The Riverbank Kitchen at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre

Met a friend for coffee here. We didn't eat as we had just had a lunch nearby. Very friendly, welcoming service from all staff. A temporary set up, but really tastefully done with a great rustic atmosphere. Lovely tempting scones, cakes, ice-cream on display. Oh! and THAT settee! It was so comfortable I could have stayed all day 😊.

I was working at the theatre for a touring production and was impressed to see they had vegan cake it seemed they had new ones almost every day (although I didn't have a chance to try them all) the one I did try was incredibleeeee !! I would go out of my way to go back for cake from here hahaha. The space is so beautiful too with the view of the river and so much light with all the huge windows. Worth a visit.

Eat yummy sensibly priced food, cheese scone and soup hit the spot, support your local theatre, and meet the smiley staff.

A small group of friends ate in the Riverbank Cafe before a show, My experience was great and incident free; I ordered the Breaded Place about an hour and a quarter before the show started. The order arrived in around 10 minutes, and the food itself was good, although the chips weren't to my personal preference (slightly soggy - I prefer them crispy, but ate the lot anyway!) However my friends experience was altogether different; He arrived 15 minutes after my order , and placed his order at the bar. Despite chasing his order twice, he still hadn't received his food 45 minutes later, with only 15 minutes left before curtain up time. With only 7 or 8 minutes left his order Finally arrived; a unappetizing looking super soggy pie that had no puff or crisp, appearing more like a reheated shop bought affair. It was wolfed down with little pleasure!

Perfect as a theatre refreshments space. Atmosphere sometimes a challenge as the downstairs seating area often chilly due to automatic main doors which are not sensitive to the inside ambient temperature!!
