Petite France is a charming French-inspired village in Korea, featuring over 16 traditional buildings and serving as both a cultural village and youth training facility. It has been featured in popular Korean dramas and variety shows, making it a must-visit for fans of K-dramas. The village pays tribute to the author of "Le Petit Prince" with a dedicated memorial hall.
A great place for taking pictures, going with child, family outing, walking with a cup of coffee, its great to visit during spring but you can go any other time as well. I recommend you to have time there and not missing any building. You may find some place where they have some kind of show for a short time dont miss that. Worthy visit.

Overall, it's OK. There is not much which was interesting to us, but it was a welcomed change of scenery.
The park has the French village (this one) and the Italian village, which I did not visit.
I think it's not worth the visit unless you're in the area or going to pair it up with Nami Island.

One of my seoul trip bucketlist. A must visit place to experience little france in the middle of south korea
Saranghae C — Google review
Not really much to do on this theme park unless you really are fascinated with the French-designed attractions. There's lots of rooms with Pinocchio and Little Prince figures and artworks. Nevertheless, it's still a good place to take photos as a tourist visiting Korea. There are clean rest rooms, vendo machines for drinks, and a cafe to get a coffee and some pastries. Also, there are some K-drama scenes that are filmed here. A 1-hour stay is enough to explore this place.

Aqida S — Google review
It's the best South Korea premium outlet featuring 100+ brands. Most of them are international ones that you could find your time spending here is not enough!
In winter, it is good to come to buy thick clothes and jackets.
This is our 4th time here, and we shall be here often.

Yeoju Premium Outlets is one of South Korea’s top outlet malls, located about an hour from Seoul. With over 270 stores, it offers luxury brands like Gucci, Burberry, Prada, and Moncler, along with great discounts on fashion, sports, and lifestyle items.
The open-air, European-inspired layout makes for a pleasant stroll, and I really liked the art installations and sculptures scattered around. There are also a few Starbucks locations on-site, perfect for resting and recharging between shopping sprees, along with other cafes and dining spots.
Getting There: Direct shuttle buses from Seoul (Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, Jamsil area) make it easy and convenient to visit.
Pro Tip: Visit on a weekday for fewer crowds. If you’re looking for premium shopping, relaxing spaces, and good deals, this outlet is worth the trip!
C — Google review
A lovely outdoor premium outlet area with various big brands lined up. Has a well designed food hall with various cuisines. Spacious and calm. Lots of parking. Takes about 1.5 hours to drive from Seoul. Do research on the shops available before coming.
Xian L — Google review
Good place for weekend family life. It is far from Seoul but there is shuttle bus from bus terminal. If you have a weekend, I will recommend here.

Every major international shops are here! Place is titanic!! A good way to spend the day with family. Food court offers all kinds of food.
Prices are fair, much economical than other department stores.
Sarang K — Google review
Just 1 hour and 30 minutes from Seoul by direct express bus.
What D — Google review
Guideline to purchase the express bus tickets to get here.
Buy tickets at express bus terminal. There is no counter service. So have to purchase from the machines. Therefore, no one can advise you what to do. But after you figure it out, it's very straightforward.
Alternatively, purchase online as per the QR code image that i had attached in. The bus depart at every 1hour. And it takes 1hr 10mins. Then wait at platform 29 for the bus and scan QR codes to get up.
I didnt buy my return tickets online. I purchased my return tickets together at the bus terminal. But there is a machine here(at premium outlet) or use QR code to buy return tickets. Tickets wont be available, prior 1 hour before departures time. And you can choose where you prefer to sit. One way tickets is 6,400won. Pick up is the same as where the bus drop off.
Personally, i like this premium outlet. It has lululemon as compared with other outlet malls. But discount isn't fantastic to be honest.
You can refer to website to find out your preferred stores. Avoid weekends. Cos a lot of locals shop here and you dont see a lot of foreigners. There is a food court here, with a good selection of food.
This place is huge! With east wing and west wing. There is a map but only in Korean.
I will definitely return here again.

Beautiful area with a lovely cafes on the grounds. Amazingly manicured garden with lots of flowers and trees. A stream also runs through it. The time we visited was just before everything was about to bloom and it was still stunning. There is a great gift store here with natural products.

Beautiful place, must visit!!
Came on end May, so it’s considered summer already. Reached around 9am so it was quite peaceful and not a lot of people. Crowd starts coming in around 10am.
Not a crazy lot of flowers, but a lot of different trees in different colors. All the flowers and trees are so vibrant!
View from the cafe is straight out of a painting! But the price of the drinks and cakes are on the pricier end—around 7,000₩~8,000₩.
Spent around 2-3 hours here.
Hc N — Google review
Absolutely stunning! A heavenly place! Kudos to all the gardeners here🫡 you guys are doing a wonderful job! The weather was great too here in May.
MiaY L — Google review
It’s beautiful for what it is, a garden of calm. We went on a tour inbetween seasons and there were no flowers, so it was a quick visit. It was a calm place though, nice trees in parts, amazing images in their gallery and so many great products in their store that we wish were available online from Australia.
It would be nice given the paid entry if there was something to see between seasons though.
Jason T — Google review
I visited during the off season—March, so kind of in between winter and spring—but it was still so beautiful and peaceful, just like its name suggests! I can only imagine how magical it must be during full bloom, in winter with all the lights, or in the fall with those colors. 🤗
Niki S — Google review
Very picturesque garden that blossoms during spring and I imagine it would be beautiful in autumn with shades of red, orange, yellow and brown.
We came during spring where the cherry blossoms were in bloom and so so beautiful without the crazy queues that you would see in Japan. The bonsai garden is also super cute!
Can buy tickets at the gate but we did it via a tour on Klook which also visited Nami island (perfect for couples) and the Gangwon Rail Bike.
Jeremy W — Google review
Overall experience is breathless... But we come in fall season so the flowers not all bloomed. Vending machine are working but empty, all drink stock is gone. Better keep restocked because not all visitors bring own water.
Yusuf H — Google review
Came in early spring. Stunning. 11k won per adult, wheelchairs and buggies can be rented for 1-2k won.You can book your ticket in advance on Naver (and then just walk straight to the entry gate with your barcode). If you don't book in advance, you can either buy from the machine or the manned booth - same price but there was a small queue. Parking is free, but a queue of cars starts to form from 10am. When we left at 1pm on a Sunday, the queue was 1km long. Note that the park opens at 0830, but coffee shops only open from 10am. Museum and galleries also nice. Well maintained. Would recommend.

Pocheon Art Valley is a captivating park-like destination nestled in a former granite quarry, where art and nature beautifully intertwine. Visitors can explore an array of outdoor sculptures, enjoy the serene lake views, and take in performances at the concert stage. The picturesque surroundings make it an ideal spot for couples or families looking to unwind together. A highlight is the monorail ride that offers stunning vistas without the need to tackle steep hills—definitely worth considering for a round-trip ticket!
I went here on 28th December. Because of the weather is not that cold so the view did not look the same as the internet. But if you like hiking or just walking, it's nice
Nguyễn T — Google review
It’s amazing view. The water from the bottom of the valley. Beautiful. You better buy a monorail ticket at least going up. Good place for kids.

This is a nice picturesque place located in the countryside of Seoul. We can reach here by monorail which departs in every 15 mins. It has stunning natural views. Some of the Korean drama took place here.
Sanchita J — Google review
Was quite disappointed with it. Apart from this valley that many Korean drama took place, overall just like any park. And the ugliest are all the status that looks not so artistically blend. Different perception of what is called arts.
Took the monorail to go up the hill. The experience wasn’t that fantastic. Firstly the Korean aunties were just too noisy in the capsule. Secondly, the capsule windows was darkened don’t have the natural sunlight so it defeat the purpose of viewing outside view nicely.
Overall, one time experience is enough.
JooZoo W — Google review
Nestled in the picturesque Seoul countryside, this is a lovely destination worth visiting. The tickets are reasonably priced, making it an accessible outing. One important consideration is the frequent monorail service - departing every 15 minutes. However, the monorail can become quite crowded during peak hours when group tours are prevalent. To ensure an enjoyable experience, I recommend planning your visit strategically and arriving early to avoid the busiest times on the monorail.
Divine F — Google review
A quarry with some nice art, not sure if it is a must-see attraction, especially if you are visiting for a short time in south korea. If you go, definitely go at night, during the weekend and in the Fall. A lot of the attractions are not open during week or during day. The views of the moutains in the Fall would be so beautiful!
Lottie G — Google review
Very amazing place. Be awake you have to walk mountain veeeeery much but its really worth it the view is amazing if the fine dust is not too much also the water and the rocks are so amazing. You should not be scared of heights if you wanna go that stairs of the picture or you need to look at the handrail like me 😅

Excellent place to spend time with your friends and family. Offers a variety of activities at a pocket friendly prices. Monorail is an unique experience. Sanmaru Concert Hall will give you a glimpse of Korean Culture as well. There's an Astronomical observatory for kids. Sculpture park with nearly 30 sculptures made of granites are on display. Pocheon Herb Island is a whimsical park with various themed attractions, cafes, and a souvenir shop. It's an ideal summer destination, especially when combined with a visit to Dumulmeori Lake. The park features a large shop offering plant-based items like skincare products, tea, and candles. Visitors can also enjoy a foot spa area and stunning light displays at night. This unique and beautifully detailed location offers a refreshing break from busier tourist spots.
There's more than 250 herbs here. It's also an amusement Park and place where there's lavendar, edibility garden, shops, rides and lots of pink things. Very picturesque
Sunni W — Google review
The worst place I have been in Korea.
The place is very poorly maintained. Although there are many theme areas. But really poor maintained and is so rundown.
There is only one restaurant. I ordered the beef rib soup. The worst I ever have. Cold, 2big ribs with not much meat. Cost 17,000. I think I prefer to eat back in Seoul! And self-service
There are a few cafes. Maybe it will be better to have some like grab in the cafes or if you wanna be there, eat before you go.
The only place that was full of humans, was the pink theme pink mully grass with an artificially colored shocking pink sand slope.
Anyway, the ticket and all the pay pay pay inside this area, simply not worth it. But because you want to post on social media coz’ of the shocking pink zone, Maybe…
The management of this place should rethink how they should manage this place properly.
JooZoo W — Google review
We joined a tour, and one of the destinations was Herb Island. It's a really big place, it has a shop that has mostly plant based items. Such as skin care, tea, candles, etc. They also have a foot spa area. The interior of the shop is very beautiful as well as the front entrance. The staff were really friendly and hospitable.
At night, the whole place lights up, and it's beautiful. Instead of me telling more spoilers, go visit yourselves! Worth it!

I visited here on a day that was it virtually empty and had one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had. This was a beautifully detailed, cute little place that was a spectacle to view and a breath of fresh air from some of the other busier tourist locations. If you want to get out of the city and take some gorgeous photos and view pretty light displays, visit here. The entry is ridiculously cheap and worth it.

Pocheon Herb Island is a large herb garden. There are many zones inside, like Herb Museum, Herb Garden, Herb bakery (this is special), International Village, Traditional Market, aroma therapy centre, herbs related souvenir shops. It's better to visit in the evening as it'll be lit up with light all around. It's a bit difficult to reach this place as the frequency of public transport is very less. Try to avoid winter ad it'll be really cold. It's a great one time trip for good photos. It's good for couples and kids. It can be considered as a romantic getaway. It's also good for people who love botany, arts and crafts.

Semiwon Garden is a specialized botanical garden that features lotus flowers, offering visitors the chance to stroll along various walking paths and explore its museum. During the summer season, this garden offers a spectacular view of blooming Lotus flowers that create beautiful scenery. In addition to viewing these stunning blooms, visitors can also enjoy playing traditional Korean games on-site.
We visited this garden in September when the weather was still hot and humid. The garden is beautiful with lots of planned sections with interesting traditional architecture. It was relaxing to stroll around checking out different plants and a few resting areas with shade and photo opportunities. My favorite area was the fountain made with the traditional Korean Jangdokdae (where they typically store condiments / food in the cold weather such as Kimchi, fermented red pepper paste and fermented bean paste for months). This garden/museum, features lotus flowers, but because of the time we were there, we didn’t get to see them. But it was still worth visiting and very beautiful.

I went for Lotus Pond with Flowers but end June, no lotus, or barely
Gia T — Google review
Semiwon Garden was lovely. We went at the end of September, this is not the best season. Lotus blossoms are out at the end of July and August. There were lots of massive leaves and seed pods. The views were still incredible and worth the entrance fee (5,000₩).
Besides the Lotus ponds, there are other aquatic plants to view such as lily pads and reeds. A hanok style building is in the park. As you walk around the peninsula, you will find a floating bridge that will take you to the islet beside the garden. Make sure you keep your ticket to get back across. On the island, you can view the two rivers merging as one. In addition, they have a greenhouse that houses several types of water lillies.
Outside there is a Lotus Museum, which we didn't go to because of time. The building was beautifully designed. There's also a place that sells Lotus bread/cookies. There are 3 different types. I didn't realize how popular they were and waited to buy after we got out. They were sold out when we went in. Thankfully they had 9 left of their original so I grabbed those up and bought some Lotus tea and postcards.

Beautiful scenery, although it would have been better if we visited a few weeks earlier when the lotus flowers were still in bloom.

Dumulmeori is a picturesque area located at the meeting point of two rivers, offering a peaceful and beautiful park for outdoor leisure and nature photography. It is known as a filming location and features stunning lotus ponds, especially during the fall when the surrounding mountains are adorned with colorful foliage. The park has restaurants, snack carts, and a famous hotdog on a stick shop.
Beautiful, peaceful park located where two rivers meet which is why it's called dumul(2 waters). The park is free but you do need to pay parking(less than $3), has restauarants and snack carts, and is home to a famous hotdog on a stick shop(there's usually a line). It also has a huge beautiful lotus pond. We went in the fall and was treated to beauty fall foliage views of the surrounding mountains. Definately recommend this place when you are in Seoul.

Yongin Dae Jang Geum Park is a renowned tourist destination in Korea that features outdoor film sets exhibiting buildings from the Samguk, Goryeo, and Joseon periods. It is known as the largest historical drama open set in Korea and offers visitors a chance to experience popular K-pop dances and choreography through its K-pop Dance Studio Class. This place is loved by those who have an interest in Korean history and drama.
This is a historical K-Drama and BTS fan's dream, or if you just like to visit sets. Booked this as part of the BTS ARMY tour to see where Yoongi (Agust D, Suga) filmed the MV for 'Daechwita.' Though I don't really watch sageuk shows, I am familiar with "Moon Embracing the Sun", which was filmed there. We had visited a palace the day before, so it was wild to see some of the exact type buildings used here. They did a great job in reproducing the buildings. And as we toured, we realized the 1 show we had seen, which ws historical had parts filmed here. It's owned by the channel MBC, who rents it out to others to film there. And of course, it was amazing to see where Yoongi filmed his MV - being the "king" and "boss" that he is.
It's about 1.5-2 hrs outside of Seoul depending on traffic, so I think a tour is best. But if you're doing road trips, then once you get out of the city, it would be a nice drive. If you do the little tour where they drive you around on the cart, you'll be able to see the underground jail area, which we got to see. They still actively film here, but we're not filming this day. So if they are, areas could be closed off, but you might get to see areas like the marketplace set up for filming with goods and props, which would be neat.

Tricky to get here BUT not impossible. Take bus from Namby bus from Seoul for ₩5,600 then take a bus or a taxi ( taxi stop next to stop) . The location is breathtaking. The place has 2 cities: one town , other is a palace. You can take aa many pictures as you like. I was about 2.5 hrs here. There is a small cafe, and water/juice machines. Watch the weather. Make sure is sunny and if you can: come in Hanbok.

One of the most amazing places I have been. When visiting I just love to spend the whole day here walking and looking around.
For someone who loves korean drama and history I really recommend visiting this place, it's a bit far from Seoul but so worth it.

Its pretty far from Seoul, but the way to the destination itself is a good experience. The place itself is beautiful, it reminds me of good old day with Dae Jang Geum drama. And of course as a BTS Army, I came here to visit Daechwita shooting scene. The Park is so clean and refreshing. Such a pretty place.

Sangdang Sanseong Fortress is an ancient compound nestled in the mountainous landscape, featuring stunning gardens, a serene lake and fortified walls that offer panoramic views of the city. This architectural marvel can be reached by embarking on an enjoyable 3.4 km hike from Cheongjuland that takes around 30-40 minutes to complete. While the initial kilometer of the trek may be relatively steep, it eventually leads to a normal walking path spanning 2-3 km.
It's a nice scenic hike. Nothing spectacular, but nice enough to see the view of the city. It took roughly an hour to go around depending on how many stops you make. Definitely wear runners and active wear as I did not do that. Make sure to stay away during the rainy season as it can get dangerous.

The parking lot is not that big but this place is big for every one to sit on the mat enjoying the day. Some ppl even bring tent. Maybe it is forbiden here to cook here but you can just bring food and eat it here. As you can see from the picture, fall folliage is so pretty. It is red on the one side and yellow on the other side. Although the gingko leaves are 50%left, some trees even left 10~20% leaves only. Autumn is really perfect time to have a picnic.

Caribbean Bay is a water park located outside of Seoul, South Korea. It offers both indoor and outdoor attractions including a wave pool, lazy river, kids' play area and thrilling water slides. The giant wave pool is particularly impressive but some rides may be too scary for younger children. During peak times it can get crowded so arriving early in the morning is recommended. While summer is the best time to visit, there are also plenty of indoor activities available during winter season.
Caribbean Bay is a great place to swim. In winter most of the rides close, but there are many spas. The wave pool is exciting. The pools are large and have their own features. The visit was pleasant.

I liked this place very much except few things, half of the facilities/ride/pool was close that day when we go there.. Me & my friends could enjoy only 3/4 ride all day.
If they keep open everything ..... Its one of the best in korea for sure.

I went to Caribbean Bay in advance, which will be hot in summer.
I got a discount on the application and used it for 25,000 won per person.
It was also very spacious, so it was good to play in the water.
The wave grass was fun, and I enjoyed riding various rides. It was good because the line for the ride was not long because it was a success of the timing game. My feet hurt too much to just walk around, so make sure to bring your aqua shoes in advance, and if you're going to take a lot of cell phone shots, make sure to bring a cell phone waterproof pack.
They sell it, but it's too expensive because it's 20,000 won each.

Not bad ~~ if you love water parks it’s nice! There’s lots of fun rides and different kinds of activities to do! They have some performances on Sunday! The lines are a little long but it’s very organized! I do have to say there’s not a lot of places to sit down so it could be uncomfortable if you don’t buy a chair ~~ anyway have fun when you go there ^^

It was fun. The rides are very fun, but the lines are tiring. If you go there, it's better to go around 9am when it opens.

A great water park. Rides seem old and not kept up well. But it has a lot to offer.
It does get very crowded.
I wish they would let me swim without a life jacket.
Scott H — Google review
Make sure you get the Q-Pass or Fast Past tickets in the park, it’s worth it, and saves an extraordinary amount of time instead of waiting in line 50-120 minutes. The only delay would be the time it takes to walk up the stairs to get to the entrance of the ride.
Christian P — Google review
Spent most of the day at Caribbean Bay. It was amazing! Find the spas, they were so relaxing I didn't even get pictures. The wait for rides was too long, but that's to be expected, just hop in the river. We waited until about 7:30p to get on rides so the wait was 30mins or less. Spent the majority of the time in the wave pool, wild River and spas. The food was better at Everland, the churros and burgers were stale in the water park, be advised. Overall, 10/10 would definitely recommend. Check it out. I went with a group and paid 55,000 won to go to both parks.

Changdeokgung Palace, a stunning remnant of the Joseon dynasty, invites visitors to explore its rich history and beautiful gardens. As the second oldest of Seoul's five grand palaces, it served as the main royal residence from 1592 until 1868. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its well-preserved structures dating back to the 1600s-1800s, offering a glimpse into Korea's architectural heritage before modern reconstructions took over.
This place is amazing at first. When i got there, they were closed, and i saw i line of people waiting to get in to buy tickets.
The ticket cost:
General ticket:
The whole palace ( minus the secret garden)
3000 Won
This is what i bought as the guided tour was after 1 and a half hours, which i didn't want to wait.
Secret garden tickets: 5000 won
if you want to take both its total 8000 won, you can not go alone in the secret garden has to be with a tour guide as they only allow specific amounts of people to go inside with a guide at a time.
well I took the general ticket for 3000 won and you can see my pictures it was great so even if you buy the general tickets tour good!!!
ITS A MUST VISIT!

A lovely spot if you enjoy nature and historical settings—great for a calm walk. The Secret Garden tour is worth it, but make sure to book in advance (slots open about 4–5 days ahead), and the tour lasts around an hour. Some of the entrance staff weren’t very helpful and came off as a bit rude, which took away from the overall experience.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place.
Changdeokgung is definitely one of the prettiest spots I visited in Seoul. The palace buildings and colors are stunning, and the whole place has a really calm vibe — not too crowded, which I appreciated.
I wanted to visit the Secret Garden but it was already sold out when I arrived around 1 PM, so if you’re planning to go, try to get there earlier! Still, walking around the main palace grounds was super nice and totally worth it.
Great spot if you enjoy a bit of history and just want to stroll around somewhere quiet and beautiful.
Nestled in the heart of Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village is a captivating destination that transports visitors back to the 14th century. This charming village features narrow streets adorned with beautifully restored traditional Korean homes, offering a unique glimpse into the country's rich architectural heritage. As you wander through its labyrinthine alleys, you'll discover not only stunning views but also an array of cultural experiences nearby.
The area is as you would imagine, what really elevates it is the peaceful nature and respect visiting people have for it by being quiet and keeping the area clean.
It is lovely to see the hanoks being maintained beautifully and the views over some of the city are worth a visit.
Please note that on Sundays some of the alley ways close to allow a break from tourist traffic.

Insadong is a vibrant hub in Seoul, renowned for its pedestrian-friendly main street bustling with traditional teahouses and Korean restaurants. Here, visitors can explore an array of shops offering unique items like pottery, tea, and handmade hanji paper. Embark on a skincare shopping spree at the bustling Myeondong Shopping Street, a popular tourist destination in Seoul. Myeongdong Street is one of the liveliest places in Seoul! The energy here is incredible, with endless shops, cafes, and street food vendors lining the streets. It's a paradise for foodies and shoppers alike.
However, a word of caution: some shops can overcharge foreigners, often doubling the price. Be sure to compare prices and stay alert to avoid being scammed. Despite that, Myeongdong is still an exciting place to explore, especially for the food and the vibrant atmosphere.

You can embark on a delightful walking tour that starts at Gyeongbokgung, meandering through the charming alleys of Bukchon Hanok Village filled with picturesque old homes before reaching Changdeokgung.
A main tourist attraction in the heart of the city. I was initially skeptical, but completely blown away by its beauty. The structures and layout showcase Korean culture at its finest—an elegant harmony of tradition and design. The subtle beauty of the place is truly beyond measure.
N Seoul Tower, a landmark that has graced the skyline since 1980, is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Seoul. This iconic structure not only boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the city but also features a revolving restaurant that enhances your dining experience with stunning scenery. Known for its romantic ambiance, N Seoul Tower attracts couples and friends alike who come to attach love locks as symbols of their everlasting bonds—much like the famous Pont Neuf in Paris.
I traveled to Korea this past March, and visiting Namsan Seoul Tower was such a memorable experience. The tower itself was breathtaking, standing tall above the city. Although the yellow dust from China made it hard to see the distant scenery clearly, there was still something magical about the atmosphere.
But what truly stole my heart was the night view of Seoul—it was absolutely mesmerizing.
If you ever get the chance, don’t miss this place. It’s not just beautiful—it’s unforgettable.

hiked for about 40 minutes from the base to N Seoul Tower, and it was an easy walk with toilets and a café along the way. At the top, the tower area is bustling with shops, eateries, and cafés. The views were absolutely stunning and well worth the hike.
There was also a wine fair being set up, which added to the lively atmosphere. I enjoyed a coffee while taking in the scenery.
It does get quite crowded with tourists, but there’s also an option to take a bus up for those who prefer a more relaxed journey.

But the real highlight for me personally is the panoramic view from the tower that overlooks the entire city of Seoul, it's nothing short of breathtaking, especially when the sky is clear. A perfect blend of nature, culture, and city vibes in one iconic spot.

Korean Folk Village is a living museum that offers a glimpse into traditional Korean homes and customs, along with dining options and a theme park. It features various attractions, including Everland, one of South Korea's largest theme parks. The village replicates life during the Joseon Dynasty period and provides opportunities to learn about and experience Korea's traditional culture. Visitors can enjoy traditional performances, comedic courtyard plays, LED shows, and encounters with Joseon-era ghosts.
My wife and I visited on a Tuesday early afternoon, 6/10/2025, as part of a day tour package. This park had many recreations of buildings and tools of Korean life from many years ago. The parking lot was no more than a third full, so many food and souvenir shops were not open throughout the park. That was fine for us, because the best parts of the park, the scenery, the traditional buildings and gardens, were not crowded and allowed us to stroll and take many photos and selfies with almost no one around. The best part of our visit was the live traditional dance performance at 4 pm. There were many live performances scheduled throughout the day at several areas of the park, but we could only see the 4 pm show because of our limited time with the tour.

It's a good place to add into your iterinary if you want to rent a Hanbok and experience traditional Korean Village minus the crowd that can be expected at palaces like Gyeongbokung/ villages like Bunchok Hanok Village.
They also have Korean cultural performances timed throughout the day to keep you busy and enticed. However, the place looked like it wasn't completely open for business when I went, since most shops meant to be selling food and drinks and souvenirs, etc, were closed. The adventure park section also only had 2 to 3 rides operating with all surrounding ( very cute and nicely done, may I add ) shops closed. Maybe we picked a wrong day to go? To be fair, it was midweek and not the weekend. I am sure their weekend footfall could be a totally different story. I enjoyed my photo sess 🤣 & plus points for the staff at entry / exit who were very helpful in helping us navigate our way back from there to Euljiro too.

Probably a good place for family and students..
And maybe I have seen other similar "exhibits", so nothing exciting anymore with this hybrid place that combines nature, history and fun fair.
Places were crowded mostly with students from at least 30 buses so my experience was really unpleasant with the crowd despite going on weekdays. In addition, the rain make things worst and whole place are just muddy.. shoes are dirtied but there is a cleaner outside the entrance to get rid of the soil.
Overall, OK but not too recommended if you have other alternative to visit.

This is a theme park of Korea during the Joseon dynasty. Mostly it’s old style houses from different regions and social classes, very interesting if you are into that sort of thing. There are some music or dance shows throughout the day, I would highly recommend to see them. There is also a mini world museum with photos and artifacts from all over the world. There is an also a carnival part with attractions for kids, a museum of Korea, a few restaurants, shops and some activities to do like horse riding or archery. A lot of things are closed during the weekdays tho, like the horror experience house. I would say it’s a nice experience if you have some extra days in Seoul and you really want to learn more about the history of the country. My only suggestion would be to add more activities for adults, there are some things to do but it felt like half were designed for kids. For a better reference I would suggest to look at Edo World close to Tokyo in Japan.

Cheonggyecheon is a revitalized stream in Seoul, offering a recreational area with landscaped walkways, footbridges, and greenery. The stream features 22 bridges and public artworks like the Spring in Cheong-gye Plaza. It's a popular spot for locals to escape the urban hustle and bustle, with people enjoying leisurely strolls or dipping their feet in the water during summer.
By all accounts, this is a very cool place in Seoul. You can walk through 8km if I am not mistaken alongside this stream that has been renovated to have walkable banks and that is entrenched between two of the city's main and busiest avenues. The water is clean and you can see, fish, ducks and even cranes along the walk. It is an oasis of calm in a busy and vibrant city.

Walkable water stream in downtown Seoul. One of the best modern marvels of Seoul.
It used to be a highway for cars and trucks, but it was reconstructed to form a water stream which flows from west to east and is a spectacle to behold during festivals.
Seoul Lantern Festival happens in there a couple of times a year, and it looks really pretty. The stream is very walkable with pavements on both sides, and has cycle tracks on the topside as well.
It's a great place to be around in general.

The popularity of this place among the Koreans is the great testament for the successful restoration project. There is waterfall, murals, benches, plenty of trees and even an open library during weekends, making this an excellent place to chill and relax. The stepping stones for crossing the stream making it fun for the family. Despite its popularity, there's not much noise. although occasionally there may be some people busking here, the overall environment just feels calm and peaceful. Established in 1994 at the former army headquarters, it serves as a monument to the sacrifices made by soldiers during the Korean War and aims to prevent future conflicts by learning from this dark chapter in history.

Very impressive, especially considering the access is free. If your country also participated in the U.N. forces in the Korean War, there’s a section contributed to those countries, with videos in each country’s languages. Fun to watch. Totally recommended when you visit Seoul.

Amazing museum, and a must visit site! To be clear, this is a museum of "Korean wars" and well beyond just a Korean War museum. I was truly impressed by the breadth and depth of socio-political background information and military history. Great facility, military equipment, memorials, picture sites and exhibits.

🍁Suwon Fortress 수원화성 (水原華城) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
🍂A beautiful historic fortress within Suwon, the provincial capital of Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
🍁Had an amazing walk along the ancient fortress wall.
🍂The entire area is expansive.
🍁Only managed to cover Janganmun Gate 장안문 (長安門), Bukporo 북포루(北鋪樓) and the huge Haenggung (行宫) palace ground.
☕🍮Plenty of coffee cafe dotes around the Suwon Fortress vicinity.
☕Coffee culture in South Korea is very vibrant.

Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is situated near Suwon, South Korea. Constructed between 1794 and 1796 under the direction of King Jeongjo of the Joseon dynasty, it served as a fortification encompassing Suwon's historic city center.
King Jeongjo's relocation of Crown Prince Sado's tomb from Seoul to Suwon in 1789 necessitated the construction of a new city to accommodate displaced residents. The king commissioned scholars and engineers to design a secure, convenient, and prosperous urban center. This undertaking included the construction of a robust fortification, Hwaseong Fortress, a masterpiece of Joseon Dynasty architecture. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1997, Hwaseong Fortress attracts numerous tourists annually.
Hwaseong Fortress boasts numerous palaces, a perimeter wall, four main gates, a central waterway, and extensive additional features. Access is available at any time. The area features highly-rated cafes and restaurants offering premium food and beverages. It also serves as a filming location for numerous Korean dramas. Visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms along the perimeter wall, and nearby activities include hot air balloon rides, archery, and traditional cultural experiences. For those exploring South Korea, Hwaseong Fortress is a must-see destination. Convenient access from Seoul is provided via the Seoul Metropolitan Subway or express subway from Seoul Station to Suwon Station, followed by a local bus to Hwaseong Fortress.

Incredible, must-visit attraction for anyone visiting South Korea. Free as well. We walked 4 miles along the fortress wall and got some amazing views of the city along the way. I highly recommend hitting the highest peak of the trail for the best view Suwon has to offer.

Beautiful historical site with a lovely view of the nearby city. Great for a peaceful walk and surrounded by nice landscapes—especially stunning in spring with cherry blossoms. If you have time, visit the city next door to soak in the local vibes!

Magnificent and impressive fortress, with beautiful surroundings and views of the city, specially if you go up the hill. A palace and monuments nearby. good for a peaceful stroll involving the fortress wall.and nature.
Bruno B — Google review
The circumference of the fortress is huge. I underestimate, after spending more than 3 hours walking along the fortess wall, I probably cover only about 40%. So, do give yourself more time!
Along the way, there are resting areas where, once upon a time, soldiers used to rest. Information is given to individuals' fortification along the wall. Within the fortress wall, there are houses and shops.

Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, situated within a fortress in Suwon, is a meticulously restored palace dating back to 1789. The palace complex includes a visitor center, theater, and exhibition hall. It served as the temporary residence of the king and hosts various cultural experiences and activities. Visitors can enjoy the serene village scenery inside the city walls and witness a stunning night view. Nearby attractions include Suwon Chicken Street and Blood Soup Street for those looking to explore local cuisine.
I recently visited Hwaseong Haenggung on June 1, 2025, and was captivated by its blend of history, architecture, and serene surroundings.
As soon as I entered, I was struck by the beautifully preserved fortress walls and regal palace buildings nestled within.
Walking through the ornate throne hall and secret corridors, I could almost feel echoes of the past.
The landscaped gardens and seasonal flowers added a peaceful charm.
It’s a must-visit spot for history buffs and anyone seeking a tranquil cultural escape in Suwon!

This is the typical Korean Palace in terms of structure, layout, and decor. I don't find it particularly elaborate or lavishly decorated. Still, it is pretty to visit and wander around its courts. It is very similar to the ones we visited in Seoul.

Just buy tickets at the nearby counter.
Noted it was just renovated in 2023. The place looks quite big (empty) tho…
Recommend to walk up the hill at the back and look down for the view. You can have a rest there also! Quite chill.

Took a nice walk around the palace grounds without many tourist at around 10.30am. Caught the 11am martial arts show right outside the main gate and was very impressed with the agility and the talent of the performers. Free entry for those 65 and above by showing the passport (applicable to tourist too).

A wonderful piece of history, beautifully restored after its gruesome past.
There is a huge garden with plenty of spots to relax and take in the view.
We visited on a Saturday, and were lucky to see a re-enactment of a royal guard ritual from King Jeongjo’s era.

Hwaseong Haenggung is an impressive historical site that offers a glimpse into Korea's rich royal heritage. The complex is quite huge, featuring numerous palaces and structures that reflect traditional Korean architecture. However, it's worth noting that many of these buildings have been rebuilt recently, which can give the site a somewhat modern feel despite its historical significance.
Visitors should be prepared to walk a lot as the area is expansive, and exploring all the nooks and crannies can be quite a trek. The well-maintained paths and beautiful landscapes make the walking experience enjoyable, but comfortable shoes are a must! Overall, Hwaseong Haenggung is a fascinating destination for history buffs and anyone interested in experiencing the grandeur of Korea's past.

Independence Hall of Korea is a museum that showcases Korean history and the country's independence movements under Japan's colonization. The exhibits are well curated and presented in both Korean and English. Visitors can also experience a 4D theater. Entry to the museum is free, and there is ample parking space available for up to 2,000 vehicles.
This was a great park and museum, very well done, informative and entertaining! This monument to independence was a great reminder of what the independence of a nation can and does mean! Coming from a country myself where our Independence is celebrated fervently, I am happy to see how proud and meaningful it is to South Korea as well! The exhibits were well thought out, cleverly done in places, and take you linearly through the independence movement and history of the great nation of South Korea! Kudos to the designers with interactive, educational, and historically significant moments captured vividly, expressing the emotion involved with the strife associated with gaining one's own independence for their nation! Kids and adults alike can learn and be taken aback by the spectacle of what it means to be FREE!

The Independence Hall of Korea stands as a poignant testament to the nation's tumultuous history, particularly during the period of Japanese colonial rule. Located in Cheonan, this museum meticulously chronicles Korea's arduous journey to independence, showcasing a rich array of artifacts and exhibits. The carefully curated displays offer a profound insight into the sacrifices and resilience of those who fought for freedom. The architectural grandeur of the hall adds a solemnity that complements the gravity of the historical narrative. For visitors seeking a profound understanding of Korea's struggle for independence, this museum stands as an indispensable educational and emotional experience.

The Independence Hall of Korea looks mesmerizing and ecstatically beautiful the day we went there. It was totally covered with snow. No matter how far your eyesight 👁️ goes , you will see only snow, snow and snow. For a moment i felt like i am in some kind of snow festival area. The place is quite and calming. Mountains and trees were covered with snow.
Now I have a habit of searching about places and researching about them before i go there. I see the reviews and the pictures and everything so that my money, time and energy doesn’t go to waste. So I searched about this place and i saw a couple of pictures and the place seems to me beautiful but the pictures are of different season and there’s no winter pictures, so at first i was scared whether we should go there or not in winter but i am glad we made the decision of taking the risk of going there. To my amazement we did right. It was beautiful!
Now coming to the inside of the Hall there are a number of halls, it was a huge complex so we were able to see only 6 halls. The pictures and videos you can watch below👇🏻
The place has a huge parking lot with 2000-3000 korean won. And the entrance fee to the Hall is free free free😎

An amazing land dedicated to the Independence of the Korea Country. I would imagine that this goes for both North and South Korea. You go through many different buildings that show the history and importance of the independence that Korea has gained from Japan and China. The land itself is just beaultiful to see. And they have 815 South Korean flags to signify that importance of August 18 the Korean Liberation day. Definitly make your way there if you get the chance.

Gakwonsa Temple, located in Cheonan, South Korea, is a significant Buddhist temple established in 1977 to pray for Korea's reunification. It features a massive 15-meter bronze Buddha statue, one of the largest in South Korea, and a main hall for prayer and meditation. The temple is set amidst beautiful surroundings on Taejosan Mountain, which is ideal for hiking. Gakwonsa also offers temple stay programs, allowing visitors to experience Buddhist monastic life.
I visited this temple alone. It is a wonderful place to visit. I arrived by taxi, but found it challenging to book a taxi for my return. From my personal experience, it is better to drive there personally.
I was fortunate that one of the temple staff kindly drove me into town and helped me book a taxi.

The Gakwonsa Temple is nestled at the foot of Mount Taejosan located halfway from the peak of Taejosan Mountain, a natural landmark of Cheonan. It is the second largest temple in South Korea after Gyeongju Bulguksa Temple, and it is a very popular tourist spot in Cheonan City. The Jueyuan Temple is composed of Taizu Mountain Tower, Jinghai Tower, Guanyin Hall, Daxiong Hall, Thousand Buddha Hall, Mountain Temple, and Qixing Hall. A 60 tons bronze statue of a seated Buddha with it’s 15 meters in high, with the main peak of Taizu Mountain as a background sitting on the east and facing the west, welcomes all visitors with a compassionate and calming smile. To the left of the statue is the largest Buddhist prayer hall in Korea, the Daeungbojeon Hall, which along other temple buildings, draws many Buddhist followers. Around the Temple complex there are numerous nature trails winding through the forest and up the mountain. There is no admission fee, and there is plenty of parking. The temple is a lovely place to bring family for an afternoon of exploration and reflection. A must while visiting South Korea due to the pleasant feeling and beautiful buildings surrounded by nature.

Galwonsa Temple is a nice piece of history, the place oozes calmness and looking at the scenery you feel at peace. I am sure this place must be amazing during spring with all the cherry trees and colourful buildings with lanterns around. It's shame most of the restaurants around are permanently closed (Covid maybe?), but definitely still worth the trip and walking around. We had no problem with parking by the temple, but I can imagine the place is busier during the weekends.

The temple it's self is really beautiful and also very detailed. The hike is what I enjoyed the most. You can hike for as long as you like. For the best view travel along the left ridge when you reach the top. To go even further up.

Ocean Adventure is a water park located in Cheonan that used to be known as Tedin Water Park. This family-friendly attraction features various splash pools and play areas designed specifically for children, as well as an indoor section for year-round fun. The rides are enjoyable and the park is of decent size, making it a great destination during the summer season for those living in Cheonan. Visitors can expect an exciting and entertaining experience at Ocean Adventure without breaking the bank.

We visited in the off season (autumn), so not all rides were open. The pay off for that was no queues for the rides that were open. But the biggest water slides were closed. Food and drinks were naturally over priced. Plenty of fun for the kids, stayed more than 5 hours.

It used to be called Tedin Water Park but now the name is changed. It is a decent sized water park in Cheonan. The rides are good enough. It is the best place to go in summer if you live in Cheonan.

It was okay to visit, but it’s not worth paying full price. After visiting, I could totally see why there were so many discount deals for this place. The full price for entrance was 55,000 won for adults and 45,000 won for kids during the low season, which I find not so cheap. Even with the high entrance price, there are extra costs for a life jacket (mandatory for attractions) and 25,000 won for a sunbed. I understand that some private cottages can be chargeable, but this is just a sunbed that you can sometimes sit on. There is no place you can actually sit without buying it.
I visited at the beginning of May, and most of the outside attractions were closed. The staff were very kind and helpful, though.

Great rides. The indoor rides are good, too! The only downside is that the food prices are a bit steep. Not too bad, though. Good sauna, too!

Good waterpark for kids under 10 with family. Expensive, but, close to Southern Gyeonggi-do, just 40 minutes distance. The price should be lowered to be alive against the other competitors like Onemount, or Playdosi. Surely, there are the sales coupons on the internet, but still, a little bit expensive.
Around this themepark with Daemyeong resort, CheonAhn Art Center is the almost only one building. The views of Daemyeong Resort are just 2, Kyeongbu highway or the undeveloped area with unknown plants. Highway view room's are noisy with the cars on the highways 1km far - I checked in.
Theme park is expensive, but close from the southern Gyeonggi-do. The condo is a good building, but, the views are not so good.
