A truly beautiful place. Unfortunately the cost of a ride on one of the boats 🚢 on the lake is getting ridiculous it's getting so expensive lots of people can't afford this now .

Beautiful place to visit. We have been there few times, this time we rented a boat. Kids love it great experience and so much fun. There is plenty of restaurants and places to eat. Ice cream to die for. Lots of spaces for a picnic with friends and family. I really enjoyed there, highly recommend to visit. Car park spaces are limited, but you can easy get one.

You can take the boat across the lake and see the scenery along the way. My only criticism is the prices at snack Vans. £5 for simple Roll with Sausage 🌭. Cmon that is just utterly greedy. If a family of four for example were visiting for the day between food, boat would be an expensive day out. Downside to one side, I am glad I visited.

Great cocktails. I had a very good Negroni. Warm and attentive service in this atmospheric and intimate bar we stumbled on when trying to escape the rain. Highly recommended.

This is a place that is a little different from other bars. It is, to say the least, curious because of the decor and the way the food is served. Although it has a welcoming and fun atmosphere, it is not very comfortable. But it gets a 10 for the food and drinks. I recommend it.

Great tasting cocktails, very good ambiance plus very enthusiastic staff! The cocktails were amazing just a bit pricey but they were well worth it! The bartender even made me a customised drink when I asked for something that they would recommend for me - and that was absolutely lovely! Will definitely come back here!

Nice, but quite expensive for what it is. We were expecting more of a science theme, but the drinks weren’t anything special. My partner got a good recommendation from a member of staff, but it was just not worth the money. It was also very loud, to the point where you couldn’t even have a conversation, with some patrons being very rowdy and staff not doing anything about it. Overall, it was okay but we wouldn’t go again, but we did like the ice cube!

So glad we found this place. From the moment we were greeted by the quirky friendly host the staff were so friendly throughout. This is also a serious cocktail place for people who like proper cocktails from mixologists that know their stuff. Thanks for a great night!

Used to be great, but the themed menu with interesting drinks has been replaced with a very basic one, and unfortunately the the simple drinks are not particularly great. Staff were lovely which was kinda the only saving grace for what used to be a great spot and now feels like a chain bar. It was however, affordable and the atmosphere is still very nice.

A Gothic architectural delight! Entrance is free. And found at the side of the building through a modern conjoined building. Initially after taking exterior photos, my companion mentioned that as it's a library, I should use it's toilets. So left him awaiting what we both thought to be a short wait on external seating. But after having to queue for entry, was intrigued and decided not to waste my opportunity to peruse it internally too.😂 I was perusing for the best part of an hour 🤣 Truly a wondrous experience on one's senses of intricate stonework, stained glass windows, statues, intricate wrought iron lamp lights, wonderful cathedral ceilings and arched portals. If only every library was this magical on the eye😂 A veritable temple to knowledge and learning. Sadly the musty odour of old leatherbound tomes was distinctly absent. Possibly because they were all secreted away behind glass panels. The mahoosive wooden lecturns were positively tomb like. Toilets were clean and spacious in the bowels of the modern building. Staff are friendly and informative

I absolutely love John Rylands library, and if it still opened on a Tuesday, I'd be in there a lot more. It is breathtakingly beautiful, you feel like you have been transported to a magical world. I've visited many times, and I'm still blown away by how gorgeous it is. I was also lucky enough to see a printing press demo on my last visit. Which was fun and very interesting.

The building itself feels like stepping into a Gothic cathedral, with its soaring ceilings, detailed stonework, and incredible stained glass windows. It’s peaceful, atmospheric, and full of character. The collection is impressive, with rare books, manuscripts, and exhibitions that give a real sense of history. It's amazing to think how many centuries of knowledge are housed here. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and they do a great job of explaining the significance of different items if you have questions. Overall, though, it's a must-see if you're in Manchester. Whether you stay for a quick look or spend an afternoon exploring, it’s a unique and memorable spot.

A shame that we visited while they are doing renovations to Level 1, but it was still great to see the infrastructure from the inside and how well kept the building is given its age. It was a bit awkward to be in the building taking pictures as a visitor while there were people who had clearly visited to do some work - so we didn’t spend very long. But id still say its a good place to visit if youre in the city. Entry is free.

Gorgeous gothic building. Had to wait a bit to enter but was beautiful inside! A shame that there are works being done currently and a lot of the books aren’t on display, but it’ll be lovely when it’s all done.

You don’t chose this club, the club chooses you. I have no right to say how great this club is. The history of this club it self if enough to define it self. As a fan since 2006 i have been in love with this club. It has been a roller coaster ride and my god what a journey it has been. I pledge to follow this for life and support it all the time. My visit was simply memorable and i have no words to describe it. It was like soul to soul. What a day it was. Will never forget the day. Only wish to watch a match now. Soon 🤞🏼

We visited Old Trafford on Sunday to do the stadium tour! It was fantastic!! Very clean and well kept.. the museum and trophy room were fantastic, and Manchester United has such a rich history! We had access to the changing rooms, walked pitch side, and went in the dugouts! They have the red cafe for refreshments.. such a great day! The tour lasted 70 minutes! It's a must if visiting Manchester and you're a Manchester United fan!

As a lifelong Manchester United fan, visiting Old Trafford for a derby match was a dream come true. Although the club isn't currently performing up to its usual high standards, my support for them remains unwavering, and experiencing a match at the Theatre of Dreams was everything I'd hoped for—and more. Walking into the stadium filled me with pride and nostalgia, surrounded by fellow Reds who share the same passion for the team. The atmosphere was electric, the chants and cheers uniting the crowd in a shared love for Manchester United. My kids were just as thrilled, their excitement adding an extra layer of joy to the experience. Regardless of the result, the match itself was a fantastic spectacle, and being there reminded me of why I’ve always supported this incredible club. Old Trafford itself is steeped in history, and its iconic presence left a lasting impression on me and my family. I highly recommend a visit to any Manchester United fan—whether lifelong supporters like me or those just beginning their journey. It’s more than just football; it’s a celebration of tradition, loyalty, and community.

A great stadium packed with history. Will be sad to see it replaced in the future. Recommend booking a tour or visiting the museum. They also have a nice cafe bar and store to buy any items.

Had a tour of the grounds which included going into the teams dressing room and seeing the pitch. It was however a shame the team lost the game. It is a massive for any true fans to visit the grounds. I really recommend the tour of the stadium.

Even from the outside, Old Trafford has that imposing aura, doesn't it? Like a sleeping giant waiting for the next roar. I bet your camera roll is now filled with some seriously iconic shots! Did you manage to capture the Trinity statue? That's a must-have for any United pilgrimage, even a photographic one! And the merchandise shop! Oh boy, that's a dangerous place for any football fan. Jerseys with legendary names, scarves swirling with team colors, and enough mugs and keychains to equip a small army of supporters! I bet you wrestled with the urge to snag a souvenir or two. Even without the guided tour, you still soaked in the atmosphere and connected with the spirit of the club. It's like a silent conversation with football history, just you, your camera, and the mighty Old Trafford. A different kind of goal, perhaps, but a goal nonetheless!

Great atmosphere, easy access and plenty of toilets and bars. Not pricey. The big downside is transport to get home. Most clubs agree extra buses / trams to take fans away. After one hour and fifteen minutes, we boarded a tram. Not acceptable!

I'm reviewing Delamere as a stunning location for photoshoots! I have done lots of family and engagement sessions at Delamere Forest during the evening 'Golden Hour'. It is especially stunning in Autumn when the leaves are changing colour. There is ample parking, although the main centre is quite expensive, it's very handy if you need the toilet or snacks from the cafe during opening times. There are other locations I use and wherever you turn there is beautiful scenery. I tend to choose week days and evenings as the weekends can be much too busy. During the evening the light that comes through the trees is gorgeous and the forest looks magical.

A very good place for family and friends to enjoy. The food is really nice and the cabins and clean and very spacious. The only problem with tbis place is that it is very hard to find as there are not many signs around.

Always a great place to walk relax and unwind but can be very busy at weekends or bank holidays. There are some less popular longer routes away from the car parks and lakes. We always try to go during the week an early in the morning. Have met lots of locals walking at these times. I guess the secret to Delamere is to avoid the cafes and visitors centre and get away from the car parks. The best way to explore is to use OS Maps App or Strava or Komoot to find some really good routes. Great place any time of year.

My local trail really fun and grat to walk and mountain biking . However they only have a blue trail. Please can delamere make a xc style red trail as it will bring people together and let people have a stepping stone between the blue trail and old pale or manley hill as it is a very big skill gap but all in all very fun.

Very clean and tidy and a great place to walk around . There are a variety of activities to do around the forest and has the Gruffalo trail for children to follow. The cafe is in the centre of the forest which covers a variety of meals and drinks. There are also toilet facilities for able bodied as well as handicapped and mother and baby.

Absolutely fantastic place for day out with the kids. Lots of walking trails for all ages. Pram friendly and good for bikes. Lovely cafe with range of food and very tasty ice cream. The playground is a little bit too small but big plus is huge parking with plenty of spaces.

Great day out, lots of young kids play area and rides. Toilet facilities all over the theme park which was great. We had a fab day out my 8 year old actually went on most rides and loved it. Worth the price there's a cafe and restaurant there but we decided to take sandwiches as I have a fussy eater.

We decided to take our son to visit Gulliver's World over the Easter Bank Holiday. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't in our favour but we still managed to have a good time. My son loved the RAF section and the Apache Falls water ride the most. There were parts of the park that needed a bit of TLC, especially in the Lost World section. Many of the areas looked the same as when my husband and I were kids! With some ageing better than others. I can't fault the staff, as the ones we spoke to were friendly, polite, and helpful. The cleanliness of the park itself was very good. We saw many cleaners out and about to ensure public areas and toilets were kept clean and tidy, even in the rain. While we had a good time overall, the park did show its age in places. However, there was a decent variety of rides and attractions for all ages. I can imagine it's much more fun in the warmer weather. Although the rain didn't stop us from going on the Apache Falls and getting absolutely soaked!

The land of lights was well organised. It was amazing. The toilets were soo cute but looks like it was not cleaned. Overall good experience but they could have had more food options. Definitely book in advance and we went on dog friendly day and it was amazing- my fur baby even had option of having a puppy chino sprinkled with treats.

Really impressed! Went today, it's the Easter holidays we went with 2 boys both aged 5. It was ideal for their age group. Lots of rides suitable for little kids and plenty with little to no queue. I have a dinosaur fan so we went straight to their "Lost World" section which my son absolutely loved! We spent half the day just there. Some of the bigger rides did have longer queues so we waited in a couple of long queues for rides we really wanted to go on. But there are so many play areas, for the majority of the queue time the kids were able to play. Plenty of parking. Was good value, we booked ahead and paid £21.50 each. Plenty of toilets, bins, picnic areas, kiosks. And I didn't think the prices in the gift shop were too bad either. I've certainly seen worse. We spent the entire day and didn't manage to see everything. We're excited to go again. Absolutely brilliant.

Excellent place for kids from toddlers to young teenagers. Some great rides fast and slow. Great food places and gift shops. Log flume you get soaked. Great day out. Open at weekends 10am till 4pm just enough time to get round. The queuing time really isn't that bad. Soon moves. Lovely staff and a clean place. Signposted everywhere. Not hard to find and car park attendants are there so guide you through so there's no traffic jams. Rides for toddlers to ride with adults or other rides Where'd kids can go on alone. They have the height sign there. Some places quite expensive to get a drink and something to eat but it's usually the way. Cannot fault the place though. Excellent day!!

It felt more like a wholesome, family-first experience than a commercial one. From pirate ships to dinosaur valleys, and even a charming little train ride that circles the park – Gulliver’s World delivers smiles, laughter, and lifelong memories. We left with tired feet and full hearts. Highly recommended for families with children aged 2 to 13. Trust me, Gulliver’s World is a hidden treasure that’s worth every minute. Book a visit today!

This place is great for the kids and they will have an absolute blast. What i will say is that the park is outdated and super grotty in places. Some of the staff are less than enthusiastic. They seem like they'd rather be elsewhere. The price we paid however and the amount of attractions for the kids to play on made the day worth the price we paid. Not a bad way to spend a day. I wouldnt go back again.

Beautiful 600 years old hall surrounded by big park and gardens. Only half of the hall available for visit due to restoration works going on which are expected to be over in 2025. Museums offers half price entry at the moment with ticket that last 12 months.

Great place for kids to learn some history. Special activity area for kids to learn. Cheap entry (free if you live in Burnley). Art gallery located right at the top of the large staircase (no lift to it though). Gardens are nice to walk around & large grassed areas in park for dogs. Parking is cheap or free for disabled.

Called in to see the Rotary Fundraising car feast. No charge in just £5 per car for parking. I've never been to a car show before but I enjoyed the day. There were a few vans selling food and drinks.

This place was incredibly beautiful!! It was windy and I felt a bit cold but even with that I enjoyed that place ! There are many beautiful trees and green areas where to sit and enjoy the sun. If you get hungry there is “place” where you can buy delicious pizzas ( I tried the one with pepperoni , the guy cooks it straight away ) the taste is amazing and also there is a coffee shop with some nice desserts like cakes and muffins. Really recommend you to go there!

Great Gardens to have a look around, will be amazing in a few more weeks when everything starts to bloom. House still has a lot to see and for the entry price it is very reasonable. They are completing renovations, but was amazed at how much was left to see around. Will go back again before I leave back home to Australia.

Beautyful Historical Place.amazing construction. Great place for a walk with children or pets. Beautyful garden and forest. There is a little lake and you can find ducks eager to eat bread my children love to give them bread to eat. Great place for bring you children ideal place for children to learning to ride a bike or skateboard.

This is a lovely country estate of sorts which is open to the public... it has sprawling gardens with views from the benches looking over a fountain with pond... long shaded walks amidst tall trees... paths to stroll through wild meadow gardens... and in the grounds is a lovely coffee shop/restaurant/ice cream place where all the locals get some treats for kids and grown up alike... thoughtful recommended for to get some fresh air and stretch those legs:)

Whether you're into architecture, art, or serenity with a splash of colour—this cathedral will leave a lasting impression. One negative, would be that we were not allowed to bring our small dog inside, even though it said on the website you could!!

I visited the Metropolitan Cathedral today and it was a real pleasure! I always enjoy seeing any depiction of the death of Jesus Christ and at the Metropolitan there is a lovely set of depiction using metal statues/depictions. The glasswork detail is great especially from the inside that is a lot less changed by the whether over the years, the contrast in lighting is great and around the perimeter of the cathedral there’s lots of little exhibitions or rooms of Prayer. You can access the Crypt from inside at the cost of a ticket and alongside this there’s also various Masses throughout the week that take place here! Just ask the staff inside, they’re very friendly and helpful. I’d recommend to anyone visiting Liverpool to come here as well as the other cathedral for a lovely experience in both as well as a walk along Hope Street!

Remarkable cathedral completed in the 1960s, still in regular use and one of Liverpool's most recognisable landmarks. The cathedral site was previously occupied by a workhouse, and the building seen today was the fourth design for a Catholic cathedral in Liverpool, the previous three having been abandoned due to cost and other constraints. The cathedral occupies a commanding position within the city. Walking up the steps to the entrance, visitors can fully appreciate its presence. Inside, several separate chapels surround a large central space. The simple design and modern stained glass are very different to the gothic cathedrals of the past. The cathedral is free to visit (donations welcomed) though a charge applies to see the Lutyens Crypt. It's a little bit of a walk from the city centre, but worth the effort to see such an unusual building. It's simplicity compared to ornately detailed gothic cathedrals of the past means it doesn't take long to fully explore.

Awesome inside and out. The whole Cathedral is of modern design but has a fantastic feeling of peace and calm. It is quite plain in decor but this only adds to the atmosphere and makes the icons stand out. Small stained glass windows in the outside wall of each of the chapel add colour. Cannot recommend this beautiful place highly enough

I visited this cathedral 50 years ago and always wanted to see it again. Beautiful and modern design. When the sun shines, the stain glass windows look beautiful. It's worth a visit and donation.

Lived in the city for 16 years and never been inside of the cathedral. So today was the day. I was mesmerised how beautiful inside is, if you ever come to Liverpool for a visit or weekend break. Definitely checkout this cathedral. It also has an additional part to it called, "The Crypt" which I never had time to checkout. However I will be going back thats for sure. There is a ticket fee to pay when you go into, "The Crypt". Single is £5.00 and family is £12.00. It's free to enter the Cathedral however they are truly grateful for any donation they recieve.

A very modern yet beautiful building. The natural light entering through stained glass adds to the stunning visuals inside. From the art work to sculptures the whole cathedral screams modern and this makes it stand out from others that I have visited. Free to enter but an optional payment can be made to visit the extensive crypts beneath the cathedral.

A great spot for families and especially young kids. Free entry with option for paid visit to the planet floor. There’s around 4-5 floors including the bee floor, dinosaurs and the aquarium which we really enjoyed. Toilets on every floor and a really fun experience over all would recommend everyone visit. Also good location and close to the park and other museums.

Amazing displays, went through all of them (spent around 2 hours here, but you can be here all day exploring😄), we went on Saturday right as the museum opened so there wasn’t a lot people yet and it was as overwhelming. We enjoyed the science displays of geology and zoology but also the Egyptian mummy display was very interesting. Also the location is nice nearby is small park with memorial and next door is art gallery also worth to see.

Great experience and planetarium well worth going to, me and my partner had a great time spent many hour there today. However some exhibits need some TLC, Some interactive area no longer interactive. But overall great !

What a great day!! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, cafe decently priced. No entrance fee, a five pound donation recommended. Well worth it. One exhibition you paid for and there was a charge to watch the film in planetarium. The venue and the exhibits were fantastic spread over 5 floors. Each one totally engrossing. Would definitely recommend (i took my 5 year old granddaughter) Enjoy!!

What an absolutely brilliant place this is! Honestly, it's a must visit attraction in Liverpool and really is worth going out of your way to visit. The aquarium was very good, as was the bugs exhibition yet then Egyptian Gallery was just spectacular. All for free as well. Get yourself there please! You won't regret it.

Great place to visit, many varied attractions and experiences and catering for young children with interactive learning and activities to the more mature interested in the details of world history. I didn't have time to experience the Planetarium, but will do so on my return sometime soon.

Visited the World Museum. Will be honest. It's not as good as it used to be. There's not as many sealife creatures to explore. Some of the tanks are empty, They used to have the ants walking along the rope, which they no longer have. The large spider used to be on the ceiling above your head. Which is now situated on the wall above doorway. However, it's still worth a visit. Especially the mummy section. I never went to check out the science part was short for time. So can't comment. I never tried out the cafe so can't comment on the food. FREE ENTRY to museum. Donations greatly appreciated.

It was the best stadium I have been to so far. It’s modern, clean and overall phenomenal. It’s the first tour we have done where you go at your own pace, you’re given a digital guidebook with earphones, I mean in a way this was cool and good way of moving forward with technology and it was very informative on it’s previous managers and trophies, it even had a virtual reality where when you looking out at the field you could move the digital pad and it looked like you were at a match day which was impressive. However, I much prefer following someone around the stadium and being informed on history along the way as it feels more personal. After the tour we visited the museum which was great as you can see all of their previous title trophies and memorabilia dating back to the earliest managers. It was cool to see all the different items and old artworks from just after the war and early 60s. It was a hot day and a beautiful tour and I’m so glad I did a stadium tour of such an iconic place like Anfield.

What can I say about this place, every time I visit it sends chills down my spine! It is the theatre of dreams, the magical place where the game is real. The staff and the people who run the tours are worth every penny. What I can't get my head around is how it's now £125 for a home shirt!!! #ynwa

Amazing Non-Match Day Experience at Anfield! Even without a game, Anfield is a must-visit for any football fan. The stadium tour was fantastic—walking through the tunnel, touching the "This Is Anfield" sign, and sitting in the Kop gave me chills! The museum is packed with trophies and history, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The audioguide added great insights, and the Boot Room café was perfect for a post-tour meal. Although I'm originally from West London, and a West Ham supporter, since moving to the North West, I adopted Liverpool as my northern team! I didn't do the tour due to walking difficulties. But my niece and her family did, and absolutely loved it! I managed to walk around to the memorial garden and sat in the lovely sunshine. I also visited the supporters shop and the staff were brilliant and helpful. Hopefully one day I'll get to do the tour 🙏 YNWA

Anfield – A Must-Visit for Any Football Fan! Visiting Anfield was absolutely unforgettable. Brilliant stadium fantastic atmosphere, went to Liverpool V West Ham game before the game the Hillsborough 97 vitamins were remembed. A very moving tribute was observed by all football fans in the stadium. The stadium is well organised for away fans, no issues getting in and out of the ground stewards friendly and helpful.

A very nice place to visit, the wildlife appeared to be taking a day off though, having said that at my age my walking range is a bit limited so will revisit. The catering is rudimentary in its offerings considering the modern kitchen and equipment available to staff. Parking there was plenty room, one option £5 for all day but money goes to funding the reserve.

A stunning location. We went for the Santa event and it did not disappoint, my daughter found it magical. Parking is easy to access, there is a large outdoor play area enroute to parking that is easy to walk to. Even spotted deer is the tree line. Would definitely visit again. No dogs allowed on floating visitor centre area though. Loved it.

Brilliant place to go walking and nature/bird spotting. (Several hides dotted around) paths are good and accessible, visitor centre is lovely too. EDIT: Spring visit was fab, with so much bird & bug activity! Friendly little squirrel let up get fairly close for photos

This place is amazing, it’s a gorgeous little magical place full of birds of prey. The staff that walk around are really polite and very happy to help with anything you need. There full of information on the different breeds of owl or bird. There are plenty of seating and you can get coffees in the little shop at the entrance. It’s a lovely magical place for the kids. Loads a nice planting. The bird show is awesome too plenty of hands on action with the birds for kids and adults just grab a glove and the staff will help you. I’m so glad we found this place. The prices are very cheap we’ve been to a few places and paid a lot more and received a lesser experience if you like birds of prey get your butt here you won’t be disappointed. It was my lads Birthday and we booked the vip owl handling experience he was in his element he held Ben the owl who was lovely and Roy his handler who told us loads of info about Ben and how he ended up being there Roy was a really kind fellow. Andy was also really nice was helpful teaching my lad and showing him how to hold them. Also telling jokes and giving us loads of info. This was an amazing day and we will definitely be coming back. Thankyou so much to the team and staff you gave us an amazing day xxx

I loved my visit here,the volunteers and owners are passionate and clearly love every single one of the feathered beautiful creatures there and it's not hard to see why! I'll be back to see Knowley,Koffe,Magic and all the others again I can guarantee that and I highly recommend anyone who's on the fence about if they should does too. Also a big shout out to the guy who served us and makes the big fridge magnets

Absolutely beautiful experience here today. A huge range of birds kept in good condition and amazingly dedicated staff who were happy to answer questions - you could see that they genuinely enjoy what they do. The 12:30 flight show was fantastic too. They made sure everyone was able to have a few seconds holding a beautiful owl which I was surprised at as I expected only a handful of people would be able to get involved! Definitely recommend this as a day out to anyone.

Lovely experience with my partner. There are lots of owls to admire on the walk around, and then the show after was also great! 😊 The staff were all friendly and welcoming, we would definitely go again. They also have a nice little gift shop too!🦉🥰

Had a brilliant Easter day visiting the sanctuary. We didn't know what to expect on our visit, we had see the sign for the sanctuary but not visited before. We where delighted to find friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming staff on site. There is a large array of aviaries to see the birds in. The flying show last over 1hr 30min with at least 7 different birds of prey flying for us to see. Will visit again when possible.

Just visited this amazing little bird sanctuary! They're doing such important work caring for these gorgeous birds. So many gorgeous owls and birds of prey. The volunteers there are so dedicated, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Thrilling Rides & Fun Day Out at Pleasure Beach! 🎢 We started the day with The Big One, and I was pleasantly surprised—it was much better than expected! The ride takes you incredibly high, offering stunning views of Blackpool Beach, before dropping suddenly—definitely the best ride of the day! The second-best ride was Icon, which was another standout attraction. The rest of the rides were decent, though similar versions can be found at other theme parks in Europe, each with its own unique twists. That said, it’s a competitive industry, and Pleasure Beach holds its own with some fantastic rides! Unfortunately, I was looking forward to trying Valhalla, but due to mechanical issues, it was closed for the day, which was disappointing. One critique I’d mention is the booking system through the app. I was already a bit concerned when I downloaded it, as it didn’t have the best rating. I understand that some reviews can be nitpicky, but if you’ve travelled a long distance, you want a smooth experience, not the frustration of figuring out an unreliable app. If you book your ticket via the app and later want to add upgrades like a VIP wristband, it won’t let you do it unless you purchase a new ticket. This was frustrating, as we had to call customer service, only to find out that upgrades can only be made on the day. It would be much better if this could be done in advance or at least clearly highlighted within the app. That said, the queue times were well-managed. If you arrive in the morning, they aren’t too bad, though they pick up later—but the lines move very quickly, so you never wait too long. I was really pleased with that, and I think that’s credit to Pleasure Beach for being well-organised. Overall, Pleasure Beach is a fantastic theme park with thrilling rides and a lively atmosphere! A few small improvements would make it even better, but it's still definitely worth a visit for a fun day out! 🎢🔥

Unfortunately this theme park goes down.This time was a family visit .The park wasn't very busy so we went on most of the rides with very little or no wait in the queue.Is it worth the money?It's not from me.Why?The park needs complete refurbishment.Looks very scrappy,food quality is very poor and toilets are disgusting.We paid full price but some of the rides were closed.That should reflect in the price.We went on the most of the rides but if the weather is nice you will end spending in queue more than three hours if want to go on all rides.Looks like management is patching where possible but that doesn't really work.

It was pretty nice. I went in 2023 and it was very busy. This was in the summer, so I suggest that you go before summer as it can be very hard to get around. It is a good place to go to and if you want to know about the things Blackpool has to offer you should come here! We were only here for a few hours, but the busiest time has to be at 12pm.

Great place to go with rides for all the family. Thrill seekers will enjoy it the most though! Very good for value, with brilliant rides, however some of them are pretty rough (e.g Infusion)

Booked online so was cheaper, although still expensive. Upon entering the was queues however you got through bag check fast. The park was busy, with 3 big rudes not working. Queues for the rides were ridiculous, we waiting at most 45 minutes for a ride. ICON wait was longer closer to an hr. So my children managed to get on 6 rides in total. Toilet cleanliness wasnt too bad considering how busy it was. Food & drink is expensive there. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Always a great day out when going out of school holidays makes a difference- so many great rides for all the family and decent queue time- I wouldn't recommend going on a school holiday as it can be frustrating and annoying in the queues- especially being slowed down by fast track ticket bast**ds. Go take the kids out of school and have a blast.

Ate in the restaurant food was fantastic hot and tasty. The staff were friendly and polite was impressed lady who took our order could understand me as I have a speech problem. Definitely worth the money and staff in the shop were friendly and lovely too . We felt very well looked after will come again

Did the cheese experience, where we: got a live demonstration on how the cheese is made, learnt about the creamery history, admired the Wallace and Gromit section and tasted some very nice cheeses! The gift shop had a lot of selection from homeware, gifts and treats! We also had food in the cafe, I got a rarebit- decent portions and I treated myself to a ice cream after. Fun few hours!

Called in for a tour and a meal, however the restaurant was closed for emergency repairs, not that anything was being done while we were there. Had soup and tea in the cafe which was very good. The shop sells a lot of souvenirs. The tour is good and takes about an hour. Check times though. The tourist leaflets have a two for one voucher on the rear. Naturally an extensive cheese shop on site.

we went for the cheesy afternoon tea and it did NOT disappoint! staff were lovely, cheerful and very accommodating to our needs as we do not drink alcohol and wanted meat free options. mac and cheese was to die for. we were surprisingly full. not a fan of the cheesecake but everything was really nice, definitely would go again. there’s a gift shop too!

Visited just an had the Wensleydale Cheese Experience. It was fun to have a better understanding on thr heritage and cheese making process. The gentleman doing the introduction was comical and engaging! Unfortunately, there was no one working on Easter Sunday (or any Sunday). So we could not see the operation of the whole chese making process. Tried the different cheese flavours and the Cranberry, Apricot as well as Pineapple Cheese hit it right for me! Can be a little busy but thats a good thing! A good 1-1.5hours well spent! Highly encouraged!

Did the cheese making session as a family of 7. It was very informative and interesting. Great cheese samples. We then ate in the restaurant which was inexpensive. Excellent food. I can highly recommend the steak and ale pie.

We visited Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre and ended up learning more about cheese than we ever expected. Our guide Martin was a true cheese enthusiast and made the whole process really interesting. The setup with cameras was great—you get a clear view of everything. The cheese tasting was fantastic—we tried everything they make. The restaurant, though, didn’t quite hit the mark. The food was a bit dry and not as exciting as we hoped. But the staff were super friendly, which made up for it. The views are stunning, and the atmosphere alone is worth the visit.

Since being extended in 1990, White Scar has become the country's largest show cave, offering a mile-long trip in and out of tunnels and caverns, featuring all manner of rock formations and even fossils. Our expert guide was full of facts, digging deep and making a special effort to explain everything to visitors from overseas. Friendly and welcoming cafe staff and some good souvenir opportunities in the shop too.

Wouldn't regret the visit. Friendly staff and patience with people and young children. Remember there are a lot of tight and narrow passes. A lot of places, have to bend and walk. Visited on a wet January Sunday afternoon so it wasn't busy. The guide was really good and answered my questions. In our group there was someone with a slight mobility issue. It wasn't after he paid and was just inside that it was mentioned in the safety briefing about the low ceiling and having to crouch down. Maybe ceiling height before you pay could be an option. <<<< This is constructive feedback and I would recommend this place.

Recently made an impromptu visit to these fabulous caves as I travelled through the village. This quick decision meant another lady could also do the tour as she had been waiting in the car park for someone else to arrive so that the tour could be done (I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason) Tracie, our tour guide, was full of facts and interesting information about the history of the caves, the stone, the transformation of the rocks, the fossils going back millions of years and the surrounding area. A much enjoyed experience.

Brilliant and interesting cave. Our guide was Tim who was fabulous. Very knowledgeable but not boring if you know what I mean! Obviously as it’s a cave it does get a bit chilly so take a coat. The cafe has the most fabulous view.

Fantastic experience! Probably a surprised last min visit for us enroute to Hawes and it was a pleasant trip. Might be a lil challenging for those who are not so fit but its nothing to worry about!

We took my husband to the cave for his 75th and he absolutely loved it, we all did. The diversity of colours textures and spaces coupled with its geological history the tour told is awe inspiring in its correct sense. It shifts one's perspective of time, as the vastness of it the rocks reveal, render our oh so self-important lives insignificant mili- moments. Better still were the staff who could not have been more accommodating, helpful and funny. As a carer for my husband I was uncertain how he might react in the low spaces or if there was a problem in the cave, because of cognitive difficulties and mostly now french speakng but the team were prepared, made him feel valued and fully engaged him with a bit of translation by me. Our guide's knowledge was phenomenal, but his wit and repartee excelled even that. At the end we had a catch up and hug and lots of laughter. Wonderful people, stunning experience. Go, you'll love it!

I had an absolute blast at Madame Tussauds Blackpool! From the moment I walked in, it felt like I had stepped into a world of celebrities, sports legends, and iconic characters. The wax figures are so incredibly lifelike it’s almost eerie how real they look. One of the biggest highlights for me was the Marvel Superheroes section. Seeing Spider-Man, Hulk, and Iron Man up close was such a cool experience, and the interactive displays made it even more exciting. I also loved the Coronation Street set. I actually got to sit inside the famous Rovers Return pub, which was such a fun, nostalgic moment. Every section had its own charm, whether it was standing next to music legends, posing with the Royal Family, or getting up close with famous athletes.

Absolutely fantastic 👏 my 1st ever visit and I cannot recommend this place enough pal. A little tip for you pal if you ever visit, I saved my tesco club card points up and exchanged £5 for £10 to spend here.......so savvy! The exhibits, the characters Absolutely brilliant. I loved meeting the king, visiting ant and dec and signing tom jones up for a gig later in Derby this year! Best bits for me were meeting Ken Dodd in the mirror maze and dj ing with lewis capaldi.......you just can't write this stuff pal it's bonkers!

A very good time had by all of the family in here. From aged 19 - 76 ! Some excellent wax works on show. Definitely worth a visit, and a couple of hours well spent. Thank you !

Me, my disabled aunt and one year old daughter visited here at the weekend. Motorised wheelchairs/scooters are not allowed on the premises, but they had a wheelchair and the staff wheeled her about and helped her to gain access to everything via lifts etc. The staff were incredibly helpful, particularly Thomas and Adrian, but all the staff were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. The museum itself was really well designed, with interactive displays, brilliant room designs clever lighting, a VR roller coaster, a hall of mirrors , a make your own model hand stalll, and you can even have a drink at the rovers return. Some of the wax works weren’t an exact likeness of the people they’re based on, but they were still very recognisable, the more recent models were very realistic with amazing attention to detail and I’m sure they will keep improving as technology improves. We moved quite quickly through all the displays considering one guest was being wheeled about, but it still took us best part of two hours, it is much bigger than we expected it to be and we had a brilliant time! Thank you to all the staff for their friendly and welcoming service! ❤️

Love Madame Tussards Blackpool. We come every year and it changes slightly which is great for us, we have our favourite sections, mines the Avengers area. When coming to Blackpool this is always on the kids list to visit. As a Merlin pass holder it's always worth it too. Easy to get around, lifts for people who arnt so mobile. Clean areas, fun picture opportunities. Interactive areas. Great 1-2 hours spent having fun.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Situated on the front and easily accessible by public transport. I hadn’t been to a Madame Tussaud’s since I was a child so really enjoyed spending the afternoon looking at the different wax works and taking some fun photographs. Enjoyed the well placed Rovers Return bar for a drink part way through too! There certainly did seem to be something there for everyone with the mix of TV, music & movie stars plus the Marvel section.

Great value and iconic way to see the Promenade in Blackpool! Some of the trams are open top, which is great for the illuminations but beware of bad weather! We just missed an open top tram and we were disappointed we missed it. But as luck would have it, a rain storm came out of nowhere and we were lucky we got on a tram with a roof!

I was looking forward to a ride on the tram which I experienced today. Unfortunately the tram was very busy with standing room only and despite all the information I have seen they would not accept my bus pass for payment. I was not the only person on the tram who expected their bus pass to cover the cost if the fare. The conductor was very nice about it but told me I would have to pay for the return journey so I declined and got off at the next stop and had quite a long walk back into Blackpool. I suggest they update their information.

A great way to spend a relaxing 3-4 hours. The walk is fairly difficult inflates but we'll worth the views and scenery. Plenty of wildlife to see. I would advise swimming wear when hot as a couple of places ti have a dip. A must see if in the area.

Fantastic walk. Absolute rip off price. It was about £32 for two adults two children to do the walk. But it still is a fantastic walk. Absolute beautiful scenery and the views later on in the walk are very enjoyable. Chucking 14 quid for four ice creams halfway round and then another four quid on drinks at the toilet stop made it an expensive day.

Fantastic circular walking route with amazing views, plenty of waterfalls. Lots of easy parts to walk on footpaths along with plenty of up stairs and hills. Refreshment vans on the way round at just the right time! A little challenging in parts but so worth it. Great day out!

We opted to go later in the afternoon and arrived around 3pm. Glad we did as it was quite busy at the main waterfalls, but not too busy so we couldn’t get any nice photos. (I imagine at lunch time it’s much worse!) It’s a beautiful trail with some stunning spots!! There are a lot of steps so medium fitness is probably required. Not any bins along the trail so make sure to take a bag so you can take your rubbish home with you!

We arrived early on a Sunday. This meant we could stroll at a leisurely pace, and it wasn't too busy. A beautiful walk with a refreshment stand and toilets en route. Lots of places to stop and admire the view. All finished off with a walk through the beautiful village which has cafes, fish and chips, pubs and lovely craft shops. Well worth the entrance fee.

We are so glad to experience this. However, it is a strenuous trail, be warned! It felt like 20 miles! I know it isn’t, but it was soooo hot 🥵 on the day (29/04/25) & we just wasn’t expecting it to be, & there were very steep steps at times….exposed in a lot of areas (no shelter from sun)….Thank the Lord for a young gentleman in an ice cream van, parked in a place where I wouldn’t have thought possible (from a distance) I thought he was a mirage!!! What a life saver! So just be warned, please go prepared, & enjoy the spectacular views!

Moderate walk with beautiful scenery. There are lots of steps so I would say it is unsuitable for young children and not wheelchair accessible. Parking is free but you have to pay £11 to access the walk. Lots of refreshment stops that are reasonably priced. Gorgeous day out and definitely recommended!

The guided tour was absolutely incredible and lasted just over an hour. Highly recommended because it was outstanding. Castle itself is magnificent and very beautiful, but the Tour really was the icing on the cake. So interesting and unusual, well priced too. We also visited the very good Police Museum next door as well.

I must say we were disappointed. The castle entry is only by guided tours. It cost £25 for three of us (2 adults and a child). The tour is for one hour. They take you only to some places on the ground floor. You do not get to go to any other places, upper floors or roam around freely inside the castle. You cannot take any photograph inside the castle. You only get to see some parts where prisoners were kept and the court room. Nothing more than that. Also, be aware that the Police Museum is only open on Thursday and Friday. So, if you visit any other days, you cannot enter those premises. It didn't feel like worth the money. The staff are friendly. That's the only plus. Do I suggest you visit the place? Maybe my answer would be No.

Great place to visit. Our tour guide was engaging and enthusiastic and really brought history to life! Really good value for money too. Will return when more of the castle is open to the public.

Lancaster Castle boasts nice aerial views from the front. To the rear is the priory which is also worth visiting. It is free to walk in the courtyard. Tours in the castle have to be pre-booked and photography is restricted in the castle buildings. Imposing castle in very good condition. Close to other attractions and a stone throw from the busier parts of town.

This is an interesting castle with a lot of history. You can visit the outside for free but need to pay for a guided tour of the rest. The tour includes some of the current court building (where photography is restricted) and former prison cells (where photography is allowed). It has historical links with John of Gaunt, Henry IV, the Pendle Witches and the Birmingham 6. It includes a small.shop and cafe.

Great place to visit. Had a tour guide, went in the prison and court room. There is a Police Museum there aswell. A really interesting place with a lot of history. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Visited on Tuesday 01st October 2024. Lovely visit to the town including Eric Morecambe's Statue. Beyond the statue itself, there is a user-activated audio guide to Eric's history. Details of that history are captured in engravings and plaques around the statue on various levels. Parking nearby and the area has been maintained well.

Fantastic tribute to one of England's best loved comedians. The statue and surrounding area is lovingly and creatively thought out. Would not have wanted to miss this. We used to love watching the Morecambe and Wise show

It was very good considering it was a cold, snowy day, but we had booked to partake in a snow leopard experience for a special birthday treat so didn’t let the weather put us off. We’ve been here before numerous times and do enjoy our visits, it has a very unique offering of a walk through aviary and a all through animal section (which was sadly closed this time around) but honestly it is starting to look a little tired. The couple of staff we crossed paths with were friendly and knowledgeable, the animals we saw appeared happy and not fussed by the weather, the snow leopard experience was outstanding! I can’t help feel like the place gets a bad rep from a previous owner and bad management, we saw no issues when we were there other than it was very quiet, the place could do with a general tidy up and maybe offer more seasonal things like a Christmas themed scavenger hunt or something like that. We’ll be back for sure.

A day out at South Lakes Zoo. There was a bit of a queue to get in which is not great when the weather is bad. Entrance is a long pathway which is a bit muddy so obviously suitable footwear is a must. The Zoo is quite big so lots of walking around. There was a super long queue to feed the giraffes which you pay for in advance. The food available is terrible so taking your own food is advisable. There is also limited seating inside in bad weather and very basic seats nothing fancy at all. As expected there is a shop which is quite pricey. When we went it was very wet and there were huge puddles everywhere. It would be a different experience ( better) in summer months but I can’t imagine the queues to get in or for any food then. I wouldn’t return if I’m honest. We traveled from Newcastle and I couldn’t wait to leave but my Grandson loved it. The children’s play area was swamped and he fell in a huge muddy puddle. The animals seemed well cared for but I do think the whole place could do with an overhaul.

We had a fabulous day at South Lakes. We were gifted a giraffe experience by our Sons as I have an obsession with giraffes! Alex was our zoo keeper and she was so friendly snd knowledgeable about the animals in her care. She really went above & beyond to make sure we had a great time. We had a lovely time walking round the zoo seeing all the other animals who looked well cared for. Some areas of the zoo look a little run down & in need of some TLC, but on the whole it’s a lovely place

Have to say after reading all the reviews I was very concerned about going here. We turned up to an empty car park and had no queue to get in. The zoo itself was a little run down I will agree with others about this it's definitely not what it used to be. But we got to see nearly every animal in the zoo and they all seemed as happy as any animal you see in a zoo. Yes there could be more enrichment available for the animals but none looked sad and depressed. It seems like the zoo is trying to improve things slowly. Overall a really nice day. We did 2 feeding experiences. One with the red panda which was amazing. Great keeper that was friendly and knowledgeable. The giraffe feeding was also good. We feed them their Normal diet of leaves with no carrots in sight.

We brought tickets in advance as they were on a deal. It was a very nice little zoo, I would say 2-3 hours is enough, the exhibits were nice and the animals looked healthy and happy. The map was a little difficult to read but it was ok and we got around.

After seeing the recent reviews we was a little anxious about visiting the zoo. But I can safely say we had a brilliant day out. It's a fantastic place to visit. The smaller animals are free to roam which creates some unforgettable experiences, feeding the Lemurs being top of the bunch. It was a hot day so some of the big cats stayed in the shade, but we still managed to see them and all the other animals on display. All of the toilets and facilities seemed clean and maintained. The shop was a little pricey but they all are at the zoos. The only downside was the play area looks like it's being renovated so most of the equipment was off limits. But that didn't spoil a great day out. Would definitely visit again.

The zoo is okay. It's feeling very run down now though. Staff weren't really present, other than at the entrance. Advertised feeding times were either late or didn't happen at all. Signs around the zoo were worn out and completely ineligible. The zoo doesn't allow picnics or food at all. They say it's because of the free roaming animals, which there aren't many except a few peacocks. But they have a restaurant of their own. So, it felt more like they want visitors to buy their food. Could be better, but needs some refurbishment and just some overall care. I managed to get £6 tickets as part of the summer special, but wouldn't recommend at full price.

We had a marvellous time from start to finish. The characters are beautifully made, and the layout was easy to follow. I especially loved the garden, full of wonderful plants and an interesting find around each corner.

Perfect for a few hours of family fun. Our 5 year old absolutely loved it. I remember going here 25 years ago with my parents. Was lovely to be able to do the same with her.

One of the best themed attractions in terms of quality of exhibition and exhibits. Very clean. Exhibits are accessible and very tempting for little fingers to touch. Witnessed an exhibit being broken by a small child. It was busy and would recommend purchasing your tickets online before you visit. New Beatrix Potter cafe across the road was fabulous too!

It was a fantastic experience to see Peter Rabbit and friends come alive. Kids loved it and the souvenir shop is a real treat too.

Nice little place, prices were a bit expensive for what you get as it is over in 10-20 minutes, would be difficult to spend longer than an hour in here. Good place for children as there are many interactive and educational activities. Was nice to walk around and learn about Beatrix Potter and her past. Some characters were run down and bad quality. Would recommend on a cold rainy day as it is indoors and offers a cafe with food and drink.

We visited here as a group of 10 made up of 9 adults and 1 child and the adults loved it just as much if not more than our two year old, lovely being able to see the beloved characters displayed and there was a christmas theme throughout. The attraction is short but I would definitely recommend going if you’re passing through windermere as we were, it wasn’t busy at all and we stopped for a bite to eat in the cafe afterwards which was also lovely.

Lovely place to visit with children. Shop quite expensive. This place is NOT suitable for those in a wheelchair or who use a scooter as there is a steep ramp.

A wonderful afternoon spent at Beatrix Potter's house. It is only a small house, but there's lots of interesting things to read and see. The garden is just delightful. You can clearly see where her drawing ideas came from. The NT staff were so friendly too!

Magical. Welcome in a Beatrix Potters house where she created most magical stories. You can see how much work she put into many things. Her handcrafts are breathtaking. Not only for fans. Free for National Trust members. Beautiful garden and scenery. Absolutely must do when you in the area.

Lovely place! We particularly liked how all the books are dotted around the cottage showing the illustrations she did based off those rooms. Special mention to volunteer David who was super friendly and very informative about Beatrix!

Our first visit to Hill Top, though we have driven past it on many occasions when in the area. Not the best of days to visit as it was pouring down and also early in the year so not a lot going on in the garden at the moment. Perhaps that will encourage us to visit at a later date. What was a good reason to visit was to learn so much about Beatrix Potter, her life, inspirations for her tales and her love of the area she settled in. The two main things that struck me were how information was laid out. It wasn't in the least but overwhelming but rather encouraged further exploration of Beatrix and her time, particularly in relation to the position of single ladies of a particular class within society. The other aspect was the friendliness of the volunteers and their enthusiasm for answering any queries or instigating conversations. Definitely a place to visit.

Nice wee place. The house is well kept and I really appreciated the books left in each room to show where Beatrix got her inspiration from. Quite pricey for the surface area. Would recommend to visit in the spring or summer so the garden will be at its best and blooming 🌹 Oh and book in advance, parking is extremely small and if you want to park you'll need a pre-booked ticket

A very cozy small house with history and helpful staff. Before our trip, we watched the movie "Miss Potter" to better understand this place. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get into the house the first time because we didn't know that we had to book in advance. Luckily we were in the area for three days and booked a tour for the next day.

Excellently put together exhibition at Beatrix Potter's home. Her stories are placed in areas open at the page where she included drawings from her home - cute. Coffee and hot chocolate (and more) available at Joey's on site.

A truly beautiful place. Unfortunately the cost of a ride on one of the boats 🚢 on the lake is getting ridiculous it's getting so expensive lots of people can't afford this now .

Beautiful place to visit. We have been there few times, this time we rented a boat. Kids love it great experience and so much fun. There is plenty of restaurants and places to eat. Ice cream to die for. Lots of spaces for a picnic with friends and family. I really enjoyed there, highly recommend to visit. Car park spaces are limited, but you can easy get one.

You can take the boat across the lake and see the scenery along the way. My only criticism is the prices at snack Vans. £5 for simple Roll with Sausage 🌭. Cmon that is just utterly greedy. If a family of four for example were visiting for the day between food, boat would be an expensive day out. Downside to one side, I am glad I visited.

We had a really good time here for a 4 night break. The 3 bed lodge was suitable for the family and had everything we needed. Had some issues with the cleaning of the lodge and a few missing items but guest services had that all sorted for us so that was fine. Plenty for the kids to do. We did the pedalo boats, interactive wall activity, the swimming pool which was great, the spa (really recommend) and more. The pancake house was great, food was amazing. Only down side was the kids disco, there just isn't enough tables/chairs so we couldn't attend as they were all taken before 6pm. Would be nice if they put a specific bar/area to have kids evening entertainment so more families can enjoy.

Fantastic family holiday, lovely weather throughout, plenty of activities available, but not a full water activity offering due to time of year. Part of the pool is being redone but that didn't take away from the overall experience. Will definitely go again

it was a pretty solid holiday, i enjoyed the quad bikes and the Ariel adventure/zipline. took some banging photos of the birds on my camera. it was quiet at night and was pretty chill if you need a break. employees were lovey, probably wouldn't go again but thats only because it was so far from were im from and i prefer day trips :)

If you’ve ever sat at home and thought, "You know what I miss? The crusty carpets and decaying decor of a budget leisure centre from the year 2000," then good news... Center Parcs Whinfell Forest is ready to absolutely fleece you for the experience. The place is tired. They didnt even make the beds when we arrived....left a note saying they would be back...at least when Arnie said that he actually came back. The lodge is so tired it’s practically in palliative care. The carpets are a biohazard. Pretty sure they’ve not been cleaned since the Millennium Bug was a legitimate concern. Walking on them feels like stepping across the sticky floor of a dive bar....but at least in the dive bar you might get a strong drink for your trouble....but not in Hucks...more about that shambles later... The staff? Oh, they’ve gone full jobsworth and probably are self entitled members of Just Stop Oil on the side... Tried to sit quietly in the climbing wall waiting area, sealed off from the action? Nope. Not allowed. Because clearly, any second now, I was going to pole vault over the gate, wrestle the kids off the wall, and launch myself into a full-blown Mission Impossible sequence. Give me a break. I wasn’t even standing up aggressively I just wanted somewhere to sit while my money continued hemorrhaging out of my wallet. Speaking of money....£5 for a tiny bowl of chips...and if you fancy a cocktail, get ready to pay £11 for something that tastes like watered-down Calpol. It’s almost impressive how they’ve managed to remove any trace of alcohol while still charging you like it's a night out in Mayfair. Need to store your stuff whilst you brave the swimming area? Good luck. The lockers in the changing rooms are basically a slot machine. Tap your wristband like a demented fool on ten lockers before you find one that might work. It’s less “secure storage” and more “frustrating dystopian social experiment.” Dining at Huck’s was the cherry on the overpriced turd cake: nearly £200 to feed 4 adults and 3 kids, for food that couldn’t have been more disappointing if it was served from a bin. Honestly, a reheated McDonald’s Happy Meal would have put their kitchen to shame. The general atmosphere? Grim. I don’t know if they’re running some kind of two-for-one chav promotion at the gate, but the quality of guests has nose-dived. Shrieking kids. Shrieking parents screaming vile things at the kids. Everywhere you looked, a parenting fail in motion. Fancy some ice cream to sweeten the trauma? £2.55 a scoop for something that looked like it was extracted from the bottom of a broken freezer. Half a scoop, half-melted, full price. Though to be fair, they forgot to charge us for a Flake — the highlight of the trip, because nothing says value like accidentally stealing 50p worth of chocolate. Want some arcade fun? Haha, get in line. It’s no longer "chuck a pound in." No, now you have to preload £12 to even exist near a machine. £12 for your kid to win two paper tickets and a plastic spider. What a time to be alive. Oh, and for the privilege of this weekend of relentless wallet assault and moral despair? £800+ for a three-bedroom lodge that's about one gust of wind away from being condemned. Overall review: Save yourself the money. Set £1,000 on fire at home instead. At least you'll be warm and you won’t have to sleep on carpets that could legally qualify as biohazard zones.

Great place for a family holiday. Plenty to do both inside and out. Like the online booking for activities and the ability to edit activities as long as it's before the 24hour mark. The quality and cleanliness of the parc was very good and clearly well maintained.

We had high expectations having already visited WOBURN & SHERWOOD. The whole site is old, tatty, haggard! Sadly we were let down, at every corner! Upon arrival staff were shirty, eye rolling, generally unhappy. Our 2 storey lodge was nice but the beans left in the dishwasher, the crumbs all over the bench, the aerosol left under the bed, the toilet seat falling off, 1 of the hobs not working...just a let down! Tree trekking states 45min...it lasted 13mins... Lots of smokers on site, we had to keep our windows shut. We didnt quite get the fresh air we hoped for. Pool was pure filth, covered in brown stains, vile. No wonder someone vomited while we were there! Not worth the money at all. We book knowing center parcs are expensive but we also expect quality & good service. Wouldnt go back.

Stunning!! Absolutely stunning! Visited late November. The leaves were off the trees so the views were spectacular! It's an easy 9.5 mile walk round. Clear paths. Very little climb and no styles. Short walks on roads. We went on a Wednesday, the weather was bright but cold. Lovely and quiet although I can imagine it gets very busy on weekends and holidays . Kettle well car park is National Trust so it is free to park for members. Lovely coffee van about a mile from St Mary's hotel.

Enjoyed the 15km Derwent Water Circular hike around the entire of the lake. It was absolutely beautiful. Massive credit to the National Trust for maintaining paths and boardwalks in tricky areas which make this utterly enchanting place to readily accessible for people to enjoy. It is simply stunning here.

Beautiful ribbon lake nestled within the classic Lake District mountainous terrain. If you can get on the water, it's a great feeling, and even if not, you'll be able to feel the serenity at any point around the lake. Genuinely a stunning place especially when it's not too rainy or cloudy (good luck!) and one of my highlights when visiting the lakes.

Beautiful little climb. Steep but short with wonderful views and the option to make it a circular walk by following the path down to the shore of Derwent Water. Very busy, however. Parking can be difficult.

We recently did the Catbells hike, and it was a fantastic experience! The trail is not particularly difficult, making it family-friendly and accessible to a wide range of fitness levels. Along the way, you’re treated to magnificent views of Derwentwater Lake, adding to the overall beauty of the experience. For parking, you can start with the Catbells Parking, though it’s a small car park and can fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. Luckily, there are additional spots available along the route, so you can usually find a place without too much trouble. Overall, it’s a must-do hike if you’re in the Lake District!

Really enjoyed this hike! Was a bit on the harder side especially if this is your first hike! Did it alone and made it to the top! Just make sure you start the correct side and prepare to have a bit of a climb! It gets a bit steep!

2hrs ISH from car park and back, if catbells car park is full, go straight past it to farm gate, go down the road to a community car park, cost £5.00 for full day. Catbells fairly easy but with a couple of rocky bits with light scrambling, well worth it for the views. If you have a dog keep it under control, we watched a guy running after his very large dog as it went off chasing a sheep, I mean how dumb do you have to be.

Absolute bliss and peace up here, straightforward route with some scrambling, can be completed by any beginner

Great views at the summit and during the ascent. Small scramble sections, but nothing too difficult. This is a good beginner fell. Can be done as part of a circular route around Derwent water, easy to add in neighbouring wainwrights, or easily tackled in an hour if climbing Cat Bells alone.

If you're interested in history it is a brilliant museum, starting in the classroom visit and a quick appreciation on the Latin language. Several galleries of interest, another video of life as a soldier on the wall is very impressive. Well worth the entry fee.

The museum itself is informative ,interactive and interesting. My review is less because the cafe at 10am had nothing apart from cake and we were wanting breakfast before seeing the museum. They should maybe post online they have nothing to offer weary travellers. Apparently it’s because they were so quiet.

Well worth a visit and a great family day out. We bought a saver ticket which covered here and Vindolanda, and we felt that it was good value for money. There were short film shows with actors portraying the life of a Roman soldier and hundreds of artefacts from excavations in the area- all well presented. There was also a room for children with dressing up clothes and other things for them to do. Good facilities with a small cafe and gift shop, and everywhere was spotlessly clean!

A fantastic museum. The children loved it just as much as I did. The staff were all so amazingly friendly and welcoming. Would 100% return next time I am in the area.

The museum is easily reachable by car and by bus and a must if you walk the Hadrian's Wall path. The Roman Army Museum gives interesting insight on life as a Roman soldier at the frontier of the Roman Empire. I definitely recommend watching the amazing movie about the Roman frontier in Britannia in the museum! There are lots of activities in the museum for children and also adults. If you have enough time I would recommend buying a "savers ticket" so you can also visit Vindolanda for a cheaper price on the same day. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you are a fan of Roman history!

A great venue for learning about the Roman and auxiliary soldiers who built and manned the wall for 300 years. There is a nice cafe, museum, and gift shop. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.

Really beautiful cathedral, not what I expected. Lots of varying architectural details, stunning ceiling, lovely stained glass a real hidden gem in the north of England The staff are really friendly and engaging, ready to take question or answer a query. There is a really good good cafe and a nice gift shop.

Really lovely experience here at the cathedral. I would consider this a must-see if you are passing through Carlisle. There are guides on hand to answer any questions you might have. One such gentleman (whose name escapes me), I asked to simply tell me everything he knows about the place. We spent about an hour walking around and he told me all the information he could. Truly a wonderful experience. There is a cafe and washrooms outside the cathedral and a gift shop inside for those who want gifts. Remember to look up when you visit! The ceiling is stunning! I was moved to tears.

An amazing cathedral super well maintained. The art work is unreal. A must see whkme at Carlisle. The choir performs daily.

Beautiful cathedral with an amazing ornate organ. The outside of the building does not draw you in for some reason, but the inside is fantastic! If you've never popped in, I highly recommend it!

I absolutely loved this first time visit. Very educational and especially loved the artefacts in the Treasury. Sat for a short while and found myself Just staring at the stunning stained glass windows and the beautiful ceiling. Hopefully will be able to visit again one day when I'm next in this beautiful part of the country.

One of the smaller cathedrals to visit but still lovely to look around. Small shop and lovely cafe which served some gluten free food.

This place did not disappoint. It's so lovely to find out the history of marriages here, and see couples outside before or after getting married. There was a piper playing when we arrived which was so special as this was our first stop after crossing the border into Scotland. The shops are amazing, you're spoilt for choice with gifts and souvenirs etc. The staff were all very friendly and seemed to love working there. The toilets are incredible too. Honestly recommend a visit to anyone as it has such a great atmosphere, and it's so pretty with flowers and sculptures.

Stopped here on our way out of Scotland. The facilities were clean, the food we bought delicious. It was a good place to grab a couple last minute tourist things before heading back to England. There was plenty of parking. Had to come for a peek after reading about the place in so many historical romance. They still do weddings in the area. I can imagine it would be a fun way to celebrate a family tradition if your ancestor had done so as well

We stopped here after a holiday in Scotland and was a lovely way to end. We were lucky to see a couple getting their pictures taken after getting married. There are a lot of photo opportunities and a couple of gift shops. We made sure to stock up on traditional shortbread. Gift shops prices are what you would expect but not too over the top. Parking is free, so that's a huge bonus.

Good food, nice bar, lovely sitting area. Gift shop good quality (but a tad expensive). Lots of interesting art work, memorabilia & historical information. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Well worth a visit

Nice visit for an hour or so. Small park for children. Disabled access and toilets available. Big Scottish shop with some nice gifts, some are quite expensive but nice if you have the money. Just check opening times if you go before end of March as they have different opening hours and we got caught out thinking they closed at 5 pm but they closed at 4 pm so didn't quite manage to get all the way round.

Well worth a short visit, it is commercial but the prices have to pay for the upkeep etc. Free parking which was a bonus, very knowledgeable man in the museum shop that really helped with a choice on the whisky that was a special present. Thank you sir.

Lovely shop. Great selection of goodies to buy from bags to jewellery to sweets and clothes. Nice cafe as well.
