Reviews
George's Tradition Long Eaton offers a mixed experience according to recent reviews. While some customers praise the freshly prepared and well-presented fish and chips, along with polite and attentive staff, others express disappointment in the cleanliness of tables, high prices for average quality food, and lackluster atmosphere. Despite some positive feedback on the delicious curry sauce and excellent chips, there are concerns about overcooked fish, soggy chips, and bland sauces. The establishment seems to have lost its former charm as described by long-time patrons who reminisce about better times when quality was higher. Overall, George's Tradition Long Eaton appears to be struggling to maintain its reputation amidst varying customer experiences.
The best fish and chips in Long Eaton by far. Not even cod scallops that won many awards is coming close to this delightful takeaway. There is dining in area also, you can order takeaway online and just pick it up ready on time or you can wait, when you just pop in, usually walking out wit food within couple of minutes. Portions are generous, and the fish is always fresh and crispy. My one to go without hesitation.
We ordered a small cod, small chips and for me large cod and large chips, the girl serving tries to convince me that she got me a large chips!!!! She really has an attitude problem! Food is good but the service is below average!
Popped in on our way home on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered 2 large cob meals (comes with chips and mushy peas) and a picked egg. Honestly, it was just delicious! Best we've had in ages.
Staff were lovely and kept us posted on timings. 🙌🏼 Would definitely pick up again from there.
Best fish and chips ever in Midlands. Very old fashion but the quality never let you down. Have a large cod with curry sauce and mushy peas, a plate of bread and butter, a nice cup of tea. Perfect. The batter is so light and crispy, not oily at all, the fish is very fresh and good quality. We always go there when we want fish and chips.
We love eating at George's the fish and chips are pretty much perfect and beautifully crispy, much better than Takeaway. Staff seems to change regularly and whilst consistently good, the current young woman is particularly cheery, chatty and a credit to the establishment.
