Observation Decks & Towers
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Exploration Tower is a striking seven-story building in Cape Canaveral that offers an immersive experience for visitors. The tower boasts observation decks providing breathtaking views of the area, along with interactive exhibits that delve into the region's history, culture, and wildlife. From film areas to virtual boat piloting experiences, there are numerous hands-on activities to engage with. This architectural gem also serves as a tribute to Port Canaveral's 60th anniversary and its significant role in space exploration.
A landmark to remember! It's a lasting tribute to those astronauts who ventured into space travel; some of which gave their lives for the betterment of our planet. The tower offers breathtaking views. Visitors are able to see various items throughout, some of which include historical photos, precious artifacts, and memorabilia. The whole experience took us roughly 1 hour. We noticed several areas that provided great photo opportunities. Given the minimal price, we will likely visit again. Additionally, I know in the past they've offered "rocket launch" viewing... definitely something we'd love to see in the near future. ✌🏼

This is a review of the walking path around the Exploration Tower lake. The Tower may be closed but after a meal at one of the many restaurants nearby, there is a nice and even 1/2 mile concrete side walk around the Tower and lake. Many different birds and ducks. Even an alligator?
Charm — Google review
The exploration tower is a beautiful piece of architecture and can be seen from pretty much everywhere in Port Canaveral located near the waterfront, this building has 7 floors of observation decks and interactive exhibits with information about the history of Port Canaveral and the surrounding area. It offers scenic views of the Port and the Kennedy Space Center. There is also a small lake with a paved pathway surrounding the tower. It is exceptionally beautiful lit up at night. Unfortunately the tower is currently closed, until further notice, for renovations.
Ray W — Google review
The price was very inexpensive. The staff very knowledgeable and I enjoyed going on each floor experiencing what was there. Although I ‘m afraid of heights I had no problem going out onto the Observation deck. on the seventh floor they also have binoculars that you can use for free to look around I took many pictures and was very enjoyable. The view from the 7th was beautiful. They also sell Observation tickets on launch days how cool would that be.Every every floor had something to either read or look at.

Complete waste of Taxpayer's money. They built this eyesore, then realized after a short time that it was sinking, because they screwed up building it. Then they closed it to the public to have it repaired. After being repaired, which took years, it was still off limits to the public for some reason... except all the Port Authority people can still have meetings/parties there. Comical. It's now been at least 8 years and this tower just sits there taking up space after we paid tons of money as taxpayers. Before it started sinking and they closed it, it was an amazing local history museum that I was never able to see in person, unfortunately. Leave it to Port Authority to make stupid decisions and make locals unhappy.

Free. Easy parking. History. Gifts. Cafe. Elevators or stairs. However is now closed for renovations till Spring 2023. Stunning building. Nicely done. The outside is beautiful and the lights at night are so cool. Water is active with plenty fish. No fishing allowed.
J. R — Google review
There's not a bunch to do here while certain exhibits are closed - but for free it deserves a 30 minutes stop on a clear day. The view from the top is most interesting if there are cruise ships in port - otherwise you can see the launchpads of NASA, but I doubt you can be up here during a launch. The sculptures in the atrium were very eye-catching for me - made from recycled materials?
Steve M — Google review
Great place, wonderful views all the way around. The staff were friendly and helpful. The tower was filled with local history of the port and surrounding areas. Wonderful for family's. Also a nice little gift shop there as well. They also have a big simulator so you can try to dock a ship. Also the price is 6 dollars per adult not bad at all. Definitely coming back would definitely recommend.

Cherie Down Park is a 7-acre beach park located between Port Canaveral and the Cocoa Beach Pier. It features a 200-ft. boardwalk along sand dunes, picnic shelters, free parking, bathrooms, and showers. The park offers easy beach access with three entry points through the dunes and a wide stretch of pale sand at low tide.
The parking is complimentary, there are bathrooms. Lots of parking. Short walk to the beach. We enjoyed watching several vessels come and go from the port while waiting for an afternoon rocket launch! The same was soft and dry.

We got to see one of SpaceX’s rockets launch and the booster rocket return. If you have not experienced this, it’s a must! Those feeling about being an astronaut as a kid are rekindled by the pure awe of watching what we as humans are capable of. Making you feel more proud of being an American than even.
Christopher K — Google review
Beautiful. Small town charm park. Easy parking and beach access through steps and short boardwalks. The restrooms were gross on the day we were there, but that doesn't take away from the great time we had at the beach. Not crowded on a Tuesday in July! Take your tent, umbrellas and coolers! July 2024
Marvilla M — Google review
Where we parked had a bathroom, it was extremely disgusting. It also has one shower. And a small pavilion. The beach itself is awesome! Not super busy. There's a pipe going along it that they are using to transfer sand to restore the beaches. It is very ugly. But the beach itself it beautiful and clean. No life guard. We saw dolphins.
Michelle — Google review
It was very peaceful and quite, the only thing that was a little difficult was all the broken sea shells in the sandi thought I was going to cut my foot but none of us did.

Cute little beach access, free parking. We came to watch our other family members go paragliding just off the beach. Pretty area, would definitely come back!

Outdoor Activities
Manatee Sanctuary Park, situated along the Banana River, covers over ten acres and offers a variety of activities for visitors. The park features paved trails, exercise stations, a covered boardwalk, picnic facilities with grills, and horseshoe pits. While manatees are occasionally spotted in the river, they are not guaranteed sightings. The park provides limited shade on walking trails but offers some shaded areas on the boardwalk with benches overlooking the river.
Cute park that is clean and nicely maintained. Has a nice even blacktop and boardwalk path. Exercise stations around the lake, nice playground for the little ones. We had a very pleasant and peaceful walk.

Peaceful little park with a nice and flat half mile loop. Wonderful for dog walking or catching the sunset small playground for children and ample room for riding bikes within sight of parents awesome boardwalk along the water with many nice benches throughout the entire park. This park is a sanctuary for bats, birds and sea creatures. Small but very tranquil. Easy to park!

Nice little free park with paved paths. Great for children. Covered picnic area with bathrooms and water fountain. Dog friendly. Electric car charging. Exercise equipment.
Michael T — Google review
A great park! Clean. Very nice walk/run path with exercise stations! Several kinds of birds, & soft shell turtles in the ponds. Nice covered boardwalk part with benches. Some views onto the bay.
Karla C — Google review
Beautiful park with several covered areas to observe the Atlantic with interesting sightings of sea birds and soft-shelled (leatherback turtles) with long necks and bulgy eyes- seen under the bridge. Hoped to see manatees in the Atlantic but not visible in late afternoon.
CC D — Google review
Lovely park with lovely views! Missed the best timing on seeing this tree but got a wonderful little journal from the free little library. Great way to pass the time if you arrive early for a cruise. Playground could definitely use a garbage clean-up but otherwise in good shape.
Beck C — Google review
Beautiful park, very well maintained. Loved the walking paths with some low impact exercise stations. We did see one manatee swimming by, and a lot of ibis's and a few herons and an anhinga very upclose.

Visitors can enjoy amenities like picnic tables, laundry facilities, hot showers, toilets, and electric hook-ups. We are almost done a month long stay here. It’s been great and we are so happy we chose it. The campground is clean. Laundry and bathrooms are spotless. The workers couldn’t be nicer. There are so many things to do. Beautiful beach is just steps away. It’s cool to watch the cruise ships come and go. We saw about 7 launches and even saw a submarine. Took an airboat ride close by was really cool. Hope we can get a spot here next year!
Donna D — Google review
I could not respond regarding rooms, location or anything other than the service, which was embarrassing. We made a reservation to stay at Jetty Park based on a friend’s recommendation. The reservation was for this coming September. We are currently in the area camping elsewhere so we wanted to check out the park and campground. We purchased a $15 day pass to go visit. When we arrived, we were told we could not enter the park as we had our two 12 pound dogs in the car and they had a no pet policy. Pets were only allowed in the campground. We assured the person at the gate they would not leave the car, we only wanted to drive around, see the park and campground. We were told we could not get into the campground as we were not camping there. We camp a good bit and have never been told we cannot see a campground prior to checking in. As we were turned around at the gate, we decided to go ahead and leave. We then decided to cancel our reservation in September and ask for a refund. They did refund all but $46, which I thought was an excessive amount to not even get a t-shirt. Somebody is dropping the ball at this park. We would have gladly handed over our driver’s license, been given a time limit for entry, but we were simply turned away. We have been trying to find a park in the area for get away weeks. Unfortunately, Jetty Park will not be that location.
Alice W — Google review
Location is excellent, super nice staff. It’s crowded, went Sunday - Tuesday to see launches. They were amazing, watched from beach. Two negatives. Dirt sites and hard to find numbers ( they are on electric) also WiFi completely sucks. Yes you’re on vacation but we wanted to get launch info.
Carole H — Google review
The park itself is simple, but nice. A great place to go fishing or to watch the cruise ships sail off or spend some time at the beach. The issue is that the main building has been being renovated for what seems like forever. At least the public restrooms are still open.
David D — Google review
OK, it’s not the fanciest RV park in Florida, but it’s reasonably priced and the location can’t be beat. The Jetty Park Campground staff members are friendly and helpful. We had a full hookup site, not much shade, but fairly easy to back our small motorhome into and still have space to park our towed truck. It’s great for watching cruise ships sail, rockets launch, and you’re just a short walk away from the beach and pier. Quiet and very secure!
Steve S — Google review
We brought our camper, awesome place to camp. It was quite windy, enjoyed the temperature of 61F at night. It's nice because fishing and beach activities are near. We didn't get any fish when we went fishing in the morning. We'll try again later at night.
Donny ( — Google review
As a woman who has been in the state of Florida(city of Cocoa)since '74 Jetty Park never disappoints. If I'm being honest I don't walk too well but the walkways were paved making it easier to maneuver.
Deborah M — Google review
Check in process was absolutely ridiculous. Don’t get there even one minute before 2pm or they will make you park in the waiting area regardless of the site being open and ready. Dumbest thing I’ve ever had to do. We have been coming here for years and have never had this issue. Nor have we had this at other campsites. Consistency for staff is a poor excuse for the “strictness” when the site is ready and clean, guest has arrived less then and hour before check-in and they have to sit and wait for no reasonable purpose other than the position of the clock.

Seafood restaurant
Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar is a laid-back restaurant in Cape Canaveral, FL that offers a variety of seafood dishes such as sushi, sandwiches, and chowders. The establishment also serves tiki-style drinks to complement the coastal dining experience. It's located near popular accommodations and other dining options in the area.
As busy as this place was, we were able to slide in to a corner outside table rather fast. The food arrived super quick as well, which was a miracle in itself! Lol. But I loved this place. I didn't go inside, but being outside was what the Yooper needed, palm trees, pelicans, warm air, ocean and bevies....we still have snow back home😆 I'll definitely come back when I'm in town again!

Pretty cool spot for grub and drink. We went here after a quick fishing trip ( that we got skunked on so had to buy our dinner). Staff was super pleasant and helpful. Portions were great. Food tasty. Fairly quick service. Outside seating if you wish and views.
Max W — Google review
Very cool outdoor dining view of the marina area and excellent food as well. Outside tables are first come first served and indoor is the typical host situation. We had a variety of plates and everyone enjoyed their selections. I got the Delmonico with taters and brown sugar carrots. Tori was a great waitress busting her tail during a hot and busy day! We got to see a boat’s catch and a boat being lowered into the marina by a giant forklift as well. Very cool!
Devon E — Google review
Great spot for fair priced food and awesome views - not to mention the food was awesome! We were a group of 5 having drinks and lunch. Our bill came out to $375. We ordered a couple rounds of drinks and one round of shots. For apps we got tsunami shrimp - 10/10, voodooo wings - 10/10 highly recommend For meals we got the kebabs skewer trio(chicken fish steak), chicken Alfredo with french fries, beet salad with mahi, and Cuban sandwich - it was the best! Really enjoyable meal here and reasonable bill. I would come back again.

Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar in Port Canaveral has a great vibe, thanks in large part to the live music and friendly, attentive service. We ordered the mahi tacos and a full rack of ribs—both were just okay. The mixed vegetable side was overcooked, which was a bit of a letdown. Also worth mentioning: there’s a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Overall, while the food was average, the live music and atmosphere made for an enjoyable experience.

Loved the atmosphere here! The fish of the day lunch special was delicious, just like always. And the price is unbeatable - $17 is a great deal! Although I did take a few bites before my pic was taken.

The restaurant serves brunch, lunch, and dinner with a focus on seafood dishes. Their menu includes crowd-pleasing brunch options like Shrimp and Grits, Breakfast Burrito, and Smoked Salmon Platter.
Food is phenomenal! Our server, Victoria, was attentive, prompt, and friendly! Love the variety of seating choices: up top, outside, under canopy, inside or downstairs. An elevator gives those not able to do the stairs the same opportunity to diners in the open air. Positioned across from the cruise port, it is a great place to watch the ships sail out!

Was down for a cruise and wanted some seafood. Fish lips didn’t disappoint. Service and food were excellent. Atmosphere was great. Virtually every football game you wanted on a screen Food was excellent as well. If you ever in the Port Canaveral area you need to try this place out!

The coconut grouper was great! Had friends visit from out of town and took brought them here, they were not disappointed. We had a large group and barely had to wait a few minutes for a table on a Saturday early evening. The service was top-notch. The food was excellent. We'll be back
Frank P — Google review
So, this may have been the worst food I've EVER had. the Mahi was WAY over cooked, zucchini had no flavor whatsoever. the water front had a LE view. My friend got the chicken wings it was undercooked even though he asked for extra extra crispy and it was rubbery. the crab cakes were probably the best along with the bang bang shrimp. The server (Lauren) was amazing and on top of the service but honestly I would not come here again.
Marie M — Google review
Great service. Big menu variety. Everything was fresh and thanks to the waiter, who considered our wishes and made it perfectly prepared. Lovely outdoor area
Vladislava K — Google review
Update, we tried it again. We had a much better experience. We tried the swordfish dish, and the fish tacos. Both were great. Service was good as well. We'd definitely go back. The waitress was super unfriendly from the beginning and it made our experience unpleasant, even though the food and the rest of the staff were great. I highly recommend their shrimp nachos."
Israel R — Google review
When finished with lunch, waiter came by to ask if we needed refills on our drink. Yes acknowledged one of us. When he came back with the one drink he turned to me and ask if I wanted a refill also. I declined though it would have been nice half way through our meal to refresh our soda. Server was more interested in the party with the service dog he was standing over their table conversing most of the time we were there. The view was amazing though. A Cruise ship passed by. I had to wave bon voyage. Our sandwiches were very good. Go at the right time and the entertainment is great.

Southern Charm Cafe is a cozy and casual daytime spot that offers a variety of American comfort food, sandwiches, and hearty breakfast options. Located at 201 International Drive, Unit #223 in Cape Canaveral, FL, this charming cafe has garnered positive reviews for its delicious breakfast offerings. It's a popular choice among locals and visitors looking for a satisfying meal in the area.
The name of the restaurant is the same as the food, service and atmosphere. It was southern charm through and through. It took me 3 days to eat my two pancakes because they were so big. The prices are amazing for the amount you get. It was worth every penny.

Make sure you get their desserts! The Key Lime Cake is delish!! This place definitely lives up to its name! Definitely a locals favorite place and will have a bit of a wait on the weekends but the large portions and friendly service makes it worth it. There is a rustic heartiness that makes this comfort breakfast food very endearing. I got their Southern Fried Chicken and the portion did not skimp! Classic flavors and your choice of sides. I ended up getting some Sweet Potato Fries and Coleslaw, but in hindsight should have went with Collard Greens and Mashed Potatoes! Also, the fun playful decor just adds to its charm!
Sky T — Google review
Server was attentive to our needs and desires. Food came out fast and delicious. Biggest and most delicious biscuit Ice ever seen. Bell pepper, onion, tomato, and cheese omelette was great. Traded in the orange juice for water, because I didn't like the taste. Southern charm is aware of people with special needs like autism, traumatic brain injury, PTSD and whatever else their customers might bring with them. It was a very comfortable experience meeting them people that saved my Mother's life during a dog attack last year.
Richard O — Google review
I definitely recommend! Summary: Excellent breakfast, fast service, friendly staff, decent prices. Food: $14.99 I ordered the special on the board, “chicken fried chicken with two sides (and sausage gravy).” I chose hash browns (well done) and grits. The chicken was crispy and tender, the grits were tasty and the hashbrowns tasted like fresh potatoes. I got the sausage gravy on the side and it pulled everything together nicely. The unsweet tea was fresh and refilled without asking. The chicken and hashbrowns did not have that typical fried or greasy taste or feel, which is a welcome change from other place’s standard breakfast fare. Parking: There is a good sized parking lot with handicapped parking, it does get busy. Seating: There is a main dining room with tables and chairs, and a smaller one with tables, chairs and a gorgeous breakfast bar with sturdy wooden chairs. Service: Welcoming and friendly staff. Rena (Ren-A) was welcoming and explained the menu and the specials to me as I was a new customer. She checked in on me, asked if I needed anything. Atmosphere: For the amount of people that came in, it was still pretty quiet, several solo diners, besides myself at the bar area, and a mix of tourists and locals from what I could hear around me.
K G — Google review
This is truly southern comfort. The staff is wonderful and inviting, and the food is unbelievable! The fried catfish is tender inside, crunchy outside, and has a great cornmeal grit to it. The liver and onions have slightly chewy lean meat smothered in caramelized onions and a rich brown gravy. I would definitely stop in again!
Tyler B — Google review

Seafood restaurant
Seafood Atlantic is a waterfront seafood market and restaurant located in Port Canaveral, offering a variety of local fish, grouper sandwiches, lobster, and garlic bread. It's not a fancy dining spot but provides relaxed outdoor dining with views of cruise ships passing by. Established in 1984, Seafood Atlantic uses locally sourced fresh seafood to create its exquisite dishes such as fresh oysters, crab cakes, and seafood sandwiches.
Quirky little place near the cruise terminal. Outside only seating, but they had plenty of heaters for the cool, rainy day. Enjoyed the low country style seafood for four. Plenty of everything in the bow and well prepared. The seafood soup that comes with the dish was outstanding. Wait staff was knowledgeable and quick.
Brenda G — Google review
Very unique location next to the water. Sure was very friendly and had lots of information about the food. I could see if you got there at a busy time. It might be very difficult to park but they do have customers only parking signs up in front of the restaurant. They also have a seafood market which appears to have quite a variety of fresh fish, shrimp and crab. I had the scallops and if I was to score them I would give them 8 out of 10 and my wife had the blackened grouper and she said it was excellent. The third person in our party had the crab cakes. Probably rate them just average crab cakes
Dave M — Google review
What a perfect place to spend the afternoon with friends and/or family. The food at Seafood Atlantic is not fried, it’s grilled to perfection with your choice of seasoning. My wife had the fresh fish taco’s and I had the Mahi Burrito. We both started out with the potato soup and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is exceptional and you get to enjoy the amazing cruise ships coming in. People of all ages will enjoy this place. We will definitely be returning customers.

If you’re looking for a dockside restaurant, please do yourself a favor and come to this one. The food was phenomenal - just the right amount of seasoning, and you could definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. Oysters were absolutely massive, the clam chowder was some of the best I’ve had, and you can’t go wrong with their fish tacos.
Aoxue C — Google review
We always enjoy our time at Seafood Atlantic when in the area. The ambiance sitting at the waterfront deck is so peaceful, enjoying the dolphins and pelicans. Our go-to meal is the crab boil for two, which includes snow crab, red shrimp, hardshell clams, PEI mussels, corn, and taters. It really gives you a nice sampling of what the menu offers. Everything is steamed to perfection and then marinated in fantastically seasoned butter sauce. A side order of chowder is what I get (perfection), but the Ceasar salad is quite tasty as well. This time, we also enjoyed the mini crab cake appetizer - mmmm. Service is always friendly, knowledgeable, and speedy. You won't regret enjoying a meal at Seafood Atlantic!

Great location right in the harbor, with beautiful views of the water. The oysters and shrimp were absolutely top-notch – fresh and flavorful. Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar is a popular spot with harbor views that offers à la carte seafood in a laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant has an interesting history, starting with Rusty Fischer taking over the family business in 1965 and later opening the first Rustys Seafood and Oyster Bar in 1988.
All these types of places can be identical, however this one seems to be better than most. Wonderful service. Busy but accommodating. Food was well done. Fresh shrimp. I really couldn’t ask for more. They also have a really nice area to hang with a drink while you wait for your table to be ready.

Fantastic place!! From a Texan, the food was phenomenal! We are all about our steaks, and the sirloin was wonderful. I'd forgot to ask for steak sauce but totally didn't need it after all. The fries were cooked well with the best flavor. The fried gator was well cooked, and well seasoned. The molten lava cake with ice cream was delicious!! I'm thoroughly impressed! My boyfriend loved his burger too! Said it was one of the best he's had in awhile now. Even loved the gator and he was never a fan of it. Five huge stars for the service, the friendly faces, the food, and the atmosphere right on the water. It's beautiful here!

Ashley P was our server. She was very quick and attentive. We had the seasonal stone crab with battered fries, chicken tenders with fried mac and cheese, and catch of the day which was grouper with rice.the ranch for the salads is homemade and some of the best I’ve had. Looking forward to going back. We sat on the patio and a local band was playing the classic rock hits. Our favorite part was watching a staff member shoot birds away from the outdoor area with a water gun to ensure guests enjoyed their meals without any “bs” 😝 slid, don’t skimp on the key lime pie. We are t dessert people, but we saw the table next to ours out and had to order it. Whipped cream is homemade and thick and creamy!
LeSharpe — Google review
They will cook your own catch if you bring in the fillets! $10 a pound and they will cook it how you want it. There is a $2 up charge for Parmesan crusted but it was worth it! Food was amazing with a lot of options. Staff was friendly. I’m glad it was recommended by a local.
Jesse L — Google review
Not a great experience. Waited 45 minutes for a table. That’s ok they were busy. Ordered some drinks. My Jack and Coke was watered down before the first sip. Got seated. Ordered a gator bite appetizer. Took 30 minutes to get to the table and was delivered just before main course. Gator bites were extremely overcooked and extremely tough. Although gator is typically somewhat chewy this had the consistency of chewing gum. Got main course, food was lack luster. I got the tuna sandwich and asked for seared. Got a “well done” tuna that was also chewy and flavorless. The server was extremely nice and accommodating. She was doing everything she could to save the experience. So hats off to her. The kitchen… lackluster performance. Bartenders I switched to draft after the first drink, but my wife’s margarita was bitter. If you’re looking for authentic seafood.. this is not the place. If you’re looking for a good atmosphere, but accept your food may be less than, then you’ll be fine. Maybe it was a bad night, but we won’t be back.

Had an amazing lunch on their rear patio. Service was spot on as well as the musician providing live entertainment. Enjoyed our amazing food while watching the dolphins play in the harbor as a bonus.

If you're looking for a fantastic seafood experience, look no further than Rusty's Oyster Seafood and Bar! My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and it was an unforgettable evening. We started with both the steamed and raw oysters, which were fresh, flavorful, and simply delicious. The highlight of the meal, however, was the coconut shrimp-absolutely to die for! We also tried the New England clam chowder, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Our waiter was Zach. He was absolutely phenomenal. He recommended the mango colada which was refreshing. The food was outstanding, but the atmosphere was just as impressive. The restaurant features a live band that added to the lively vibe, and the best part is the view-you can watch cruise ships sail by and even catch a glimpse of Tesla's rockets launching into the night sky. Rusty's is definitely the place to be if you're in the area. The combination of delicious food, vibrant atmosphere, and incredible views makes it an experience worth repeating. Highly recommend!

Came here nearly every day on vacation. Grouper sandwich is insanely good. Oysters awesome too. Never ordered anything else because I loved it so much. Planning to return next year!
