Restaurant
Savant in St. Croix is a popular restaurant known for its fusion of Mexican, Thai, and Caribbean dishes. It's highly regarded by critics and visitors alike and is often ranked among the best restaurants in the Caribbean. The restaurant prides itself on using local ingredients to create unique dishes such as Thai curry with chicken or a fillet of beef stuffed with portobello mushrooms and goat cheese. The cozy indoor dining room fills up quickly, so it's recommended to make reservations in advance.
WOW! Picture perfect AND great hospitality! The food exceeded any expectations, especially as vegans. I was impressed that our server was also vegan and could help with the menu. I celebrated my birthday here and thought it rained a lot on the inside it felt like an underwater treasure. This place is truly a beautiful gem. 5 star from me a highly detailed picky foodie where aesthetics and service matter. All the staff were kind genuine and thoughtful! Wine: California Zinfandel

Hands down - the best meal in the town! Everything is special about this place, the atmosphere, service - fast and polite, and especially food. We tried their lazy lobster, with previously ordered chargrilled calamari appetizer for the first time and their lamb chops for the other night.. - everything was absolutely delicious. Also, the wine cart there is impressive as well. Highly recommended dining experience on St. Croix!

Friends of my wife and I invited us to dine at Savant the other night. We had never been there before, so we said yes to try it out. We had heard that it very fancy and good food. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it sure does make for it on the inside (don't judge a book by its cover). When walking through the entrance (the entrance is in the back by the way), my eyes were drawn to the ceiling right away due to the fact that there is no ceiling. The ceiling is made up of a large white heavy duty fabric tarp, stretched very tightly from a ruins stone wall over to another sculpted wall. A large sit at bar is on the left and a small open area for the dining tables (about 11 or 12 total). The sculpted wall has love seat areas that are molded right out of the wall for seating on the other side of the tables there. The wait staff were great and attentive. I had the Bacon wrapped Pork Chops and my wife had a linguini dish. The food was very good and pleasantly arranged for a beautiful presentation on the dish (FANCY). I highly reccomend a chilled shot of Patron for an after dinner drink (fyi, it is HUGE and well worth it). Parking is located in the back where the entrance is, just on the other side of the marine boat shop.

WOW! Wish i could give this place a million stars. The service was incredible, every single person was so friendly. The environment was one of a kind and the structure was just breathe taking. Chad was phenomenal and so friendly, could not have asked for a better waiter. Wish I was here longer I would come back again, and again. Loved this place and would totally recommend. (Pictures are of the lobster special, and the duck which is on the menu annually).

Fabulous dinner at Savant. We sat inside and would love to try the garden next time. Bartender and wait staff were great. Food was wonderful. We had the lobster eggroll, Mahi special and Tuna special - all very good!

One of the best menus I've seen. The appetizer menu alone was amazing. Impossible not to find something great on the menu. Food was outstanding and the service was the same. We had a table of 8 in the courtyard and that was very nice. Highly recommend this restaurant

The food was so good!! We sat in the grotto area which was so charming. I loved it! I had a lobster dish. It was magnificent! My husband had their fish special that night. I can’t recall which one but it was beautifully presented and delicious as well. I highly recommend Savant when you visit!! This is a really special place.

Bar & grill
Skinny Legs is a popular bar and grill located in Coral Bay, St John. It's known for its laid-back and funky vibe, combining a restaurant with a retail store. The menu features fresh salads, mouth-watering burgers, sandwiches, and homemade chili. Notably, they serve burgers with chips instead of fries to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, they offer daily specials and tropical drinks alongside cold beer.
If you get a chance to visit Skinny Legs don’t miss it. The food and atmosphere are great. Try the daily special. The drive is a bit tricky if you are not use to the left handed driving, but the views on the way are so worth it. Michelle in the gift shop was so friendly.

Best place to eat in Coral Bay that we have found. Reasonable prices and good food. Game that kids or adults could play while you wait for your food. Our server Jess was great.
Steve F — Google review
So our Skinny Legs trip was kind of an accident – we drove all the way over to Salt Pond Beach b/c it was raining in Cruz Bay and we were told the “dry” side of the island is always better when that happened. It was raining harder at Salt Pond by the time we got there! So rather than trek down a muddy trail and sit in the rain, we backtracked for lunch at Skinny Legs. We weren’t the only ones with that idea; the place was heaving. Fortunately they have a lot of parking, we kind of wedged our jeep between two boat trailers in the harbor parking lot next door. After tracking down the guy who had the waitlist (turned out to be the owner!) we tucked ourselves away in a corner of the bar with a couple of beers and waited for our table. As we watched the staff bob and weave through the hectic crowd, it occurred to me that they all seemed to have really good attitudes for being as busy as they were. The bartender always delivered our beers with an unhurried smile, even though he had a stack of drink orders. The waitstaff very politely excused themselves as they zipped around the space. It was really impressive. We finally sat down after about a half-hour wait (which is what we were quoted). The service continued to be friendly and relaxed, and the burgers were ah-may-zing! Very happy the weather gave us an excuse to try Skinny Legs; it will be definitely be on our must-visit list next time we’re in St. John.

Skinny Legs is a funky, popular eatery at the east end of St John in Coral Bay. Mostly burgers and sandwiches with a busy bar. It's very good at what it does. Good food, fun atmosphere, decorated with college pendants and police department decals on the posts and rafters. Perfect lunch spot.
Anita C — Google review
This is a great local bar/pub with a lively laid back atmosphere. Theres a few TV’s around the bar area, plenty of tables too. Theres food looked terrific & drinks were not only well priced but darn good. There’s a wonderful store attached to Skinny Legs & the owner is wonderful. There’s prices are excellent for St John clothing & jewelry. Probably the best prices by far of anyplace I’ve been to on the island of St. John. There’s parking in the front (store a few steps down) and parking in the read (pub area).

There ya go! 2 for 2 xoxo Jessica is the best server around and the blue cheese burger is amazing...get a salad, it is so fresh and so yummy! My absolute favorite too, key lime pie..you can get it to go and bring it back for later that night. Lots of chickens and babies walking around to keep you entertained while you wait for your fresh food to be prepared made to order, good atmosphere for families and adults alone looking for an escape! Also stop in the giftshop/store on site so many unique clothing items and unique st john memory keepers! Bathrooms outside and bring bugspray after 3pm... Like everywhere else on island Enjoy yourself while you appreciate how blessed you are to be in such a place with such great food and great company! Welcome.to St Johns best burger location

I wouldn't say to drive out to Coral Bay just to eat at Skinny Legs, but if you find yourself in Coral Bay, Skinny Legs is a great place to eat! The fish sandwich was spicy and delicious (and huge!) The beer was cold and staff very attentive and kind. Remember your manners on the islands! Don't let you kids or yourself enter a restaurant in just a bathing suit, the locals don't want to look at half naked tourists all day. And always start a conversation with a time of day greeting (good afternoon, good day etc.) We will be back when we make it back to St. John!

Writing this to the two Ishee reviews left tonight... You are the reason we all wish the internet would stop promoting the island...The audacity of your review and then to leave two...smh for what? Anywho the best food and drink and atmosphere around...also the only restaurant in this area. The resources on an 11 mile wide island that has rolling electrical outages and has to ferry everything in are limited. This includes space...workers...etc. Island time is real and we all enjoy it...there are restaurants in major cities with longer wait times. It is not anyone's responsibility but your own to have emotional intelligence and to have social responsibility, cultural awareness and research for your vacation destination. You put yourself on the wait list correct? That implies you are willing to wait. You have the ability to ask for the wait time, ask for your waiter if you need something, ask other people about the place before you go. On an island where water is trucked in...electricity is out more than it's on...they serve beef but no cows around...limited housing due to air b&bs now for tourist and even more limited; affordable housing for residence who are workers at such restaurants...I would say a total wait time of 1.5hrs isn't bad. Not sure if you noticed but common theme for island life is drinking...its not anyone's wish to get you drunk bc clearly you are an entitled visitor one who might get in the car drunk and drive on the wrong side of the road and cause major issues...so No, I guarantee making people wait so they can get "boozed up" and forget about it is not on the agenda. There have been new laws put into place that cause restaurants to close bc of new requirements which pushes more people into the restaurants that are open. Also, why would someone apologize for you being upset at a normal wait time for the establishment? Accountability for what action? The waiter doesn't cook your food? You ordered so you owe the money so he gave you your check...seems he is accountable to his employer, who is responsible for keeping the place open so people like you can eat real food after a long day at the beach. I will end it with this... you are on the most perfect island in the entire world, with the best people, best stress-free atmosphere...a truly tranquil place where wifi and cell service is patchy...and you wanted to hurry up and get on Google to leave 2 bad reviews for the same incident to drive their score down? Like what was.your point? The food was still the best around! Which is why you were there in the first place.

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque hills above Charlotte Amalie, the Old Stone Farmhouse is a must-visit dining destination for anyone looking to indulge in an unforgettable culinary experience. Housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century plantation stable, this upscale restaurant offers market-driven American cuisine that perfectly complements its historic ambiance. The intimate setting features candlelight and massive stone walls, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere ideal for celebrating special occasions or impressing new friends met on the beach.
If you’re on the fence because of some recent poor reviews I’d urge you to go anyway. We ate here last night and had a wonderful meal and excellent service. The atmosphere is soothing and elegant. Our service was well paced, so we could relax and really enjoy our food and surroundings. Not rushed and not slow. My fluke feature was fabulous, wonderfully balanced creative flavors. The wine selection is very nice with a wide range of price points. Desserts are made in house. Overall fabulous dining experience and we would absolutely go back again!
Erin M — Google review
The atmosphere and food are incredible, but the service was a little lacking for being a fine dining establishment. We had a variety of dishes and appetizers, drinks and desserts, and they were all delicious. Our server was very nice and was attentive at first, but then disappeared for quite a while after our appetizers were delivered. No one came to check on us until after we had finished our entrees. We had a bottle of wine in a chiller across the room and ended up getting it ourselves since we hadn’t been checked on in a while by anyone to see if we needed more wine/drinks/waters - neither our server nor the man that brought us the wine came by between appetizers or entrees (a third person brought the entrees out quickly). I believe they are still very newly re-opened and could be working through some kinks, but we were hoping for a bit more with the service. We’ll definitely return and give them another shot, hopefully it was just a one-off night.

This is a nice upscale restaurant to eat at while in St. Thomas. Very cool history behind the place. The food was phenomenal. I have no complaints. It was the best dinner we had the entire time on the island. They’re often changing their menu.

The ambiance at Old Stone Farmhouse is romantic with its beautiful interior. The service is top tier and the food is delicious.
Nicole C — Google review
This place is absolutely stunning!! All the old stone and ambiance is dreamy. Straight out of a fairy tale!! The colored lights throughout were a little much and to make it more upscale could be replaced w white. The food was so so. It lacked flavor. The entree we chose was salmon and we couldn’t eat it because it was so dry and had no flavor. The cabbage salad it was served w lacked flavor also. The drinks - so so. Wasn’t what I was expecting. We did get our salmon meal taken off the bill. We were apologized to and told it was frozen salmon and not fresh and that’s why it was dry. We were also offered another item off the menu. Our server, hostess, and the manger were great. They were all very friendly. We still paid $144 ish dollars plus a tip for 2 drinks a small salad and 1 crab cake. That was w the salmon dishes taken off. I’d recommend going for a drink and not dinner.

Favourite dinner we’ve had in a long time! They’ve done such a stellar job with this restaurant. We were greeted by Jimmy with a smile, the atmosphere and vibe was fantastic, and Rick our server was super knowledgable about the menu and also the building itself. The service was quick and attentive. Loved the food, loved the wine! Don’t miss dinner here!!

Gorgeous place, excellent food, awesome service! Went there for Valentine's Day, a prix fixe meal involving caviar-topped salmon paté and other amazing foods. Valet parking. Note: V-Day menu was $175. Per person. They won't tell you unless you ask, so ask when you make your reservation, or at least before you arrive.
Shelly E — Google review
From the moment we drove onto the property, we knew we were in for a treat. The valet parking service is helpful being that the restaurant is on a hill. On our last day in St. Thomas after a full one week trip, we came for Sunday brunch before our flight. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays.. We strongly recommend making reservations. The maitre d' - Barbara is truly a gift. We commented on the beautiful music selection 🎶 and learned Barbara was responsible for the playlist selection. It set the right tone as we enjoyed our last meal in the capital Charlotte Amalie. I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits as it made me nostalgic of childhood memories. My partner had the French toast and found it okay. He really enjoyed the dessert- apple crisp, while I enjoyed the chocolate torte. The staff here are very courteous and attentive. We enjoyed our quiet moment while dining before the larger groups came in and it became very noisy. This was one of our most memorable dining experiences and look forward to returning when in STVI again.!🌞🏝️

The Twisted Cork Cafe is a vibrant eatery that offers eclectic comfort meals with a Caribbean twist and an impressive selection of global wines. It provides a cozy setting for indulging in the ultimate dining experience, promising to surpass your expectations. This prestigious Michelin-starred fine dining establishment takes comfort food to new heights, offering a delightful Caribbean flair that adds an extra layer of flavor to their carefully curated menu.
Such a wonderful dining experience! I called to make a last minute reservation for my husband and I. Once notified it was our honeymoon, our lovely server Abby had a handwritten sign on our table waiting for us. During our meal the chef Jason walked over to ask how things were and gave us some insight on local food. Their food however… was amazing!!! We had a salad as our starter (forgot the name but it has cashews and passion fruit dressing which was sooooo delicious!!!) Incredible unique flavors and large portions, which were a blessing in comparison to other high quality restaurants on the island. I got the salmon risotto and my husband got the lionfish and sweet potato fries. (The sauce was amazing!!!) Everything was wonderful. Next time we will be back for dessert and wine! Thank you again for having us 🩷

Our group of 20 was welcomed with open arms. From making the reservation to closing out the tab ay the end of the night, our experience was flawless. The service was outstanding - water glasses were kept full and drinks never ran out. We ordered a wide variety of dishes - from pork chops, to the daily special steak, to lion fish and chips, to the daily special red snapper - and everyone raved about their meals. We are so thankful

Great spot in Frenchtown for a solid wine list and wonderful food. Something as simple as a mixed green salad was worthy of comment for its freshness and unique vinaigrette. We both had dishes that were served with chicken as the protein and the chicken was extremely juicy and delicious. Attentive service. Found it through a local recommendation. Did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

We had Jason come to our house to cook a three course meal with wine pairing. The food was amazing, loved the lion fish, and the whole family had a very nice evening. Jason delivered everything exactly like we had agreed. He is an awesome person to have around and had tailored the food to vegetarian/ non-vegetarian / picky kids 🙂

Good restaurant within walking distance to our hotel. We arrived shortly after opening and had the restaurant to ourselves. Nice atmosphere with impeccable service! The Lionfish and Chips were ok, Chicken Caprese sandwich was awesome.

Rolled into The Twisted Cork Cafe (TTCC) for dinner on our first night in St. Thomas. After a long day of travel, a small flight delay, really buffeting winds aloft… we were ready for a very relaxed, enjoyable dinner, with a good bottle of wine! We had not made a reservation for dinner due all the unforeseeable things that can happen on a long travel day. We looked for a highly rated place within walking distance of our hotel, and viola, TTCC popped up. So glad the online reviewers were on point for this place. Totally laid back place, not at all crowded on a Friday evening at dinner time… fantastic service and fare included! TTCC is not a big place, seating in a front bar area and a more traditional dining room in the back. We were initially seated in the back dining room, but with multiple AC units pumping the room with cold air, we opted for the less chilly front room… we had that room to ourselves the entire meal! The back room got pretty crowded as the evening wore on, but TTCC was able to easily able to accommodate the walk-ins. Most of the tables have a small, but real, oil lamp on them… very cute, nice touch! Service was great, attentive but not intrusive. In the spirit of the islands we started with a shared rum punch. We anticipated the sweetness, no surprise there, it was darn good. We figured we’d be having fresh seafood, so we opted for a Folonari Pinot Grigio, which was presented at the perfect temperature, and paired very well with the food we ordered. TTCC is more of a wine bar, the wine list, while not exhaustive, is a thoughtful collection of the primary varietals from the old and new worlds, with a nice little selection of bubbles if you want that. First up was a nightly special, Caribbean Seafood Chowder (think cioppino in Northern CA, Phil’s Fish Market in Castroville, CA, has killer ciopinno… if you visit, you can by a T-shirt with the recipe on it, to make it at home… it’s a day’s work, but worth it!). The TTCC chowder was full of a variety of fresh seafood, a tomato-based soup with lots of fresh veggies and wonderfully spiced. TTCC has an onsite herb and vegetable garden where many of their ingredients originate! Delish chowder! For entrees we decided to share the lionfish piccata and the fried grouper sandwich. The lionfish was firm, tender and plentiful. A very generous portion, fried to perfection, served with rice and fresh broccoli. The piccata sauce was wonderful. The grouper sandwich was equally good. Another generous portion of fish, lighted battered, fried to crispy, served on French bread with a little mayo, a few capers, thinly sliced red onion and romaine lettuce… heaven on a bun! The side of duck fat fried pomme frites was amazing! Served piping hot (as ordered) served with truffle aioli… amazing! Next up dessert! Based on prior reviewer comments, there was only one dessert to get… ballpark pie! The huge piece of pie features all your memories from the ballpark … peanut butter mousse on a graham cracker-pretzel crust. Topped with chocolate ganache, peanuts, whipped cream, caramel and chocolate sauces and cracker jacks. What an ending to an awesome meal! Not sure we’ll have time to dine at TTC.C again during our short visit on the island, but we’d definitely go back! They’re open for lunch and dinner Mon-Thurs, closed Sat and Sun. Highly recommend The Twisted Cork Cafe.

We had a wonderful dinner here - the portions were massive (almost unnecessarily so), flavors and textures were incredible, and it was a wonderful way to end our trip. Highlight for me was the salmon risotto, hands down. The salmon was cooked to perfection - still soft and practically melt in your mouth in the center. The risotto was not too overpowering. And I loved the onion crisps - the crunchiness balanced out the dish.

Italian restaurant
Virgilio's is a charming Italian restaurant located on a shady backstreet in Charlotte Amalie. The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a favorite dining spot for many visitors. Additionally, the area around Virgilio's is home to other culinary gems such as Spanish-focused Amalia Cafe and Surf & Turf, which offers vegan options alongside its surf and turf menu. For those seeking stunning views and delicious seafood dishes, Fish Bar near Hull Bay is highly recommended.
Consistently delicious with incredible service and an intimate atmosphere. We return for girl’s nights, date nights, birthdays, and just an excuse to eat delicious Italian food. The table-side Caesar is delicious and fun to watch, the pastas and entrees are always delicious, and the espresso martinis and tiramisu are my favorite after dinner treats on island. They also make you feel super special for birthdays, with a big sparkler and music, the whole restaurant seems to chime in to celebrate with you. We’ll definitely return, it’s one of our favorite places, and

Wow! 🤩 Incredible restaurant with equal parts Italian authenticity and genuine hospitality. Made from scratch Caesar salad for two 🤌🏼*chef’s kiss*. I had the salmon with dill cream sauce. My husband had the eggplant Parmigiana. The cheesecake- oh so creamy- and the flan was delicious as well. Would definitely recommend and we’ll definitely return. Thank you, Virgilio’s!

We were sent here on the recommendation from a bartender and I am so glad we listened. This place is amazing. From the attentive staff, to the fresh food, the art pieces and table side bananas foster. It was all perfect. Yes, it’s pricey but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. The restaurant was filled with large parties but we never felt neglected because there was only two of us. The food was to die for. We started with the table side Cesar salad, hands down best I have ever had. We will definitely be eating here again when we return to the island.

A bartender at Taphus recommended this restaurant as an excellent choice for a later dinner, as many places tend to close early on weekdays. We were fortunate to be accommodated without a reservation, though reservations are strongly advised. The cuisine was outstanding, albeit on the pricier side. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting, filled with guests who clearly had enjoyed the restaurant on prior visits to St. Thomas. The setting created a warm, celebratory vibe, perfect for family gatherings or special occasions. Service was relaxed, and the food arrived at a leisurely pace, so it’s wise to allow ample time for your meal. But with the beautiful Caribbean surroundings, there’s no need to rush. On our next visit to St. Thomas, we’ll be sure to return—and make a reservation this time!

Birthdays and anniversaries are a fun event, with songs that get the whole restaurant singing! Caesar salad 100% authentic with tableside service! (But min. 2 people—it serves 4 easily). Tables are cramped and even with reservations (must have) be prepared to wait. But well worth it. Excellent wine list. Yum!!!

We came from Europe in September. The atmosphere was really nice, and the restaurant's interior is just perfect! However, when the food arrived, we were completely disappointed. I had the seafood pizza, and it was very disappointing. The pizza dough tasted like it was bought frozen, as did the fish. I believe you can find better pizza anywhere else, especially for this price. The server recommended the house lasagna, but it also wasn't great—very small portion. The staff was okay, but a bit too pushy when trying to sell more items. Overall, while the ambiance was lovely, the food quality did not match our expectations.

This was an exceptional dining experience. Some of the best Italian food we have ever had (believe it or not). The best meal on our USVI vacation. Incredible atmosphere and extremely pleasant staff. Legit 5-star experience.

Great spot for dinner. The food and service were great. First, the bread they bring out to start is great. We had the Cesar salad, which they made the dressing right in front of you. It was so good. I ordered the Alfredo, and it was amazing. The walls are all covered in unique art. It's small, so I recommend a reservation to make sure you get a table. Parking is also tough, so it is better to get a taxi or walk.
