It was a beautiful day. The sculptures are varied. I took my sister and her husband. They have lived nearby and never visited. They were both very impressed with it. I trained there as a teacher from 1979 to 1983. I go on regular reunions every 2-3 years. Every time I go it evokes wonderful memories. It's an excellent venue for all people of all ages. It's well worth a visit.

We had a great day out here. Parking was clearly outlined, and well staffed. The facilities are good - you can reserve a motorised mobility scooter if necessary. The cafe is on the pricier side but there is a good variety and they cater for allergies well.

Favourite place. Come here all the time and decided to become a friend with annual pass just recently. Wonderful trees. Sculptures that are like old friends like the Sophie Ryder hare. Long walks. Attractive cafes and interesting gift shops. Just wish that somebody would do something innovative and sympathetic with Bretton Hall and the old college buildings.

Wow. We were so lucky with the weather on our January visit here! Also this place is HUGE! We saw just a small percentage of it but what a cool place to wander, all sorts of buildings and sculptures to admire, trees and lakes and paths all over. Lovely shop and cafe too. Will definitely have to come back multiple times to see everything!

I really enjoyed the sculpture park primarily for it being set around a nice reservoir. We walked around the whole reservoir and particularly enjoyed the 74 steps into Oxley Woods which provided dapple shade from the sun and was a great walk through the wooded area. My Fitbit at the end said I had done 10,000 steps so that gives you an idea of the circular route although you can go even further if you wish (if you are a serious walker you can probably spend 4 plus hours just walking around at a leisurely pace). Would also recommend if you have children - we took 7 and 3 year old and both enjoyed the walk and looking at the sculptures as we walked. Lots of parking as well and well sign posted. I didn't visit the visitor centre but it looked like it had food and toilets etc.

Spent a lovely day even though it was cloudy! Walked 4 miles and saw a huge variety of work. Great food options, and a lovely gift shop.

Entry £9.50/adult under 18 free. Decent walk, great views. Cafe is nice, not cheapest but lemon drizzle cake worth the calories.

What a stunning place, it’s so mesmerising in the flesh! Of course we had to visit while we were in the Peak District. Inside and out the house was amazing, the walks around the estate are lovely and the facilities are excellent. I would highly recommend.

It's an amazing place, with really knowledgeable and friendly staff, but make sure to book your tickets online prior to your visit, or you will have to pay an extra £7.50 for the car park. Always look at the ceilings as there are some truly amazing artwork! 👌 The House is Fully Wheelchair Accessible, with a lift inside the house to go between floors.

Great experience. Worth the ticket price, but book ahead to get the time you want and avoid extra charges. Beautiful grounds, great shop and food options. Recommend getting there early to get the first time a lot through the house to avoid crowds and to have enough time to see the grounds. It could be an all day event if you want to explore the grounds. We were disappointed that we had to leave by a certain time so we could not explore as much as we wanted.

How to begin.. Beautiful but that doesn't do this estate justice, and this rating is without seeing around the house or fully exploring just the main grounds The house from the outside is exquisitely sculptured and marbled stone, not sure but looked a little like sandstone and limestone? The grounds are vast with many things to dazzle and intrigue, from the great rock garden to the hedge maze Not to mention the grand list of exotic trees from around the world including a selection of Giant Redwoods And if that isn't enough there is the odd waterfall and water feature including a gravity fountain I could go on about this amazing and beautiful place, but one thing that is for certain is we WILL be back we especially want to visit come Christmas If you haven't been go, if you haven't planned it add it to your bucket list Certainly one if not the best stately estate I've been to ❤️

Pride. Chatsworth House is incredible and also in very good condition and well maintained. In addition most of the guides were friendly and very helpful (only one was a little bit rude.) The gardens, farm and woods are also great but the big enchilada is the grandness of the manor house. It’s a contradiction I suppose that some of the most amazing features of the house and surroundings are also the direct result of great pride and a lack of practicality. A great house apparently requires great irony. I think my favorite thing was the decorative fountain indoors at a time when even indoor plumbing was scarce.

As a big fan of Pride and Prejudice (BBC version) and beautiful stately homes, Chatsworth house was a must. We chose not to visit the actual house during this visit (very busy) and save it for another day, as there was a lot to do in the grounds for Easter. The extensive gardens and grounds are absolutely stunning, with many kilometres of walking to enjoy. There are so many beautiful sights such as kitchen and cottage gardens, fountains, statues, a maze, gorgeous views, and features such as the cascade; you truly can get lost for hours here. Dogs are allowed in on leads, and some areas are accessible for people in wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We went during Easter, and there was an Easter egg hunt, a beautiful historic music cart, and a face painter (who was amazing and included in admission price). We also visited the play area, which was a huge hit with our child, and the farmyard where there are animals to look at and some to handle and stroke. There are also many food kiosks and shops on site where you can buy treats and gifts and toilets are available too. Highly recommend booking in advance, especially during events and public holidays.

I went to Chatsworth House with friends for a day out, and it was such a lovely experience! We took the bus from Chesterfield—it was super easy and convenient to get there. Although we didn’t go inside the palace, the outside was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by stunning countryside views. The grounds are perfect for walking or light hiking, with plenty of scenic spots to relax and take photos. Highly recommend it for a peaceful escape or a fun day trip with friends. Definitely worth a visit !!

Great place for a day out , actually saw a lamb being born ! Animals are really looked after , everywhere clean , no litter . Only complaint would be the price of food & drink , I know everywhere bumps up the prices once you in the place , but £6 for a hotdog seemed a bit steep . Hope for good weather & spend a lovely day there . Great for all ages .

We come here for our annual school trip such a lovely place really clean environment, lots of animals to visit, they have sheep and ferret races which are fun to watch, there is also a cute reptile area. Ample space for children to play in the playground as well as a soft play indoors and plenty of picnic space.

Superb visit to the farm with my grandson. Excellent value with so much to do and see. Fantastic falconry display on the Saturday we went, the guys from SMJ were very friendly. Great food at the Hungry Llama.

Great place for children 🙂 Parking available, costs £3 for full day. We came in breeding season so a lot of piglets, lambs and baby goats. Very nice playgrounds outdoor and an indoor play area, a lot to do. We definitely recommend 👌

The best place in South Yorkshire -Amazing time at Cannon Hall Farm - the adventure playground was amazing for the kids and also the soft play area. The animals are extremely well looked after. Can't wait to go again this year. The food was amazing price and taste at The White Bull. Thank you so much to the Nicholson family and team 🖤

We visited the farm, it is amazing, so well kept and with such a lovely lot of animals to see. You can tell the family love their farm and are proud to show it off! We even saw Rob looking after all the lambs, he stopped to tell us all what he was doing and why...top job!! Great facilities and farm shop.

Top place for the kids. Tickets on line. Cheapest to buy your own and eat on many seats. The rest of the park and house great for a look too

A reflective and relaxing day out. We went on the land train and thoroughly enjoyed the 45 minute trip around the grounds. The audio information was really interesting and enhanced the tour. I can highly recommend this experience. There are lots of helpful volunteers .A must be day out.

The detail in the exhibits was great and very informative. The layout was spread out but flowed nicely. Some memorials wouldn't be easy to get to with a wheelchair if the ground was wet due to a few being grass or gravel paths but most would still be accessible. The natural aspect of the sight makes for a wonderful walk. I would recommend booking in advance for special events as it can get very busy quickly. I arrived at 10 and finished at 5 as there is a lot to see and take in, so, is a wonderful day out. The cafe looked good but I didn't use it today as the fish and chips bus was here so didn't want to miss that.

Friendly staff and an impressive memorial - well worth a visit, but make sure you have a few hours. Had read problems with dogs not welcome but not in our case. Friendly staff, helpful but you do need time to get around. Disabled chairs available and easy access all round except for main memorial. Worth a visit.

This is a great place to visit, grounds are kept lovely, clean and tidy. Available to all ages and capability. Lots of areas to visit, would take you a few days to see it all. There is a cafe so you can get something to eat & Drink. Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead. The can also go in the cafe, there is an area designated for people with dogs.

What can I say, but a must visit. We went on VE remembrance day where there was lots of entertainment based on the times of the war. We had a great time visiting. The layout of the whole arboretum is lovely and a great place to remember lost ones who served in the armed forces. Lost but never forgotten.

I have visited on numerous occasions, and each visit, I find something new. It is an inspiring place to visit, well maintained, beautiful, and full of history with various regiments represented. Walking around seeing the changes makes it definitely worth a visit. It's worth more than 5 stars with a great restaurant and parking for everyone. Enjoyed the day fully, even with the showers today.

A wonderful place to pay your respects to those who have died. Many different areas dedicated to all who have served in any way over the years. Very clean, well kept and a pleasure to experience.

Amazing time in amazing place 😀 We spend few days in the Alton Towers Hotel resort and water park, my daughter likes it very much and she gives you 5 stars…there are almost no people, peace and quiet, no queues, they let us stay in the water park all day without any limits, normally when there are a lot of people, you stay for 2.5 hours.. For me the most important thing was cleanliness, the room we had was clean, changing rooms in the water park were clean, bathrooms were clean, everywhere was nicely maintained, we ate in a clean nice secret garden restaurant, customer service was very good and friendly… In the bar in the water park you can choose from jack potatoes, nachos, hot dogs, ice creams and drinks… I would also like to big thank to young beautiful girls with great voices who showed tricks to my daughter were great!! 😊

Absolutely loved it here! We already can't wait to visit again! My youngest was having the time of her life and didn't want to get out of the pool. The outdoor slides were great, and so was the master blaster, Although it was very busy and 6 forgot to get our pictures. We would highly recommend a visit here, definitely worth it!

Nice water park, but here are top.3 tips. * Bring your own towels, a towel is £2.5. * bring water and snacks, water bottle here is £3.5, so you get the idea. * Most important one, make sure you have 20p as the lockers work with 20p and reception don't have them all the time.

Our recent visit to Alton Towers Waterpark was a delightful experience for the entire family. The staff stationed by the pool were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests. We were pleased to find the outdoor area open during our visit, providing additional space and activities for the children, who had an abundance of fun throughout the day. The time-restricted sessions, managed through wristbands, were well-organized, allowing for a comfortable flow of visitors without feeling overcrowded. The changing rooms were impeccably clean, with staff consistently present to maintain hygiene standards in both the changing areas and toilets. Their diligence contributed significantly to our positive impression of the facility. Overall, Alton Towers Waterpark offers a well-maintained, family-friendly environment with attentive staff and ample amenities. We look forward to returning for another enjoyable visit.

We were bored within 2hrs. It's nice enough, the water is warm, and clean. Outdoor area is really nice. Getting there for opening time was a good idea, as it soon filled up. The kids got to go on three slides pretty quickly, but the queues got too long for them to bother with a second go. We didn't eat there as it was a quite expensive menu.

Fun waterpark, just a shame the outdoor section is closed and only open on weekends and school holidays as this limits your options.

Bring your own bottle for water as there is water filling stations around the park. You can bring a picnic too and most rides have bag storage. Food prices were ok, drinks were abit steep. Single rider - there was single rider for a few rides but not all, which was frustrating as you'd see alot of the rides that didnt have it had quite alot of si gle empty seats but queuing time of 45 mins+ DO NOT USE SINGLE RIDER FOR TOXICATOR - we waited longer than it took people to queue up, I waited so long after 2 of my friends went on (at different time and about 10 mins after each other) I left the single rider queue in the end as I time was getting on and I wanted to go on thirteen and Rita. We used the app to monitor ride times and it worked fairly ok Came here during the Easter holidays, we arrived early around 0910, ready to park, get to the park and get to the first ride to avoid big queues later in the day. We went for smiler first, and it was a good choice as the queuing soon became busy. We visited most of the park but didn't have time to do all the rides due to queuing. We were there for the whole day, was hoping to get on thirteen and Rita towards the end of the day. unfortunately, the cable cars had a tech nicely problem so had to walk through the gardens from forbidden valley to dark forest, it's a nice walk but did it each way and it is quite a steep walk to get up each bankment. Thirteen wasn't working so missed out on that ride and ran out of time to do other rides, was hoping to get through abit quicker as skngle rider but this was not an option for some big rides like Rita and Nemesis, bit sure if they try and steer you to get the fast passes. The monorail was busy when the park closed so we walked back to the carpark as it was quicker to walk than queue for the monorail. The battle gallions looked fun, and look like you would get very wet! Aquarium was good too, make sire to look at the times for Ray feeding etc and the talks from staff. There are coin operated machines around the park, for water squirters, fish food & amusement stalls. I didnt have any coins but did find a machine that let you pay by card for coins, this was by the battle galleons ride on the side by the food stalls. I will never get bored of visiting Alton towers. Thrilling rides, lovely gardens and plenty of facilities. This time we visited with the silver fast passes and it completely changed our experience - 100% worth the extra money! This was the first time we visited where we didn't need to rush from one ride to the next, or rush to eat our lunch etc. Having that fast pass definitely made the day feel much calmer and far more pleasant. I don't think I could ever go back to normal queue times after that! Unfortunately, Rita broke down when we were in the fast pass queue (just 1 or 2 rides away from going on the ride as well) which is part of the silver pass package. However, guests services were amazing and informed us that due to Rita breaking down, all other rides have been instructed to accept fast pass carriers - which meant we got to ride Wicker Man on the silver pass (not originally included)! We were so happy with this as it's our favourite ride. There are still issues with Alton towers however: the parking is £12. Daylight robbery. The food remains expensive, yes you should expect this nowadays, however, it still feels like a kick in the teeth when you spend all that money just to get in the park. Dread to think how much you would spend if you bring the family along without preparing your own lunch, snacks and drinks. Also, Galactica (with a 90min queue and 1 cart on the track?!?) paused the ride to collect an item lost by someone who had been on the ride, during the middle of the day. With the million signs and let's be honest, common sense, to not bring loose items on the ride with you, I was very surprised that this is the protocol with lost items. I'd prefer that staff tell people to return at the end of the day if they loose items, as opposed to making all of these people wait in a queue for 1 person's silly mistake. It delayed the queue by around 30 to 40 minutes. That was disappointing. Thankfully, I was in the fast pass queue, but I could imagine how frustrating that would be for the regular 90 min long queue. All in all, a great day. Highly recommend the silver pass (you will never go back to queuing normally again). Oh, and toxicator is a fab little ride. Thanks for bringing ripsaw back for those of us that never had the chance to ride it before!

Enjoyed our visit, second time in the past month. It was relatively quiet but I cannot understand why the rides don't open until 10am and close at 4pm, 6 hours isn't long enough considering we walked around 7 miles in total during our visit, if it was busy it may not be long enough for some people to get on multiple rides without a fast track ticket. Definitely book before hand as it is half of the price you would pay on the gate. The gardens are absolutely stunning and if you have time check them out!

Visited Alton Towers last Saturday, and wow, what a crazy experience! The rides were an absolute blast to explore, with epic music pumping up the adrenaline. From the heart-pounding thrills of Nemesis to the dizzying spins of The Smiler, every ride delivered. There are so many rides available that I wasn’t able to experience them all in one day. As it was a weekend, the queues for the big rides were a bit long, but the thrilling experiences were well worth the wait. The staff were friendly and kept things running smoothly, and the park was clean and well-maintained. Pro tip: grab a fast track pass if you want to skip some of the lines! Overall, an exhilarating day out – highly recommend for thrill-seekers!

It was an incredible day, as is always the case when I visit the resort. There's always a feeling of being able to release your inner child when you're at Alton Towers, and it just can't be beat. Heavily recommend booking ahead, and the app is handy to check on queue times. The rechargeable drinks are very good for value, too, so I would recommend them if you need a drink to top up occasionally.

We visited the theme park during the Spring term holidays. We purchased a two-day pass and stayed at the resort, which allowed us to enjoy all the rides and attractions in the park. The app provided by the resort is very helpful for planning rides and navigating the theme park. This theme park caters to all age groups. Typically, thrill rides get busy around noon, so it's advisable to use the app to check queue times and head to those rides as soon as the park opens. By planning with this app, you can experience most of the rides you want in a single day. Food inside the theme park tends to be pricey, so it's a good idea to get your own food. The park offers plenty of toilets and water refill stations. Since we stayed at the resort, we had dinner in Uttoxeter, which is a 20-minute drive away. They provided complimentary breakfast, but remember to book your breakfast appointment in advance, as you might not get your preferred time slot if you wait until the last minute. From the resort, it's just a five-minute walk to the theme park via the Galactica Gate (lookout for Rollercoaster restaurant). This entrance is nearer to all the thrill rides and is exclusively for resort guests. There is no wait time through this entrance. There is a monorail service from the car park to the resort entrance, but you may have to wait longer due to the crowds. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for my family and me. My favourites for thrill seekers: Oblivion, The Smiler, Toxicator, Nemesis Reborn, Galactica, THIRTEEN, Wicker Man. Less / No thrill rides - Runaway Mine Train, Congo River Rapids, The Curse at Alton Manor, Hex, Marauder Mayhem, Heave Ho. Little kids - CBeebies Land.

I recently visited Alton Towers with my two young kids and overall, we had a good day, but there were a few things that could have been better. First impressions of the park were positive — it was tidy, well-kept, and felt safe and clean for families. However, one of the first things I noticed was that the soap dispensers in the toilets were empty, which was disappointing, especially in a place that caters to so many young children where hygiene is important. We spent most of our time in CBeebies Land, which the kids loved, but the queues for the rides were all over 30 minutes long. It felt like a lot of waiting around with restless little ones, and it did take away a bit from the experience. Another downside was the cost of food and drinks on site. Drinks, in particular, were very expensive — more than I expected even for a theme park. Despite these issues, the park itself is beautiful and there’s plenty to do for families. A few small improvements would make the day even better.

My son was keen to come here after reading about it at school. We decided to make a weekend of it as it is quite a trek from our house. For two kids and two adults the entry price was around £70 - good value if you consider you get an annual admission as standard however as we do not live close, it is rather a costly day out. Our kids are 8 and 6. They did enjoy the experience but I think the older one was a touch too old for some of it. The little one loved the Post Office, supermarket and bank exhibits. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the cafe. We were done and dusted seeing everything in around 3 hours so for a £70 spend this was a little disappointing, however if you live local and can get there multiple times in a year it becomes great value for money.

Absolutely brilliant day out! Plenty of things to do and great learning opportunities too. Not sure who had more fun, our son or us 😅 The only downside was the parking wasn't free, after paying £42 for a family of 3 I was disappointed to find parking was an additional almost £7 for up to 6 hours. I think there should at the very least be a discount for parking for paying customers!

Before your visit, also read these comments with 1 or 2 stars. The kids were bored after half an hour, a lot of useless things. Overpriced cafe, do not order fish and chips unless you like frozen fish. We definitely not visit this place again (received an offer for a free visit in the next 12 months)

Visited with my friend’s kids 2, 5 and 7 years old. It's their favourite place and I can see why! I had just as much fun as they did playing in the shop, the car section and bank. The oldest likes the medical section the best and we had fun pretending to visit the dentist and doctors. We ate in the cafe and the food was tasty and good value. The shop had a different range of good priced gifts. All the staff were super friendly and happy, you can tell they enjoy working here. A wonderful experience & great day out. Looking forward to another visit soon.

My daughter loved her visit and we will definitely be visiting again. Although she is only 3 she did get the most out of all the areas, she especially loved designing the butterflies and watching them cone to life

Amazing place with much to do and lots to learn. Helpful if your child can read, but also interesting for younger ones. The talking robot who talks to the children individually is especially cool. They enjoyed the phoning from the call box and speaking to someone. We were there almost 6 hours. The only negative was the car park that needs to have an app to save queuing and so you can easily prove that you have paid.

Great place for kids to explore science and technology in a hands-on environment. Easy to get to, but the car park could do with repainting as the spaces are not super easy to see, and they're all at weird angles. There's absolutely loads to do, but at busy times, it is very chaotic. Most of the activities are aimed at kids who can read or understand what they're being told, I.e., it requires some level of communication either from the displays or an accompanying adult. But the colours and sounds are probably enough for younger kids.

Lovely big gardens to walk around. We were there just before Easter so not too busy but still plenty of people making use of the large area. The gardens are well kept, clean and tidy. There is a small train, loved by children and adults, that does a circuit of the centre of the gardens.

Wonderful Pavilion with an old world charm. Lots to do, cafe with local made beers, Ice cream for dogs, restaurant, art gallery and botanical garden. There are also lots of different events at any one time, so check out the website for information. All set in beautiful gardens.

I visited during the Buxton Spring Fair when there was a fair on, hence the quirky photos. Visited the cafe and had a nice pastry and coffee. There seemed to be a permanent selection of stalls selling crafts and artwork. The gardens are also lovely and a really nice place to picnic, stroll and relax

Great gardens with bit of a self service cafe, micro bar, upstairs seating and conservatory with beautiful plants. There is a gallery with lots of interesting stock and toilets at the cinema end. All on the edge of the beautiful garden. Worth a visit.

Park and gardens were beautiful. Toilets clean. Lots of lovely stalls inside the exhibition bit. Called into the cafe there for 2 hot chocolates to sit outside and enjoy, but won't do that again. The staff were polite and friendly, however the "hot" chocolates were barely warm (and I don't like my drinks scorching) and tasted like milk rather than any flavour. They were £4 each and slightly bigger than espresso shot size 😬 so we'll try one of the catering vans next time instead.

This place is amazing, such a large area to walk around, lots of buildings to explore and multiple cafes, book store and shop, it was busy, but it didn't feel like it because there is so much to explore, this is our no.1 National Trust now

I found this to be a most fascinating place and it was certainly helped by listening to the wonderful volunteers who had an interesting in-depth knowledge of the mansion. I found the contrast between the ground floor rooms and the apartments where Patrick Lichfield lived in to be particularly interesting. These apartments are not always open so check before planning a visit. The grounds are also wonderful to visit. There are a number of interesting features to explore and also well signed footpaths to walk. This was my first visit and I certainly plan to make a return visit

Always a lovely visit. Walked around the gardens and across Essex bridge into Great Haywood, found a nice pub to break up the walk. Grounds and gardens are always well cared for. Both the cafes are great, but we prefer the mansion house cafe. Second hand book shop is always really well stocked and we’ve had a few good books from here. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee and having a slow stroll through the gardens. Daffodils by the river just coming into bloom.

A great National Trust Property and gardens, Information and educational. A fascinating tour of the mansion and separate servants quarters. Then, there was lots of walking around the gardens and Arboretum with features scattered around. A very interesting story. The cafes are great, they can get very busy. The farm area is also wonderful, something for all here.

Wonderful grounds and all very accessible on my mobility scooter. Really recommend a visit here. Loved the retail area and second hand book shop. Good restaurant for lunch too all with flat access

Amazing place to visit. Think we have done around 5 km walking around, 2-3 hours. It was a beautiful day , we really enjoyed it.

This is the most wonderful place to visit; a large park with cafe's for general walking, the gardens surrounding the house (not the best out there but provide a lovely walk for spotting Spring flowers etc and getting different views of the house) and the house itself with every room telling a different story. The volunteers within the house are just amzing, very frienbdly and really knowledgable which helps you spot some of the things you would otherwise miss, like some of the amazing clocks and hidey holes from when people had to hide for fear of being arrested and so on. Well worth a day out

Beautiful place to walk around. Small fee to get in when driving (unsure if you pay when walking in) but well worth the money. As you walk round the clean, well kept landscape it's clear to see where the money is spent. Found the Highland cows too!

A rather large and extensive property which is also a bit hilly! The staff are very helpful and there are regular talks and tours. The gardens are beautiful and are well worth exploring. There was very little mobile service within the grounds.

Excellent house. Try the personalised tours which take you behind the scenes. They're free but you need to get your ticket and lanyard from the ticket desks. There are food and drink options both in the house and near to the car park. The gardens are immaculate, and the walks in the parkland are exhilarating. You need to be fairly fit to walk the parkland, though a free buggy ride is available from the car park to the house.

We enjoyed a fabulous, bracing walk uphill into the woods at Lyme Park. It was unusually quiet with very few people about and no shortage of parking spaces. There was a fresh wind blowing but it was not at all cold. Today's weather was great for walking and really invigorating. The views as you walk uphill towards the woods across the plain towards Manchester city centre are spectacular. £8 to park all day is decent value.

Excellent place for a day out and a leg stretch. Extensive grounds with various follies. We have been several times. There are deer sanctuaries and you can easily spot the deer. Most dogs walkers are sensible and have their dogs on leads in the designated areas. Plenty of parking. Good food choices - pizzas, pasty, sandwiches and ice cream. Lovely gardens and house too. The only downside is walking uphill to the house if you are not able to walk up hills easily but they have buggies for transport which you might be able to hop into.

The house was beautiful. The volunteers in every room had great knowledge, too. The one major thing that let it down was the food. I was looking forward to a stone baked pizza with smoked sausage, bacon, and jalapeños on top. After an hour drove to get there, paying for parking and extra to get in the house, £10.50 for a pizza, seemed quite reasonable for me. However, what appeared was a pizza, divided into 4 slices. Each slice had ONE piece of the sausage on and a very thin slither of bacon. This was an incredibly poor version of what could've been something really tasty. Yes, I ate it as I was really hungry and it was hot (it started getting chilly and raining), but my God, don't bother with the hot food. It's genuinely not worth it. Even the tables next to me was saying the same thing about theirs. Photo included. Find the bacon. This was a joke of a pizza.

A great place to visit! Walking amongst the monkeys is quite the experience. You cannot really interact with them for safety, but they walk/run/feed and play all around you and it is basically their territory that you are free to be within. The price is reasonable as they need to look after the endangered species and I imagine that is not cheap. We did get a discount by searching online for discount codes. Great for photography and kids have a park to play on with picnic benches around it to chill after a walk with the monkeys. The walk takes around an hour and the monkeys are fed around every hour. You are free to walk around as many times as you like.

A brilliant day out! We bought tickets at the gate and enjoyed walking among the freely roaming monkeys. My kids loved it. There’s a nice play area too. A relaxed family visit, and the guides were friendly and informative.

Absolutely great place to have a day out when the weather is good. Great picnic place to have with family and friends. Kids will have a good time. Food is reasonably priced not jacked up. Free parking. Tip: Book your ticket online and you will get a lower price. For us it was £13.50 per adult online where as if you get there and buy it's £15/- per adult. There is a lake and garden trail of 2 miles next to the place. Paid entry. Separate tickets for that. Overall a great place to spend some quality time with the monkeys who are so close to our nature :)

Lovely family day out to visit the park and see the monkeys. Fabulous guides around the monkey areas keeping both people and monkeys safe. Very knowledgeable too. Reasonable costs in cafe. Plenty of toilet facilities and loads of places to sit and picnic including the fabulous tipi offering much needed shade for the baby.

What an amazing experience. Now I know how Sir David Attenborough feels every time he is next too wild animals. Wish they had other monkeys too so you can walk with them also. Overall a good experience would recommend.

It’s a great place to visit if you are an animal lover. They are trying to protect the endangered Barbary Macaque monkeys here . It took about an hour to reach from Manchester. We are allowed to walk along with the free roaming monkeys . Monkeys are fed every hour and we can see them in their habitat.It has a free parking space a restaurant and a coffee van .we are allowed to do picnics outside the park and it’s worth a visit with family . We bought the ticket online and it was cheaper than the tickets sold there

Absolutely brilliant, had a lovely day and it was nice to see the monkeys just doing what comes naturally and being able to wander free . There is plenty of room for a picnic and a fantastic play area for the kids

Gardens not as impressive as expected, more a park than a garden and I would take the grand children there as it would fill a day very easily. The Italian garden has good structure but is now looking past its best, needs a revamp. The spring bulbs were superb with great colour combinations. The fairy sculptures are fantastic. The Dunnet border with Euphorbia and Camassia was impressive. Would be nice to see some of the house being restored. Looking forward to seeing the grass beds in high summer and then we might have a different view!

Did a coach trip to Trentham in June. I was very pleasantly surprised with the shops and the gardens. I spent the majority of my time in the gardens. They are very well laid out, lots of wire fairys to find, plus other interesting sculptures dotted around the lake. The garden centre was huge, with lots of selection of plants and with knowledgeable staff. The shops that make up the village were an interesting mix, so something for everyone. All in all a lovely day out

A fantastic day out in a picturesque setting, it’s a MUST visit and well worth the money! Firstly, I want to get across just how accessible the whole estate is, I’ve never been to an outdoor attraction this accessible before and that’s so refreshing to see! The gardens are beautiful, the lake is breathtaking and the wildlife is thriving. I’ve seen some wildlife here I’ve never seen before! The boat trip is just wonderful, I highly recommend it to anyone! The boat crew were friendly, knowledgeable and so welcoming. There’s so much to do on and around the estate, not only is there the gardens, there’s the Monkey Forest, The Garden Centre, The Shopping Village, places to eat and even a hotel if you need/want to stay the night. Parking is free and there’s loads of it too, there’s also some car charging available as well should you require it. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

I was so impressed with the Garden I bought a membership for my family. We are trying to go there at least once a month because of the ever changing things e.g. blooming flowers, events, decorations. My son loves their train and playground.

Lovely place for walking in peaceful surroundings. Mainly flat terrain. Good price. Staff in the cafes and monkey forest were all lovely and helpful. Two things dropped me to 4 stars. One was I would have liked a few more details on signs about the flowers/trees that I was looking at. Two, the lambing pen wasn’t open but no sign to say it wasn’t open so the guy kept telling everyone off for going through it he gate (even though there was no sign saying it was closed). When I said we didn’t know he said “well it’s on the website!” very abruptly which upset me. Really quite upsetting the way we and others were spoken at. Shame really as everyone else was lovely. Generally a lovely day

Great place for family day out. Swimming pool is a bit outdated but still beats others with slightly better theming. Don't look at rusty metal works and enjoy the waves and slides which are any age friendly, steps climb isn't too excessive and one doesn't have heart attack at middle age while climbing them, so one can still have fun in any age. They are trying stay on top of cleaning mess of pool and changing rooms. Again it does the job and it isn't too bad compared to some other pools. Restaurant offered quiet decent fried food with meal deals and share pallets, which was actually ok for fast food, but not too many healthy options, there was vegetarian Nd vegan option and beer for beer lovers. £5 refundable locker deposit, nice. £24 single entry and deal on family ticket or on dine or mini golf. Well it does come to a hundred at least for family of three with food but again kids have lots of fun. Viewing area for non paying customers isn't very comfortable or one can't see much unfortunately. Area is warm and one can sit and rest on chair and table. Website is very descriptive. Car park is about £6 if you stay 3 hours or more

The water park was an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant and full of excitement. The staff were exceptionally helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. I had a delightful conversation with one staff member, a woman who truly stood out with her friendly demeanor and willingness to engage with guests. It’s interactions like these that enhance the overall experience and make you feel welcomed. The only downside was the wait time for one of the popular slides, which took about an hour. However, this was a minor inconvenience compared to the fun we had. Once we finally got on the slide, it was totally worth the wait! We ventured through all the slides available, and each one was more amazing than the last. There was a great variety, catering to all thrill levels, from adrenaline-pumping drops to more relaxed options for families. Overall, despite the long queue for one slide, my time at the water park was unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out, and I can't wait to visit again in the future!

We have been looking forward to coming here with the kids since last year when we booked it. Yesterday the day arrived for our visit and we travelled from Doncaster to Waterworld, quite a long journey but it looked worth it. This place is NOT cheap. It costs £93 for a family of 4 with a £1 saving per person on the normal £24pp price. For this price, I expected amazing, and it's not really amazing tbh. It's a good venue, but it could be soooo much better with some improvements. Be prepared for a bag check to get in, I thought this was good and for safety reasons, not sure if someone would take a weapon or similar to a swimming baths, but then I realised they were actually looking for your own food. You are not allowed to bring your own food or drink i here. Waterworld insist that you eat the poor quality fast food junk they serve. The changing rooms are huge but not the cleanest and smell like sweaty feet and stale urine. Some of the changing cubicles lack any lighting so you can't see a thing. I didn't see anyone going around cleaning in the changing rooms so no surprise there was hair etc all over the floor. Into the pool now. The main thing we found is that the water temperature is freezing. This is not because we are nesh, we heard other people saying the same. Parts of Waterworld are looking very tired and in need of a refresh. The top of the slide tower where black hole, python and super flume is clearly used to be themed as a shipwreck. It needs replacing or a make over, looks tired. The staircase up to these rides is very rusty and the queuing system needs enforcing. You end up waiting soooo long for the flumes to the right (twister and space bowl) because the stairs are blocked by people waiting for the other 3 slides. Space bowl is very dated and would benefit from a link of paint. The pool at the top before you go down the slide is filthy and full of bits/dirt. The queuing system up to thunderbolt and stormchaser is equally as frustrating as it is chaos on the stairs with no real direction from staff or signage. People wanting to ride without a dinghy are blocked from getting to their slide by the LONG queues for platform 2 stormchaser. On platform 2, there should be 2 lifeguards managing the 2 slides up there. This would speed things up but would make it safer too when the lifeguards back is turned. The rapids are a bit pathetic The jacuzzi pools weren't switched on and the water was the same temperature as everywhere else... freezing. The food in the cafe is BAD it is overpriced junk food that you literally have no choice bit to eat. Surely the entrance price is enough to allow people to bring their own food in to eat so they can stay longer and enjoy their own healthy food. We ended up having to order a cheeseburger meal deal for the eldest. This was £10.50 for a 'Rollover' processed and pre made cheeseburger with dries and a coke zero. The youngest had a kiddies £8.99 meal deal, fries with 2 fish fingers (that have never seen fish) and a fruit shoot. It says it comes with a fruit bag but actually came with a packet of party ring biscuits. My wife and I shared a £12.50 pepperoni pizza. This wasn't the best, basically a pre made pizza base with basic toppings. I could see they offered jacket potatoes for £9.20 but i saw someone with one and it looked like a sorry example of a jacket spud. Lifeguards" some were really friendly and attentive, others were rude and looked fed up. Tallulah was very good with the kids and looked like she loved her job. A credit to Waterworld. It was a bit concerning to see security staff dressed like bouncers walking around the pool complex. Made me feel a little concerned. We saw some roudy groups of teenage lads nothing to warrant the patrolling 'heavies'. Finally, you have to pay to park, £6 for the day. 😡 I don't want to go on anymore, I've made my point. We have ticked this off the list of things we've wanted to do for a long time, we won't be coming back. It's good for aone off visit but it would need some real improvement for me to return.

We had an amazing few hours here today! Staff were quick to respond to incidents - a cut hand, a small puddle of sick and a stuck child, well 2 actually! (Clinton, you're a star!) We didn't try the food or buy from the shop. Slides are varied and queues were small enough to keep us from getting bored. Also a wave machine every 30 minutess, a rapid river and 2 bubble 'pools' plus plenty for little ones. Lots of changing rooms and private showers available. Its £5 (returnable) for a locker key and parking is charged over 30 mins. Up to 2 hours 15 mins is £3. Up to 10 hours is £6.

1-star review Terrible experience – avoid! Absolutely shocked by how poorly Waterworld handled our recent visit. Despite paying for parking, we were issued a ticket for overstaying by just 30 minutes. It was a bank holiday, the place was overcrowded, and it took ages to get back to the lockers and then out to the car due to the huge queues. We explained the situation, but the company flat-out refused to help or show any understanding. Easily the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Definitely won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to think twice before going – especially on a busy day.

Fantastic place. Went for my daughters birthday first time here. Was amazing. The best part for me is the outside pool area. ( it can get dirty as the wind blows leaves and all sorts in it, but it's still clean enough to swim through). The wave pool is wicked but can be rough for the little ones. Scraped 2 of my knees getting caught in it. It's worth it, though. Didn't eat in there, but the food looks decent and the prices as well.. they also have a subway in there. You have an option for the locker key, which is £5 but you get it back at the end. There is plenty of room in the changing rooms, plenty of showers, and gets cleaned all the time. The only thing I say they should have is the clothes spinner to rinse the water out of your clothes. That would make it even better as they have a heater which you pay £3.50 to use. Not sure how long for. Would visit again for sure. It's worth a trip.

Great cocktails. I had a very good Negroni. Warm and attentive service in this atmospheric and intimate bar we stumbled on when trying to escape the rain. Highly recommended.

This is a place that is a little different from other bars. It is, to say the least, curious because of the decor and the way the food is served. Although it has a welcoming and fun atmosphere, it is not very comfortable. But it gets a 10 for the food and drinks. I recommend it.

Great tasting cocktails, very good ambiance plus very enthusiastic staff! The cocktails were amazing just a bit pricey but they were well worth it! The bartender even made me a customised drink when I asked for something that they would recommend for me - and that was absolutely lovely! Will definitely come back here!

Nice, but quite expensive for what it is. We were expecting more of a science theme, but the drinks weren’t anything special. My partner got a good recommendation from a member of staff, but it was just not worth the money. It was also very loud, to the point where you couldn’t even have a conversation, with some patrons being very rowdy and staff not doing anything about it. Overall, it was okay but we wouldn’t go again, but we did like the ice cube!

So glad we found this place. From the moment we were greeted by the quirky friendly host the staff were so friendly throughout. This is also a serious cocktail place for people who like proper cocktails from mixologists that know their stuff. Thanks for a great night!

Used to be great, but the themed menu with interesting drinks has been replaced with a very basic one, and unfortunately the the simple drinks are not particularly great. Staff were lovely which was kinda the only saving grace for what used to be a great spot and now feels like a chain bar. It was however, affordable and the atmosphere is still very nice.

A Gothic architectural delight! Entrance is free. And found at the side of the building through a modern conjoined building. Initially after taking exterior photos, my companion mentioned that as it's a library, I should use it's toilets. So left him awaiting what we both thought to be a short wait on external seating. But after having to queue for entry, was intrigued and decided not to waste my opportunity to peruse it internally too.😂 I was perusing for the best part of an hour 🤣 Truly a wondrous experience on one's senses of intricate stonework, stained glass windows, statues, intricate wrought iron lamp lights, wonderful cathedral ceilings and arched portals. If only every library was this magical on the eye😂 A veritable temple to knowledge and learning. Sadly the musty odour of old leatherbound tomes was distinctly absent. Possibly because they were all secreted away behind glass panels. The mahoosive wooden lecturns were positively tomb like. Toilets were clean and spacious in the bowels of the modern building. Staff are friendly and informative

I absolutely love John Rylands library, and if it still opened on a Tuesday, I'd be in there a lot more. It is breathtakingly beautiful, you feel like you have been transported to a magical world. I've visited many times, and I'm still blown away by how gorgeous it is. I was also lucky enough to see a printing press demo on my last visit. Which was fun and very interesting.

It's amazing to think how many centuries of knowledge are housed here. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and they do a great job of explaining the significance of different items if you have questions. Overall, though, it's a must-see if you're in Manchester. Whether you stay for a quick look or spend an afternoon exploring, it’s a unique and memorable spot.

A shame that we visited while they are doing renovations to Level 1, but it was still great to see the infrastructure from the inside and how well kept the building is given its age. It was a bit awkward to be in the building taking pictures as a visitor while there were people who had clearly visited to do some work - so we didn’t spend very long. But id still say its a good place to visit if youre in the city. Entry is free.

One of the few things worth visiting in industrial Manchester! An astonishing open to the public gothic library! Meticulously detailed and beautifully decorated with even the possibility to sit down and study there.

We had a great day. Loads of free parking but we did go during the week. You can just park and go to the cafe if time is short. We bought our tickets there and you can use them for a whole year so we can visit again without charge. There are loads of interactive displays which were fun and plenty of information for the more serious minded. We went to the short free film show and it was amazing...a trip to the stars and planets. Lunch in the cafe which was a little pricey but very nice although our coffees were lukewarm. The actual telescope is massive and remarkable and we walked round it in the sunshine. There was another exhibition of photographs of stars, planets etc which was enjoyable. Helpful and friendly staff too All in all we had a brilliant day and would certainly recommend a visit.

We went as two adults and there was still plenty for us to look at. Lots more for children to do. Seeing the telescope is amazing close up. The whole of the site is well maintained with plenty of areas to sit. The cost of the entry fee gives you chance to return as much as you want within the year. The onsite cafes are the typical prices you’d expect to pay at places like this, but had a nice choice with the option to sit inside or outdoors.

Great value, can easily spend a couple of hours in the first visitors centre, before moving on to the others. Then there is the Lovell Telescope itself, which is mesmerising even when not moving. The outside educational equipment is also good fun. The cafes are good value with quality products. If the weather is decent, then a wander around the Arboretum is highly recommended.

book system is a bit confused however it’s still a good place to go with my kids. Car park is free, we bring our own lunch. My 12 years old son says the kids meal inside nearly 5 pounds is not enough for him. Staff is very friendly. Only give us the tickets at the first time which means second time even the it’s annual tickets we can’t not go to some activities I don’t know it’s always like this or just us. Anyway it’s a good place to go.

Great tourist attraction, suitable for kids and adults. Loads of information, not too technical for people who are new to astronomy. We had a perfect sunny day, so good photo opportunities. Lovely short walks with information boards. Plenty of benches. The staff were well informed and helpful. The film, We Are Stars, was interesting and gave a good background from the big bang to now. Cafe food was delicious, with good choices. We spent 3 1/2 hours there.

Amazing experience I took my 45 year old dad , he absolutely loved it. There is a big dome that is immersive inside when you watch these videos .They were ace! We did not go in the cafe but it was ok as well they close at 4 o'clock on winter holidays and 5 o'clock on normal days . There is a mini dish that you can talk to each other from one side of a path to another . Highly recommended it is amazing it is so interesting and beautiful.

Nice visit to the Space Centre, enjoyed a coffee in the cafe and a walk around the grounds to view the masive telescope. Lots of info and facts in the centre with a space photography exhibition. Finished the day off in the planetarium showing the history of the Apollo Missions. Not sure if the videos are changed regularly.

You don’t chose this club, the club chooses you. I have no right to say how great this club is. The history of this club it self if enough to define it self. As a fan since 2006 i have been in love with this club. It has been a roller coaster ride and my god what a journey it has been. I pledge to follow this for life and support it all the time. My visit was simply memorable and i have no words to describe it. It was like soul to soul. What a day it was. Will never forget the day. Only wish to watch a match now. Soon 🤞🏼

We visited Old Trafford on Sunday to do the stadium tour! It was fantastic!! Very clean and well kept.. the museum and trophy room were fantastic, and Manchester United has such a rich history! We had access to the changing rooms, walked pitch side, and went in the dugouts! They have the red cafe for refreshments.. such a great day! The tour lasted 70 minutes! It's a must if visiting Manchester and you're a Manchester United fan!

As a lifelong Manchester United fan, visiting Old Trafford for a derby match was a dream come true. Although the club isn't currently performing up to its usual high standards, my support for them remains unwavering, and experiencing a match at the Theatre of Dreams was everything I'd hoped for—and more. Walking into the stadium filled me with pride and nostalgia, surrounded by fellow Reds who share the same passion for the team. The atmosphere was electric, the chants and cheers uniting the crowd in a shared love for Manchester United. My kids were just as thrilled, their excitement adding an extra layer of joy to the experience. Regardless of the result, the match itself was a fantastic spectacle, and being there reminded me of why I’ve always supported this incredible club. Old Trafford itself is steeped in history, and its iconic presence left a lasting impression on me and my family. I highly recommend a visit to any Manchester United fan—whether lifelong supporters like me or those just beginning their journey. It’s more than just football; it’s a celebration of tradition, loyalty, and community.

A great stadium packed with history. Will be sad to see it replaced in the future. Recommend booking a tour or visiting the museum. They also have a nice cafe bar and store to buy any items.

Had a tour of the grounds which included going into the teams dressing room and seeing the pitch. It was however a shame the team lost the game. It is a massive for any true fans to visit the grounds. I really recommend the tour of the stadium.

Even from the outside, Old Trafford has that imposing aura, doesn't it? Like a sleeping giant waiting for the next roar. I bet your camera roll is now filled with some seriously iconic shots! Did you manage to capture the Trinity statue? That's a must-have for any United pilgrimage, even a photographic one! And the merchandise shop! Oh boy, that's a dangerous place for any football fan. Jerseys with legendary names, scarves swirling with team colors, and enough mugs and keychains to equip a small army of supporters! I bet you wrestled with the urge to snag a souvenir or two. Even without the guided tour, you still soaked in the atmosphere and connected with the spirit of the club. It's like a silent conversation with football history, just you, your camera, and the mighty Old Trafford. A different kind of goal, perhaps, but a goal nonetheless!

Great atmosphere, easy access and plenty of toilets and bars. Not pricey. The big downside is transport to get home. Most clubs agree extra buses / trams to take fans away. After one hour and fifteen minutes, we boarded a tram. Not acceptable!

Amazing place, how I’ve never heard of this is beyond me. It’s quite a strenuous trail if you not for the full trail, so be prepared for a lot of steps and hills. It is well worth it though. The views are phenomenal. We will be back in the summer

Took an impromptu trip here and was blown away. So many different activities to do. You enter through a history room giving a background of the area and then it's a short walk to the start of the trail where there is a small climbing frame for young children. The walk takes about 3 hours, but much longer if your kids like to climb every tree! There is also tower with 1 or 2 stairs to give amazing views. There are also caves to explore but mind your head and some interesting bridges. The views are breathtaking but beware there is quite a lot of exercise and it won't suit all people.

What an absolute stunning place, loads see and very good value. We arrived at 11am and left about 3pm so was definitely a full day out. We took the lower path back and it was certainly strenuous but definitely worth the effort. Free ample parking was a nice touch. Will definitely be going back. Bring good walking boots & a torch. The caves we excellent. Wasnt a single thing that let the place down.

We went to the park on Good Friday, £10 entry fee, toilets and cafe at the park. Plenty of parking, spent 3 1/2 hours walking around so good for the dog. A few monuments and caves to look at, terain can be strenuous in some areas on the lower path, good for children to get them outdoors. Overall good day out worth the money in my opinion.

Had a brilliant time exploring, will definitely be back. There's so much to see, the views are beautiful and the different trails keep it interesting. The toilets and "tea room" could do with an upgrade. They're very basic and just generally need some TLC, as does the entrance shop. The "gift shop" looks like the old dusty remnants of a charity shop. The main downside for me was the entry price. This is a beautiful place that understandably needs to pay people's salaries and for upkeep but £10 per person feels excessive, in my opinion. Parking was fine, there was rangers near the entrance guiding us to where to park. Overall I had a brilliant day out, really enjoyed the varying levels of difficultly whilst navigating the trails.

Great place to go for a wander, quite a few routes to take hard and easy, things for kids to do and look for on the way round (even wife got involved). Lovely day out.

Wow! I felt like Lara Croft exploring this beautiful landscape. Be prepared to get breathless and use your legs and arms to get round everything if you take the harder route. There are easier options if you struggle but I liked the challenge! Plenty of steps and about 4 miles of walking /hiking if you do the whole thing. Take food, fluids and wear practical shoes! I will be going back!

Great day out, lots of young kids play area and rides. Toilet facilities all over the theme park which was great. We had a fab day out my 8 year old actually went on most rides and loved it. Worth the price there's a cafe and restaurant there but we decided to take sandwiches as I have a fussy eater.

We decided to take our son to visit Gulliver's World over the Easter Bank Holiday. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't in our favour but we still managed to have a good time. My son loved the RAF section and the Apache Falls water ride the most. There were parts of the park that needed a bit of TLC, especially in the Lost World section. Many of the areas looked the same as when my husband and I were kids! With some ageing better than others. I can't fault the staff, as the ones we spoke to were friendly, polite, and helpful. The cleanliness of the park itself was very good. We saw many cleaners out and about to ensure public areas and toilets were kept clean and tidy, even in the rain. While we had a good time overall, the park did show its age in places. However, there was a decent variety of rides and attractions for all ages. I can imagine it's much more fun in the warmer weather. Although the rain didn't stop us from going on the Apache Falls and getting absolutely soaked!

The land of lights was well organised. It was amazing. The toilets were soo cute but looks like it was not cleaned. Overall good experience but they could have had more food options. Definitely book in advance and we went on dog friendly day and it was amazing- my fur baby even had option of having a puppy chino sprinkled with treats.

Really impressed! Went today, it's the Easter holidays we went with 2 boys both aged 5. It was ideal for their age group. Lots of rides suitable for little kids and plenty with little to no queue. I have a dinosaur fan so we went straight to their "Lost World" section which my son absolutely loved! We spent half the day just there. Some of the bigger rides did have longer queues so we waited in a couple of long queues for rides we really wanted to go on. But there are so many play areas, for the majority of the queue time the kids were able to play. Plenty of parking. Was good value, we booked ahead and paid £21.50 each. Plenty of toilets, bins, picnic areas, kiosks. And I didn't think the prices in the gift shop were too bad either. I've certainly seen worse. We spent the entire day and didn't manage to see everything. We're excited to go again. Absolutely brilliant.

Excellent place for kids from toddlers to young teenagers. Some great rides fast and slow. Great food places and gift shops. Log flume you get soaked. Great day out. Open at weekends 10am till 4pm just enough time to get round. The queuing time really isn't that bad. Soon moves. Lovely staff and a clean place. Signposted everywhere. Not hard to find and car park attendants are there so guide you through so there's no traffic jams. Rides for toddlers to ride with adults or other rides Where'd kids can go on alone. They have the height sign there. Some places quite expensive to get a drink and something to eat but it's usually the way. Cannot fault the place though. Excellent day!!

We left with tired feet and full hearts. Highly recommended for families with children aged 2 to 13. Trust me, Gulliver’s World is a hidden treasure that’s worth every minute. Book a visit today!

This place is great for the kids and they will have an absolute blast. What i will say is that the park is outdated and super grotty in places. Some of the staff are less than enthusiastic. They seem like they'd rather be elsewhere. The price we paid however and the amount of attractions for the kids to play on made the day worth the price we paid. Not a bad way to spend a day. I wouldnt go back again.

A very nice place to visit, the wildlife appeared to be taking a day off though, having said that at my age my walking range is a bit limited so will revisit. The catering is rudimentary in its offerings considering the modern kitchen and equipment available to staff. Parking there was plenty room, one option £5 for all day but money goes to funding the reserve.

A stunning location. We went for the Santa event and it did not disappoint, my daughter found it magical. Parking is easy to access, there is a large outdoor play area enroute to parking that is easy to walk to. Even spotted deer is the tree line. Would definitely visit again. No dogs allowed on floating visitor centre area though. Loved it.

Brilliant place to go walking and nature/bird spotting. (Several hides dotted around) paths are good and accessible, visitor centre is lovely too. EDIT: Spring visit was fab, with so much bird & bug activity! Friendly little squirrel let up get fairly close for photos

This place is amazing, it’s a gorgeous little magical place full of birds of prey. The staff that walk around are really polite and very happy to help with anything you need. There full of information on the different breeds of owl or bird. There are plenty of seating and you can get coffees in the little shop at the entrance. It’s a lovely magical place for the kids. Loads a nice planting. The bird show is awesome too plenty of hands on action with the birds for kids and adults just grab a glove and the staff will help you. I’m so glad we found this place. The prices are very cheap we’ve been to a few places and paid a lot more and received a lesser experience if you like birds of prey get your butt here you won’t be disappointed. It was my lads Birthday and we booked the vip owl handling experience he was in his element he held Ben the owl who was lovely and Roy his handler who told us loads of info about Ben and how he ended up being there Roy was a really kind fellow. Andy was also really nice was helpful teaching my lad and showing him how to hold them. Also telling jokes and giving us loads of info. This was an amazing day and we will definitely be coming back. Thankyou so much to the team and staff you gave us an amazing day xxx

I loved my visit here,the volunteers and owners are passionate and clearly love every single one of the feathered beautiful creatures there and it's not hard to see why! I'll be back to see Knowley,Koffe,Magic and all the others again I can guarantee that and I highly recommend anyone who's on the fence about if they should does too. Absolutely beautiful experience here today. A huge range of birds kept in good condition and amazingly dedicated staff who were happy to answer questions - you could see that they genuinely enjoy what they do. The 12:30 flight show was fantastic too. They made sure everyone was able to have a few seconds holding a beautiful owl which I was surprised at as I expected only a handful of people would be able to get involved! Definitely recommend this as a day out to anyone.

Lovely day out with family. All staff are very friendly and informative, happy to help in every way. Bird show was I clouded in the price and was fantastic! All the audience got to hold the birds and fly them in different ways Including kids! Could not recommend more.

Had a brilliant Easter day visiting the sanctuary. We didn't know what to expect on our visit, we had see the sign for the sanctuary but not visited before. We where delighted to find friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming staff on site. There is a large array of aviaries to see the birds in. The flying show last over 1hr 30min with at least 7 different birds of prey flying for us to see. Will visit again when possible.

Just visited this amazing little bird sanctuary! They're doing such important work caring for these gorgeous birds. So many gorgeous owls and birds of prey. The volunteers there are so dedicated, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Best £20 we’ve spent. Amazing day out. All of the volunteers were lovely and the people flying the birds were very knowledgeable. The fairy house hunt was also a fun activity to do while waiting for the bird show. No extra costs to hold the owls and they made sure that everyone who wanted to hold one did. Great for families and couples.

As far as zoo’s go, this is a good one. Nice indoor enclosures, spacious and obviously well kept 🙌🏾 outdoor enclosures. But I reckon I’ve had my fill of zoo’s as I still get the twang of sadness especially seeing animals/ predatory animals solo in their enclosures. All in all , great visit with loads of animals to see (if you’re lucky 😅), a variety of food options along with ample sitting areas , family friendly amenities, lovely picnic spots and quite a number of playgrounds and activities for kids.

While I was in the UK, one of the most rewarding and memorable days was my visit to Chester Zoo with my family. It wasn’t just a casual trip it felt like a personal achievement to explore such a beautifully designed and nature-filled place together. The moment we stepped into the Butterfly House, it felt like walking into another world. The air was warm and calm, filled with hundreds of vibrant butterflies gently fluttering around us. It was peaceful, almost magical, and left us in quiet awe. Another favorite was the Cave section a mysterious and fascinating part of the zoo, it added a sense of adventure and curiosity to our journey. One of the most delightful parts of the visit was definitely the Penguin Place. Watching those little penguins waddle around, dive into the water, and interact with each other was heartwarming and hilarious. We spent so much time there, laughing and admiring their energy. Every corner of the zoo had something unique to offer, from clever monkeys to exotic birds, and we truly enjoyed each moment. What made it even more special was sharing the experience with my family, walking, talking, and discovering the wonders of wildlife together. Visiting Chester Zoo was a wholesome and enriching experience and undoubtedly one of the highlights of my UK stay. It’s a place I’ll always remember and would highly recommend to anyone looking to connect with nature in the most enjoyable way.

Lovely zoo, animals looked well cared for and had plenty of room. They have a boat ride that takes you to see several animals and it's included in the admission cost. Several places to sit and eat and lots of kiosks. Food a little on the pricey side but no different to most attractions. Lots of clean toilets. Really enjoyed our visit, we arrived as it was opening and stayed all day.

Save a little by booking tickets online. Fantastic Zoo. Very big, very busy but lots to see. Mobility scooters can be hired for free. Just pay a £25 deposit refunded on return of the scooter. They need to be booked in advance by emailing the request but only a limited number available. You can get around in a wheelchair. A few hilly parts but not too bad. Plenty of toilets dotted around. All clean and useable. Food is quite expensive but you can take your own with you. Plenty of rest places around to sit for a while and catch your breath

Visited plenty of times and it's always been pretty good. The heart of Africa bit is open now that was being constructed last time I was there and it's my favourite part of the park now

The weather finally turned out to be good, it was warm and sunny so we went to the zoo! Fantastic team, everything was well organized with professional service. The children's buggies that you can rent should be given a lot of credit, a good thing if you didn't have room in your car to take a stroller for your child, there are single and double ones available. When I saw how huge the parking lot is I grabbed my head, how big it is. From small to large animals, you can see that the places are carefully cleaned and the animals are taken care of, there are many playgrounds for children, face painting, all kinds of bars and restaurants. A good place for a weekend trip with the family! I recommend

Once you walk around the walls you can visit the museum ( sorry forgot the name) , when the weather is nice it can be a pleasant walk. I like that it is not too far from the city centre . Unfortunately a flying visit and i could not see more than what I did.

The walls surrounded the city are providing you views and history together. Beautiful views of the spectacular city and river side. It is approximately a 2 mile walk on uneven going up down that includes climbing stairs. Not good for anyone with mobility issues.

Lovely walk around the city center of Chester. Takes about 1h to complete, but it's possible to only partially walk the wall. I recommend walking the whole stretch since the wall passes by all the sights to see. There are also lovely shops and cafés along the way.

I love walking the full length of the city walls when I'm in Chester. The 2-mile long circuit, with its gates, medieval towers and viewpoints, is virtually unbroken - though it does descend to street level in places - and it's open all year. Walking at a leisurely pace with frequent stops at points of interest, it takes me about two hours to go all the way round. There are many entry points, but although wheelchair users and people with prams can access the walls in a few places, they would find it impossible to do the full circuit because of uneven stretches and steps. Dogs are welcome, but they have to be on a lead. The best of what Chester has to offer can be seen and easily accessed from the walls: the cathedral, castle, Roman amphitheatre, canal towpath, River Dee boat landings, racecourse, and city centre shops. Some great views, not only of Chester but also of the surrounding countryside and Welsh hills. I find the history on the information boards fascinating. It's hard to imagine that ocean-going sailing ships used to dock right outside the city gates! There are even a couple of shops on the walls, and a unique little café next to the Eastgate Clock that I thoroughly recommend! Walking the city walls is an enjoyable way to get to know and find your way around Chester!

A very nice way to get your bearings around the city centre with nice views and plenty information boards. There are a few short sections where there are renovations ongoing to preserve the walls and adjoining buildings so be aware . Exit points are never more than 500 metres away and often much closer. The location dates to Roman times and the cathedral's construction dates from between the 10th century and the early 16th century. In Saxon times the dedication of an early chapel on this site was changed from Saint Peter to Saint Werburgh. She was lived c.650 – 3 February 700 CE was an Anglo-Saxon princess who became the patron saint of the city of Chester in Cheshire. A detached belfry tower was built in 1975 and is a bit of a carbuncle. Fortunately it is built a distance away from the cathedral. Great onsite cafe in the refectory is very atmospheric. Highly recommended.

One of the most beautiful cathedrals I have seen! I normally don't like churches and such, but this place is beautiful and full of history! The entrance is free, but donations are welcome. I recommend doing a tour for people who are more interested in the history. Don't miss out on the garden, the door is a bit hidden. And the door handle has the be pushed up otherwise it won't open. There is also a café next to the gift shop. Really worth to see!

Really nice cathedral. Chester Cathedral, boasts a rich history spanning centuries. Originally a Benedictine abbey founded in 1092, its impressive Gothic architecture largely took shape from the 13th to 16th centuries. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries, it became the cathedral church in 1541. Today, it stands as a magnificent landmark, hosting regular services, events, and offering a glimpse into Chester's past.

This cathedral is amazing, free to enter but donations are accepted and needed to keep it running so we donated by card easily at the desk. It's a very beautiful and impressive building. It's right off the Chester city wall walk so easy to get to if you're a tourist visit the city.

Absolutely stunning building that invokes a sense of reverence and wonder. Couldn’t believe it was free, but we did make donations. You can access so many areas, it is just wonder after wonder, and the details of the people buried inside is fascinating; they were so young. Interestingly, we noticed some art work depicting Jesus and black, which made us feel that the cathedral is firmly rooted in historical accuracy and the 21st century as well as being a stunning homage to the past history. The tombs inside have to be seen to be believed, and the stained glass is breathtaking. The day we visited some visitors went on to the roped off paths on to the grass and began kicking the heads off the flowers, so I would suggest they have some staff presence outside. Don’t pass this place by, you’ll be amazed at the beauty of the cultural heritage it offers.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the British Ironworks Centre and I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable days out I’ve had in a long time! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the creativity, craftsmanship, and atmosphere of the entire place. The sculptures are absolutely incredible – each piece is a true work of art. Whether it was the iconic knife angel or the imaginative animal creations scattered throughout the grounds, there was something to admire around every corner. You can really feel the passion and effort that’s gone into every detail. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. I also loved browsing the gift shop – such a unique range of items, and it’s clear they support local artisans and creators. And the café? Delicious food and a lovely setting to relax and take it all in. This place is more than just a centre for ironworks – it’s an inspiring space full of imagination, community spirit, and artistic talent. Why have we not visited before? This is an absolute gem of a place with so much to see. The exhibits are outstanding and you could wander around for hours. The staff were really friendly and helpful and added to the visit. The cafe is really good and the food excellent. We will definitely return a great visit 👍

What an amazing afternoon, my husband treated me to the afternoon tea for my 50th birthday and it did not disappoint! From the time we arrived everyone was so lovely and helpful, we were seated very quickly, ordered our drinks and, within a few minutes the afternoon tea arrived at our table it was impressive, sandwiches, chips cakes and scones! It looks as good as it does on your videos! It was delicious, we were given bags and boxes to take some of ours home as we couldn't eat it all!! I would highly recommend! Incredible day out with the kids - who were still talking about all the awesome Sculptures they had seen for a day or two after! Plenty of outdoor space for them to run around, and take pictures with their favourite Transformers and Super Heroes! Incredible to see the Knife Angel in person, and some other very thought provoking art works! A hidden gem of Shropshire! - oh and the cakes were incredible!🤤

A fantastic afternoon spent at the forge cafe for the incredible and delicious afternoon tea. I saw videos on Instagram and have wanted to visit for a while. I finally booked in with my sister and neice and everything was spot on. The stsff were welcoming and helpful, the relaxed yet lively atmosphere gave the room energy and everything on the afternoon tea was above expectation. We wandered through the gift shop and admired a selection of the amazing sculptures before the site closed. We will definitely be back again.

Anfield - Before writing this, I’m not a Liverpool supporter so I went into this stadium tour being a Newcastle supporter. Me and my partner did the Stadium tour and museum tour and I have to say. It was the best stadium I have been to so far. It’s modern, clean and overall phenomenal. It’s the first tour we have done where you go at your own pace, you’re given a digital guidebook with earphones, I mean in a way this was cool and good way of moving forward with technology and it was very informative on it’s previous managers and trophies, it even had a virtual reality where when you looking out at the field you could move the digital pad and it looked like you were at a match day which was impressive. However, I much prefer following someone around the stadium and being informed on history along the way as it feels more personal. After the tour we visited the museum which was great as you can see all of their previous title trophies and memorabilia dating back to the earliest managers. It was cool to see all the different items and old artworks from just after the war and early 60s. It was a hot day and a beautiful tour and I’m so glad I did a stadium tour of such an iconic place like Anfield.

Amazing Non-Match Day Experience at Anfield! Even without a game, Anfield is a must-visit for any football fan. The stadium tour was fantastic—walking through the tunnel, touching the "This Is Anfield" sign, and sitting in the Kop gave me chills! The museum is packed with trophies and history, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The audioguide added great insights, and the Boot Room café was perfect for a post-tour meal. Although I'm originally from West London, and a West Ham supporter, since moving to the North West, I adopted Liverpool as my northern team! I didn't do the tour due to walking difficulties. But my niece and her family did, and absolutely loved it! I managed to walk around to the memorial garden and sat in the lovely sunshine. I also visited the supporters shop and the staff were brilliant and helpful. Hopefully one day I'll get to do the tour 🙏 YNWA

Brilliant stadium fantastic atmosphere, went to Liverpool V West Ham game before the game the Hillsborough 97 vitamins were remembed. A very moving tribute was observed by all football fans in the stadium. The stadium is well organised for away fans, no issues getting in and out of the ground stewards friendly and helpful.

if you're a true Beatles fan, this is a little lackluster. i definitely don't regret going, and this museum definitely has some interesting pieces - however, it's definitely more about photo opportunities and telling you the story/facts, than actually displaying the artifacts. there isn't really much on display, however what IS there is super interesting. i would argue that the price is way higher than it should be, but i did have a good time :)

This was one of my favorite stops in Liverpool! The museum was done very well with memorabilia documenting the bands rise to fame. There were a lot of built displays such as the yellow submarine, the magical mystery bus, and clubs like the Cavern. Each exhibit has a number to correspond with the audio guided tour. Headphones and a handset are provided with the cost of entry. You don’t need to worry about your phone losing battery or signal to hear all of the facts along the way. Signed memorabilia and Beatles merchandise is displayed throughout the museum. Original song lyrics written by the band and producers. Sgt Pepper and A Hard Days Night outfits are on display. Cartoon cells from The Yellow Submarine. The audio guide was informative but a bit long winded at times. There is obviously Beatles music playing throughout the different exhibits to correspond with the display. Each member of the band has a specific section dedicated to their lives. There are actual instruments played by the Beatles and items they have owned. At the end, there is a recreation of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s white room. A pair of Lennon’s round framed eyeglasses sit atop a pedestal in the middle. Many of his sketches are hung on the walls. Great gift shop at the end. They have a small cafe with ready made items. The area is full of many other things to do so pay for parking and explore. Lots of restaurants, a shopping mall, and multiple activities (carousel, light show, etc). We went on a Friday afternoon. Museum was relatively quiet. No wait to enter.

Excellent Beatles museum to visit. They provide you with a headset, and you can listen to stories and watch short videos on the device. If you didn't have this, you wouldn't stay nearly as long. Good detail on the tour. Costs about £20 per person.

Fantastic exhibition, well laid out with very an informative audio guide. Nothing is rushed and you can take your time to walk around at your own pace and soak it all in. Didn’t quite know what to expect to be honest, but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The cafe serves very good coffee and the souvenirs shop is well stocked if a little pricey, but if you’re a Beatle mad fan, that’s probably not going to influence you too much.

Absolutely brilliant. This place brings the story of The Beatles to life. They give you a set of headphones and as you wander through each area the story of the fab four is incredibly brought to life. Once is not enough, I would go back again.

A great visit for any Beatles fan. You are provided with an audio media guide that provides commentary on the exhibits and has some additional videos. There are a number of interesting and unique exhibits. Had coffee in the cafe after the visit. Would recommend the museum to anyone.

We went to visit it but it was closed due to renovations. The area is nice, spacious and there’s a lot of stores. I was told the museum has incredible exhibits and it’s worth spending time there. There are toilets in every big block and lots of walking spaces.

Great museum with great guides. Great place to bring family, pupils, students to learn about British history, the trans Atlantic slave and how much Britain had to do with it, among many other things. Highly recommend! For anyone bringing children, please brief them on being respectful for there's a lot of sensitive history displayed.

A really good showcase of Liverpool’s maritime history and economy. A few galleries bring visitors through this, including one focusing on the Titanic. There is a gallery on slavery on the top floor.

My son is obsessed with the titanic so we headed here from Manchester and he loved the exhibit and found all the other areas pretty interesting too! Lots of hands on parts to keep the younger ones entertained

Great Museum. I didn’t know Titanic was owned by a Liverpool firm. The head office of titanic is just few hundred metres from this building. It has a dedicated section for Titanic and its relationship with Liverpool. Of course that's not all of it. It shows the history how the maritime revolution took shape and how it transformed the world.

Fantastic place, spent a lot longer in there than I intended. And considering it was free, I only have one word. Fantastic. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Parking nearby is very very expensive £3 per hour but if you can, park a little further away and walk 10-15 mins. It's saved you a fortune. Soo much to see 😍

Excellent free museum with a wide range of exhibits and a superb view of the Three Graces from the upper floor. Well presented displays cover Liverpool's origins right up to its recent past. Culture, industry, architecture, transport and natural history are all represented. Information is nicely presented, with traditional information panels, interactive displays and immersive reconstructions. There are plenty of artefacts and some lovely vintage vehicles to see. Facilities are well maintained, with a café offering a nice range of lunch options, a gift shop, toilets and good access.

The view from outside the museum near the Merseyside River is absolutely stunning and picturesque. Inside, the museum offers free entry and showcases items reflecting Liverpool's rich history. While the collection is interesting, the museum itself is relatively small, and I believe there’s room for expansion to better represent the depth of Liverpool’s heritage. On the day of my visit, an event was being held, which restricted access to several areas. It felt quite unusual that the organizers and security prevented visitors from approaching certain sections it was a bizarre experience for me. Nevertheless, the museum is worth visiting overall. Enhancing its offerings and expanding the space could truly elevate the visitor experience.

Came here for the Everton exhibit as my hubby is a fan. The goodbye Goodison part is little and pending the last photo from the match. there are other mention of Everton in other exhibitions. food at the cafe is not bad though a lot of food is unavailable at 2+pm for mains. do go earlier if you want mains.

Free to visit and lots to see. Great place to visit with children. Lots of exhibitions and lots to learn. Toilets and a cafe are inside too.

Love this museum, even better as it's Free! To enter. The floor layout was nicely laid out with a beautiful open stairwell in the centre. All of the panels were greatly descriptive and my partner who's lived in Liverpool all their life learnt new things about it.

Such a great museum, packed to the rafters with exhibits. It's free too. It takes about a couple of hours to explore all the floors on offer but afterwards there's a lovely cafe to rest your feet.

March 2025. Good news everybody! Oh apologies, my mistake, that was for another topic. Truth is there is no good news for the Pier and I predict the tolling of the death knell has picked up intensity. It appears that Sefton Council has had two fingers from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and that a meagre £10 million grant is not forthcoming anytime soon. Hey, here's an idea, next year you're going to need more money to fix the pier because the bloody thing is being trashed by the elements and can be seen visibly rotting like a dead horse in a meadow. Southport is suffering: the streets are practically deserted during weekdays and weekends are hardly thronged. This is my personal opinion but the Pier is ultimately destined for a lingering death: this pier is no more, it has ceased to be, it's expired and gone to meet its maker. It's a stiff, bereft of life, it's kicked the bucket, shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir. Watch this space folks for more sad news about this once treasured splendour's untimely end. Update December 2024. It's been almost two years since the Pier was deemed unsafe to walk along it's historic boardwalk. Have I good news for fans of this Victorian treasure? No. The Pier is still in a sad and sorry state, it's rotten frame extending towards a slate grey horizon and mired in the saltmarsh clogged mudflats, desperately seeking a saviour to throw a lifeline to save it from the slurry brown soup of the relentless Irish Sea. Sad days. Update July 2024. We have a Labour MP in Southport for the first time so let's hope it's not a pig in a poke of a vote and something akin to a starting gun is fired on the pier's restoration. The cost isn't just in the repair itself but in the lost revenue for businesses and the local economy and Southport's image as a tourist destination. Update June 2024. No change. Still closed and rotting away from neglect. If I wasn't so cynical then I would believe it's going to be repaired to its former glory and not be left to rust into the Irish Sea by the local Ostriches who are allegedly in authority. Currently closed for repairs due to damage discovered in December 2022. It's a seemingly endless process of inspections with no proposed date for reopening as of March 2023. It's a good job it's not a main attraction or a building that Southport is famous for and that attracts tourists, isn't it Sefton Council? Great for a stroll whatever the weather.

I visited JUNE2024. It was a sandy beach , kids going to love as they can play with sand toys. By bridge you can go lil far too. For family and toddlers it's a good beach ⛱️. One time visit from my side. KFC, restaurants, water theme parks near the beach so you can visit there too.

Although the pier is closed at the moment, it's still a lovely walk around the lake and sea front.

Very busy on weekends/ school holidays so be prepared to que for your fish n chips, rides etc. Fantastic views on the lengthy promenade with ample places to stop for a rest & refreshments. We loved the Penny arcade train ride. It took us right the way along the promenade & only cost a couple of quid return. Quit clean & tidy considering most of the bins were full to the brim. Huge thumbs up to all the staff working their socks off to please the crowds 👍

A busy but fun place to take the family. The beautiful Pier had a small train that will take you out and back should you get tired. There's food and an arcade at the end of the Pier to enjoy as you sit and watch the waves. Even enjoyable to visit during the winter.

Beautiful day out. Plenty of places to eat. Lovely town. Free parking for disabled blue badge. Pretty shops well worth investigating. Very friendly local people. Will certainly be going back. On the pier there were free loos.

It was a lovely long walk down the pier with little trains riding up and down the sea was so far out couldn't see it but the walk was nice to the end, a bit breezy but relaxing. Had a latte and a very sad ham and cheese sandwich which I hardly ate as it wasn't the best. Then rode the little train back, they even take card payment for the ride £4 return or £3 thats adult price unsure of other concessions one way was worth it, especially for the experience.
