Steak house
Ruth's Chris Steak House is a renowned upscale steakhouse chain celebrated for its mouthwatering, sizzling steaks topped with rich butter, all served in an elegant atmosphere. With over 100 locations worldwide, it stands as the largest fine-dining steakhouse group globally. Diners can expect not only exceptional quality beef but also a delightful array of sides that enhance the overall dining experience.
I had a fantastic bday dinner at Ruth’s Chris! The service was excellent, and every dish we tried was delicious. My garlic crusted sea bass was out of this world, and I highly recommend starting with the crab cakes as an appetizer—they’re a must! They also have a great selection of wines and drinks. Before dinner, we stopped at the bar for their happy hour specials on selected drinks and enjoyed a cosmopolitan and margarita, both of which were great. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience!

Amazing! I'm not even a huge steak person and the petite filet here was so good. We also loved the bread super fresh. I got a pomegranate martini that was delicious. We got the mashed potatoes and broccoli as our sides to share. Everything was very fresh, tasty, and the servers were really well trained, attentive, friendly, and helpful. We had a great time here and the food was so good.

The steaks were some of the best I’ve had in my life… But for $462 including tip and tax for a family of five, I expect a world-class experience. We each had a single drink and only ordered two appetizers. Also, I found a hair on my plate of crab cakes that looked like a pubic hair. You can’t make that up. I handed the hair to a staff member discreetly so as not to ruin the meal for my family. The outdoor landscaping is beautiful. The waiters were very attentive. Ate here 8/7/2024.

Went for happy hour and what a pleasurable experience I had. Drinks and bites were ready within minutes. I had the burger with fries and is a hefty portion of meat well seasoned and cook on right temperature. The fries did not impress me but they were a 3.5 out of 5 for the fries. What made it great was Hector, the bartender/server. He was very attentive and was checking on you without being overwhelming. He gave suggestions and choices for drinks. My first time but it won’t be my last. See you soon Hector.

I am here on vacation for my honeymoon, and this place is easily the best food we've had on our trip. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and every drink and side was delicious. Our server was fantastic, and this will honestly be one of the highlights of my trip.

I recently visited this Ruth’s Chris location, and while the food was great as usual, my experience was overshadowed by an issue with my bill. The service was just okay, but what really shocked me was that my server added an unauthorized extra tip to my card. My original bill was $264.10, which already included a 20% service charge. I informed the server that I would be paying with Apple Pay, and he mentioned that the tip was included. I acknowledged this, as I had already noticed the service charge. However, when I tapped my card, I saw the total was $314.01—something I found odd, but I didn’t question it, assuming it was correct. When I reviewed the receipt back at my hotel, I realized that an additional tip of $49.91 had been added, raising my total from $264.10 to $314.01. My significant other called to address the issue, and Felix, who answered, recognized the mistake and refunded me $53.40. This situation made my experience very poor, as the unauthorized charge felt deceptive. Be cautious and check your receipts carefully if you decide to visit this location.

I’m sorry but this place is overrated. Food is good but very basic and you’re paying $180 for it. Maybe you’re paying for great customer service.

The food and service was exceptional! This was my first time visiting this establishment although I live close to several in the surrounding cities close to my home. Julio was very professional and offered great choices. I would come back as this was one of my favorite places to eat being in San Juan!

Our first restaurant in Puerto Rico Love Love Love this place ! We loved the experience! The Happy hour menu was 🔥!! Very affordable food and drinks. 8 minute walk from our hotel and the beach. The food was great and so was our service. Thank you Jose! The entertainment was so fun! He sang Midnight Train to GA for us( we're from GA).

*TOURISTS BEWARE* We went into this restaurant because when walking by we saw what looked like locals with a nice plate of food. Well, it wasn’t so great for us. We had questions for the waiter about the menu which indicates we aren’t familiar with Spanish food. Long story short we ordered the Paella Can Can which was supposed to have chicken, beef and pork; what we got was a very, very small amount of beef, some chicken and a few big blobs of pork FAT and a whole lot of salt. I asked the waiter “who is going to eat fat?” He literally started dancing over to the manager … I think it was what he does when he gets nervous bc he did it every time I questioned him; the manager apologized and brought us back some dried up shoe leather they considered pork; this is not what I saw on some of the Spanish speaking people’s plate. Needless to say we believe this is what they serve tourists they know are only showing up once. There were other unhygienic things that we observed the wait staff doing but we’ll leave it at this. Walk past this place and there are a lot of other places that you can eat at that will want to make you satisfied with your experience. BIG THUMBS DOWN AT Plato’s 😒👎🏼 Completely gross 🤢
Melissa L — Google review
Really good food and drinks. Their chicken soup was some of the best I’ve had, full of goodies. Also recommend their coconut sangria and margarita.
Scott H — Google review
I cannot say enough about this restaurant! The service was impeccable, Raymond was an amazing server, awesome personality and gave us ideas on where to experience other things in the area. The food was delicious and the coconut sangria is out of this world and you can take home a bottle! Ten out of ten what highly recommend stopping in!
Alexa T — Google review
Such a great Puerto Rican restaurant with a nice atmosphere, helpful staff, and great food. The mofongo was delicious, bartender Kyle recommended getting a mix of green and sweet plantains with the red sauce and it was amazing. The sangrias are delicious as well, I tried the coconut and champagne sangrias and both were delicious. I’ll definitely return when I come back to San Juan!

Staff was super friendly. The food wasn’t that great though it was presented well. The pork was very dry and mofongo tasted like it had been sitting out for some time. The risotto was good.

Platos is conveniently located just a short walk from the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, making it a great dining option for guests staying at the hotel. The restaurant is within walking distance, so you can easily enjoy a delicious seafood meal without needing to drive or take transportation. This cozy yet vibrant restaurant is known for offering fresh and flavorful seafood dishes, all crafted with local ingredients. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

The place was nice. Lots of dishes have sweet coconut flavors. I prefer savory and salty when it comes to protein. Also, and I know it's authentic, it was hard to find a dish that didn't involve plantains. I am just a gringo from the states so don't take my opinion as being that negative on their food. I'm new here. Fish tacos were good, my wife had them. I went with the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast which was good 4/5. The Platos' rice was gold as well.

Great food. I got an arancini as an appetizer and it came as 5 little ones, overall very good. I also got the branzino which was a large portion and delicious. For dessert I got the chocolate mousse which was an excellent end to my dinner. Also had a nice sauvignon blanc.

The view and location is amazing. The service is also pretty good. The food is average. Depend on the time of the day you can order wings coconut shrimp, burger or pizza for lunch and order some more fancy food like stake and branzino the following days. Pizza was 3/5 Burger was 2/5 not good at all wings 4/5

Our experience at this family-friendly restaurant was mixed, and the beautiful view was a definite highlight. The service, however, was quite slow and the servers we encountered had an unkind attitude, as we were served after tables seated after us. Despite this, I still left a 19% tip because I care for hospitality workers. On the positive side, the menu offered good seafood and international options. Our Cava wasn't initially at the right temperature, though they did rectify this with proper wine service and provided ice and water. The Paella for two was just okay; the rice was a bit overcooked and unfortunately lacked socarrat. The kids' chicken and fries were satisfactory.
Martha W — Google review
Robert was a great server! The ribeye was so good. As well as the asparagus. The flavors were on point. The chicken could have had a little more moisture. The veggies were good as well. Nice sized house salad with good dressing. Tuna tartare was pretty good. Overall a nice meal, but the view is where the money's at. Unbelievably beautiful.

Food, service and atmosphere were all top notch… we enjoyed our meal and view so much we’d go back in a minute. Definitely will return next time I’m in Puerto Rico.

This restaurant gets five stars across the board. The service here was exceptional and without fail. The food was delicious and amazing. Everything from the plating to the taste was over the top. All tables are oceanfront so the atmosphere here is elegant and romantic and was the most perfect honeymoon dinner setting. Would highly recommend. Everything was clean, the drinks were good, and it all just made for an amazing and unforgettable evening. Parking is in a garage next door to the Marriott and you have to pay by the hour. Recommend making reservations in advance.

My husband and I came down to the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Puerto Rico for our honeymoon, we went to visit BLT on Monday, August 7, 2017 the waitress we had was Rosie and she was magnificent. Rosie went above and beyond in serving us. Immediately after dinner we made reservations to come back Wednesday, August 9, 2017 and requested for Rosie to be our server again. Rosie always greet us with a pleasant smile and make sure that everything is OK. I will highly recommend anyone to go and visit BLT steak San Juan at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Puerto Rico. I think Rosie, her boss and the rest of the staff was showing us a pleasant visit at their restaurant. 5+ stars.

Best steak in San Juan, no question about it. Even though BLT is a chain, the steaks and starters here are on another level from the other chains in surrounding hotels (like Ruth's Chris, Miami Meat Market, etc). Little things that have big tastes like the complimentary duck liver patte and the famous BLT pop over go a long way to differentiate this steakhouse from its competitors. The bacon and tuna tartrate starters are consistently delicious and any steak you go with will be cooked perfectly per your request. Very friendly staff. Because the restaurant is in the Ritz Carlton, the clientele is mostly older and pretty quiet.

This place is amazing . It was my birthday and they brought 2 surprise deserts out for me . They also checked on me consistently throughout the night. The manager was so nice she always smiled at me and the host was so polite . They definitely have a place in my heart and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Churrasco (skirt steak) was of poor quality, asparagus were undercooked but charred (some). The bread was good, green mashed potatoes were ok... Chili's makes 'em better, and dessert was very good (cheesecake). Great ambiance, beautiful place but such a poor meal for the price, won't be coming back for a while.

Luxuriate in savory, buttery flavors: steak with herb butter, popovers with a delicious doughy exterior, chocolate chip bites that make you not care that you're biting into a stick of the finest churned goodness. It was worth every bite.
Tina W — Google review
Such slow service, and they keep the front doors open so it's freezing in here at night!! We've been waiting on our entree for over 30 minutes, but a couple who just sat at the bar 10 min ago already have their steaks. Management nightmare.

Vianda, located in Santurce, is a trendy restaurant founded by former NYC chef Francis Guzman and his wife, Amelia Dill. The stylish wood-paneled bar draws a diverse crowd of visitors and regulars for early evening cocktails. The farm-to-table menu showcases the island's culinary heritage with dishes like sourdough tostadas and raices locales. The restaurant's laid-back vibe features friendly service and minimalist decor with white walls and hanging plants.
One of the best meals we’ve had from a truly creative chef. Every dish was a surprise, so original, and perfectly executed. Service and atmosphere were fantastic. Would definitely return.

We are from NYC and have eaten at a lot of great places. We were excited to try this place as the chef worked at Blue Hill and the Modern in NY. We came in with high expectations and the restaurant didn’t disappoint. The Jalapeño mezcal popcorn butter drink was incredible. The process to prepare that drink takes 2 hours. The food was memorable with every dish with amazing presentation and taste to match. Gabrielle our host was so accommodating and full of energy. Will definitely come back!

Had a wonderful dinner here during our last night in San Juan. The food, the service, and the vibe was 10/10. Special shout out to the manager who took such good care of us. We were crunched for time and worried about making our flight. She was so professional, and understanding, and just made our whole experience worry free. All the dishes were amazing. But the Tostada and Bomba Alaska were particularly memorable. We will definitely be back our next trip!

I am unsure how to rate Vianda, because after 4 days in PR, I’m unsure whether I like Puerto Rican food in general. But for taste relative to price point, I would give it a 3.5/5. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy. The fresh bread rolls at the start of the meal were fantastic. The rest of the meal was “meh.” My partner and I tried rabbit empanadas, tuna crudo, octopus, bacalhao, and guava cheesecake. The presentation was so exciting. But it all felt sort of bland. I will say the octopus was perfectly cooked and tender, and I enjoyed the salad on top. I think if you’re someone who doesn’t like spicy flavors, and prefers something more mild, that you will probably love the meals here. It just wasnt for me.

Vianda is the type expensive restaurant that delivers on all fronts. The service was excellent, charming, and helpful. The restaurant looks sleek yet comfortable with great lighting. I was very skeptical based on the menu, but every dish tasted well-balanced and delicious. This was our “fancy” restaurant for a vacation, and I would absolutely come back.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in San Juan. Truly a fine dining experience paired with local food from PR. I am surprised every time we come because the menu is always changing based on what is fresh and in season. The staff is lovely and the cocktails are divine. I can’t say enough good things!!

Vianda in San Juan delivers an elevated dining experience with a creative and locally inspired menu. The dishes are beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared, highlighting fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Beet and Orange Salad – A refreshing start, with sweet beets, juicy orange segments, creamy yogurt, and a crunchy topping of pistachios. The fennel and dill add a bright, herbaceous touch. Empanada with Avocado Sauce – The empanada was crisp and golden, stuffed with a flavorful filling. The avocado sauce was smooth and well-seasoned, complemented by the fresh microgreens. Crispy Pork Belly with Fried Rice – Perfectly cooked pork belly with a crispy exterior and tender interior. The fried rice had great texture and was balanced with aromatic herbs and a hint of spice. Fried Bread with Onion Relish – A rich, comforting dish with crispy fried bread topped with sweet and savory onion relish. The contrasting textures made it a standout bite. The atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish, with attentive service and a well-curated wine list. Vianda strikes a perfect balance between creative cuisine and approachable comfort — definitely a must-visit spot in San Juan.

This was a gem of a find in Puerto Rico. We were in a time crunch to make our red eye flight and the manager was nothing but accommodating , efficient, and friendly. The food was brilliant (I’ve long been a fan of blue hill and didn’t realize the owners association). I’ve lived in nyc 25 years and I thought the food was on par with some of the nyc great dining restaurants. And the baked Alaska is sent straight from the dessert gods right to you (if you order it) at this lovely restaurant in PR. I will be back.
