Franco's Café is a charming spot located at the top of Pyrgos, offering delightful food and beverages along with a mesmerizing view of Pyrgos and the entire island. The café provides a magical ambiance with classical music playing in the background. It is highly recommended to visit during the day for refreshing drinks and snacks, as well as during sunset for a memorable dinner experience.
A million dollar view of the sunset and Agean sea! A wonderful place to watch the sunset while having dinner. The staff was wonderful and attentive, always smiling when coming to our table. We had a few drinks and shared the assortments and prosciutto open face sandwich. Had we made the reservation for the table in advance, we would have had a frontline view. But seriously any view from that patio is golden! The food is delicious, view magnificent and staff caring. We highly recommend this place!

Beautiful place to sit at the top of Pyrgos and enjoy the sunset. They take reservations for the front row of tables during sunset. Call them as I don't know how this works. Food is good with prices slightly higher due to the location. If you are on a budget, there are free sunset viewing areas to the north.

My favorite place in all of Santorini! The sunset from here is beyond describing. We came abit earlier than the sunset as we didn’t have a reservation but the staff were awesome super fast and kind and gave us an amazing table !! Highly recommended this place

Stumbled upon this place walking through the village and couldn’t have been happier. Amazing place and food was phenomenal!!! I can imagine for sunset this place would be super cool but I’d suggest getting here 15-30min before sunset otherwise you’re going to get blasted with the sun. Highly recommend visiting!!!

Best sunset spot in Santorini. Amazing place and perfect music selection. Don’t miss it! Maybe the drinks need an improvement but again who cares what you drink when the rest of your senses are enjoying every moment.

Right on the top, Franco’s Cafe offers the best view in Pyrgos Kallistis. The night view offers a different mood from the day time; giving it a sense of mystic and romance.

Excellent location where to watch the sunset in Santorini! The lady who served me was so lovely and sorry I completely forgot your name! 🫣 Had a few drinks and a fresh lemonade. They are not overly priced considering the location and the stunning view! We didn't have any food here only the drinks and watching the sunset. I highly recommend this place.

Santorini is the largest island in a small circular archipelago known for its rugged terrain and classic blue and white architecture. It offers various tourism amenities and attractions, including stunning beaches like Kamari Beach, picturesque windmills at Kato Mili, and the historic site of Acrotiri. Visitors can also enjoy wine tasting with amazing views, breathtaking sunsets in Fira and Pyrgos, as well as delicious dining experiences at places like KIPOS Restaurant.
We stopped for the second time in Santorini in June on a cruise. Just an amazingly beautiful place. The views are fantastic in every direction. Great food, great pictures and really nice people even though there were lots of tourists. We made lots of great pictures and came home with wonderful memories.
Perry H — Google review
Santorini is one of my most favourite places to have ever visited. We stayed in Kamari but was easy to explore Oia and Fira as well and take in the stunning views. Lots of excellent restaraunts and bars to choose from and shops and sights to take in and places to visit. A highlight was taking a sunset catamaran trip in Oia, friendly staff on board, excellent food and good selection of drinks. The boat trip to see the black, red and white beaches is well worth doing. The beaches are beautiful but would recommend getting beach shoes as not sandy beaches but pebbles/stones so can be tricky to walk on.
Carol S — Google review
Probably the most beautiful of the six Greek Islands I've seen, not just a tourist trap...but if you stop for a little bit and take in all the beauty of these picturesque cliffside landscapes of Fira and Oia...they're really something spectacular to see. I'm amazed of the construction of homes and businesses hanging off cliffsides with amazing scenic views...from churches, hotels, restaurants/bars/cafe's, retail shops, money exchanges to vineyards can all be found on this cliff. Arriving via water seems like the best option to get to this island, then onto land transport up to a point, no vehicles driven through the actual areas as it would be too congested along with the many visitors plus citizens. Getting off the island was via a cable car for those who entered via the sea...Santorini is definitely a bucket list destination..though it is at a premium to stay here..would love to go back for an overnight to see those beautiful sunsets.

Santorini is famous for its beautiful views. The island sits on high cliffs and offers stunning views of the blue Aegean Sea. The white buildings with blue roofs stand out against the sky, creating a lovely scene. During sunrise and sunset, the island changes colors. Sunsets in Oia are especially popular. Many people come to see the sky turn orange, pink, and purple. Santorini also has a rich history. There are ancient ruins and sites that tell stories from the past. The local culture and delicious food invite visitors to explore more.

Santorini is honestly one of the most magical places we’ve ever been. My wife and I still can’t get over how unreal it felt – like stepping into a postcard. The atmosphere was just heavenly. Sure, it was blazing hot, but we didn’t let that stop us from exploring. We spent almost a whole day visiting Fira, Oia, Oia Church, Church of Panagia Platsani, and The Virgin Mary of the Akathist Hymn Church. Every single spot was breathtaking, and having a tour guide made it so much easier to soak in the history and beauty. We got there as part of a cruise, and arriving by sea was an experience in itself. I’m not sure if flying is better, but honestly, seeing the island from the water was unforgettable. A few things we loved: Souvenirs: The shops are so charming! We picked up some handmade dolls – they’re such cute and thoughtful gifts, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. We also saw shops selling ouzo and local wines, which make perfect presents for family and friends. Food: Oh, the food! We found a cliffside spot for dinner, and eating with that view was unreal. If you go, you have to try the loukoumades – these little fried dough balls with honey. I might’ve eaten too many, but they were worth it. Getting Around: One thing to keep in mind – climbing the steps around Santorini can be tough, especially for older folks. We saw some people hiring donkeys to help with the steep paths, which looked like a fun option. Definitely bring comfy shoes, though – you’ll need them! The hotels are out of this world. We didn’t stay overnight since it was part of our cruise, but from what we saw, they look like the perfect mix of luxury and charm. This place left us with memories we’ll cherish forever. Whether it’s wandering the white-washed streets, enjoying Greek desserts with a view, or watching the sun set into the sea, it’s just pure magic. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

The view over the Caldera is amazing, no doubt. The sunset is good at Oia, but better at Imerovigli. The views are great, but it is CROWDED, mainly due to the daily cruise ships. It is really CROWDED, as is Oia at sunset. Very unpleasant. And it is EXPENSIVE. We bought two cocktails and a bottle of water in Oia for 53 euros - $90 AUD. Sure we had a great view, but really? And then the staff asked for a tip! There are some lovely places like Perissa Beach - The Black Beach - and the ruins at Alkotiri are fascinating. The public transport system relies on buses, and they are a joke. Cheap for sure, but packed with tourists. And the main bus depot would be the unfriendliest, unsafest place I have ever seen. Uber is a better option, but they are owned by one person, and it is EXPENSIVE monopoly. I hear local council may be looking at ways to minimise/control tourist numbers, and I think that would be good for everyone. SANTORINI - I’ve been, I’ve seen it, I won’t be going back. However please don’t let me stop you, go and check out the amazing views, visit the black beach, but be prepared. Take your money with you. One way to beat the crowds anywhere in Santorini is to go early. And please, if you benefited from this review can you please give me a thumbs up? That way others will also get to benefit from this review. Recommended the following 1. Perissa Beach - The Black Beach. A beautiful beach with crystal clear water, accessible via the local bus. Catch the local ferry to Kamari Beach (reef shoes advised). 2. Imerovigli at sunset - a beautiful sunset and much less crowded than Oia 3. Akrotiri - also known as The Minoan Pompeii. This catastrophe occurred 1500 years before Pompeii. 4. Just gaze at the view of The Caldera. It’s magical. If you like my review, please “like” it so others can benefit. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Amazing experience with my wife, we enjoyed every bit of our stay - good hotel, food, stores, rentals etc. I plan a second trip 😊
Lars I — Google review
Honestly? It's the most overrated and overpriced place to go. Apart from lovely cliff towns of fira and oia, which are tiny, there's nothing there. The island itself is just rocky and ugly looking. With randomly allocated pallets and skips in various places over the island. There are no beaches near the towns, which is a compleate dissapointment. And the few beaches there are very small and not great. The transport is soo dear. Paid 15 euro for 2km and 85 for 12. Now that's a rip off There are no pedestrian foot paths anywhere apart from the very town centers. There are no bins. You will end up paying 16 euro for a pint of beer or a shot on conguac - that's too much for just a lovely view There are no all inclusive deals. They want you to pay for everything separately. Do yourself a favour and go to teneriffe for half the price. To enjoy entirely beautiful island with many interesting things to do and see.

Santo Wines is a renowned winery in Santorini, offering breathtaking views of the caldera and the Aegean Sea. The winery provides walking tours, wine tastings, and dining options with a terrace overlooking the stunning scenery. Visitors can book wine tours to explore the vineyards and learn about the unique winemaking process. Santo Wines is known for its picturesque terrace, making it an ideal spot to savor wine while admiring the mesmerizing sunset.
I visited the longed-for island of Santorini on a solo trip♪ I love wine, but I can't drink or eat much, so I'm very happy to have a set that you can enjoy even if you come alone! There was a wonderful waiter who made me think it was a DiCaprio, and it was linked to a great location, and I was able to enjoy it even by one person! If I had known more English, I would have been able to participate in the tour. Burgundy was good, but this was also good!

We did the full tour at Santos Wines, and it was packed with fascinating information about Santorini’s history and wine-making traditions. After the tour, we enjoyed a 6-glass wine tasting while taking in the most breathtaking views—an absolutely perfect setting to drink, relax, and soak in the beauty of the island. Highly recommend the experience!

I am glad we didn’t miss to enjoy the delicious meal with the amazing view at Santo Wine! If you go to Santorini don’t forget book the table. The wine tasting is also worth to experience, Mr.Niko gave us professional service during whole dinner, who was paying attention to all the detail!

I am so impressed with the tasting set. All high quality wine. The view is ridiculous great. Staff Chris is very professional. Come and support the union.

Wines are great, service is thoughtful. The views of Santorini are also amazing. We got the four wines with traditional product and the connoisseur came and explained each of the wines. The cheese, crackers, sauces were a bit underwhelming, but still tasty. We wanted to sit outside but the umbrellas were pretty loud and flapping with the wind. Overall a nice aside in our experience of Santorini!

The caldera view of Santorini from this winery is majestic. Great spot for sunset wine tasting. They give super large portions of small bites along with wine tasting. The gift shop here has a large variety of products at great prices too.

Beautiful winery! Great views overlooking the water. We sampled yummy wines and cheeses.

It had a very beautiful view. I went with my husband on our honey moon. They charge the view based on how many euros you are going to spend. My husband doesn’t drink, so I decided to try a wine tasting myself. I noticed that other couples received red blankets and we were the only couple who didn’t. My husband went out of his way to grab a sweater from our rental car. Overall, beautiful view. Yummy wines, and my husband loved his greek bagel with pastrami.

Greek restaurant
Penelope's Ouzeri in Pyrgos Santorini is a charming and traditional restaurant run by a Greek woman named Penelope. It's located in an idyllic spot, offering a cozy and homey atmosphere that makes you feel like you're dining in your grandmother's kitchen. The restaurant is known for serving delicious Greek cuisine, making it a favorite dining spot for many visitors.
A wonderful cafe/restaurant tucked away in the hills, just a quick walk from the main drag. We had breakfast here before leaving town and were so glad we did. The view was spectacular, and the breakfast was fresh and full of flavor. Get the pancakes-- they're worth it! 🙂 some of the tables are right on the walking path, which can be uncomfortable if a big tour group comes by, but that didn't bother us at all.
Dana C — Google review
Even if you just have a few hours, this is a must eat/drink treat. Penelope’s is “on the path” in the upper level of Pyrgos and is an amazing hidden gem. Salads are fresh from the garden and breathtakingly good. The staff and owners are amazing and you’ll feel you’re amongst friends the moment you sit down. This spot can’t be missed.
Jason B — Google review
What a gem! They have very few tables, so either reserve or arrive early. The waitress was such a nice and welcoming lady. The food was exquisite. We had the beetroot salad. It was so good, creamy, flavourful, and unique. We also had the grilled traditional sausages which were excellent. And then we had the beef ragu Giouvetsi. This dish was absolutely excellent. It was meat, and cheese, it was savory and simply perfect. I highly recommend. We ended the meal with the glyko koutaliou (sweet spoon). It was very good. The view is also very nice.

Love this place service is great! Wasn’t busy on a early afternoon, but it has become popular location through SoMe, so expect crowds. We went for cocktails, but the food looked great.

It’s Cousy restaurant just next to church. Very small but authentic Greek food. You can sit outside as well and enjoy sunset and also blue white buildings. Staff is amazing and service was great. We are vegetarian so we tried giant beans and bread and orange cake for dessert. Giant beans were delicious and Orange cake was epic.
Ujas P — Google review
I choose this restaurant because the view of church. Foods are delicious but quite small portion when compared to price. We ate Penalope salad and Greek meatballs that so good but we waited for these simple 2 dishes for 1 hour. The owner gave us free orange and banana cakes for long waiting.

We actually were just wandering around the labyrinth that is Pyrgos, and happened to walk past this great restaurant so decided to book a dinner here. We were not disappointed, had a terrific spot watching the sun go down, staff were so nice and helpful with making choices. Could have easily sat there all night drinking wine and snacking on meze.

Mediterranean restaurant
Cava Alta is a charming restaurant located in Pyrgos, Santorini, known for its delicious food and lovely views of the village. The restaurant is nestled in an old winery building with a small outdoor eating area and a stylish indoor dining space. It offers a modern Greek and Mediterranean menu. Visitors can enjoy magical Santorini sunsets from the rooftop, but it's recommended to book in advance for the best tables.
Amazing! Truely amazing restaurant. The food is outstanding. The way it is presented and how it is tasting is probably one of the best restaurants within the last ten years I have been. We were seating on top of the roof on a nice and cozy patio with stunning views. Servers were very attentive and friendly and drinks and food came promptly. Speaking of food : you have to experience it. Hard to describe such an experience. Pricing: it was one of the most economical places I have been. We paid a lot less compared to the nights before which totally surprised me. You get a great tast of the sun set as well. Now let me try to explain the wonderfulness with sharing my pictures. All dishes truly a 10 out of 10!!!

Just an amazing place. If you call to make a reservation and if you are lucky, you can enjoy your dinner at the rooftop and see the sunset. Beside that this restaurant is the best in Pyrgos! You will love everything you taste here. And do not go anywhere else for desert.

Cava Alta is such an amazing restaurant. The service and food are absolutely out of this world. The food is Michelin star worthy and the view at sunset is breathtaking to say the least. Super delicious! Would definitely recommend for a nice dining experience that isn’t too expensive. The view was amazing and the vibe was definitely there, with songs you know and overhead lights ✨ the food was amazing, especially the entrées. The bill ended up being around 200 for 6 people, which is super cheap considering we also got a bottle of wine, dessert and coffee. We also got free bread and a Greek liquor, as well as the same liquor mixed with cinnamon, apple and some other things for dessert. I would call and book in advance for the terrace to enjoy the sunset 🌅

Greek restaurant
Nestled at the highest point of Santorini, Pyrgos Restaurant offers breathtaking views of the island. This former capital is adorned with traditional houses surrounding a Venetian castle and winding alleys. The village features several churches, including the impressive Monastery of Profitis Ilias atop the mountain. Often overshadowed by Fira or Oia, Pyrgos is a must-visit for its traditional charm and stunning vistas.
Came here one evening for my friends birthday meal. The restaurant is lovely. A great view, and good value for money. The portions are very big and they also do house carafe wine. The staff were lovely, always walking around. Lovely restaurant highly recommend

What a lovely view all around. We were here mid-April, the garden area was not yet open, we sat in the restaurant with the large glass panels. We were the only customers - it was early in the evening and in the season. The server was warm and friendly. I ordered the fava appetizer and the Pyrgos salad. They were filling and a great start to our Greek vacation. This restaurant was also highly recommended for watching the fire spectacle on Good Friday.

Really lovely restaurant in an amazing location for sunset views. The whole side of the island looks amazing. The sea bream was delicious and reasonably priced. The chicken could have maybe done with some extras but on the whole was good. Service was quick, and the team really looked after customers.

Beautifully located restaurant with stunning views over Santorini. We had an event at the resturant so perhaps not the same experience as other diners. Wines list was good as was the food. The feta and honey was beautiful as was the Greek salad. I think this restaurant is more about the views.

Starting off with the view of the restaurant, it's truly unique and something to experience all on its own! The food is excellent, it was very filling and delicious, with generous portions for their price. Staff service is great. The waiters are polite, understanding, and knowledgeable, just as you'd expect from a fancy place like this. This would be an easy 5 stars if not for the connected club they have downstairs, vibrating the floor and making a lot of noise, especially when they open the door to it. If that's also something that bothers you, then my suggestion to avoiding it is to simply go eat there any time before 7:30pm.

To Psaraki is a charming restaurant located in the beautiful area of Vlychada, offering a traditional dining experience with delicious seafood and some meat options. The menu features a wide variety of appetizers with Greek and Mediterranean influences, showcasing simple yet high-quality dishes based on traditional Greek cuisine. Notable items include the fish soup and shrimp spaghetti made with fresh local ingredients.
Top 5 dinners of our whole Europe trip! We were recommended by a local and we were not disappointed! The food was so fresh and very generous portions, we we're absolutely stuffed after an entree and main each. The staff were fun and charming and had very good recommendations. We would come back again and again if we had time! Don't miss this spot!

Great food, fresh. I forgot to take pictures of food but this is picture of view and where we ate. They let you pick the fish you want to eat and let you know price so there is no surprises. The bread and home made tomato pure was great.

Hands down the best meal I had on my Greece holiday. Every dish was delicious, from the tomato salad to the cod fillet, rounded off with a heady glass of Vinsanto. Super fresh produce, simply dressed so that the quality shines through, and at such reasonable prices too! We had a table overlooking the marina - don’t expect fine dining, it’s pretty rustic and casual and by the roadside, but it’s the perfect setting for an easy holiday lunch. Would have gone back everyday if I could!

It’s rare that you get the combination of amazing food and amazing hospitality. Hands-down, the best seafood (Actually, any type of food!) we’ve had an all of Greece AND the best service! They will take you inside and show you the fresh fish that they caught that day and you can pick anything you want. And the fish is cooked to perfection. We had the day’s special (Red Tuna Skewer) and picked the fresh-caught Mediterranean Barracuda. even though that would have been more than enough to feed two people, my husband had to order more!!

Rosemary is a top dining spot in Pyrgos, Santorini, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces adorned with elegant decor. It provides stunning sunset views and a creative menu featuring the perfect blend of Santorinian ingredients for a delightful meal. Located in the former capital of Santorini, visitors can relish panoramic views of the pre-volcanic hinterland while enjoying their dining experience at Rosemary.
We’ve been here several times and they never disappoint. The food and service are consistently great. We had the pleasure recently to meet the local owner, celebrating his birthday with family at the restaurant which says a lot!! It’s just that kind of place. The rooftop venue has an amazing view of the area including Fira, Oia and of course the sunset! We loved our dinner in the secluded patio area (photos), just outside of where there is indoor seating for those colder nights, rare as they are. There’s a spot for every occasion. Recommend reservations as this place can fill up during the season but has good availability during the shoulder months. Staff recommendations were delicious, right down to the chocolate brownie with ice cream. You can’t miss this Pyrgos gem.

Honestly we expected more from this place. We had a reservation with the request of a view as we wanted to have dinner with the sunset, we arrive and we get a table with half view and another half is blocked and the waiter instead of being kind they were arguing with us that this is on of their best tables so we decided to let go as this was our last night in Santorini. The service is fast and the food was good but doesn’t worth the price in my opinion. I personally would not come here again.

We had an incredible experience on the balcony with an amazing view of the sunset! The dishes were all delicious especially the octopus and the local wine. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Truly recommended as an alternative to the most famous sunset view in Oia. A bit overpriced but great value for money!

We came for lunch, it’s a bit hidden in the city but really worth it. The view is beautiful and the restaurant also. The service was great and the food was delicious. Just a little bit disappointed of the portion, there was not much on our plate regarding the price of the meals but it was really good. We can see that most of the product are fresh.

Good ambiance and nice view! The price is a bit high. The baklava with ice cream is a must-have, it’s the best baklava we have ever had. ;-)

The Spot is great for sunset and different from what you can get from the coast. The Waitress was amazing, explaining us the traditions of the castle/area + definitely helping us with the right dishes and wine to pick. Food was great too.

This place is absolutely gorgeous, we came here on our last night in Santorini and it was all we could ask for. The waitress was outstanding. We were late-commers, the last ones there, but we felt so welcomed. The food was delicious, to the point we wanted to eat it slower just to enjoy it, the view, and the ambiance. I can't recommend this place enough.

The seafood here was great, terrific spot after you to Santo Wines. Our server was so kind and gave us recommendations of other things to do while on Santorini. This is a cute little spot you need to visit while on Santorini
