Great place for kids and ice cream lovers! There is a theater that shows how to make ice cream. And the ice cream is not expensive for great amount!

My dad and I stopped in for an afternoon tour of the Wells Visitor Center and an ice cream treat. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the Wells Corporation and it's history in the world of ice cream and Le Mars, IA. The exhibits are interactive and the ice cream is fresh. I opted to get an ice cream cone with the iconic bunny tracks ice cream flavor - it hit the spot! Do yourself a favor and make sure to stop by the ice cream parlor and visitor's center when in the region.

It's an ice cream store inside a museum with a rooftop view and a kids activity center and a gift shop!! Crazy - and I loved it!! I was here about five years ago and it's so much improved now! I recommend the cinnamon ice cream and the lemon sorbet

Being a huge ice cream fan (have some almost every night before bed), I couldn't wait to visit this place after hearing it was the Ice Cream Capital of the World. We finally had a chance during a recent trip home when we had a little extra time to spare. The building was modern, clean and full of energetic employees and the ice cream was delicious (see pictures). There was a great gift store to complement the ice cream counter as well as a small media center / showhall that shows a history of the family and company (see pictures). If you have the opportunity to swing a little out of the way on your trip up I-29, I highly recommend a quick stop in this quaint little town. Cool place. Love Wells ice cream. Serving sizes are quite generous here but appropriate given the prices. Nice display on the second floor and gift shop has some nice offerings.

Great tasting ice cream! It was a fun little visit on our road trip. The upstairs offers a little history of Blue Bunny Ice cream and interactive stations for kids. It's truly a great place to check out!

Rigged roulette wheel. 12 blacks in a row as I bet only red. 18 of 19 in a row were black. This is statistically one in billions. Please explain how this is possible. Took pictures of all data and reported to state gaming commission. I am have a math degree and would be happy to show how your game cannot be random.

I had my great pleasures with my friends here. The restroom was clean, nice, and polite staff. Everyone was happy and fun. Many options for foods, games, We will be back.

Both casino restrooms were closed. Beverage stations also closed. Not sure who wants to go outside to mobile facilities to use restroom. Should have done one, not both at a time. Hand sanitizer would be nice if no running water. This location rarely has hot water in restrooms-hopefully that is addressed.

Absolutely pathetic customer service by security. The Website said their RV Park is now open which is just a parking lot with RV hook-ups. I was well aware of the accommodations and fine with that since I'm just there to gamble, drink, and eat. Anyway, I parked and plugged into the electricity. I then went to Check-in with security as the website says to do. The 20 something security guard stated the RV parking lot is closed and there isn't electricity. I explained that I was parked in that lot and I was already plugged into electricity and it was working. I was then told by another security guard that they would just go un-plug me. They wouldn't give me a reason why the lot was closed even though there was a semi tractor parked in it. Maybe that driver of that rig didn't check-in with Security and didn't have to deal with their arrogance.

Hard to rate a casino higher than 3 stars when the "Penny" machines aren't even close to a penny anymore. To be fair there's have always been multipliers but you could still enjoy an hour on $30 or $40. Now to win anything it's at least.75cents and in my last 4 visits ( over thatany years) I've found 1 machine that had "features/bonuses" that made it exciting and trust me I look. Also... with ALL that said they no longer offer free beverages while playing. It's always left a bad taste in my mouth to lose $20 at a casino but I was good with it because $20 for an hour out of the house and 1 or 2 free cocktails was worth it.

Do you wanna win some money or lose some money? This is the place it’s awesome. You get a free beverage all day. You have to pay for alcohol and I believe you can smoke but it’s cool.

Luck is in it's name! Love this place each and everytime I go, even in a loss, it's not outweighed by the gain, and I sure do go back, poker is great, high limit slots are fast fun, table games are always with added dealer entertainers, making my stay longer, and the atmosphere is free so spirited, how can you not come here!?

This is a great historical site. There is an educational Lewis and Clark video in the visitor center before the bridge. The bridge is really cool to walk across, and you can be in two places at once (Iowa and Nebraska)😉. My kids really enjoyed looking out at the Missouri River and meandering across the bridge. They also loved that it was called Bob's Bridge. There are some picnic tables available on either side of the bridge, but there are only readily available bathrooms in the visitor center on the Nebraska side.

Heard about this pedestrian bridge from a YouTube video while planning a cross country trip. Took about an hour to walk the bridge and the surrounding area as part of a midday break from driving. Great view of the Omaha area the Missouri River. Would recommend seeing it if you’re in the area.

This place is great, very close to Luminarium and river front park. We were here with two kids, they had a lot of fun playing in the park in front of Luminarium, the riverfront park has a sand area to hang out without shoes. Highly recommend to visit for a free fun time

The wife wanted to check this park out so off we went. Upon arriving, it's nice, clean, not very busy at all. They have a giant statue made of tin foil which was pretty cool. We then made our way to the bridge. At the top is where the Nebraska/Iowa state line is. Pretty nice view. I've been to alot of parks so I've seen more interesting parks but it was still pretty cool to be standing in 2 states at once. Not often you get a chance like that. If I find myself back in the area, I'd stop back for a quick walk. It would be a pretty awesome running trail if I was a local. But overall, not a bad little park!!

There was a kite festival on April 5th and 6th, my family was lucky to be there to see all the kites flying big and small. I enjoyed the crowd and kids playing and flying kites.

Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. An easy hike, beautiful scenery you can stand in two states at one time Nebraska , Iowa. This is something everybody should do incredibly fun.

This is the best over all zoo we have ever been to! It has so many different animals and the kids splash park is incredible! The food prices are honestly reasonable and the food is pretty good as well. So much stuff for the kids to do they get excited every time we go. We usually go 4-6 times a year and it’s always the same excitement and tired kids T the end of the trip! One time we were there and ran into a gentlemen taking photos he mentioned that he takes photos for a living and had been to pretty much every zoo in the US and he said the Omaha zoo was far and away the best zoo he’s ever been too!

The best zoo in the world. Give yourself all day, or better yet, two. Where to start? The Jungle, the Aquarium, or the Gorilla's? Little kids will love the gorilla's as they love to sit and engage with little kids. Oh, and so do the sea lions. Don't miss the sea lion presentation. Oh but then there are the giraffes and the elephants! Bring a lunch, drinks, and snacks. You will need them. Yes, there are plenty of food booths that are open during the "season," but you will wait in line and spend more money than you want. Although Dipping dots, a GIANT pretzel is worth it. There are a lot of playground areas for the kids to unwind (and parents) if they are tired of animals. Best day to go during the summer. MON-WED.

Just went this morning with my mother and daughter, not knowing what to expect after the mini blizzard yesterday. We had scheduled a golf cart tour of the zoo and still wanted to get it in before my daughter and I fly back to Florida tomorrow. Our guide, Laura, was absolutely amazing. She was nice enough to provide blankets for the subzero temperatures at the start of the tour and her knowledge of everything at the zoo was impeccable, right down to the Big A** brand ceiling fans in the elephant/giraffe houses. Very patient with my teenaged 5.5 year old. Thank you so much for that! The Desert Dome, Aquarium, and ButterFly houses were great and very interactive for the kiddo, allowing her to leave happy even though there wasn’t much in the way of outside exhibits because of yesterday’s weather (the sea lions and seals put on an impromptu show, though!). Thanks again, Laura!

What an awesome zoo experience! Our family went on a busy Saturday morning but found the Zoo to be very accessible to see all of the animals. The giraffes, gorillas, and other animals were right there! Plus, with an Aquarium, it feels like two places in one.

Amazing place: their swamp, jungle and aquarium are fantastic. We visited during spring break, so a lot of animals were inside, but you can see elephants, giraffes and gorillas inside. You can easily spent 5 hours here. Bring snacks, definitely bring stroller / wagon.

The best zoo you can go to, ginormous so make sure to wear your walking shoes. Every time we go (3rd time) our daughter never gets tired getting a new experience. We love it here

Wonderful zoo with many displays and a variety of animals. The information provided with every display is written in an elementary form so every age group can easily understand it. Lighting is good. Each building is designed and laid out nicely. The workers at the front gate were very friendly. Nice gift stores.

The place where the only person who died as a member of the Corps of Discovery was buried. Overlooks the Missouri River, and serves as a monument to the legacy of those brave souls who ventured into a world unknown.

The entrance to this monument is off of old US Highway 75. There is an upper and lower parking lot. The lower parking lot has bathroom facilities access. There is also a small picnic shelter, and other open their picnic tables in the lower parking lot area. Behind the monument, to the west, there is a short trail to a scenic overlook of the Missouri river. The monument is handicapped accessible; however, to get right up to the gates surrounding the monument, you will need to go up six steps without a handrail available. The monument is not handicapped accessible in the last 10 feet extending outward from the surrounding gates.

Free to see and visit. Able to do a self-guided tour and read most of the signs, vandals have made it hard with those on the overlook. No wait, no tickets, picnic and grass area down below.

A must visit for any Lewis and Clark history buff. The spot where Sergeant Floyd was buried during the Lewis and Clark expedition. The site is well maintained and has several informative signs around the site concerning his death and the exhibition. You can really get a good feel for the history as you stand in the same spot as Lewis and Clark.

Nice monument, obelisk and some plaques, to commemorative Seargent Floyd from the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was the only person to die on the expedition. Neat little area, great view of the Missouri River and Nebraska. A bit noisy with the highway close by. Ample and easy parking.

We were staying the night in Sioux City Iowa and our sunset was wonderful at Floyd’s Bluff on the Missouri River where Sgt. Charles Floyd was buried. He was the first US soldier to die west of the Mississippi while on the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Floyd was born in Kentucky around 1782 and in 1804 he became ill while traveling with the famous explorers. He was buried on the Bluff of the Missouri River.

Well, I gotta say, that Sergeant Floyd Monument down in Sioux City is somethin' else! It's like a little brother to the Washington Monument, and that's just neat as a jar of pickles on a hot summer day. I reckon it's a real fine piece of work, honorin' Sergeant Floyd and all, and it sure does make a feller proud to be from the USA. Five stars? Heck, I'd give it six if I could!

This museum is wonderful and Amanda ( one of the staff ) was so friendly and informative. She managed to get my pre teen interested! The gift shop staff are amazing. The exhibit and the connection to the local culture were exciting. The outdoor sculptures and garden had my daughter and myself enthusiastic. We had a wonderful time!

Very nice museum.What a great way to teach history. Very engaging and entertaining. I got a visitors' journal and traveled through time with the Levis &Clark expedition. Very well done! Also lots of facts about Sioux City.

Very very nice. We enjoyed the activities and the statues. The visitor’s journal was a nice touch for kids and big kids. It is also the home of an art gallery and other info on Native Americans

Took my kids here to look around. It was very interesting and had a lot of fun with the interactive parts, like building a log cabin and getting the boat to balance. I was able to take a couple of pictures of books they have in their little library to look for at the public library. The employees were very nice and helpful. We also enjoyed walking around the garden path seeing the statues and looking at the flowers.

Went there as a kid, and now I've gotten ti take my nieces. It was their first museum trip that day. Loved all the new additions.

This place was fantastic! So much more informative than some of the other L&C places (maybe we haven’t been to most?). Anyway, this had a LOT of exhibits and explanations of why, where, and what happened during the journey. Nice layout inside with “talking” men telling us about their journey. There was a terrific statue outside that really was dramatic.

Very cool place to learn about the Lewis and Clark expedition through interactive engagement. The workers were super friendly and helpful to make sure that our experience there was maximized! Definitely recommend for families of all ages.

Took a lovely albeit hot day trip to Arbor Day Farm on Tuesday with the first stop being the Apple House Market. 2 wine flights and a hard cider flight were treat at $10 each plus a free glass with the wine flights. Tried the peach, cherry, honeycrisp, apple pie, rose and edelweiss and all were delicious, although the sweet and light peach was the winner on a hot day. Spiced apple, cherry, sangria and joy harvest ciders were wonderful also. Spiced apple was our favorite of those. Bonus, you can get your drinks/bottle of wine/growler of hard cider and take with while you explore the whole farm including the tree adventure. Grabbed a bite from Porters BBQ and I have to say it was some of the best around. Pulled pork sandwich came with choice of chips and we added on the mac n cheese and baked beans. The pork was smoked just right and came on a delightful buttery bun that really pulled the sandwich together. 3 sauce choices, original, Carolina and a spicy. The original was good but the spicy was top pick. Just enough heat without killing the taste buds. Mac n cheese was seasoned well and cheesy with a good cheese pull on that first fork full. The baked beans stole the show for us. A smoky chili heavy sauce that was soupier than most places with beans and plenty of huge burnt ends to fill you up. A big bowl of those with cheese and diced onions in the fall could rival most bowls of chili anywhere else. My partner liked them better than Q39's beans if that means anything. Finished the trip with a visit to the Tree Adventure $14 for adults, $12 for kids 3 -12. Kids and adults alike can have plenty of fun exploring the grounds with things to climb on, slide down and be creative. The tree house village was a blast! Although I suggest you keep your hands free cause some of those walkways between the houses are no joke! We had the wondernet in the center to ourselves and bounced and laid back to enjoy the view. There is a section that is wheelchair accessible also. Only about an hour away from most of the metro and a wonderful get away from the hustle bustle.

This was so much fun! We are just in town for a short visit and it was worth it just to stop at this farm. The trails are neat and well kept, tons of shade so even though it was upset 90's when we visited we still had plenty of reprievefrom the sun. My kiddos ages 3 & 5 loved trying to guess what animal left the tracks in the cement path, as well as all the wonderful fun play equipment along the way. The loved the little zipline, giant spider web, and of course the giant tree house and all of its rope bridges. Definitely stop here if you're passing through!

Apples trees galore. They even have a late 1800s mansion on the grounds to tour. The farm has a nice gift store along with a great little barbecue place. The farm has days where you can go and pick your own apples, check their website for dates. Arbor Day farm also has an area called "treetop village. It costs $14 for adults, $12 for children 3–12 and children 2 and under is for free. The area is fun even for adults. It has a very nice lookout point along with some great wobbly suspension bridges. 😀 They also have some cool slides as well. The trails around the area, are well kept up with and very beautiful. They have a very whimsical feel to them and there are a few gnomes out and about. 😉 I even saw a deer while I was out walking trails. If you are here to visit, you can stay at the Lied Lodge on the grounds. I had just walked through the lodge and it looked nice inside. I can't tell you much about the pricing or what kind of amenities they have.

A fantastic place to visit for all ages! We loved the beautiful grounds, historic barns, apple-related food and beverages, the farmers market, and craft fair as part of the annual applejack festival in Nebraska City. Everyone was so friendly and excited to be there. It appeared that there was ample off street parking for passenger vehicles. We had a larger RV, so we opted to walk over via Doug’s Trail from Lied Lodge. It was a perfect way to experience nature on the way over, in addition to cool stuff on the farm itself. I bought a bottle of Arbor Day Farm apple cider and it was amazing! My dad loved the apple toffee. Overall, its a worthwhile experience even if you don’t visit during the annual festival.

Had a wonderful time doing the couples night wine tasting! The ladies hosting were fantastic! All their suggestions for the wines were on point! We loved them so much we had to go down to the store and grab some bottles to go! I highly recommend doing this if you’re a couple wanting a calm evening away from the hustle and bustle of a normal date night.

We took our 1 yo and 2 yo and loved it. They have clean indoor bathrooms with step stools for the kids. They have such a fun music playground and of course the amazing tree bridge village! I wish we lived closer so that we could more!

Hike into the heart of the forest on the 2/3-mile South Table Creek Trail with rustic timber bridges and scenic vistas.

A great museum with a wide variety of musical instruments and culture history. Hands oh displays and instruments, videos and a jukebox. Very educational, fun and we are looking forward to the upstairs addition. The admission price was decent, we're a family of 8 and we spent less than $40. Nice little gift shop and free postcards with different kinds of instruments on them.

It's already a nice looking place on the outside, especially the inside. There are many instruments to look at in the museum, my personal favorite was the Vietnam Era Guitar but other than that there's many more instruments, some from the past and some more modern instruments to look at!

Excellent music museum. My only complaint is not enough violins - but they are expanding to a second floor eventually, so I’m guessing they’ll add violins then. Lots of pianos, harpsichords, guitars, brass instruments, and the very cool gamelan.

Bar none, the most well thought out museum we have ever toured, regardless of genre. Don't let the fact that more than half of it still being off limits while under renovation dissuade you. Rather, that makes it easier to digest in bite-sized pieces as you will want to return again and again. Take your time and read every placard. As you do, you will realize you don't want to miss a single line of information. The interactive elements are fantastic as well.

Very interesting and impressive collection of instruments A recent renovation (first floor now open) makes it very accessible and easy to navigate. We brought a traveling choir and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth a visit. Plan 60-90 minutes.

I really enjoyed getting to visit this museum as I am a big music lover and am fascinated by the history of music and instruments. This museum even had a few instruments that I did recognize, which was fascinating to learn about for the first time. They have an awesome self-guided audio/video tour. They also have some famous artists instruments and movie props. I think this museum is a must see for anyone who likes music!

I rented a cabin and really enjoyed it! As someone else had mentioned, it is helpful to bring your own kitchen faves. The kitchen is stocked, but pan choices were slim, no kitchen towels, and coffee cups were plastic. The cabin itself was great with more than adequate furniture, bedding, pillows, BR towels, and blankets. Hiking trails were throughout the park. Many things were closed after Labor Day. I didn't mind because it was quiet.

We have always enjoyed Mahoney! We have camped there with our travel trailer and we stayed in cabin 3 this past week d. We loved the coz cabin and the Murphy bed in the living room so we could enjoy the fireplace later in the night. And Carl’s At Mahoney had the best food, drinks and service!

I hiked the concrete trail and some dirt trails. Some of the trails were still closed because of the trees down. I did 5.67 miles 1 hr 55 mins. There is a lot to do here. Ride horses, play grounds, miniature golf, paddle boats, swimming, Frisbee golf, zip lines, and cabin rentals. At the lodge their is a restaurant. All the restrooms are very nice, all plumbing.

Nice recreational park with a variety of lodging opportunities. We stayed in the campground which was clean and well maintained. There is also a “lodge” with restaurant and “cabins” that are more like houses. The park really shines with its activities including a water park, which was easily large enough to spend a hot day at. Outdoor ropes course, Indoor climbing area, mini-golf, and ranger programs are also offered. It is a large park with walking/biking trails in excellent condition. Don’t forget to check out the observation tower on the far side of the park for some great views!There are some areas that could use a bit of TLC, like the hiking trails and marina, but are still very usable. One important note, all activities require a Nebraska park permit which can be purchased at the gate. Great location that is located between Lincoln and Omaha, the SAC Air and Space museum and a wildlife park are also located very close.

Used this as a weekday getaway with sister. It was off season so very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the cabin and found several things to do in the area. Would definitely go again.

This was an okay place to post up for a few days and wait out some weather. Road noise and train horns were pretty regular occurrences at the campground. Spot was nice and level. Good spacing between sites

Mahoney State Park is close to perfect. If you can’t find something fun or interesting to do here—well, you just aren’t trying. On the other hand, a stay at the cabins is a great way to just unwind and de-stress while observing the forest and wildlife. I tell people that it offers something for everyone. Check it out!

This museum has a Cafe and bathrooms at the entrance, along with a place to hang your outer garments. When you take the escalator or elevator, all mobility accessible, then you have two hangers to choose from to experience aviation specimens and their history. This museum tries to appeal to multiple ages by having interactive places for children and informative plaques for adults. We schedule 2 hrs for our first visit but needed three hours. Also has a gift shop to take home some fun for those with big imaginations. Bathrooms are clean and their own "experience " with drinking fountains at both. There is a "pay to play" experience through VR and simulator.

This place is absolutely amazing!! If you like airplanes this is the place to go. Plenty of parking, lots of interactive activities for kids of all ages. Plenty of parking and plenty of handicap parking as well. There is a snack bar onsite and plenty of restrooms on both floors. A lot of history and amazing aircraft . You also can see a sneak peek of the planes that are being restored as well. Tickets were very affordable and no wait to get inside. Definitely a place to go if you have a few hours to geek out on airplanes.

Our visit to the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum in Ashland, Nebraska, was an unforgettable experience for my entire family! From the moment we stepped inside, we were thrilled to explore the exhibits (thankfully indoors on a chilly day). The museum had something for everyone—my parents enjoyed the historical displays, my kids were captivated by the planes and hands-on exhibits, and my friend and cousin were equally impressed. The highlight of our visit was the flight simulator! We definitely drew a crowd with our screams of excitement during barrel rolls and nose dives. It was such a fun and engaging activity that truly brought out our adventurous sides. This museum is a gem, combining education and entertainment in a family-friendly environment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting and memorable outing!

My wife had been hesitant to visit SAC; however, I asked several times, she spoke with people who had gone there, and I finally got a positive reply. After our visit, she admitted that she had enjoyed herself. That's high praise! The exhibits are professionally done, varied, and extensive. There is something for those of all ages to see and do. And we did see people of all ages there -- even on a rainy Monday that likely kept some folks sitting inside at home. We loved the variety and sheer numbers of aircraft -- so many and from different eras too! Just getting all those planes in the display areas would have been a feat... We liked being able to go inside some of them or view through plastic windows to appreciate the cramped spaces that pilots and crew dealt with. We bought tickets for the planetarium show; but didn't think it was worth the additional $3 (senior) / $5 (adult) price. It was mostly about observatories in Chile which could probably be seen for free on the Internet. I had hoped for something about stars or constellations that could have been shown on the roof of that small inflatable dome. That aside, it was a fascinating visit. The sections telling about astronauts were quite informative. The sections giving details about various wars were also very interesting. Another section that I really enjoyed were the Armed Forces specialty football uniforms that ringed the lobby area around the gift shop. There are some very nice items to purchase in that gift shop.

Pretty cool experience. The employees have a lot of knowledge and are very nice and willing to help and answer questions. There are a lot of static aircraft inside the two huge hangars and a few outside. The pretzels we bought in the cafe, weren't very good at all. One was really hard on the outside and one was semi hard on the outside. We couldn't finish eating it.

This is the first time I've been there, and it was great. Being able to get up next to the planes was awesome! I would like to see added to the collection, which would be a C-5, C-130, C-141, F-16, F-15, F-18 and F-14.

I almost gave this place a four based on the process of getting in, however it was an amazing morning/afternoon. We had about a 15 minute wait as a lady was checking in her entire school bus and it was taking everyone to get her checked in. That being said I purchased the tickets online while waiting and they waved me through. It was a great couple of hours. I was concerned with the bus and van loads of people coming in that it would be crowded and it wasn't. I only ran into a couple other families while walking through. I was pleasantly surprised how much there was to look at. It sort of felt like as I was walking every corner, behind every plane was a diorama or a scene about a war or incident. I learned a lot, my five year old had fun running around, and the lovely gentleman at the gift shop was so sweet, patient and kind, especially with my daughter. I would absolutely visit again, especially since we didn't do the theatre or anything this time.

My favorite place to visit in Lincoln. We go quite often. Its so peaceful and beautiful. Especially mid summer when all flowers are in bloom.... These flowers are early spring...

Go you won't regret it!! I promise unless you just don't see beauty in the flowers, trees, plants, and everything else that's available to see! Such a gorgeous garden. My sister brought me here for the 1st time, we lived in Lincoln as kids but never visited till now. So pretty! Lots of pretties to see and take photos of. Gave me lots of inspiration as I'm a tie-dye artist. It's free to walk through! Great place for photos! Close to the Zoo for a family day out activity or a seniors day trip. Wasn't super busy when we went on a Monday.

Absolutely beautiful. We are visiting from idaho and had to make this park a must see and was not disappointed. It was so clean and beautiful. The koi fish were such a nice touch to an already worth while happy place. Lots of shade and places to sit along the walking paths. I'm happy we we got to experience this.

Beautiful garden with amazing colors and well managed pathways and hedges. The ponds are a nice place to sit and relax and watch the colorful, curious koi fish.

Beautifully designed and well maintained garden. It isn't huge but it several paths to give different views. It is clearly a popular place for photos. Early summer is probably the best time to visit, but there are displays in every season to see.

Nice little oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Lincoln across the street from the Lincoln Children's Zoo.

Absolutely gorgeous!! There are so many flower beds. Completely free, there are donation boxes around the park. The whole thing is taken care of by volunteers. There are sculptures and ponds with koi fish. It was one of my favorite places to visit. If you like flowers this is one place to definitely check out. Its so peaceful and everyone there is smiling because of the beauty of it all. I wish I lived closer I would be here everyday.

Entrance : free Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln, designed by architect Bertram Goodhue, which took approximately 10 years to build, construction began in 1922 and was completed in 1932 this iconic building stands tall at 400 feet, making it the tallest state capitol in the USA. With its stunning Art Deco architecture and intricate murals, it’s a true gem of Nebraska’s heritage. If your around the area then it’s a must visit spot.

Easily the most beautiful building in the state of Nebraska. The Capitol is a gigantic tower with huge sweeping halls with ornately decorated walls and floors.

We took the guided tour of the capitol in Lincoln, Nebraska today. The outside seems a bit odd but the inside is very nice and the guide was very interesting so if you’re passing by , go there, it’s free and you don’t need to book in advance ( tour guide on the second floor) We took the elevator to the 14th floor. There were some nice mosaics on the wall and you could see outside from a little door. We also went to the third floor to check the library, which was very nice as well .

We took a guided tour through the state capitol. They are replacing the HVAC in the building and half of it is done. It may feel warmer in some areas than others because of this. One main entry is also available into the building. I believe parking closer to the 14th Street side is the easiest to park for entry. The observation deck is open but when we went only one door was accessible to the outside. It was a very windy day but fun to peek out! I loved hearing about the 100 year history of this third state capitol. The mosaics, artwork and woodwork is truly the type of quality that stands the test of time. The Supreme Court was my favorite legislative room. I also like the busts of noted historical figures. It helps tell a more detailed story of Nebraska history. The whole building is thoughtfully designed and perfectly suited for the beliefs and budgetary restrictions of a fiscally conservative government. Take the tour or stop in if you have time. You’ll be glad you did!

We had the opportunity/honor to visit the Nebraska State Capitol in JUN_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about Nebraska's history and legacy. We did a plant tour and for sure it's a remarkable building. Definitely, it's a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege.

Well worth the visit to a most beautiful state capitol. The free tour adds so much more to explain this truly unique building. Susan was informative, interesting and funny. An easy stop off the interstate. Don’t miss it.

We enjoyed the guided tour and learned about so many things. We went to the up top and the views are fascinating. But not able to fine any gift shop. Take a tour if you have some time during your visit to NE. You can park your car for free for two hours at the front door side and don’t miss the Lincoln statue.

Where do I even start, the College Football Cathedral. This charming stadium is fantastic all around. It offers get crowd noise, suites, and an open feel where you can also walk right alongside the field. It has one huge scoreboard and smaller screens on each of its four corners. Most importantly, the fans here have a genuine love for their team but are also very kind to opposing teams. If you come to this stadium you won’t be disappointed as it is one of the premier atmospheres in college football.

Memorial Stadium and the Huskers consistently draw high-energy crowds, making for an exciting game-day experience. The stadium is always packed, so plan accordingly. While outside seats are not allowed, cushioned seats with backrests can be rented on-site for just $5—a great option for added comfort. Concession prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to other venues and stadiums. However, as of 2024, alcohol is not served, though that is expected to change next season. The stadium does show its age in some areas, which is understandable given that parts of it are over 100 years old. That said, the facilities are well-maintained. In my experience, bathroom lines have never been an issue for me or my wife. Concession lines also move quickly, with plenty of food and drink options available both in the hallways and from walking vendors. The biggest downside is the parking. Depending on where you park and how quickly you try to leave, it’s not uncommon to spend an hour just getting onto the road after the game. Overall, it’s a great stadium with a lot to offer.

First time at a Husker game and absolutely loved it. Close parking is available if you're willing to pay or show up early. Once inside it was clean and easy to navigate. Would love to attend again!

We took in a Husker Game. Enjoyed ourselves. The stadium was packed. They don't allow outside seats but offer some inside for $5 each which make sitting on the bleachers better. The parking is rough unless you have a parking pass. Tailgate parties everywhere. GBR! I don't own the music.

I started liking the cornhuskers back in the 90's. When i saw Tommy Frazier playing i was hooked. I went to the USLA vs NEBRASKA game last year it suck's we lost butt we was making a come back it sucks things happen. So much to love about this stadium. Yes, it is over 100 years old and shows it in places but what an amazing atmosphere for a Cornhuskers game! The fans love their team but are welcoming to opposing guests. The upgrades to the area around the stadium really show the dedication to elevate the fan experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed amazing historical stadium and venue. Great access, concession’s, restrooms. Amazing venue. For us it was to see the Huskers play. A night game was amazing with the light show between the 3rd and 4th quarter with “”Thunderstruck”.

Homestead National Historic Park almost got scratched from our list of to-do as we traveled to Wyoming, but I'm certainly glad we decided to go. Not knowing a tremendous amount about the Homestead Act beforehand, we learned a lot during our visit. The visitors center is designed to resemble an old plow, and the walkway up shows the percentage of each state's land given to homesteading. Once inside the museum, you are surrounded by numerous displays from the beginning to the end of the Homestead Act. On the grounds, there are several historic buildings and trails to hike through preserved or reclaimed tall grass prairie. Down the road, there is another learning center, antique tractors, picnic area, and local art displays. Great place to learn about a piece of our American history.

Thoughtful, modest park showcasing an essential facet of our collective history. Definitely try to get out to the schoolhouse while you’re there. Ask a ranger. Lovely spot for quiet contemplation and a peaceful walkabout.

The museum was wonderful, full of history and information. You can also check on several computers to see if your family was one of the first home stutters in America. The hikes were wonderful full of wildlife. I spotted seven species of birds during our walk trails were easy to follow and well-maintained. Will visit again.

This nicely NPS-managed historical facility has far exceeded our expectations. The museum educates visitors the history of homesteading from multiple perspectives, including the stories of the successful and less fortunate and how the combination of delusional ideology and misleading advertising of railway companies promising rich soil and ideal climate affect the native people. There is also quite a collection of photos depicting life during the 'homesteading fever'. Don't miss the Freeman schoolhouse that was operational until the 1960s, as well as learning about farming equipment in the education centre down the road. Exiting the museum through a side door leads you to a reconstructed cabin with an amazing view of the prairie.

This is a great example of how a museum should look. The exhibits centering around homesteading were amazing, and told the rich history of how our country came to be settled. I learned a lot and saw a lot, and was surprised at how difficult homesteading was for those folks. Do not miss!

Everything about this landmark is a tribute to our history as a nation. The design of the building to resemble an old fashioned horse drawn plow is very clever. A must see especially since it represents the horrible way our government treated the native American people. The ranger that was there was very informative and helpful.

This museum is like going to 5 museums in one. Also, customer service is by far the best I've ever experienced. Diving in, I didn't know what to expect, and as I drove to the front gate, the lovely lady first honored me for being in the Marines, then explained the museum(s). She directed me to the main building, where I ran into Scott. He gave me a run down of the building and the other experiences I was going to have. I'm so glad I didn't eat before I got there as scott directed me to the old Town where I met another fantastic woman who I asked what she recommended and she said the chicken salad sandwich, which was delious and it was cheaper than McDonald's. She told me to visit the buildings and I ran into another young gal who gave me insight to the town and told me to go to the wood working shop, where I met Jeff who gave me a tour of how they did wood working in the 1890s. Next was the machinery ( which I wasn't into until I walked in). Wow, you have to see it to believe it. As you noticed, there were so many places to tour, and I skipped some for you to discover for yourself. I got there at 11:00 am and left at 5:15 pm in total awe of how many experiences you can have in one museum. Be aware there is something for every age here. Plan on at least 2 to 3 hours of fun and adventure.

I so wanted to give this place a better review! I was there about 10 years ago and the place was much better maintained than it is now. In the village were informational signs missing or damaged, buildings locked, and there was just a general look of the village being unkept. The museum was beautiful and very well maintained. So I wonder if most of the money went into that? The farm wasn’t open to the public either, which was another disappointment. You could walk around it, but not go in the buildings. The staff were very kind and I truly enjoyed their hospitality. The hat maker was so sweet and chatted with my mom and I for a while. Dogs are allowed there if on a leash, but not in *any* of the buildings. So keep that in mind when visiting. It is also a good amount of walking, so bring good shoes and water. There are bathrooms in the museum and the village. To enter, the cost wasn’t too bad.

Over 50 yrs since last visit. Very educational and super well maintained. The eating facility was a huge surprise & satisfying.

The Stuhr Museum is a great tribute to the prairie pioneers of the late 1800's and early 1900"s. From beautiful artwork to unique antiques displayed in the two main buildings to the pioneer village and well maintained grounds, this will be a learning experience for all ages. When you have worked up an appetite from strolling the village, have lunch at the bistro in the main building. Great food and very affordable. Kudos to the staff for a wonderful experience.

This was an awesome surprise in Grand Junction. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this place is a quiet and awesome collection of the history of this area. It would be easy to spend the entire day here. Very nice to see the many items preserved for current and future generations to see. Many items have stories and I’m sure many untold stories that go along with them. I’d love to go through this place with someone older, who may have had experience with some of the equipment and artifacts on display. Staff was so helpful in guiding us through an overview of the sprawling complex.

We went here on our first year anniversary and it was very nice. There was a cleaning lady that seemed like she was following us but the rest of beautiful the gift shop was actually fairly cheap. The only bad thing was that the ducks were out of food so they thought we were gonna feed them, but there was nothing to feed him.

Was super lucky this was 2 miles up the road from my trailer drop. They even let me drive around the grounds in my semi truck tractor. This place was really awesome. Reminded me of a similar place in Germany with old medieval buildings that I got to see as a teen. Would definitely recommend. Takes a good 2 hrs to see it all.

The museum had a lot of variety of things from meteorites, animal figures to guns and antique cars and more but of course my favorite part was the Kool-Aid exhibit and the journey of how Kool-Aid came about to years of history. Reminiscent of some childhood and it was fun.

My goal was to actually see the Kool-Aid exhibit at this museum. But I was very impressed and surprised at the rest of the facility. There is a planetarium with regular shows. There are a bunch of antique vehicles in the basement area. Their dioramas with various animals on the main floor. It is quite a collection and well worth the admission price. There is an elevator for those who need that accessibility. It was interesting seeing the history of Kool-Aid. Museum included everything from a replica of a store to costumes of the pitcher. There are lots of photos and displays of advertising and products from that time. Including variations on kool-aid. Museum is easy to get to. It's adjacent to an arboretum which is another pleasant excursion. There was a nice museum gift shop. It's very well done.

My grandchildren and I enjoyed two movies at the Lied Super Screen theater, “Blue Whales” and “Fungi: The Web of Life” on Monday, August 26. I was hoping our movie tickets in the amount of $44.00 would also allow admission into the museum itself, but that was not the case. After paying another $16.00, we did enjoy our time spent in the museum, but I don’t think the planetarium had any programs for us to attend. At least, the front desk didn’t inform us of any. My grandchildren were also disappointed there wasn’t any popcorn available. All that being said, the Hastings Museum was a great way to spend three hours with my grandchildren on a hot August day!

A pretty cool museum. We mainly went for the Kool-Aid exhibit and it was a good one, as far as museum exhibits go. Probably not worth the drive from Omaha…. But still fun, nonetheless.

All kinds of things to see and learn about here! From prairie settlers, to a planetarium, kool aid exhibit and lots of animals... we had lots of fun! An awesome employee offered us a tour and info about how things were acquired/ some of the changes that they hoped to make or add. This is a great inexpensive place to visit!

Growing up here was a kid this was one of the coolest places around and it hasn't changed. With the addition of the super screen theater and a few new things over the years it's become a place my kids love to go as well.

Kool, Man. Inventor of Kool-Aid left the museum as a legacy. A very nice museum with lots of exhibits, most NOT about Kool-Aid, for a small town (or even a big city). Exhibits will appeal to both young and old. A history of Kool-Aid and how it came to be is on a separate floor from the natural history exhibits.

I visited the Crane Trust on my way to Gibbon for the Sandhill Cranes migration. The friendly staff provided great information. Inside, the walls showcase paintings and portraits by talented artists. There's a trail to the river and a chance to see buffalo. Before leaving, you can fill out a postcard, and they'll send it for you.

Love the Bison! What a great property run in conjunction with the US National Wildlife Service. Nice visitor center with art gallery, gift shop, snacks and bathrooms. Parking is plentiful and large enough for any size rig or RV. Bison heard happened to be right outside the visitor center. Great hiking trails about the property. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming throughout the property.

Such a nice place. Wonderful, informative exhibits, excellent art for sale, terrific volunteer staff, and a very enticing gift shop. Taking the loop way back to I-80, we found about 700-800 cranes feeding in a field on County Road 9.

I’ve stopped by the Crane Trust Visitor Center many times over the years. This was the first time to do an evening blind tour. The orientation presentation was informative and helpful to get all of us organized to drive out to the blinds about a mile further south. The blinds were well located with a view out onto the river. Trevor was our volunteer host. He was friendly, sharing a great deal of local knowledge. We didn’t have the fanciest camera to get up close with the birds but the borrowed binoculars were appreciated. Just take the time to enjoy the sunset and hear the birds landing in the river. It’s worth experiencing!

The work they do to preserve this migratory crane sanctuary is amazing. Active preservation, but also education to further appreciation of the cranes. This is a gem of conservation initiatives in the region, so if you're going through Nebraska during their migration, a visit is a must. Years may vary, but late March early April? Note! There is a observation deck just up the road, please don't park your car on the side of the road, there will be a lot of cranes you won't want to miss 👌

Closed before on 4:00 Saturday during peak Sand Crane migration. Closed on Sunday. There are buffalo in the distance and cows and calf’s hiding behind 6 ft fences. Drove over 9 hours. What a disappointment! I recommend other locations that are OPEN to actually see Sand Cranes.

If you are in the mood for something touristy, this is a good spot. You need at least an hour. I don’t think most kids will find this enjoyable. In short, this is an interesting telling of the Western expansion. The end, focusing on the Lincoln Highway, got a little long and boring. The gift shop was pretty solid. Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful.

A very informative little museum, and a hidden road trip gem of the rather boring interstate cruise through the plains. It goes over the the American migration west with life like displays with a virtual tour guide apparatus for every patron.

Truly a fantastic place to learn a well-rounded history of the American West! There is something here for everyone. The gift shop is also good. Besides the Gateway building which straddles all lanes of Interstate 80, there is an old antique bridge that crosses a ribbon of the Platte River and leads to a large park on the other side. They also did a good job of representing the perspective of American indigenous peoples and their treatment. Highly recommend!!!

What an awesome I-80 attraction! Beautiful property and very well maintained. I didn't do the museum but did walk the lower floor common area, gift shop and display area. Visitor information is available on the lower floor. Staff was amazing and offered great information about the venue and surrounding area. I opted to spend much of my visit on the historical trails (NPS) across the street. This place is family friendly and even has a mining feature the Littles will love. Plenty of parking for any size rig or RV. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming. Simple snacks and hot coffee available at the gift shop.

This place deserves to be designated as a National Historic Monument—it would attract thousands more visitors. It holds significant history related to pioneers traveling westward and presents that history in a fun and highly engaging way. We spent over three hours there, imagining all the events that might have unfolded in the 1800s.

Can’t say I’m proud of many of the ways we went about Going West but .. here we are, Amazing walk though our westbound history .. we used to be explores .. wanderers.. travelers ..adventurers .. dreamers .. go getters, curious about what’s on the other side of the hill ..

What a great place to spend some time listening to and learning American history and some of the people and the hardships they had. Well laid out a the art work along with the history of so many groups of people traveling through this area amazing. For you history buffs and even those just curious about you will learn a lot. Definitely worth the time to make the trip and you will enjoy it.

A very cute (watch your head if you are taller than 6ft) museum dedicated to the Pony Express. It is in a beautiful park with many old trees. Absolutely worth getting off 80 to stretch your legs have a snack and learn something about US history.

The Pony Express Station Museum was a great unexpected find on our 2024 Nebraska Passport adventure. The gentleman behind the register knew his stuff and was very helpful and friendly engaging the small crowd the day we were there, answering questions and sharing his knowledge of the Pony Express operation. It's free, so pop in and take a look around.

Very neat place to stop at. My kids enjoyed mailing ourselves a postcard and learning about the pony express history.

A great place to stop and learn about the pony express. Adell is very knowledgeable and the gift shop has something to remind you of the visit. The display items are unique and very informative. It is well worth the stop.

We had visited the museum in St. Joseph where the Pony Express began, and this was one of the stops on the long path westward. We stopped for a short time to take in the sights and look the place over. The local volunteers were informative and nice. The place was clean and well kept. Not much for small children probably but for a couple of adults looking for an excuse to get out of the car it was fine.

I made it. A bucket list place. Our American heritage and historical memories can be of good things, like the Pony Express. The first original station, standing there since 1854. How far out is that! Glad we stopped and soaked up history. Because, it is my history.

Second trip in six years and can't wait to come back. I've seen it but want to see it again. Bailey Yard. Largest switching "hump" yard in the world. Fourteen miles by four miles. Great museum. Union Pacific railroad history which helped to build America.

We ended up swinging by here on our way through town. I am a huge rail fan, always have been! The railyard is insane and the tower is super nice! They even had a retired rail, yardmen at the top to explain things and answer questions! The morning we showed up it was extremely foggy/icy/snowy so they didn’t even charge us for our tickets since we couldn’t get the full experience! It was still super amazing, definitely worth checking out!

If you are a train enthusiast, or want to learn about rail logistics, you will love this place otherwise you might find it underwhelming. Its very educational regarding how a classification yard works and it was a great learning experience. The yard is so large that the tower doesnt provide a breathtaking view, just a good enough view. If you watch the videos you can squint and see the aspects of the yard you are learning about. If you are on a road trip with uninterested kids and just want a short stop I would say the tower is too expensive and not a good enough view to merrit a trip. If you aren't going to watch the videos youll only be ghere for 15 min.

I like trains, but even if trains aren't your thing, you will enjoy this visit. It is very informative. The kids will love it.

Beautiful lake. Nice sunny day when we were here. Pretty windy. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is our new annual gem. I was looking for a new camping area since we have explored so much of CO WY NM KS UT and somehow stumbled upon this must go to lake. I have always dreamed of this but thought I'd have to travel across the world to do this, but we drove on the sand, camped and even made a fire all on the beach. Every day all we did was wake up and walk right to the water and play on all the different beach areas. Its quiet, clean and pretty. The people/local businesses were kind and friendly. Stop by Admirals Cove. It was one of the best trips we have ever gone on and we have traveled the world. It was only hours away. Just goes to show you don't have to go far or spend a lot of money to have an awesome time. We can't wait to go back.

Beautiful lake with a lot of things to do around, so many campsite available, you can camp right on the beach. The view is amazing, water is clean. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars because we didn’t sleep well at night, so drunk campers were camping at night, they were super loud and played with the fireworks in the campfire until early morning.

My absolute favorite Nebraska get away!!!

Anytime you can drive onto the beach it’s a great time. Certain areas the sand is hard and cars were driving down no problems. If you wanna enter from less obvious locations you will need 4WD but no need to air down. However I didn’t go exploring either. This is an excellent location but the beach needs to be cleaned. A lot of broken glass and litter. I can see how things could get dangerous on the weekends or holidays with people partying and what not. I arrived on a Monday afternoon and wasn’t bad at all.

The winds were so bad we lost a 200 dollar canopy and had to drive back home in the middle of the night. So much rain we couldn't see our windshield. Don't go.

Looked pretty from the outside, but per the signs on the door, it was closed due to inclement weather. It was super freezy outside. Maybe that was impacting the ability heat the building. Fortunately we didn't go too far out of our way to visit during vacation.

What a road trip we absolutely love to museum we had such a great time. It was really great experience. The gentleman in the gift shop. What's really not only helpful but had a great sense of humor I'm kind of a weird duck so I love it when I find someone like that. We also took the trolley. My friend came back for tickets. Both of these places were a wonderful experience we will be back

The museum is full of lovely people and so much helpful information. As well as the upstairs that has a large model train set.

Really cool place. Lots of train stuff to look at. They have several model train displays. You are right by the train tracks so there’s a good chance a train will go by while you’re there.

Very cool places to learn about, see, and play with TRAINS! Learn about the history of Cheyenne and how the train depot played a big part in helping to establish it. It also has a lot of history information about Union Pacific. Took us about 2 hours to go through the whole thing. Lots to read and learn about. They also have different spots to sit and watch short videos. You can call a phone number and get a free audio tour through the whole thing. It costs $10 per adult, but kids 12 and under are free. I think 13-17 was about $7? It's definitely worth it. They also have a cool gift shop too. There are two floors to go through, and the second floor has a whole model set up. Look for dinosaurs. 🦖 Also, be sure to check out the Big Boy 4004 down the street after you go through the museum. It's awesome. It's at a park and it's free.

We decided to drive into Cheyenne and check out their train museum there. The place is priced well and full of great docents to answer questions. There is a nice model train area upstairs that is well worth the time to visit. The layout took more than 30‘years to create/assemble and a marvelous jo!

What a fun and informative museum. The model railroad museum upstairs is really fun. The detail in the buildings and surrounding forests, rivers and rock formations is phenomenal. The conductors are great and provide you with information. There are also 4 tiny dinosaurs hidden throughout the display, which adds to the adventure! Definitely a must see!

The place is kinda old, a bit dusty. But the experience was good. I met this old man with his daughter, they seem to enjoy the place a lot like they haven’t been in a museum for a while.

Great exhibits featuring local wildlife, dinosaurs, Native Americans, pioneers, cowboys, the railroad, Cheyenne history, & local artists. A great place to bring all ages!

I am still amazed at all the remarkable items and information that is displayed and curated so expertly. The museum seems small but don't let that fool you, all the items and exhibits are packed with information. I'm still mulling over what I saw, heard, and read. It's what a museum should be. I learned so much mostly because the exhibits are compelling.

An amazing place. The museum will tell you everything you need to know about Wyoming's history. From the era of the dinos to the convulsing times of the 20th Century. The collection of artifacts, outfits, rocks, bones...is truly remarkable. I'd like to mention that I really enjoyed the second floor, dedicated, almost entirely, to Indian American culture.

We love the Wyoming State Museum. We go here pretty often and don't get tired of it. They have hands-on interactions for the children and it's always clean. Plus it's free, they do take donations. Go check it out and enjoy

Great history museum in downtown Cheyenne! Free admission, they accept donations instead. They have great exhibits about Wyoming and its history. From times of the dinos, to the lives of the indigenous people, and then the establishment of WY as a state. There's also a small section with some contemporary art. I was especially touched by the exhibit that shared information and statistics about Missing, Murdered, and Indigenous Women exhibit and video in the gallery. This is an issue that needs a lot more attention and I appreciate that it is here. I really enjoyed my visit. Thank you

A very interesting museum. We greatly enjoyed our visit, minus two employees trash talking “stupid democrats” and declaring they weren’t welcome in their state to two other visitors. Not a great look…

We liked the museum. Lots of interesting pieces. Make sure and check price before you go! It was going to be $75 for 3 people. It's not one that we'd ever visit again due to price.

Too expensive for what's in here, even if you really like frontier days. $5 might be reasonable. Probably would've been better if the stage coaches were back in their since the parade a couple weeks earlier. But the temporary art exhibit in its place was probably the best part. On a positive note, we found something we liked better in the brochure rack there.

Worth the walk-through if you have an interest in the events and history of Frontier Days. Very nice staff. Cost was $10 a person.

Very friendly staff. I felt like I was stepping back in time with the old carriages and artifacts. Great gift shop. We learned a lot about the rodeo culture here and how important Frontier Days is to this town. Great stop while we were visiting Wyoming.

If your ever in Cheyenne, WY check out the Frontier Museum. It has the largest collection of carriages and buggies in the world. Wow so much to see there. Incredible collection of frontier artifacts. It takes at least two hours to see..but could easily spend more time there.

This place has to be one of our favorite stops. Always hearing about “The Daddy of them all” and getting to stop and see it has only inspired us to come back to CFDs. The museum is great with numerous wagons preserved, memorabilia from past cowboys including Lane Frost. This was a special trip to see the museum. Wish we could have gotten to see inside the arena area, but it was great just the same.

Nice park. The lakes are on the smaller side. Campsites are nice, but close IMO. Not a lot of shade and it's Wyoming so be prepared for wind. A few small play areas for the kids, but nothing exceptional. I think this park will appeal most to hikers and bikers. I didn't get to fish, so can't comment on that. This is a watershed for Cheyenne so no swimming. They had some larger pavilion area's with a lot of tables but I imagine these need to be reserved.

This was absolutely the best State Park we have been in during our past 2 years of traveling. First come, first serve sites were plentiful. Stayed by the lakes edge. Watched cranes, ducks, geese and deer seeking their breakfast. Showers were hot and clean, well worth the $1! We will be stopping back on our way back from Oregon.

Beautiful state park, the trek to the hidden fall is spectacular in particular. Wyoming is a beautiful place and this park along with the Medicine Bow National Forest highlight the beauty of SE Wyoming. A+

One of my favorite places camp in Eastern Wyoming. Beautiful lakes full of trout and amazing wildlife. I suggest a slow drive around the whole park right before sunset and sunrise. Saw a young Moose last time .

Beautiful park. Several camping areas and hiking trails. Grounds were very well kept.

A nice park for camping and paddle boarding. The campsites are very close to the road which makes them a bit awkward and noisy if people are driving by. The cost to visit the park and stay over night is too expensive for what you get. Paying per vehicle becomes a costly activity. The lake is a bit small but otherwise nice, and hiking was great. The Hidden Falls hike is definitely the highlight. Would make it 4/5 stars if not so expensive.

I took my kids on a hike to see the waterfall in early July. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The campsites look very well maintained and the staff is so joyful and pleasant. We will definitely come back to do some actual camping.

This was a very unique trip and I’m so glad I went. I’ll make this review simple with pros and cons. Pros: Very unique, there’s not really a sense of direction so you can go climb anywhere (at your own risk), very cheap / free depending on if you’re camping or just hiking / camping; they had restrooms that were easily found, and lastly the views and overall area was just so nice and well kept. Great place for those who want to throw an event, camp, or even just climb! Cons: Figuring out where to go or park was very confusing, the place is very popular so camping spots are kind of hard to get, the one section is all dirt road and not meant for sedans or low to the ground cars, there wasn’t really any markers or trails so getting lost is quite common, lastly it genuinely is dangerous so please be careful when climbing (I myself fell but I’m okay) Overall: 3.95/5.00, would recommend!

Greta place for camping and hiking. I've been coming here for a very long time and I really enjoy it, it's just a great place to go to get out whether it's for a day trip or for a few days. I would definitely recommend coming up here, the wildlife up here is also just as beautiful as I've seen deer elk moose Etc :)

What an awesome place! Was a little chilly and snow covered, but still were able to visit and enjoy the beautiful place! Just be prepared for wind, it’s always windy in Wyoming

This is a climber’s paradise. I didn’t have enough time to do an actual hike or climb, but I did get a chance to get a decent look around and it was so beautiful. It’s definitely a spot that is well taken care of, but popular. Absolutely stop here whether you’re driving by or want to stay for a few days. The sites themselves are beautiful.

I've been going here for years and it's absolutely my favorite place on Earth. Once in awhile you'll come across wildlife and the trails are gorgeous. Fun place to hike, picnic, rock climb, anything! Love this place so much!!

Closed during my visit, it appears to be an interesting property all the same. I parked in the expansive lot and walked the perimeter of the property. $9 adult entry to the museum and prison. There is also a $10 rv dump station at the far side of the parking lot. The lots were clean, well maintained and fairly level. Overnight parking is NOT allowed and the property is locked at closing. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.

What a gem of history in Laramie. This was the first federal prison in the territories, and a great little museum. We thought an hour maybe, and spent almost 4 hours. Between the different buildings, history, famous outlaws, farming machinery and wagons, it offered a little bit of everything. This prison even held a few woman! A must stop if you are in the area and enjoy history. It's self guided, so you get to explore at your own pace. Little gift shop and very clean facilities.

If you love Western history and museums then this is a "must see" for your visit to or trip through Laramie. There are lots of things to explore, read about, experience, and learn here. You can pay for a guided tour OR they'll give you a pamphlet with everything labeled and summarized so you can do a walking tour by yourself at your own pace (I've done it twice now). The entrance fee is $9 normally, but (unknowingly) the last time I went a week ago it was free.

Great little place to see! Very interesting and love that the tour is self guided with people placed at various places to answer questions. The only comment I have that could be construed as negative would just be to get the "staff" to be a bit more excited and interactive. I had to ask if one of them worked there due to them acting detached. If this changes it will literally be top notch.

Nine dollar entrance for adults, self guided tour of the prison. That’s great information and photos and exhibits. Love this place. It took me about an hour to visit almost everything, nobody else was there when I was. There is a second floor and you can use elevator if needed.

Really interesting, historic stop in Laramie. Once housed Butch Cassidy. One of the more interesting things to do in the area. Great way to spend time as a break from nearby camping.

Interesting museum with lots to see! It's a great value for families as ticket prices are $9/adult and kids are free! The tour is self-guided. At the gift shop, you are given brochure with a map of the prison grounds and details about each building. The main prison is the highlight of the tour with multiple rooms to see: intake, bathing, infirmary, cell blocks, dining hall, etc... There is a special display on Butch Cassidy and a wide array of old-fashioned guns and artifacts. Along the wall, there are mugshots of prisoners with a brief story about each. My kiddos favorite part was going inside a prison cell and climbing into the stage coach outside. There is also the broom factory where many inmates worked. You can see all the equipment they used to make brooms and watch an educational video. All in all we spent about 90 minutes touring, but it could take longer if you stop to read the information posted near every display. The grounds were clean. The staff was friendly. There was ample parking.
