Another amazing Italian duomo of notable importance and excellent architecture. The duration of building the cathedral makes it a blend of different intricate styles. The interior is as mesmerising as is the façade and the spire. A visit to the cathedral is a must when visiting Siena.

Beautiful inside. The main features to see is literally on the ground. Especially what you are able to see. It’s world renowned for the work carved on the ground. Much of it was covered by carpet to protect it.

The Siena Cathedral is absolutely breathtaking—hands down our favorite tourist spot in all of Italy. The architecture is stunning, with intricate details everywhere you look, and the art inside is just as impressive. Photos don’t do it justice; you really have to see it in person to appreciate the scale and beauty. If you're anywhere near Siena, this is a must-visit.

Stepping into Siena feels like entering an architectural time warp. If Il Campo is the heart of Siena, the Duomo (cathedral) is its soul. The church is as over-the-top as Gothic gets. Inside and out, it is lavished with statues and mosaics. The solemn gazes of 172 popes peer down on all those who enter. Siena’s steep, winding lanes make it easy to get lost — but in a city like this, there’s no rush to be found.

Incredibly beautiful, a must-see. The visit “gates of heaven” is worth the extra booking – the experience is quite cool.

Vibrant place with such an intense history. Beautiful parade, great audience. I recomand being at least 3-4hours early to attent the run inside la piazza. Otherwise be ready to pay big money. Also remember that this is a religious event as much as it is a sports thing. Went to see my second palio this summer but it was canceled last minute due to rain 😅🥲

Lovely spot, even in the rain. The tower is fun to climb up with spectacular views. Lots of shops, food, museums, and space. Great location. Well worth a visit outside of tourist season.

Famous gathering piazza in the historic center of Siena. The outside surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shops catering to tourist. Beautiful fountain with lovely carved sculptures on one side of an irregular shaped center. The whole of the middle is mad up of stone pavers where people gathered to sit, lay and hanging out relaxing. Soaking up the sun, eating a sandwich or focaccia or talking with others. And twice a year the location of a famous equestrian race event.

The town of Siena, her beauty cannot be overstated. A perfect mixture of old world architecture and modern commerce. I feel privileged to have been there. Go!!

A must visit when in Siena, reasonably busy but less so in the morning (particularly in October). Impressive views all around.

I absolutely love visiting Piazza del Campo. Sienna is a beautiful city to explore & the this square is wonderful. Great for photos, food & soaking up the atmosphere.

We didn't really see much of the area. We stayed overnight at a hotel inside the walls and ate at Caffetteria Gelateria dell'Olmo. The restaurant was not good. Our hotel, Hotel Leon Bianco, was very nice and had a wonderful breakfast. We had a heck of a time navigating the streets.

San Gimignano is the reason we came back to Tuscany after visiting it last yearfor a few hours, while driving through Tuscany. Beautiful walled medieval town, that was originally restored in 1800s, and probably the biggest attraction in Tuscany. The towers were a sign of wealth, and the taller the tower, the wealthier the family that owned them. They were originally built as protection against marauding neighboring townspeople, street scuffs, etc. these towers were connected to the residences of the owners. You can climb the tallest tower in town, for 7 Euros.

The cobblestone streets lead to amazing sites and the views are spectacular. Stop for an ice cream, a meal or a souvenir. Make it a point to stop on your visit to Italy, it’s worth the trip.

If you’re a shopper, this is the spot for you! Great variety on your way to visit the towers of the city. Ceramic shop is one of the best in Tuscany. Lovely leathers, olive wood, meat and wine shops. It is a long walk from the parking lot to the city gate. We were there in March, so we do not know if there is a shuttle up during high season.

A medieval open space at the heart of the uniquely beautiful city of San Gimignano. The piazza, like the rest of the place, feels like it's frozen in time. The atmosphere in the morning is peaceful although later on during the day, the place can become busy with visitors. There are several eateries and cafés around the piazza, some of them boasting to have the best gelato in the world.

A Medieval Masterpiece in Tuscany that must be seen. Wander through this beautiful town and be transported back in time. Wonderful boutique stores, trattorias, bakeries, gelato and so much more to experience. The views are breathtaking. Very easy to get to by car. Several main areas for parking. It truly is a magical place to see.

You feel like you’ve gone back to the medieval times when you enter this little city. They have performers in the piazza. Apparently there is a store here that is famous for making the best ice cream in the world but it’s nothing special.

A stunning piazza that is well worth seeing. Beautifully medieval houses adorn this piazza with a well in the middle. There is lots of interesting shops nearby. In piazza itself there is a famous gelato place. When we were there, there was live music playing nearby. Quite the experience I would say.

Wonderful medieval architecture lovingly preserved. Full of tourists as expected. The line ups for gelato were a joke. A must place to visit.

Alessia gave us a wonderful experience as she shared the history and wine process to us. As it is a family business, she shared her passion for this winery that her grandfather started many years ago. The wine tasting was very educational. We enjoyed our light lunch on-site. Nearby is a great spot for dining and shopping, a beautiful, quaint village nestled in the hills of the Chianti area of Tuscany.

We had an amazing vertical tasting at this family run winery. We got to try Wine from up to 24 years ago. From the tour, to the explanation, to the food and of course the wines everything was truly delightful. Highly recommend booking a visit. If you’re looking for a good high quality wines with an emphasis on family and tradition this is the place.

This is a lovely family owned and operated vineyard. Their Chianti was the best Chianti we had while our stay in Italy. This is a small quaint vineyard with a sweet little history. The food provided with the wine was very nice as well as the view of Montefioralle. It was worth taking a little extra time to visit to little village to us. I would recommend parking in the parking provided by the vineyard and walk to the village from the parking lot as there is limited parking in the village. We found a cafe open and enjoyed splitting a delicious panni while taking in the quaintness of the village. We enjoyed the experience.

I can fully recommend the wine tasting. We had a small tour through the cellar. Very interesting and well explained. Then we tried 4 wines with some food. For the price of the tour the value was very good with sufficient wine to test in our glasses. Not all of the wine was fully our taste. But 2 of them met our taste very well, so we bought some of them. Overall a nice experience with great views from the terrace.

Absolutely MUST visit when in the area! This is the perfect example of a beautiful and immersive wine experience. I was lucky enough to meet Manila and Lorenzo who were beyond hospitable in every way. The wines are some of the best I’ve had, and the view cannot be beat. Do not miss this winery!

Such a genuine and special experience! Our group of 4 was greeted warmly by Lorenzo and Alessia. Montefiorella is a small and family owned vineyard, which is what we were looking for. I HIGHLY recommend booking the vertical tasting for an elevated and intimate experience - definitely worth it. Lorenzo is so friendly, humble, and is truly passionate about Montefioralle, he answered all of our questions and openly shared his family’s history with the winery, making the afternoon unforgettable. Their homemade snacks were tasty and made the experience that much more special and family oriented. My favourite vintage was the 1998!

It was a great exhibition in 4 different places, the view from the tower is fantastic. Well marked how to go from one exhibition to the other if you follow the instructions.

Parking was a challenge as is was labour's day. Had to park in a lot just out of the old town, but at least it was free. Museum is good, but actually enjoyed the area around it more.

Vinci hosts this distributed museum around 4 buildings: castle, palace, original home and another small painting exhibition. The core are two nice building with models of Italy creations, aided by a mobile pdf guide for foreigner and a support of virtual reality for few models. Very nice, in a small town. Worth going there to see all four together. In the castle there is also a nice panoramical tower overlooking the valley and a couple of multimedia rooms telling the story of the genius, both in Italian and English alternated. We Orth it !

If you love history and one of the most historic figures who lived, the Leonardo Di Vince museum is worth the visit. The cozy town of Leonardo's birthplace, Vince, is also worth the visit in itself. The museum features models of his inventions and many of the 7000 sketches of his interests, including anatomy, motion, flight, metallurgy, painting, and sculpture. Leonardo transformed the world. He is considered one of the great geniuses of humanity, and his museum outlines this genius. The fee for just the museums, (2), is $9 EU. For $ 12 you can visit both the museums and his home birthplace.

Wow! I knew this man was brilliant but wow! The things he invented! Mind boggling. If you're into his inventions this definitely a must do. Tickets can be purchased upun entering the building. Put your climbing shoes on. There is an elevator inside and a free potty. I suggest you take advantage of it as there are no free potties. So keep those 1euro coins.

This is an amazing spot where you can watch the magnificent sunset in Florence. You have some food trucks is you are thirsty or in the need for a snack. It gets crowded, but is worth it so arrive here in between 5/5:30pm so you’ll get a good spot and enjoy the whole vibe here. ✨

Breathtaking views and a beautuful morning walk! If you go up in the morning, take the paths on the left for cool shade. I heard this is also a beautiful place for sunset!

As you start your walk towards the Michelangelo plaza you will see different stops with waterfalls and the view of the city gets more and more breathtaking until you reach the top where they have the famous Michelangelo sculpture, the David, and the view is absolutely to die for. You get to see the fortress wall, and the whole city throughout. A few places to drink wine or a cocktail or just water and relax with something to eat. Romantic and breathtaking.

The view is amazing but it is very crowded before sun set. My advice is to stay there after sun set the crowds will be much less and the view with the remaining day lights and city night lighting is very beautiful. Also the band performing and people dancing and singing is spectacular up there.

Piazzale Michelangelo offers one of the best views of Florence. It’s a peaceful spot to watch the sunset and take in the city’s beauty from above. A must-see for a great photo and a relaxing moment.

It's exactly what everyone says it is. You pretty much have to go and see the view if it's your first time in Florence. It's a great last day activity to put all the things you saw into the context of the city.

This is a wonderful place on a sunny day! The views are really worth it. The drive here was lush green and wonderful too. The views of Florence are too good from here. Great feeling.

A top must see ‘bucket list’ visit if you are in Florence. Easy to get to (public transport), easy to access and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The cafe/ restaurant is not straightforward to find due to the latest construction work going on but this is a small price to pay for such an opulent, immersive experience at one of the best museums we have visited to date. We will return!

If you're an art lover, this place is a must-see! We visited on a weekend during the off-season in the afternoon and had no trouble getting in. Be prepared to do some walking inside, but it's totally worth it. We spent about two hours here, though we easily could’ve spent more if we didn’t have small kids with us. My advice is to buy tickets in advance and try to go early in the day. That way, you’ll have plenty of time left to explore the city or check out one of the many other museums nearby.

Beautiful but might be too crowded. Highly recommend to visit early in the morning because there will be less people and the ticket is cheaper (before 8:45). Recommend to buy tickets beforehand. We bought the ticket at 5pm a day before, good thing is you don’t have to stay in line to buy ticket at that hour. Online tickets are also fine but we checked the time we wanted to enter but it was sold out online, thus we came to buy paper tickets.

I really enjoyed the art museum! It is super long and worth the money. Make sure you see everything it only takes a few hours. Try to go when it's not under construction but either way it's great.

I bought the annual pass so I can go in and out over the next two weeks. If you want to go to the all the galleries + palace + gardens, it seems like the best option. It also allows you to skip the line. Uffizi is very busy, even at 8:45am, so I am hoping to try and go at a later time to see some of the more famous art pieces with less of a crowd. If you are not super interested in renaissance work, I’d skip it though. Update - I went in the evenings on a weekday and it was much better. The website hours are wrong but with the annual pass, popping in for an hour or so was nbd. Really cool to go with fewer people!

So much to see, download the app and use that as your guide, otherwise you may end up staying all day. Also pre book tickets to avoid huge queues. The exhibits are outstanding and the Tribuna amazing. So many renaissance artists to mention but a must go to museum.

Absolutely stunning artwork inside. You can also purchase a telephone like device that gives you a personalized audio tour of each room and certain works. Very fun time, highly recommend.

2nd time back after 30 years! This cathedral still take my breath away! Yes..there were some areas are under construction but they still maintained good job. This time i Came in April 2025 and just the beginning of peak season. Still manageable in term of crowd. April is definitely perfect weather to visit. Definitely not in June. Must see.

Honestly, I can't start to comprehend how beautiful this Cathedral is. I'm not religious myself but visiting the places of worship in Italy has been a real treat that I have enjoyed. Personally I believe that it is most enjoyed from the outside as you get to truly soak in the detail put into the architecture. Underneath the Cathedral is also a gift shop and a museum. I did not have the opportunity to explore the museum but the gift shop was definitely nice. Overall, it is the centerpiece that holds the city together and is an absolute marvel to behold.

The postcard place of Firenze. The stunning cathedral, known colloquially, through its gigantic dome as "Il Duomo", is a sight to behold in every aspect. The exterior is immensely detailed, you can spend a good while admiring it alone. The entrance is free so the queues are super long. It is advisable to come early in the morning to have less wait time. The climb to the Dome has tickets, we weren't able to get them on the spot as the slot being shown available was 5 hours from our arrival time. Better to get these early.

Amazing from the outside, but somewhat underwhelming from within. It's a really big church! Amazing art and sculpture on the outside of the building - it's an imposing structure. However once inside, it's just a vast empty space. Doesn't have a great deal of character except for the areas of the cathedral that are off limits to visitors, where services are held.

I visited this place 10 years ago and was truly amazed. Coming back after a decade, I still find it beautiful. However, the exterior looks even more stunning and refined than the interior. It opens at 10:15 AM, and no ticket is required. I recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to line up.

Located at Piazza del Duomo, 50122 Florence FI, Italy 🇮🇹. This Cathedral has to be one of the spectacular I have seen. The architecture is out of this world. The Dome is huge, it’s very close I believe to being bigger than the Pantheon but not quite. I could be wrong 🤷. The climb to the Dome and bell tower is absolutely worth it, the view is incredible of Florence and Arno River laid out in front of you. The passages are narrow but it was great. I recommend you purchase tickets to climb early in morning so you beat most of the crowds as it gets extremely crowded and busy. The ascent to the Bell tower is Alina staircase of 414 steps and there’s no lift. Be sure you can manage the climb before you attempt it. People under 18 years can’t access without an adult. The climb to the Dome is 463 steps and again, there’s no lift 🛗. If you suffer from claustrophobia, it’s recommended that you do not attempt to climb. As we were approaching the Cathedral, we’re struck straight away with the grandeur of it. It’s really inspiring. The painting on the Dome was amazing, so detailed. Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the Cathedral of the Catholic archdiocese of Florence. Building commenced in 1296 in the gothic style and was completed in 1436. The Dome was engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The cathedral complex, in Piazza del Duomo, includes the Baptistery and Giotto’s Campanile. These three buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. I bought the Brunelleschi Pass which gave me access to the Dome, Bell Tower, Baptistery, Museum and the Santa Reparata for 3 calendar days for 30€. For a child (0-6 years) it’s FREE. For a child (7-14 years) it’s 13€. It was an amazing experience coming to this cathedral. Very memorable. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍

Magnificent cathedral lots of scaffolding and tarpaulin cover near the dome at the moment. The dome tickets is sold out so book early only. Do not carry big bag or back packs as they are not allowed. There are nearby luggage storage you can hire.

The statue of David is 1000000% worth the wait. Photos don't do its justice. Learning about the history of Michaelangelo's works prior to the statue of David was very interesting. The musical instruments section was also cool to learn about. There's one room dedicated towards the history of the piano, or rather, the "pianoforte". It was so cool! Definitely worth buying tickets for this museum.

The Galleria dell'Accademia di Firenze is a must-see art museum. The Hall of the Prisoners is fascinating and contains the unfinished sculptures of Michelangelo. This hall leads up to the masterpiece that is David. Photos do not do justice to this unbelievable sculpture which was commissioned when Michelangelo was only 26 years old in 1501. It is over 5 metres in height and is simply breathtaking. You cannot visit Florence without seeing this masterpiece.

The Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence is best known as the home of Michelangelo’s David, and seeing it in person is nothing short of breathtaking. The sheer scale and detail of the statue make it one of the most iconic and moving masterpieces in the world of art. Beyond David, the gallery features other Michelangelo works like the Prisoners (or Slaves), unfinished sculptures that give fascinating insight into his creative process. There are also impressive collections of Renaissance paintings, musical instruments, and religious art that often get overshadowed but are absolutely worth exploring. The museum is relatively small, so it’s manageable in under two hours, but lines can be long—booking tickets in advance is highly recommended. The space can feel crowded, especially around David, but the experience is still well worth it. Pros: • Home to the original David by Michelangelo • Other unique Renaissance artworks and sculptures • Manageable size – not overwhelming Cons: • Can get crowded, especially around David • Smaller than other major museums • Limited modern or contemporary art Rating: 9/10 An essential stop in Florence, especially for art lovers. David alone is worth the visit.

I purchased tickets online for a timed entry. When we got there the next day, there was a long line. There were people that were waiting in line that had an earlier entry time. The organization of lining up and allowing them to enter was chaotic. There was a lot of people in the museum. But when you see “David” you forget about all of that. The sculpture is absolutely amazing when you enter the room and you see him down the hall. Michelangelo was an amazing artist. Thus I’m giving it a five star even though we had a time entry in the were multiple lines with a little direction.

The statue of David definitely steals the spotlight—it’s the main event and the crowd knows it. The museum itself is pretty tiny; you might spend more time in the souvenir shop than the actual gallery. Not the easiest place to navigate if you’ve got wheels, though. No need for a tour guide or fancy skip-the-line stuff—just bring your curiosity and maybe a snack for the short wait.

Or course it's a beautiful busy gallery, and it's worth seeing. But you absolutely need to get tickets weeks in advance, Or the only tickets remaining are online from scalpers (tour groups) who charge double or triple for a ticket. (It's a big problem in italy with most galleries) - I did see a line for people without pre bought tickets - but the line for them is about 1.5h unless you get there really early. But regardless of how you get your tickets, it's a gorgeous gallery.

Most Famous Statue in the World !!! This is it! This is THE reason you came to Florence, to see the statue of David by Michelangelo. You do understand when you are here why it is so famous. You could be tempted to dismiss it considering it is 'just another statue' only slightly bigger, etc. But the 'fact of the matter' is that this was done in 1501 to 1504 it took him three years, 521 years ago! Obviously they did not have all the tooling we have today, neither the understanding we have of anatomy, etc. Breaking a piece meant doing it again, so carving David from a piece of marble that big is an incredible achievement. Obviously a few years after (like four from 1508 to 1512) he only did then the Chapel Sistine Ceiling in Rome ! On the museum itself there is Zero wait as long as you have pre-booked your tickets, so make sure you do that as otherwise you might be queuing for hours. This is really worth it, so come and enjoy this masterpiece!

Pleasantly surprised to visit this place during our stints to watch the car races in the Mugello circuit. Went just to pass time but ended up filling the bags with super discounted items. The Spada Roma had wonderful discounts in cappotto and jackets. Lucky that I visited during this time of the year! Will surely get back since it’s just 3 hours drive from Milan

Good place to go for shopping. You can find brands like D&G, Guess, Ralph Lauren, Fendi… and a what not. Check for the ongoing sale going on. The village was beautifully decorated in Christmas theme… must visit. Recommended.

I rate this high because it is one of the most beautiful outlets/malls I have ever visited. With floral installments and a small river flowing through, it was tranquil and a nice contrast to shopping chaos. Lots of designer named stores, plenty of benches and other seating or reading areas. There was covered parking, which was helpful on a hot day.

Make sure to plan your visit here on a sunny day as this is an open sky mall. This place is huge!!! and you need few good hours to spend here to find what you want. There are many places to eat and drink (not cheep) and Lots of parking space. Be sure your legs are ready to walk a lot...It is very organized, clean and spacious. You can find almost any store you and brand you like, with some time affordable prices and discount, some are not cheep. Personally, i wouldn't come here especially if it is not on my route to somewhere else (as we did). Feels a bit like an american mall by it's size. On the day we were visiting it was quiet empty and we couldn't see many locals there. If you are shopping lover, it is a nice experience :)

It’s an interesting tour, especially if Alessandra is your guide! She makes the whole visit a great experience. Keep in mind you need to book in advance, and it is open only during the weekends (at least for now).

A beautiful, masmarising palazzo. The 4/5 are due to visits enabled only with a tourguide and tickets must be booked weeks prior. The info given on the tour was interesting and thorough, with that said, it was laconic and a bit too short (1 h) and very strictly timed in order to avoid laps with other groups.. therfore no time was given to immerse in the scenery of each spot, it was stop-losten-go to next stop sort of tour... the experience could have been more powerful and worthwhile with more time and a more interactive, mindful tourguide.

Beautiful architecture and a splendid collection of old musical instruments. All visits are guided, helping a lot in understanding the incredible and mysterious history of the place. Highly recommended.

Found it while browsing places to visit in the area. We arrived there without reservation, but the lady at the ticket shop squeezed us into a tour with only 15min waiting time - thanks for that! The castle itself is very picturesc, with sometimes unbelievable amounts of details to discover. We enjoyed the stay a lot!

Visually stimulating place in a beautiful locale, with bizarre, fantastical architecture. Be warned though; Unless you want to walk up a long, narrow country road up hill in the sun, you are intirely at the mercy of a bus service that stops about 3 times a day and not at any time that aligners with the castle's admission hours. There is also nowhere to wait once you are up there. Again, the actual place is very interesting but, unless you have a car, you NEED to plan in advance or risk bring stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Located in the outskirts of the metropolitan city of Bologna in the little town of Riola. Amazing views and a truly magnificent structure ritch with history and interesting backstories about it's founder and tenet. A place not to miss if you happen to have some time on your hands and want to explore places around Bologna. Easily accessible by train or by car. If you happen to chose the train you can easily get one from Bologna Central station, you then need to get off at Riola station from which the Rocchetta is just a few minutes by foot up a hill (not too steep).

A remarkable blend of history and legend. This museum isn’t just about the cars—it’s about the journey of Enzo Ferrari, a boy who fell in love with racing and rose to build the most successful racing empire in history. An inspiring tribute to a true visionary.

The museum in Modena is small, gentle and intimate. It is focused on Enzo Ferari and his growth from a young man. It does not have much formula 1 history in it, but it still delivers a rich experience. Its close to the center of town and definitely worth visiting if you are in Modena

The Enzo Ferrari Museum is interesting and worth a visit for car enthusiasts, but it lacks interactive experiences inside. The €27 entry fee feels a bit steep for an exhibition of 10-15 cars. The simulator is fun, but €25 for just 7 minutes in an outdated game is overpriced. It’s a nice experience overall, but it could be better for the cost.

Visited in April, a week before Easter and it wasn't that hectic but during peak periods I recommend to pre-purchase ticket and if you have time, purchase combo ticket with Ferrari Museum in Maranello (costs only a few Euros more and its well worth). This museum revolves more around the life of Enzo Ferrari (the actual workshop and house stairs where his passion started off is the older building) and displaying the Ferrari super cars (F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari etc) along the years with some added cars and details on what it entails to produce such cars. Every 45mins or so, the museum lowers the lights and displays short video on Enzo's life! It's well worth the visit and price particularly if combined with Ferrari Maranello Museum which revolves more on the motorsport (Scuderia) aspect.

What to say? Bornplace of automobile legend. The story started here. They can work with emotions, you are staying there and watch video with history of Enzo. Very emotional. Exposition splited into car exhibition and engines exhibition. Admirer of different car brands, but I have to appreciate this museum.

The museum was very proffecional it had lots of great cars like Nigel Mansells f1 car, the f40, f50, la ferrari and more. The staff was very kind and helpfull. I really recomend this museum to anyone who likes cars.

I love Motorsports. The museum is okay but not worth $30 to enter. There’s 2 sides, the house which displays information, then the bigger showroom.

Amazing piece of history. Greatly preserved, representing what has been made throughout the centuries. Always polite and smiled hosted on every corner and in every culture place that can be visited officially. Definitely deserves to be visited as a part of any Bologna vacation trip.

This huge 15th century square, is impressive with its Basilica and Palazzo, its fountain and the many little alleys that run off it, great for resting up awhile and soaking up the sights.

Lots to see and do around this area. Stand in the middle of it and turn around to appreciate many medieval buildings. You must go inside the Basilica of San Petronio! It’s free, however, donations to maintain the building are much appreciated. The Archiginnasio Palace & Anatomical Theatre is absolutely stunning - tickets must be pre booked to avoid disappointment. Piazza Maggiore is always lovely. There are usually musicians there who take turns playing to the crowds. I was lucky to be there right before Easter and the church was lit up and a choir was outside, along with musicians. It was amazing.

Lovely spot — surprisingly not too crowded during our visit. This open medieval square offers a refreshing change of pace in a city that can sometimes feel a bit tight and busy. A peaceful breath of fresh air, both literally and figuratively.

Visiting during Christmas as just like you own this place! No tourist. Only few people hanging around in the perfect weather. The church is really interesting inside with no fee to entrance.

We have visited on a Sunday and to our surprise there was an antique market taking place. The square was busy and is surrounded with cafe's, restaurants and the famous Santo Stefano known as the seven churches as there so many buildings joined together.

Unfortunately the towers have recently been closed due to safety reasons. So now you can only admire from the street. They are beautiful though and hopefully they can be restored so people can walk up them again. They are fun though and are slightly leaning. Great view from the street.

Really enjoyed this. For €5 you can’t beat it. I did the 10am (first) entry. Was super quick. In and out in 20 minutes. Definitely not accessible. I think the first tour is the best because the stairs are narrow and you have people traversing both ways. Whereas the first tour you go up and no one is attempting to come down. Look through the holes in the stone - they are great view points from the stairs. Buy tickets online in advance - they limit the amount of people every 15 minutes.

I expected more, the castle is enjoyable but half of the exhibition is empty rooms with too much text on the infoboards. Still recommended if you are in town tho. The temporary exhibitions were really good!

This is in the centre of Ferrara and still retains its moat and its 16th century appearance. It is actually a huge castle/palace that was the seat for the Dukes of Ferrara for two hundred years and was then the seat of the Papal Legate for another three hundred. We crossed the drawbridge and paid the €10 entrance although I got the 48 hour museum pass for €20 which gave me access to 10 city museums. The first thing we noticed in the castle was the magnificent painted ceilings, not in every room but quite a few. They varied in style from frescoes to whatever you call painting inside a wooden framework of ceiling beams. The dungeons were impressive too, definitely a style I would bring back in for repeat or serious offenders! We climbed the stairs and saw the wonderful citrus garden on the terrace, designed by Eleanor of Aragon to remind her of Naples. This had great views over the moat but I messed those photos up. Deb then sat and chilled whilst I climbed the Lion's Tower. I don't think I have ever hated vertigo more as it is such a stupidly irrational think but just so powerful. The steps were like metal fire escape stairs so you could see through them, all the way down, as you climbed and they creaked away. I think there were 6 levels to the tower and the only exit was at the top so I dread to think what my heart rate was by the time I got there. The views were obviously good but I couldn't take advantage of them as I didn't want to get anywhere near the edge. My brain knew the castle had stood 700 years so it was all fine but it was also telling me that it had been damaged be earthquakes, fires and allied bombing in WW2 so was basically an accident waiting to happen. I went back down the stairs on very rubbery legs and finally reached the next part of the tour. Luckily no one else was on the stairs when I went up or down. We saw more amazing ceilings and read more information - the displays in the castle all had English versions and told of the architecture of the city, draining the nearby swamps to reclaim the land, town planning, the history of the Dukes, the artists involved in beautifying the castle, the earthquakes etc, a really fabulously informative selection.

An impressive castle with beautiful frescoes (sadly sime of them not in a very good condition). The dungeons were really eerie. View over Ferrara from the tower was lovely. Staff was helpful and nice, even though not everyone spoke much English.

Amazing visit to the Estense Castle. Magnificent building right in the historical centre of Ferrara. The visit took about 2.30h as I like to read everything but you can also get an audio guide if you prefer. There was no waiting line for the tickets and I just bought them at the ticket office when I arrived. Very museum is very organised and you really feel that you've seen the whole castle. It's nice to learn about the Este family and their rivalry to the Medicis. There were 2 extra exhibitions when we visited: Maurizio Bottoni and Antonio Maria Nardi, which were a very nice addition to the trip. You can choose to buy the ticket that gives you access to the tower for a view point of beautiful Ferrara.

Impressive castle with lots of towers, niches, drawbridges, gateways and a moat in the city centre. Especially nice on a November morning when there were bary any people around

I came to Ferrara just to see this place, the first Italian castle i have ever been to, and i have to say, it's ok, but nothing special. The castle itself is massive and true to the style of Italian castles. I would even say it's very beautiful on the outside. The view from the top of the tower was also great. The staff throughout the castle were very kind and helpful. However, the reason behind the 3-star review is what's inside the castle. Basically, there was so little. If you want written information, there is quite a lot of that, but very little to show in terms of physical objects. It was just room after room of emptiness and some poorly maintained ceiling paintings and other stuff. Had it not been for the view from the tower, i would have probably considered it not even worth visiting on the inside unless you realllly want to know about the history.

We ordered the room trough Booking and got totally different room - smaller ofcourse. With terrace that is locked with two locks. So you pay for a spacious room and get a tiny room in the attic. When we wanted to sort things out with the owner he/she? (They dont answer the phone, comunicate only via whatsapp text messages) told us that booking is mixing pictures which is not true. Anyways the owners manners were absolutely horrific, he in fact told us to leave him alone.. There are many better acomodations in Ferrara, please support them. People running this place are the worst.

I'am very disapointed with this acomodation. I feel cheated and disgusted. We booked this acomodation via booking and unfortunatelly did not checked the reviews on google. The acomodation is something absolutely different than what we saw on booking pictures. Also there should be tereace which is locked, dirty and behind the grids. The acomodation is totally not matching the photos and hosts actions and communications is behind any boundaries of good manners. I definitely do not recommend it.

Although I found this on a day use hotel website they claim they're not. After calling and trying to reach them to get a better proper answer they just hang up the phone or don't answer it. I came to Ferrara to have a rest here on purpose and now have no where to go. The minimum is to answer the phone or door! Been standing outside ringing the bell and nothing. Dear team be careful where you put your business! Thank you , hope that help and now I'm just going to take a nap in the street , thanks to amazing professionalism.

One of the worst hotels I've ever been to. They have the central A/C system and they set it to 25°. Do you call that A/C? Had to complain several times to set it to 21°. The bed was really bad. It makes a very disturbing noise every time you move. After changing the towels, they provided just one big towel for two people. Extremely disappointed.

Nice, plain architecture with a beautiful terrace looking over the main square of the city. It's a shame that you have to get an additional ticket for different exhibitions to see the inside of the building.

Honestly, the basilica was disappointing for me. I expected a large and beautiful building, and instead I just got a weird exhibition space that could easily be mistaken for anything else. Plus, the orientation around the building was super confusing - definitely a few pointers would come in handy. On the other hand, the terasse you can just sit down and chill at and look over the town centre is super stunning and kind of makes up for it.

Tickets for all city museums are sold here. Not at those museums. Go to those museums and you won’t be able to enter without first making your way to the Basilica to buy your ticket. It’s ridiculous. And there are no convenient taxi stands in the centre. Nor is there a tourist information kiosk at the train station. Vicenza is truly the capital of stupid.

This was the prettiest location in Vicenza. I look forward to coming back during the Christmas season. We arrived early and it was filled with vendors selling all kinds of items. The Palladian Basilica is a very important piece in the history of the western world. It was actually named a basilica by Andrea Palladio, the designer of its arched porches, to honor the roman empire basilicas, where people would gather to trade goods and hold meetings. Apart from being an architectural masterpiece, the basilica has a lot of very pleasant cafes and restaurants, both at the ground floor, and at the top terrace, and it is also visitable in the second part of the day (except the great hall at the piano nobile). The great hall at the first floor is like a big wooden ark/ship turned on its head. One of the most magnificently grandiose interior spaces in the history of the western world.

Expensive for what it is, the Basilica is nonetheless a beautiful way to spend half an hour. There is a large indoor hall with a balcony and bar with a great view over the square above it. When I visited there was an architecture exhibition in the hall, nothing about the hall itself though...

Wow what an amazing piece of history. You can smell the ast when you walk in this building and hear the creaking actual the spectators entered through. It’s incredibly well maintained and the staff were very knowledgeable about the history of this sacred site. The optical illusions they used to create depth is really mind blowing, it looks like the stage goes back for miles but really it’s only a dozen meters. If you like history or theater, definitely post a visit’

Prato della Valle is a huge square in Padua. My wife and I were here on a Saturday when a big fair was taking place. There were a lot of people. They were walking around the fair or resting by the canal and looking at the many statues. These represent important figures from the history of Padua. A very beautiful sight.

Amazing Basilica. I have been praying to St. Anthony since I was a small child and feel an affinity with him. It was very powerful to see his town, read more about St. Anthony, see his relics, and touch his tomb. Padua is a beautiful city with a rich history. This is so worth a visit.

What an amazing little Chapel. This was one of the many highlights of our visit to Padova. Purchase your tickets online before you go. We enjoyed the introductory video as we didn't know much about Giotto. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The museum and displays on the grounds are also very interesting. But the Chapel is the star of the show. It is simply amazing that this was done in the early 1300s and is still so vibrant. I am so happy that they have a system to keep it beautiful as well.

Beautiful experience, especially as art and art history students who have been studying this chapel for years! Honestly a surreal experience. Students definitely should get their student card because it was a lot cheaper for us to go in! That said, it is definitely better to book the tickets beforehand to avoid the wait. But if you do buy the tickets there, you can go around the archeological museum there to make the time go by faster~ The staff was also very friendly and super helpful!! An overall wonderful experience even if we only spent 15 minutes inside the chapel.

Best place to admire the beautiful Venetian architecture! Definitely a must-see! Use one of the Gondolas for an authentic experience, but if you're exploring Venice on a budget, I suggest getting an ACTV public transport pass and taking Linea 1 from Arsenale along the Canal Grande to P.le Roma or vice versa :)

Beautiful plaza, absolutely stunning and in a perfect location. I noticed they had temporary platforms made in case of flooding, which must happen regularly. The water level varies quite a lot depending on how much rain there has been. Construction work was going on adding interesting night reflections for fun.

St. Mark’s Square is everything you imagine when you think of Venice — grand, elegant, and full of life. In the early morning, before the crowds arrive, the square feels almost magical. Watching the gondolas gently swaying in the water with the soft light of the rising sun is a memory I’ll never forget. As the day goes on, the square quickly fills with tourists, and it’s good to be prepared for the typical “tourist traps” — many restaurants here are quite expensive compared to the rest of the city. But even with the crowds, there’s no denying that St. Mark’s Square is a timeless symbol of Venice’s beauty and charm. A visit here is absolutely essential — just try to come early to experience a quieter, more enchanting side of this iconic place.

Visiting Venice in march was a good idea at least because of the number of the number of tourists, otherwise I think we wouldn't have been so lucky on the tiny streets of this old and beautiful town. We also had 2 days of rain, but that couldn't keep us inside :) . If you want to have a nice experience it's best to reserve at least 1 month before the tickets for museums(you get a discount) , and buy a city pass, especially if you plan to stay more than 3-4 days . Visit Murano, Burano for a complete experience :)

Had an amazing time spending the day at St.Mark's Square with my wife! the architecture throughout was spectacular. Many great shops & restaurants to choose from. And oh...The Gelato! Yum!! The ambiance was incredible. My wife and I had a large brunch and there was an amazing band playing and walking through the cafe' for all to enjoy. Thad made for a beautiful romantic dining experience. The staff throughout the plaza were all very friendly and accommodating! The items in the area shops were very cool as well. Of course we had to go up in the tower to take in the fantastic panoramic views of Venice! Piazza San Marco was definitely one of the many great experiences of our trip. If you visit Venice, I highly recommend giving some time to visit this wonderful site.

Obviously I am a bit of a history buff and I love thinking whilst standing here, specially really early in the morning that Columbus, and others were here to looking out at the sea. The are not many plaza in the world which have that much history, it is eternal and never outdated as it is so unique. You would be here 500 years ago, and it would be strictly the same (except you would be drinking wine or beer but no coffee, as not yet discovered).

Truly the heart of Venice and absolutely stunning. Surrounded by incredible architecture like St. Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile and Doge’s Palace, this square is full of history and atmosphere. It’s lively, grand, and perfect for people-watching or just soaking in the Venetian vibe. Yes, it can get crowded and touristy, but it’s one of those places you just have to experience. Come early in the morning or later in the evening for a more peaceful feel. Timeless and unforgettable.

Piazza San Marco is absolutely stunning—one of the most iconic places I've ever been. The mix of beautiful architecture, live music from the cafés, and the vibe of the whole square is just amazing. You’re surrounded by landmarks like St. Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile, and it all feels like stepping into a postcard. Yes, it gets busy (especially mid-day), but it's 100% worth it. Try to come early in the morning or around sunset—way more peaceful and the light makes everything look magical. Pro tip: grabbing a drink at one of the cafés can be pricey, but the view and atmosphere make it worth the splurge at least once. Highly recommend taking your time here. Don’t just snap a photo and leave—soak it in!

This is an ancient palace in ancient Venice know for it's architecture and beauty. Located next to Saint Mark's cathedral. Not to miss this one if you are a history and art fan. I didn't have time to go in as I am not really into these subjects. However it is advised to make a visit. Entrance is chargeable but it's worth going in .

A MUST-SEE experience in Venice. Absolutely gorgeous palace, with gorgeous ceiling paintings, intricate ornaments and a deep history. The layout of the museum takes you through the entire palace, golden staircase, through the bridge of sighs, and down into the prisons. Lots of walking and staircases, but it's absolutely worth it. 10/10 recommended

This palace is an absolute must when you visit Venice. It is absolutely beautiful and enormous. It took us so long to get around but it was well worth it! The way to get in was not too long considering we did buy tickets in advance and the price was not too much either. The architecture inside is amazing and a must see!!!

I absolutely love the architecture of Doge’s Palace. The design is stunning, with intricate details and a beautiful blend of styles. Although I didn’t go inside, the exterior is impressive enough to leave a lasting impression. Doge’s Palace served as the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Venetian Republic. It also housed the government offices, courtrooms, and even prisons, playing a central role in the city’s political and administrative life.

Super wonderful experience! Breathtaking halls with so many beautiful canvasses. Some things were closed when we went but it was still a worthwhile experience. We didn't have advance tickets and saw that it was sold out online but we were able to line up for tickets and the line moved pretty fast. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the end of March and were pretty surprised we were able to get in.

Lovely walk around this afternoon. Note - if you've pre-booked tickets that have no set time on then these are only valid after 12! We didn't know this so had to rearrange our morning plans. The palace is lovely, lots of walking and you can make it as long or as short as you'd like. There are a lot of steps up and down involved so if that is not your thing it's probably better to give this a miss. The rooms are incredible with high ceilings with incredible artwork and the prison walk is fab! Our ticket came with other museum access which made it better value 🙌🏼✨

This basilica is an absolute must see when you visit Venice. Its interior is beautiful and sort of gothic interior themed. We book tickets online prior but the line was not too long to get in anyway and you are welcome to stay in as long as you want to view the inside. It is an absolutely stunning piece of architecture and history. Even the outside is such a monument.

What an amazing place! We booked tickets in advance which is a good idea, but there weren't any lines today so we could have just walked up. However, it's early in the season and there are no cruise ships in town. Don't risk it - book ahead. My advice is to book the extras (golden altar and museum / rooftop / horses). Also get the audio guide at the entrance for 7 euros and bring your own headphones to plug into the device.

Grand & Impressive Basilica! This is one the most famous Basilica's in Italy or in the world. Really nice and unique, the architecture is everything. It is very different than others in Europe. Well worth the fame & recognition, we enjoyed coming here with my family, specially during Carnaval. This is a truly memorable experience highly recommended to all!

This is the oldest cathedral in Venice and probably one of the oldest in the Italy. The outside of the cathedral has an elegant look to show the vibrant history of the ancient Venice. The building is painted with wall colorful frescoes and intricate designs. It is simply amazing. I didn't have chance to go in as it was crowded and the line was quite lengthy. But I believe it must be worth going in to witness the beauty from the inside.

One of the more beautiful churches I’ve been in, and I’ve been in quite a few across Europe. The entire inside is covered in gold and mosaics. We booked late and so had to join a guided tour - I don’t think it added much, but try to get tickets to see the original Roman horse statues and have access to the balcony. On the outside, be sure to check out the original Roman statue of the tetrarchs. If you’re Catholic like us, you can attend Mass here (free but in Italian of course); check online or with one of the guides for times. For Saturday vigil Mass we went in the side door. It was way less crowded than during standard opening hours and you can sit in the middle, which is usually roped off. I love a good organ, and the organist was very good, but it almost felt off in such a Byzantine space. Chant would seem more appropriate.

Every inch of this building is a work of art. Each time on my tour around Italy I would think I had just witnessed the most spectacular building I had ever seen and then I would get to the next destination and see something even more beautiful than I thought possible. What is so special about St. Mark's Basilica is the thousands of square feet of the Mosaics and not one very large impressive dome, but three. We opted to pay to go up to the exhibit and outside to view the horses and other statues that were on the roof above the main entrance. The exhibit was very well done with many works of art, silk and gold thread tapestries that were hundreds of years old, and a lot of historical information about the Basilica. This tour offered unobstructed views of the mosaics domes at a much closer and much less crowded area. And to go out on the roof and see the horses and the square on a beautiful day will be one of my favorite memories of the tour. A not to be missed destination.

Absolute marvellous. It's the charm of venice city. Very populous, renowned and filled with tourists all the time. Roue 2 of water boat transportation is quite frequent and another spot in the city for shopping lovers. Indeed the place proves to be " The city of love..."

You can get English or Italian audio guide to the museum which locates downstairs of a bar. The layout of the display cabinets were a bit confusing but the audios were very detailed. It was interesting and worth spending part of the afternoon there. After the museum, I suggest the outdoor seating at the bar because it has one of the most stunning views of River Brenta from there.
