the city authority.

We’ve been loyal patrons of this restaurant for nearly 23 years. Every time we visit Mysore — which is usually once or twice a month — we make it a point to stop by for lunch, evening snacks, or dinner. It has always been a go-to spot for us. However, over the past year, we've noticed a decline in the taste and quality of the food. Unfortunately, it no longer carries the same flavor and consistency that once made it stand out. This change has been a bit disappointing. That said, everything else about the restaurant remains the same — the ambience, service, and overall experience still reflect the charm we've appreciated for over two decades. We sincerely hope the management takes note of this feedback and works towards bringing back the original taste that made this place so special to us.

Hotel RRR A/C is a popular dining spot in Mysuru, known for its delectable biryani and kebabs. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including the famous Hanumanthus mutton pulao and chicken biriyani. Visitors can enjoy a satisfying meal in a pleasant atmosphere, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a delightful dining experience. The restaurant's thali is highly recommended for lunch, providing guests with an excellent selection of flavors.
RRR is a legendary name in Mysuru food scenes. I think they have a couple of branches in city as i was able to spit atleast 2. Easy to find place, parking was available nearby, had a good rush all 3 times i went here. Seating is simple and getting a place to seat for solo can be a challenge during peak hours. Menu is quite extensive. Andhra style cooking is their speciality and biryanis are quite a hit. I got to eat its super famous biryani during my 3rd attempt. Once I tried their special veg meals, which had a number of different items and were all super tasty. Liked it. Had also ordered few nonveg side dishes which were toooo goood. Biryani was so so awesome. Its a hot here and i could understNd why. Overall had a great experience all the time i went. Language a bit barrier here but ok. Pricing is bit on higher side but justies the homely feeling. I loved it and definitely will visit back.

Worst crowd management. Have to wait for so so long. Staffs are least bothered about customers and thier orders, especially if its parcel. They didn't even expand their seating arrangement even after so much demand. Like no progress at all. They don't care. Even though the food is good, the environment makes me leave the place and get the hell out of there.

The food was really good. Especially the chicken biryani and the boneless chicken dry fry. It was soft and tendery. If you visit mysore, this is a place you must try out definitely. This place is mostly crowded and you need to wait for sometime.

Absolutely loved my visit to RRR and this biryani has not lost its charm thankfully the spices are authentic and the taste is exclusive to the brand. A value for time and money spent always. Never leaving a room for disappointment worth visiting for sure.

We visited GTR last sunday and tried open butter dosa. It was really tasty and definitely the highlight of our visit! The overall menu looked great with a good variety of South Indian dishes, and the pricing was quite affordable. However, being a sunday, the place was extremely crowded, and the limited seating made it a bit uncomfortable. The cleanliness and maintenance of the place could also be improved. If you're planning a visit, try going on weekdays for a more relaxed experience.

We have tried a lot of iconic places in Bangalore but this was the first time visiting this iconic place of Mysuru and tbh we were thinking how good it can be. But this place outlived our expectations, from dosas to chow chow bath to onion uttapam (onion dosa), everything was great. Being an onion uttapam lover, this place is now one of the top of the list which serves the best onion uttapam other topper being IDC. Upma was also top notch. The good thing overall was, with less oil they could provide great items. We reached around 9 so the parking could be easily done on the road side with a few shops being open around.

This place is shit crowded. I didn't like the service here and it's hell to get anything. Not enough places to sit and people just randomly sit where they want to. Tried the pudi dosa which was average but seems to be very famous here. Coffee was nice.. Kesari bath was okayish with no pineapple pieces at all

Review upon invitation from Anirudh and Kavya- from the eyes of adolescents! A great place for South Indian breakfasts. The authentic flavour is refreshing. The crowd was continuous and you have to be quick on your toes to grab a seat, but the food makes it worth it. The breakfast is the peak hour and is only till 10:00 am. Overall, great food but you have to be able to handle yourself in a crowd.

I had the opportunity to taste the delicacies of Mysuru. My search for food ended at this popular place called Gayatri Tiffin Room (GTR) in Mysuru. I tried the following items: 1. Coffee 2. Rava Idly 3. Kesari Bath 4. Set Masala Dose Liked every dish. Especially the Rava idly, maybe because it was the first time for me and Kesari Bath which absolutely melts in your mouth. The service was quick as well.

GTR (Gayathri Tiffin Room) in Mysore is a charming spot that perfectly captures the essence of old-world charm and a slower, simpler life. It was on my list of places to try, but I wasn’t too hungry when I visited. I ended up trying their filter coffee and Mangalore buns. The filter coffee was excellent—rich, aromatic, and just what I needed. The Mangalore bun, however, was just okay, not particularly memorable. But what stood out was the vibe of the place—it felt nostalgic and inviting. The staff were incredibly sweet and added to the warm, homely atmosphere. If you’re looking to soak in Mysore’s laid-back culture and enjoy a cup of great coffee, GTR is definitely worth a visit!

Coffee was good. Dosa was okay okay, too much daalda (and jiddu) FYI, They don’t serve red chutney (kemp chutney), but that’s not a deal breaker.

We had our wedding and reception here and we absolutely loved it! The food is top notch! All of our guests loved the afternoon banana leaf meal, and our evening reception had lot of local delicacies. The venue is also so beautiful - the architecture and greenery makes it perfect for an outdoor event. Highly recommend checking out this place if you’re considering an event big or small!

The excellent staff service rather than the food defines the place . Though the food was also very good. Mr Raj went out of his way to make us feel welcome . Mr Balraj and Mr Gangadhar served us with speed and a smile also offered their recommendations Bhindi was excellent Steamed Rice sub par and did NOT meet expectations as it was not Basmati. A high end restaurant this should be offered at a minimum Tadka Dal was v good My friends rated the Mutton Biryani and Chicken Malai Kebabs 8 / 10 so great job done guys. However the mutton in the biryani was just adequate for one person so have an option in the menu for adding extra mutton pieces at a higher price On the whole, we had a lovely afternoon an enjoyed our lunch

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set a perfectly relaxed and inviting mood, with elegant decor and soft lighting. The staff greeted us warmly and were attentive throughout our meal, ensuring we felt well taken care of,The presentation was beautiful, and each bite was bursting with flavor. My dining companion ordered the seafood pasta, which she raved about, saying it was rich and satisfying without being too heavy. Overall, my experience at Oyster Bay Restaurant was truly remarkable.

Nice ambience. Food was good and service was excellent. Staff was very courteous and responsive. Even though the property is nice, washrooms are least maintained. The taps are broken, and don’t think that cost much to get it replaced.

Love the ambiance of this place . A very calm and peaceful place . The food was tasty and service was excellent. Soups and stares are always good . The quality of food they serve is consistent over the years . A hotel with greenery in the middle of city.

This place has nice ambiance, overall food is great, prawns starter was over cooked, other dishes were great. Service needs improvement may be they had less staff during Dusara. Mutton biryani was excellent!

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Raj for his exceptional management of the recent function held at the hotel. Despite the large crowd, Raj handled the event seamlessly, ensuring everything ran smoothly. His coordination with all staff members was commendable, and he maintained an excellent level of service throughout. A special mention must also go to the quality of the food, which was outstanding. It was truly top-notch and received numerous compliments from the guests. Raj's efforts in overseeing both the event and the catering were instrumental in making the occasion a memorable one. Thank you again to Raj and the entire team for their hard work and dedication. I look forward to hosting future events here
